Tables and floor and toilets are terrible so dirty absolutely disgusting and this was first thing so not many people through the door staff just chatting not bothered to clear or clean tables

Very pleasant experience today. Great coffee, great service. It all depends on who is serving you..hence it can be hit and miss..

I've been into enough coffee shops toe recognise the excellent service experienced as part of an interaction with Jan. He was very pleasant and patient, genuinely friendlyand helpful and allowed us to feel welcome despite being close to closing time. The exchange stood out as memorable based on his knowledge of the products and very personable manner

I'm sure the service would have been as good as the drinks and atmosphere . Unfortunately, the WiFi in the locale had gone down , so only cash payments accepted.Sadly, this also affected the nearby cash machines . I would go again, tho'.

The dirtiest Nero I had the misfortune to use, also the dbl espresso was absolutely garbage.

Had to wait for a friend so decided to come here for coffee as Costa was packed. None of the tables were cleared or cleaned, the place is understaffed (I won’t blame them for anything as clearly they have enough to deal with). Had to wait 15 minutes just for a cappuccino due to not enough staff dealing with orders, and people were actually served before me that were after in the queue. Prices and quality are questionable. Cappuccino tasted of milk and barely any coffee, I shudder to think what the latte is like. Are their grounds cut with flour or something? Weak. A slice of cake costs you 4 quid and you get a SLITHER. I’ve put my finger next to the slice in the picture to show you how stingey they are. Won’t come again, this is UK capitalistic swindling at its apex.

Very busy, staff member was not paying attention and trying to do too much at once, had remind him of my order, failed to give stamps. Inside was very warm, sat outside, clearly not visited by staff as tables were very dirty and cluttered, not quite the standard I am used to

Walked out after a few minutes - all the free tables had not been cleared, seats torn or badly worn, decor really tired and drab. The whole shop badly needs a makeover…

Walked in and the manager was rude had a can't be asked attitude. When I ordered my drink. My drink was made to a poor quality and this isn't the first time Kelly has done this

Been here a few times and every time I swear the baristas hate their job... which is sad to see. Coffee tastes like tar so wouldn't exactly recommend. Food is okay but seriously overpriced

I come here alot and I normally have a fantastic experience but today when I'm having a bad time I randomly didn't get the normal excellent service. I appreciate the male member of staff maybe new as I haven't seen him before but I was next to be served, right in front of him waiting and he totally blanked me and skipped asking me are you being served and he didn't he just served the person behind me in the queue. I hope he doesn't do this to me again and hope he doesn't do this to others.

Worst coffee I have ever had at a Nero. Whomever owns this franchise is cutting corners by reducing the strength. Nero need to look into this because the coffee is weaker than my mum makes. Had food here twice, last time the pastries were still raw in the middle and this time they were burned. Awful. Head office needs to quality control this shambles.

Great food and good high quality hot drinks as you expect from a Caffè Nero, nice warm and friendly environment inside and polite welcoming staff A pit stop I'm glad we took.

Last time coffee there was very watery

The food was good and as expected. Except some items were out of stock. The staff didn’t have any empathy nor were they helpful in ordering. I ordered a meal with a coffee. But when told the price I was confused. That’s because meals only come with soft drinks. Coffee is extra and on top of the advertised price. He looked put out for having to explain that to me Aside from this a general question not related to my rating: is why don’t meals come with a donut ?

The service was very slow the staff weren't doing much I had to clear a table of used cups and rubbish off of the table as 7 tables had not been cleared and we're full of used cups trays rubbish ect when I was clearing the table I was going to sit at a staff mem er said thanks for doing my job for me I replied well your clearly not doing it and he walked off

It's very bad 👎 😕 the Caffè is not clean at all, and even the chairs are dirty and old, and the only thing is that the staff are still smiling 😀

It has the potential to be a good café but that would require senior management to not treat their staff poorly, hire more people, and pay them better! Also learn to invest in your cafés and people, you money-grabbing, broken cheese grater.

The coffee was good. The staff were friendly. But they did seem over worked and not enough staff. The whole place felt run down and needed redecorating. One of the ladies toilet doors did not close. Also, there was cross contamination, due to dairy and non dairy products being kept in the same containers.

Service very slow, wait time far to long. Probably be another 18 mths before we visit again.

Sat outside. It took my partner a while to get served. Coffee ok. We didn't eat as nothing much gluten free.

Coffee was OK but the decor is a bit tired, especially the doors to the rest rooms. You have to blame the customer that don't know how to use the push plates on the doors, but when a problem is persistent, there is usually an answer. How about a repositioned or bigger door plate. I clean wouldn't hurt either.

The price of coffee these days really upsets me.

Went yesterday because it has had a refit all style over substance long wait for 2 coffees two tasteless sandwiches no salt or pepper or any condiments.wife had to use the loo and she said it was vile.never going back.

