I can only assume that since my last visit, this great chippy has changed hands and with that they have changed their cooking oil and potatoes both showed tonight, as with taking over any successful business golden rules...if it wasn't broken then don't try and fix it!!!

Always good, generous portions, probably the best chippy in town.

I thought all fish and chip shop sausages and chips taste, give or take, about the same. They are hardly complex food items afterall. However Posh Plaice have manage to take a fairly bland collection of foods and remove any flavour you'd expect. If it wasn't for the curry sauce I would have thought I was ill and my taste buds had packed up. Has anyone who works there tried the sausages...if they did and though "mmm that's tasty" have a word with yourself. Does anyone in there know how to make batter thats crispy? If yes, must have been their day off. Surely you try the food at your competitors and take some pointers. The overall 2 stars are only there because of the enthusiasm of the staff member who served me, otherwise it wouldn't have been that high.

Delicious fish big white flakes of cod in a light crispy batter, kabab meat tastes lovely kids love the sausage, chips are cooked lovely to, have been going there a while never had a bad meal very reasonable price and generous portions, staff are friendly and helpful

Food was nice but got my order wrong I ordered 3 sauseges got charged for 3 and got home only had 2

Tonight on 18th July 2023 7.25 pm asked for a cod bites meal with chips and curry sauce got home find that the others meals right but there was no chips in cod bites and no curry one un happy son ...

Best chip shop in Evesham no doubt

Had a mixed kebab and chips from there today quite possibly the worst kebab i've ever eaten. The chicken was like mushed up baby food absolutely vile

i’m updating this review now that was the case back then but i do not know what has happened to this place 2 weeks on the trot now awful food i’m sorry to say there is a new guy there doesn’t speak much english looks completely out of place has no idea what he is doing he is not good for your business i’m afraid!! the scallop i had looked and tasted like it had been there for a week the southern fried chicken was disgustingly greasy absolutely dripping in grease my tinned roe was soggy chips with black eyes all over them honestly it was revolting never ever again such a shame used to be a top chip shop not Avoid this place sorry to say waste of money horrible food

Ordered Plaice and Chips for my Mum’s 80th Birthday dinner. Not only was the food freshly cooked and delicious but they gave me some chocolates for my Mum as well. First rate service and would highly recommend… well done guys!!

Had 3 large cod 1 portion of chips and 1 batterd sausage nice and tasty ,but the fish is so small what's happened to is size and to charge 6.80 '👎

I'm not impressed ! Ordered 1 small cod,1 large cod,large chips & curry sauces. Got home to find the large cod is literally 2 inches longer than a small. £3.70 for the small & £6.50 for a large. Portion size and quality of the food have gone downhill - won't be returning. Rather sit in traffic and go up to Hampton Chippy for quality fish and chips

Visiting family in evesham and brother recommended the posh place. Can't fault them the shop was spotless and the staff friendly and very efficient. Food was fantastic and price very reasonable. Very happy and will 100% use them again when I come back.

So go to see that posh place is under New ownership. We no longer have the smell of old oil. Tried it out last week first class . Good tasting . No longer greasy . All round far better fish and chips One of the best around now Congratulations to the new owners

Food was excellent! Portion sizes were great too. I was served by a young guy and he was chatty, nice and helpful. Definitely will be coming back.

Only just moved to the area and we had a meal delivered from there on Sunday.Well what can I say its the best meal we have tasted from a fish and chip shop.My husband had donor kebab and jo jo's best he's ever had and I had classic fish and chips and it was amazing,beautiful fish and chips defo best I've ever had.And delivery was fast plus the food was still piping hot when arrived,not like another place we tried the food was cold not nice.We would defo recommend posh plaice.5 star.

Really happy with our food today. Loads and loads of chips in a Large portion. Jumbo sausages were perfect. Chicken was nicely done and donner kebabs were decent. Best part was they put bubbles and sweets with my sons meal and he was so happy! Made his day! Thank you for going the extra mile with the kids meal. Really lovely! P.s. Delivery was fast and socially distanced. Very impressed!

