We stayed in pershore on Friday the 6th September 2024 and we had fish & Chips from this chip shop and they were lovely, in fact that nice we had them again on the Saturday. Great food, you must try

Sadly turned away as it was 5 minutes before they closed and they said the friers were turned off. Poor customer service

This chip shop is the best in Pershore. Food quality, customer service and always get your money's worth. A lot of pride in the food and always a treat once a week.

Nice people. you can see all the food but the chips and that's probably got to do with their small portions, seems like a good place but the chips they give you is so little but everything else is good

Fast service and the food was great. Portion size was generous, we couldn't eat all the chips! We had a medium cod, jumbo sausage, chicken nuggets, chips and mushy peas. All were great plus free lollipop for our son!

I phoned in the order drove there immediately arriving around the suggested pick up time parked very close remained with the car while Wife collected the order, all done quickly and efficiently and most importantly cheerfully, both chips very outstanding and the fish was frankly heavenly, I enjoy fish and chips fairly regularly but it’s been a very long time since I we had it this good, thoroughly recommend!!

We did order from here 3 nights a week but unfortunately the prices have gone up and has become just like every other over priced chip shop so will be looking for somewhere else for our takeaways.

Lunch time fish and chips a no no. Scallop and fish looked golden fresh cooked, but was all batter and dried out fish. Chips much the same.

Ordered chips this evening and when we had driven ten minutes home we opened them to find most of them dark brown/ burnt! Normally very nice from here.

Got the chips quick and the fish was good but I found a small rock or pebble in one of my chips. If I had swallowed that then it could have caused damage to my insides. Never eating here again

Very rude blonde girl serving. Clearly hated her job lol and no forks for people eating their food on the Plum Festival day. If you want good customer service then go elsewhere.

Eh up, let's talk about Riverside Fish Bar in Pershore. Now, if you're after a proper good fish and chips spot, this place ticks all the boxes. The fish and chips are bang-on crispy, and they've got a menu that'll please even the fussiest eaters. The folks working there? Dead friendly, Proper nice, that. Prices won't leave you skint either. It's well reasonable. But just a heads up, this place can get packed. Tells you how tasty it is, though. So, if you're up for a top-notch fish and chips scoff, Riverside Fish Bar is spot on. get ready for a right good feed! 🐟🍟👍

Really friendly staff and manager. My mum called to inquire about my dairy intolerance and the manager was quick to inform us which items were okay. The kebab portions were generous and the chips were also. The chips were fluffy and the fish was delicious. I highly recommend this chip shop and will definitely visit here again.

Overcharged me.... Service attitude was couldn't be arsed.... Food was greasy and soggy .... Won't be returning

Lovely chip shop, friendly helpful service. Lovely chips, fish, sausages & kebabs. My daughter has a dairy intolerance & they were able to tell us what she could eat.

Only here on holiday. Read reviews on the Internet for this chippy and glad I did well worth the drive to. Friendly staff, polite and good service. Although I recommend Fish and chips we also had steak and kidney pie and curry sauce all good.

The large chips was smaller than I've had previously, the chicken nuggets aren't good at all do not buy these. Just deep fried supermarket nuggets, not chip shop battered chicken chunks. No cabbage to go with kebab meat and charged for sauces in pots rather than having them directly on our shared kebab meat . Not good at all

Could be bigger portions,for the price's charged ,and food isn't always hot .

They concentrate far too much on phone orders while ignoring the customers in the shop, poor customer service

Just waited at the counter for five minutes watching everybody ignore the customer. Left and went to Newlands. Used to be nice.

Tried to order twice, took my money but declined the orders. It's fish & chips, not rocket science...do yourselves a favour and buy your takeaway somewhere else

Massive portion - the scallops are fat and huge, chips are fab.

Wow, what a difference. After a number of visits that were less than tasty I visited this evening and all very good. New staff at the till and the two lads and one lass, none of them looking older than 16 served with politeness and fast. Usually with the queue out the door and along the shop front it was a 20 minute wait at least. Order taken and served within 10 minutes and the potions were large. Much improved and good to see some new (young) faces in the place.

No fish except cod and scampi - chips are outrageously large (fish on the other hand was very small). Long wait, soggy and generally disappointing - wouldn’t recommend.

I’ll start off by saying that if you want amazing service and amazing food, then you should bypass Riverside, and go to Newlands. Not sure what’s happened but the place has gone to the dogs. The food is awful, and the staff are no better. I went in at 9pm on a Friday night, only to find the cabinets were fairly empty. I asked for 2 cod, a mini fish, a battered sausage and a kebab. The only thing they could give me was a battered sausage, the nastiest pieces of southern fried chicken and a few portions of chips. The ‘manager’ was very rude and looked at me as if I was bonkers, requesting food that a chip shop surely would have as standard on a busy night?

