The interior of the pub is dark and sticky. I should have left then but I had hopes that in a tired and underinvested place the food might make up for it. Tinned potatoes, decent (ish) quiche and a tasteless salad. Good service made up for the lack of….everything . It’s such a pity given the target audience live within walking distance.

I went to see if I could arrange a takeaway funeral buffet. The friendly helpful staff arranged a chat with Graham the owner. What a lovely man! He discussed the options and the price was very reasonable. Most helpful of all he deliverd it at exactly the time he said. It was beautifully presented and looked and tasted delicious. We have just returned from our Easter break to Evesham, and was recommended by Caroline our Airbnb host to use this pub. We were not disappointed, we had dinner on both nights of our stay, all four of us had starters and mains. The meals came out very promptly, the meals were lovely and very well priced. Our waiting staff were Aggie and Sam and both were very professional but friendly at the same time, as was Graham the owner. We have booked again for Easter next year and will certainly be returningbto the Round of Gras.

Called in here while passing, it was 5pm and the car park was almost full, however they were able to accommodate us, apparently it was carvery night which is very popular. We had a mixed grill, and two orders of chicken and mushroom pie. Goodness me, the potions were huge, and each plate of pie came with a big jug of gravy. The pie was obviously home made, pastry a bit stodgy, so left most of it and ate the filling which was tasty . It came with a massive pile of chips. We both left most of the chips, too much. The mixed grill also was huge, and a portion of it ended up being taken home for the dog. Lovely food but portions way too big, I hate wasting food.

We opted for the two-course meal for £14.95, which included a lovely homemade Christmas dinner with a selection of veg, gravy, mini sausage in bacon and mini cauliflower cheese. Having eaten that, we had festive cheese and biscuits with a salad garnish for pudding. The restaurant was decorated in festive fayre with seasonal music in the background. Me and my sister had floater coffees to drink. The evening was very merry and a good time was had, we look forward to going again in the new year.

A tab was opened up at our requested for the drinks and meal. The drinks were well chilled, which was much appreciated, as it was one of those really hot summer evenings. We took our seats, which were comfortable to browse the very well-priced and varied menu. The staff member was prompt in taking our order and the food was served quickly and well presented. The choices made were good and we both enjoyed what we had saying how well cooked it was and how tender the meat was.My partner had a dessert, which again was well presented and tasty. It is our first dining experience here, but will not be our last.

We have been going to this pub on and off for 7 years for the great atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is why we go off and on. We go and it is good so we keep going then we have a meal like last night and we stay away for the next six months. Have been going the past two months during the Asparagus menu and I have had the same meal every time. Been good to great until last night ... it was appalling. A greasy mess I had to leave on my plate. My husband had a steak which was cooked as requested, which doesn't always happen, but we ordered a 10 oz steak and received an 8 oz. We have given up on complaining as it does no good, they are polite about it but nothing really changes not even the head chef. So we will look for a new local and maybe give it a try in another six months. Such a shame.

This visit to the Round of Gras was for a birthday meal. The food was cooked as requested (rare steak) and was very tasty, filling and good value for the money. One of our party had the fish cakes off of the specials board and had two of the largest fish cakes I've seen. As this was asparagus season it only seemed fitting to try the asparagus ice cream fir dessert. As quirky and, maybe to some, disgusting sounding, it actually works. Also a point to note they have a very well attended quiz night every fortnight (Thursdays) so if you do plan to eat book early. The only real criticism is they need to vary the real ales and sometimes not quite up to the quality of some of the other local pubs.Other than that not a bad country pub. Good value, good atmosphere.

Really enjoyed the Round of Gras when we went last week. A 'no frills' , traditional British pub which was specialising in one of the great British crops- Asparagus. Service was great, with a charming waitress who was very attentive and a switched-on barman. Starters of asparagus pancakes with cheddar were delicious as was the simple asparagus wrapped in smoked salmon. The mains were even better - the gammon and eggs was a hearty portion and very well cooked and the rare steak was absolutely perfect - one of the best I have had in a restaurant ever. Only downside was the new potatoes which were cooked to death! Otherwise, great stuff all round...