Food lovely and hot, always arrives within about 15 mins of delivery time, kebab meat cooked perfectly, only lose a star for the cod which is a lot smaller than other places in Evesham although that said, it was lovely! Get bigger pieces of cod for the full 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wouldn't recommend the chicken we had four pieces last Saturday 30th January and made us very bad sickness and diarrhoea for two day we had to have one day off work just fully recovered. They cook the chicken with the jojo potatoes and keep it warm the pieces we have could been warmed back up 😱

Have had superb delivery. Really lovely lamb kabab, loads of really nice salad. Chips were really hot Also SFC wrap was lovely. Will definitely make it a regular thing Definitely recommend

Almost as good as prison food. Chips wasn't great, but at least edible, just about. My beef and onion pie, on the other hand, tasted awful and the pastry, was more like a cracker. How long it was in the warmer for, Im not sure, I would want to know. I would rather go hungry, than ever go near the food from there.

Its now 7.35 still not received delivery cost 2.50 called shop.4 times answer machine.again

Always top quality! JoJo's are the best around, halloumi burgers are a bonus and the new delivery service can't be faulted! Keep up the good work, you guys are doing a fab job.

Lovely food, click and collect is an awesome idea

I’ve never been here before and after reading reviews nearly didn’t go at all! I had Southern fried chicken and partner had a donner kebab and a large chips and we both really enjoyed our food. Portion sizes are a good size and everything was cooked perfectly. Thank you 🙏

We went here on Saturday, the food was excellent and the service. It is great to see a few new things on the menu,I tried the jo jo’s they were excellent also tried the cheesy chips....fantastic

Called in a couple of nights ago, for fish and chips, was wary after recent reviews. Have to say that fish and chips we had were the best we had in a long time, excellent too with a smile.

Chips dripping with grease and uncooked fish.

Had been elsewhere of late but saw that they have Jo Jo's on their menu now so thought i'd give them a try again. Called in last night and was well impressed with the service and more importantly the food. Had a lovely piece of fish, and the Jo Jo's were very tasty. I will definitely be back, I recommend a visit.

I find the food here very hit and miss , sometimes it is great while other times it can be awful. The service is never friendly or with a smile, Some of the Staff are efficient others are just arrogant . I have given up on Posh Plaice and will not be visiting again.

Poorly cooked and tasteless. Went straight in the bin after one bite. Would not recommend - everything tasted overly greasy.

Used to be OK, but has gone down hill. Chips are overly greasy . They’re also really precious over their salad and won’t let you have any in a tray with kebab meat. The kebab meat we had this evening wasn’t even warm, let alone cooked.

Used to be one of the best fish and chip shops in town but has lost it. The last order was excessively greasy and the chips didn't look like they were cooked in a hot enough oil. I suspect they have turned the fryers down to save money but have instead ruined the food and lost a customer in they process.

Have used Posh Plaice for many years without complaint, however todays order was dreadful, the fish was so greasy that we had to remove all the batter, the chips used to be a reasonable portion but this was paltry. Will need to find another takeaway now.

Popped in for pie & Chips Saturday lunchtime..had to wait for chips to cook, got home and found the chips literally swimming in oil and all the large chip's uncooked..plus the pie was Luke warm. Think the guy in charge of cooking was rushing them because a queue was building up all waiting for chips, needs to make sure cooked & let the fat drain before serving... Avoid at all cost !

Good fast service will use again

Fish and chips were obviously re-heats or had been standing a while. Fish was tiny and dry as a bone.......cat enjoyed it , chips were brown shriveled and horrible , id rather have eaten a portion of razor blades. Shant be going again anytime soon.

Oh dear....... simple order of Large fish & chips with a tub of mushy peas. What could possibly go wrong?... chips, large enough i guess.. fish, may have been better off with a Birdseye fish finger.. mushy peas?...now this was a suprise.. a tub with something that was more like runny vomit than mushy peas.... guess we wont be back to Posh Plaice any time soon....