This branch of Caffe Nero is busy but efficient and often quiet upstairs. It serves all the usual expected Caffe Nero items.

Not bad food and drinks although cake portion sizes very small for price. But more to the point constantly understaffed every time I've been in Fathers day 3pm 1 personserving and making drinks...poor girl she was very friendly efficinet and polite but did look a bit stressed. Plus all tables dirty. Maybe if you put more people on you would take more money

Nice place and coffees are good but always very understaffed, the queue takes a very long time. The toilets also never have any toilet roll. Most of the staff are polite but a few are quite standoffish, which makes you feel slightly unwelcome

Went into the cafe at 10.30am and it was reasonably quiet with 3 staff on, but although some tables has been cleared the shelf along the window was littered with trays and take away cups. The floor also looked particularly grubby. It was a dry day so no real reason for dirty floors but it looked like the whole place could do with a good clean. Very disappointed, I used to visit this store quite often a few years ago and it was much more vibrant and also spotless. What's happened??

HYGIENE seriously lacking. The NY chef Anthony Bourdain said that before you eat anywhere, use the toilets. If they aren't clean, then the kitchen isn't, either. Sadly on Friday 21 April 2023 I used the toilets in Tunbridge Wells and they were disgusting. One door wouldn't close properly; one toilet seat was crooked; and another loon was filled with fecal matter. This is unacceptable. I made a verbal complaint to a barista, but I should not have had to do this.

Staff just take too long, 10 minutes wait whilst they both look for stock, just be a bit more aware of current stock when serving customers and priorities what you're doing. I watched as three customers left during my wait for the order.

I love cafe nero. Most of the staff here are friendly, polite and lovely, but the upper management need to sort this shop out. They always seem to be understaffed and mainly supported by new people on the team, who bless them are trying their best, but they're very slow and make mistakes. Last time I did a click and collect I had to wait in the shop for 30mins for it to be ready. Coffee today, they missed half the shot in the glass but used it for my coffee, so now my coffee tastes very watery. As much as I love nero, I won't return to this particular branch if I can help it.

Very very slow service. 20 mins to get a coffee. Yes one was a trainee but the two others serving were so slow and low energy

Too much choice and too smaller serving counter mean rediculously long queue. Food is typical of chains too much sugar. We need more independent coffee shops in the centre

Filthy restaurant and no attempt by staff to collect empty cups or plates. As a result I had to move them myself to get a table. Also the upstairs was just completely full of people taking the mick pretending to work, each taking up a table to themselves, no drinks or food in sight and laptop charger cables everywhere. Avoid.

Bought the festive hot chocolates which were fabulous but think the staff could be a little bit more cheerful. The main reason for the lower star rating is down to the fact that they have NO help for the disabled especially the entrance doors we had to ask another customer to help us out of the door due to being in a wheelchair!!

My favourite Caffé Nero for location. Nice atmosphere and views from here. Staff are friendly, too.

Coffee is the best thing about Nero. This one is a bit run down and sadly Nero have changed their Gingerbread man recipe so I'll be visiting less!

I've got into a bit of a habit with their oat milk hot chocolate. It's nicer than the normal milk, it's creamier :) I just discovered the upstairs and will be bringing my book next time to sit and relax. UPDATE: I love it upstairs as it is peaceful and the staff are not pushy in any way to move you on. This is my number one coffee shop in town to go and work in. UPDATE 2: This is still my number one place. The staff are lovely and now many of them know my drink and so there is no need to ask, it's my my 'usual' :) The one thing I have noticed that I would change though is the place needs a good clean. The tables are fine but when you look in the corners it needs a deep clean. The staff from what I see day to day are simply too busy. A good clean would be my cherry on top for this place.

A bit of TLC needed. The windows for a starter REALLY need a clean. Overall it just looks a bit grotty. The wooden flooring is really in need of a good clean. I still come here because I like their coffee though

Staff were friendly once they acknowledged those in the queue, however service was extremely slow as they were busy chatting a lot of the time. Of more concern was how filthy the whole building is. Floors, skirting boards, window sills etc have years of ground in dirt on them and quite frankly it is rather off-putting! I wouldn't return to be truthful. I fancied a change from Costa but I won't make the same mistake twice! Sorry!!

Je vais chaque jour chez café nero quand je suis en Angleterre. Celui ci est le pire que j zi vu d une saleté rare. Les clients nettoyant eux même table et chaises pour pouvoir s assoir. Pas de savon dans les WC plus jamais a celui ci

Great service, clean tables and chairs, lovely tasting coffee. But, as the weather was nice, the doors were open and someone sitting directly outside was smoking and the stink wafted through all of the interior. Not pleasant.

Won't use this place wouldn't take my cash during covid.

Like a nice strong coffee Nero is the place to go. Great bean, excellent flavour, good service and the staff remember their regular customers and their usual orders. Beats Costa hands down with their over priced watered down oversize cuppa's ,👍👍