Decor is pub. Service is excellent. (Table service; you don't order at the bar.)Expect a slight wait for your food because everything is cooked freshly and to order. The Round of Gras offers sandwiches, a specials board and a separate asparagus menu at this time of the year. I had asparagus with smoked bacon and parmesan which came with boiled new potatoes. It was huge! However, because there was so much of it, the cooking sauce became a little salty towards the end. Husband had the Bank Holiday carvery which was exactly what you would expect from a carvery. 3 soft drinks and two meals came to just less than £25.Food served all day. Beer garden. Child friendly. We usually go to The Round of Gras for birthday meals, but have been there for a night out. The pub is local to us, and within easy reach (about 5 miles). We eat in the resturant and have found the food to be reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and we get on with the landlord. Earlier this month we tried a carvery, which wasn't bad for £7.50 with a choice of meat and as much veg as you want. We have been during the asparagus season, and have tried various dishes from the asparagus-themed menu. We paid a visit last year and had a nice 2-course Christmas dinner. They have 'theme' nights such as Sizzler Night, Fishy Friday and Quiz Night (I don't know where Arthur gets his questions from) among others. The beer garden is nice in the summer, and we visit the budgies too (being a budgie lover & owner myself). The pub is ideal for a night out and reasonably priced considering what the chain pubs elsewhere would charge for a meal. It is advisable to book in advance as it does get busy from time to time.

We had a fantastic two course meal from the Spring Asparagus menu and have to say this was excellent food. We had the asparagus in parma ham and the homemade asparagus soup with warm baguette and for mains we had the asparagus quiche and salmon and hollandaise with asaparagus, all of which we would gladly recommend. Main meals were very reasonably priced averaging from around £8 - £12 but they also do a mid week carvery for under £6 ! I went to the Round of Gras on the weekend for my Mum's Birthday. I had eaten there previous to this but never thought to review it until now. I had both a starter and a main and both were lovely. We all had a huge portion of food so this place is definitely good value for money especially when looking at the prices compared to other pubs. It isn't the kind of place where they place your food all pretty on your plate and this isn't my favourite place to eat but I would definitely return here again as there was nothing wrong with the way the food was cooked and I left very full up!! My steak was cooked how I asked for it, which a few restaurants/pubs struggle to get right in my opinion, so that was a bonus. Definitely a recommendation if you're looking for a casual and traditional pub meal with good food.

I live locally and we eat here about once a month (it's one of two family favourites). If your idea of a good meal is paying umpteen pounds for a tiny bit of over spiced sludge tastefully decorated with a few limp bits of rocket, you probably won't be too happy here. On the other hand, if you're like us and enjoy a hefty plateful of tasty, traditional British food, you'll love it. The carvery on Wednesday evenings is superb value, nicely cooked meat and a wide choice of vegetables, mostly fresh from their taste. The normal menu, too, is good value; I think between us we've tried everything and we've never been disappointed. Always a few interesting choices on the specials board, too. Staff are always friendly and helpful, the service is good, and the Pig's Ear goes down a treat. Hmmm, that's made me hungry....

Have attended fairly regularly over the past few years, Graham & his wife run this place well and train their eager to please staff in an unusually refreshing manner, and it shows. A classical country village pub with food the centrepiece. They serve 'Weston's Old Rosie Cloudy Scrumpy Cider' and 'Duck', and I believe a whole selection of mouth-watering alternatives including Real Ales which I must try sometime, the alternatives certainly look good and my eating companions can vouch for their quality. Large on-site car park, safe garden for children and did I mention that they serve Duck?

I moved to Bretforton (the next village along) in July and have eaten at the Round of Gras 4 times. Each time I have had steak, Fillet twice, Ribeye and Sirloin. I have been with my partner twice and my family twice. We go in for drinks 3 - 4 times a week. I can honestly say that I/we have never had a bad meal here. Each time we have eaten here the food has been excellent (we eat out at different restaurants a lot!). I have worked as a chef myself and am extremely critical when I eat out and if a plate of food is not acceptable to me or I think they could improve on something, I do tell them. The staff at this pub are friendly, willing and most accommodating. We went in for a drink the night before we were due to have a family meal for my mum's birthday and I asked whether it would be at all possible to have 4 fillet steaks on that night. The next evening we had our fillet steaks (which aren't actually on the main menu and weren't on as a "special" for that night either!). I was so impressed that the chef did that for us. Each steak was cooked to perfection the way each of us like ours cooked and it just melted. We need to try the carvery next - it looks and smells lovely. I can't say enough good things about this pub - we class it as our local even though it actually isn't!

As always the carvery was excellent. We often come here on a Sunday and the meat is almost always delicious and so much of it. Gastropub it ain't but for well priced British roast it us great!

I am meeting friends here on 7th September and am already worried after reading the reviews. Our friends have picked the restaurant but they haven't been before. We only meet up once a year and so it's going to be terrible if the meal is bad. Will the chef read this I ask myself.