I don’t think I’ve ever reviewed a chip shop before but felt an exception was required after our visit here. Not from the area we arrived in Pershore to purchase supplies from the supermarket in the town centre for our weekend self catering stay locally. Looking for a quick early evening meal the Riverside looked ok from the outside. We were served by a pleasant member of staff, who actually engaged in conversation! The fish cake and chips were about the best we have had in ages. Freshly cooked and the chips actually had potato in. If you are in the area I would recommend you try here for your takeaway meal.

Good friendly service at counter. As everywhere prices have gone up but portions still good. Plaice unfortunately was dripping in fat so can't have been too healthy. Twice out of last three visits curry sauce was very runny and watery in consistency. The best takeaway shop we've experienced in Pershore.

Order online they give you a collect time. Its saves on waiting. Be careful of the paper carrier bags. Some of mine have broken in the past when heading to put the food in the car. Take a plastic bag with you. Food is fine but miss the battered chips.

Had 2 lovely meals tonight very hot and very tasty

I visited Riverside fish bar for the first time 2 weeks ago and was greeted by very friendly staff and owner. They took my order, which by the way was cooked fresh and they offered me a Cod Bite free of charge.The premises were very clean and welcoming and well worth a visit. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our fish supper so we went back again this weekend only to enjoy the same fish supper over again. Thank you for the best fish and chips in Pershore and very well priced.

This has to be one of the worst chip shops ever I will never spend another penny here. No taste in the food soggy chips dry meat. Just a total waste of money. Sorry but only one star for the old lady who served me.

Great halloumi burgers, generous chip portions, freshly made. I'd recommend.

The fish was dry, the chips were under cooked, the chicken nuggets were hard, my daughter said the chicken burger was nice 16 pound for 3 people and only one was nice. Disappointed will not return

We have gotten food from here many times and has been good every time, but something has definitely changed. Whether the place has changed hands or chef, maybe both.. Tonight the food was absolutely inedible. Eating a chip was like roulette, some overcooked some undercooked and I even found one that was hard like a bullet, but they were all greasy... The Chicken was VERY dry and the website said it was southern fried but it wasn't. The batter on the tinned roe looked more like cake mix and was raw on the inside. The fish was watery, slimey, tasteless and still frozen in the middle (it was spat out, we don't make a habit of eating slimey fish..!) Worst £30 I've ever spent. VERY disappointed and will not be using again!!

The service was great, but the food was inedible. The chicken goujons were burned and dry, as well as far too salty to eat, absolutely disgusting. They were cooked to order and were completely dripping in oil. The chips were a mix of soggy and undercooked, which was also disappointing.

order curry sauce did not get it

Ordered online which was great. All ready when I arrived at 5:30. When I got home very disappointed to find the cod was like leather, the batter so hard you had to cut it with a chisel. Can’t help but wonder if it had been cooked at lunchtime and kept warm.

Went there today and put it in the bin when i tasted it .. Rock hard dry chips and rock hard dry sausage , been a few times now and the same won't go there again total waist of my money ... just today 17th march gave it one more chance and still the same rock hard dry chips

I've just had there chips which was so greasy it made every layer of paper wet like it was put in water for an hour then after peeling half of the chips of the soggy paper I bit in to a pretty much raw and un cooked potato after 20 minutes after finishing I get really sick and spend so much time on the toilet I actually feel asleep I can definitely say it was not for the time it's not worth the money and j would not recommend going

Am utterly outraged to hear that yet another person has been discrimated and refused service by the staff here for being medically excempt from face coverings. Cant believe how rude and abrupt they were ....Equality act 2010 !! Learn the law you vile sheep.

Great service and food. Also has a handy online ordering tool so you can collect. Fish is fresh and portions are generous.

Really disappointed to find out we were lied to about whether the food is cooked in alcohol. My partner and I visited a couple of months ago and asked if the fish was beer battered, the lady serving us seemed really put off that we'd ask such a question, and with a super rude attitude, told us it was not. A couple of nights ago a family member visited again and asked the same question, to find out the fish is beer battered. Unacceptable for a food establishment not to be transparent about their ingredients or cooking methods.

Ordered online on a Saturday night and was given a time to collect. Waited another 15 minutes only to be told they had made a mistake and would have to recook my fish. Fair enough we're only human but then after a further nearly 10 minutes I asked whats happening as its been a long time at which point the arrogant owners lost the plot and both start shouting abuse at me Probably the worst customer service I've experienced these people haven't got a clue of how you should treat your customers. Other people were horrified by your rude, abusive behaviour so hopefully you've lost more than one returning customer. Shame because the food is usually very good.

Very good and popular, you have to que as soon as they open but it's worth it.

