The Royal Horse, Hungry Horse in Warwick

Just had breakfast here with my hubby! Have to say the food was really good hit and cooked perfectly but the service was even better! Was greeted by a lovely girl called Nelly, she also took our orders and refills for teas she was very pleasant and a little Ray if sunshine! Hungry Horse you need more staff like Nelly!

The breakfast was delicious and Nelly was a great host highly recommended for food and service.

I can only comment on the breakfast, but very reasonable prices and a great array. Staff were friendly. Great full English, and the children's 'frozen smoothie bowl' was beautiful, low calorie, and only £2.50. Ordering from the Greene King app made everything leaps and bounds easier. Comfortable seating, quite a funky and colourful style interior, and well spaced apart booths so as to not overlap into others' tables and personal conversations. The only progress comment I have would be to double check water ordering and whether fruit or without ice is available, as it lists on the app. Thank you for a great meal, I will definitely visit again when I am in the area, and I know many local Warwick Gates residents are a huge fan of this place, too! Lovely area.

We had a wonderful afternoon with our friends yesterday. We are very grateful to Sophie for her help. We would like to express our gratitude to all the pub staff, especially Sophie. They are really friendly, hardworking and helpful.Appreciate it.We recommend this lovely pub to all families.

Portions were poor, 3 of our 4 meals came with the bare minimum of chips, a meal that should have had onion rings, didn't!, steak that should've been medium to well came with more blood than my partners medium rare , all in all a pretty poor experience, had the cost of one meal refunded, we passed our local chippy on the way home, should've gone there.

Standard Hungry Horse. Good food reasonably priced knocked off stars for the lack of real ale and the fact it's not really cold. But lagers Guinness and John Smith's all fully stocked.

We visited this venue after a long time as we had bad experience last time we visited. This time we had booked a table for 11.45am and ordered our food promptly. Our food did not arrive till 12.35pm after enquiring several times with staff. Sharing starter arrived with main meal, but it was all cold. It is possible that they had cooked the food but there was no one to serve. One of the lady serving was very sympathetic and agreed that she would not eat food in such state. The service and food was awfull.

The service was really slow I waited for 45 minutes for 1 fish and chips it’s crazy.

Not overly impressed with the experience here. Started well, the online booking was simple and easy. They found our reservation no problem on arrival and we were seated straight away. Went to order food at the bar and half the items on the menu weren't available as they'd ran out (it was only 6pm). Ordered 2x kids set meals that come with dessert included. However, when the kids had finished and went to get their desserts I was told I would have to pay for them as I should have ordered at the beginning to benefit from the offer - it would have been nice to have been told this at the time - it felt like one of those 'computer says no' moments. To be frank, the food wasn't that great. Very basic, overcooked and not very good quality. After our meals, the kids wanted to have go on the climbing frame outside, but we had to cut it short when we noticed broken glass all over floor nearby. There were some positives though. The staff were very courteous and polite, the service was fast, comfortable seating and it was children friendly and the parking was ample.

I usually like this place for the easy food and for the quick service. Unfortunately today I was so disappointed. I came here for dinner with my boyfriend. I had a mushroom pie with mashed potato, and it was really bad. The pie was so tasteless and the potato was so soury like one of the ingredients is out of date. And I wasn't lucky with the cutlery either, all of it was so dirty...I understand this is meant to be a cheap family pub but at least some level of standards is expected...

Real excellent for watching sport. Here for the rugby right now. Dillon is a great guy. Recommend.

Staff are so friendly they go above and beyond to cater for your needs. Food is delicious big servings and very reasonable prices ( always arrives hot ) Friendly fun atmosphere would highly recommend. Dylan goes above and beyond and so does lizz very friendly! Tbh all the staff are very lovely and will do anything to help nothing is to much trouble.

Worst meal ever!! Two 14oz steaks inedible!! and cold. Nobody came to check our meals were OK! We left and will not be going back. Try the Unicorn Hungry Horse in coventry! Great meals! Should have gone there!!!!!

A big shout out to Ronan. We didn’t realise the kitchen closed at 9 when trying to order our puddings. We asked him why we weren’t able to order puddings and he told us the kitchen had just closed but what were we after. He then brought out 3 of the puddings we wanted. Great customer service and made our night. Thank you!

Nice place. Personally didn't try food but I am told it was good and it looked OK.

Unfortunately we had quite an issue with dirty cutlery - when we first tried to get some for our table of 7 there was only 1 fork, so I requested more - when we went back to check, the cutlery tray had been refilled but the knives were sticky and one was very obviously dirty, so I removed the entire rack of cutlery and took it to the bar to request it be rewashed. I felt that the member of staff was about to replace it, for another unsuspecting customer to grab a handful of other people's food, so I felt it necessary to watch to ensure that didn't happen - it didn't, but I really felt that if I hadn't been watching my complaint wouldn't have been taken seriously. The Sunday roast food was adequate to good (veg good, meat a bit too chewy), the prices very reasonable (kid's roast dinner was less than the cost of a pint), and the atmosphere good. It was a lovely place to take a large group including children for Sunday lunch (outdoor play area allowed the kids to let off steam), but the cleanliness aspect ensures I won't be making a return visit.