I booked a month and a half in advance for a family meal. I told them I was a vegetarian. I was assured by them that they have an extensive veggie menu and would have at least 3 choices. We arrived and I was given one choice, a peanut curry! Not ideal for people with a nut allergy so was told I could have smoked salmon and pasta. I explained that vegetarians don't eat fish. Then I was told that the chef would make a broccoli and potato bake with salad and garlic bread. Fine, I thought. Oh so wrong!!! I was given a dish of dry mashed potato, covered up with soggy broccoli then a bit of cheese melted on top. Salad indeed but the dressing was a dish of mustard mixed with oil. No one ever came to ask if our meal was ok and when the waitress came to clear half an hour later I told her how bad it was and that I refused to eat it. She didn't charge for my meal but at no point did the chef apologise or even come out to speak to us. I cannot describe how awful the food and service was but would implore you all to avoid this place as if your lives depended on it. Just disgraceful.

I agree with the previous reviewer - I am local, and was embarrassed when I took two Kiwis here to sample our local delicacy. The asparagus quiche contained the tough, woody stems and was inedible. It was served by disinterested staff who did not bother asking how the food was. Next time I'll stay in and cook it myself!

I eat at the Round of Gras on a regular basis and am always incredibly pleased with the standard of food they provide. The carvery is a great meal and very well priced and this is available thorughout the week at lunch and dinner times. Aside from the carvery, they have a good selection of home-cooked traditional British meals and a varied choice of specials. The pub is always busy and is very popular with locals and people from further afield. There is a large garden with play area and bbq area for warmer days and a lovely, warm, country atmosphere inside for when it is raining! The staff are always pleasant, well presented and keen to help.

The Claim by the PUB is “We Are the Only Pub in the World to Be Named After This Famous Delicacy” that’s ok but they haven’t got a clue how to cook or serve it – This was one of the most disappointed meals I have eaten, Starters Asparagus soup Yuk this was awful, tasteless, perhaps a bowl washing up liquid with a bit of msg would have tasted better than this bowl of soup, the other starter was Asparagus with smoked salmon – sounded delicious – far from it – the Asparagus was cold and wrapped in cheap smoked salmon the sort of awful bargain sort you get in supermarkets. The butter was solid and would never of melted if we had been there for a week – its seems the kitchen staff haven’t got a clue or imagination on how to serve this wonderful delicacy. The main course was just as bad - frozen veg and tasteless meat served from a carvery. I also ordered a steak it looked and tasted cheap. The steak was ordered medium rare, pity the chef didn’t have a clue how to cook it.So I wouldn’t rush to go to this place it’s dated in décor something out of the 70’s – serving tasteless food by unskilled staff.

The historic aspect of this hotel is very special. It has charming areas of the lobby to sit and relax. We had some room issues and the maintenance staff was prompt and very accommodating. However, the service in the bar and restaurant for tea and dinner were disappointing and not at all what I expect from a 4star venue. The breakfast waitresses were very kind and did a good job, but the afternoon and evening team could use some training. All the employees wear their street clothes, so it is difficult to tell the difference between guests and staff. With all the awards Lygon Arms received, I was expecting so much more.

We had a lovely night away in this beautiful hotel, with an extremely comfortable bed in a room in the main house. We had drinks in the bar before exploring the gorgeous gardens and meeting Charlie the kitten amongst the roses. Our evening meal was wonderful. We were offered complimentary Prosecco each (it was our fortieth wedding anniversary) and we started with homemade sourdough and pate which was delicious. For the mains, I chose the lamb which fell apart under my fork and my husband chose the chicken which was moist and delicious. Breakfast was equally fabulous, with a choice of cereals/juices/toast and we had the full English - one with poached egg and one with scrambled - all cooked to perfection. Great place, great food, great service from lovely, helpful and smiley staff - we will return…

My wife and I visited this pub one Sunday for dinner. Luckily they had one Sunday lunch left which my wife had. I had the steak which was cooked medium just as I had asked for.. delicious 😋 All in all the food served was delicious and the staff were very attentive. We live not too far away so we will definitely visit again soon.

Pershore Jazz Club recently ordered 100 meals from the Riverside Fish Bar for our Christmas jazz night. The food was delivered on time, and it was hot and delicious. We received favourable comments from numerous people. The reasonable priced package included salt, vinegar and sauces. The curry sauce was a popular choice. The team at the Riverside could not have been more helpful.