After a lovely walk we fancied some chips and sausages. So we popped in here. I was greeted by a lady who looked like she wanted to be somewhere else and was very abrupt. I ordered 2 mini sausages and chips and a battered sausage and chips and a plain sausage and chips and a large curry sauce. The lady huffed as she had to cook food as there was not enough for my order. Others shortly followed me in and she became more frustrated. Social distancing in place but not adhered to by their work men as they were sat in there meaning only one other could enter and they invited more in whilst I was waiting.. Upon receiving my food we was pleased it was nice and hot and fresh ( so we thought) when we sat down to eat the curry sauce was missing after it was paid for, the chips were really greasy as where the battered sausages. I appreciate chip shop food can be greasy but to have grease pooring off the paper isnt right. Me, my husband and 2 children have all been unwell since eating and I'm definitely not returning. Very disappointed!! If I could give 0 stars I would..

Came here yesterday. Was pretty average chippy. Burger ok. Fish was ok. But was more disappointed with an abrupt female staff member with fake nails and counter guy (a newbie?) Flat out lying about my order. Asked for salt and vinegar on chips, checked with him if they had been done and he said they had. Unfortunately on returning to the boat they were plain. And again unfortunately we didn't have supplies to do it ourselves. Probably won't be recommending.

Went at lunchtime yesterday for fish and chips. The lady serving was very polite and very friendly. The fish was absolutely lovely and the portions were massive. Will definitely visit again next time we are in the area.

Have had many times going in here when the staff are just so blunt and rude, tonight topped it off, woman who served me seemed as if I was an inconvenience being there and then missed things off my order, only ordered two meals so not sure how that went so wrong! Please get happier staff or get the current ones to cheer up! Will be going elsewhere in pershore now for chips

Not been for a while as we were not too impressed on a last visit but my word what a change and a delight! Ordered on line and picked up with no wait, wonderful fish and chips and lovely hard working, kind ladies behind the counter, such a wonderful experience in such times, thank you all ever so much and we will certainly be back soon☺

All good traditional fish and chips sausage especially nice would recommend good portions, parking bit awkward as it's on busy road , I used asda car park short walk away.

A few friends popped over and we decided to have chippy food. We all had different food, sausages, battered sausage, scallops, chips, curry sauce, etc and at 1pm they had nothing in. Everything had to be cooked fresh.... It was worth it! The chips here are always awesome, fluffy in the middle, golden brown on the outside. All was cooked really well, just a shame about the wait! Good potion sizes too!

Just had a great fish and chip lunch for 26 persons. Put the order in in advance, it all came out brilliantly. They even put each persons name on each order. Well done all. Vindicatrix Association. Severn Area Branch.

Clean and tidy shop. Have to say i was impressed with the food, Chips were perfect and so was the fish also it was a generous portion. would visit again if i'm ever working in the area again.

Group booking ordered the day before Catered for 25 all correct and great fish and chips back soon. This was a takeaway order.

I really wasn't impressed with my visit to this chippy today, I've been here alot over the years when visiting friends and family in Pershore. I have worked in a fish bar for numerous years and know the basics that every chippy should have, give and take each chippy having it's own twist. The lady that served me tonight was very rude and blunt, and if I'm honest her attitude absolutely stank! She was very sly when she was talking to me, she was coming as close as she could to me, this was blatantly so her employer couldn't hear what she was saying. I asked for food to be cooked for me as I could see that they didnt have enough in the cabinets and I was told "no, we're not cooking anymore." Seriously? Not cooking anymore at 8pm when they don't even close until 10pm! I can guarantee I will never return to this chippy, and neither will any of my friends or family who are locals.

I'm quite surprised of the negative reviews I've seen here lately for the riverside. I only stop in every few months. Had the mini fish meal for ,£3.90 and it was nice. Hubby had the sausage one. Staff always lovely. I enjoyed mine!

Had a regular kebab meat and chips (mixed meat). HUGE portion and vary tasty for only £4!!! Personnel very amiable.

Recently refurbished not to expensive either ok when you fancy fish and chips.

Had tandoori Chicken meat and chips and they were gorgeous. All the other food looked very nice and judging by the queue alot of locals agree with me

Recently revamped still the same variety of items available Week nights best to visit early to avoid any waiting as may sell out early Kebabs recommended by my son !!

I had a hungry mouth at home to feed so called in for fish & chips. I wasn't very hungry myself but saw they had mini cod portions and also a mini fish special which I ordered. My son's fish was very nice - a large piece of freshly cooked cod in a light crispy batter. The mini cod was tough and dry with very little fish content and what appeared to be layers of batter. I'm wondering if they offer the mini cod as a way of using up less fresh fish? Very disappointed.

Spring rolls were frozen week before last and kebab meat not cooked properly last week not going back again. Has gone down hill since new manager bring back the original staff aways used this fish shop no more

Nice chips and you can pay with a card here which is a bonus.