Absolutely amazing staff , I was served by Chanel and Dylan with the biggest smile and attended to my every need and want. Better than all Greene king pubs I’ve ever visited!! Will definitely be coming here again , well done royal horse xx

We visited here for breakfast and was very disappointed. Would not recommend… Food - we all had the super special breakfast, the bacon was completely burnt, the sausages looked like they had been warmed in the microwave they were shrivelled up and dry. The butter tasted off and looked as if it had been left to melt and been re fridge-rated, the mushrooms was as if they had just come out the packet. Hair was found in the breakfast and a ball of fluff in the beans with more hair. Staff - kitchen / chef staff came out to make our tea in night attire wearing a fluffy dressing gown, hair was not tied back or in a hair net. Staff members didn’t look as though they wanted to be there, 1 staff member seemed to have a cold sneezing into hands (no mask or gloves worn while making drinks) Toilets - when opening the door to go to the toilet was greeted by water squirting all over myself, (staff members seemed to find this amusing) when speaking to the staff it appeared they were aware there was a leak through the roof causing this but no warning or wet floor signs out. Found the whole experience very unpleasant.

Came here with my friends for a meal. One has gammon, I had chicken skewers, the other had scampi. Gammon was Raw, chicken was undercooked and scampi was just Mushy. Plates were filthy underneath. When my friend raised this to a worker they said they get a few complaints about it, as so we had seen on the previous reviews. Why isn’t the manager doing anything about it then? Why is he not bothering? A manager needs to be a manager and do his job. Staff looked as if they didn’t care to be there either.

You certainly can't moan about the prices as they are very reasonable, there was a bit of a wait at the bar not too long however some staff doing other things (cutting limes, serving drink customers only etc) just looked at you without a 'someone will be with you shortly'. The food did arrive pretty promptly to be fair however, they forgot my pineapple ring on my mixed grill, my wife's onion rings with her burger and my sons mango chutney with his curry and although this was resolved without an issue it shouldn't really have happened on 3 out of 4 dishes. Ideal pub for families with young children what with the indoor kids slot machines and outdoor park. Cheap and cheerful.

We visited the establishment on a busy Friday,we arrived on time for our table,and awaited to be seated. Within two minutes,we were greeted,by a very polite and calm,member of staff,who greeted us,and took us to be seated. We ordered our food and drinks on the app,within a couple of minutes,we had our drinks,within 15 minutes we had our food,which was delivered to the table,by our server,Ronan. We would like to give a big shout out to Ronan,our server,who was very polite,very helpful,and enthusiastic to do his job! He made the night a very pleasant one for us. :) :) :)

Came here on a busy Friday night whilst the Six Nations was on, but you wouldn’t have know it. We ordered via the app and our drinks seemed to appear almost instantly. Food followed not long afterwards. Our server Ronan was excellent, he had greeted us at the door promptly and took us to our table. Despite being very busy, he continued to check in with us regularly to ensure everything was as we wanted. Can’t fault him at all, brilliant service

Really busy pub. Fast service thought and the food is cheap enough with deals on different days. Family pub where the kids can run around with the park area outside. Nice atmosphere with lots of chatter.

Total chaos of a booking system. Told to find a table cause loads was reserved and you had to be off before then. Staff should know which tables are available ,they got a computer to tell them. Food OK, nothing special. Child running wild whilst adults watched TV.

We go every week. The staff are amazing! So attentive and always so kind.....especially Sophie. Sophie is always going above and beyond to make customers feel comfortable and happy. We love the Friday 241 burger meals. Our son loves interacting with all the staff and enjoys the play area! Over all a very happy environment that we love!

Was given a short pint of pineapple cider (£4.80 a pint) when I asked for them to top it up they said that would have been the amount of ice it would have taken up and they refused to fill up the glass. They are knowingly selling short measures. Is this a company policy or just the jobs worth behind the bar ??? As for the food warm at best. Avoid at all costs you have been warned.

We tried a variety of dishes from here, most of which were average. The staff were not particularly nice. The ambience was good. Pricing was not especially cheap either.

The dining experience was average. While we tried a variety of dishes, including beef lasagne, half chicken sizzler, tandoori chicken, salmon grill, and New Yorker chicken, none stood out. The service was average. The ambience was okay. Drinks were also average, failing to deliver any standout flavors. Overall, a mediocre dining experience.

The food was just okay . The atmosphere is brilliant. and the lasagne was average , tandoori Sizzlers was fine. Half grilled chicken was not really good. The fish fillet was just plain ,normal drinks was average . Totally it was just okay

Sadly gone down in quality of food and up in price, burgers and steaks used to be amazing but they are not any more

Not so much a Hungry Horse more a Peckish Donkey. Food was well cooked, but the portions were small and the super specials are a joke! No where near special or value for money! I had the tandoori chicken sizzler and the portion was tiny. I was left hungry, so thought I'd have the pudding thats included with the super special, sadly not all puddings are included. So had to pay for the ultimate big candy mania that sadly had no cockie dough which also came in a large pasta bowl and not a sundae glass 😕 Waiting staff were pleasant and worked hard but bar man who served us just looked like he couldn't be bothered and didn't want to be there! All in all food quality was good, just don't expect value for money! PS orange squash is over £2 a glass 😯

🎄Christmas Dinner here was great! 😀 A nice Christmas decorated atmosphere, HUGE portions of well cooked food, pleasant service and all at very reasonable prices! Also not exceptionally busy for this time of the year, so chances are high that you can make a reservation without needing to book super early.

My 70th birthday party with family was spoilt by cold food and shortfalls, running out of items, and as before waiting was 2 hours after this party had been booked and children got bored.
