The Rockfish Brixham in Torbay

The food quality was amazing, great atmosphere and an outstanding view. One of the best restaurants in Brixham. All the fish is fresh from the South West and it was delicious.

Food was gorgeous, place comfortable and clean as a pin, staff were perfect blend of friendly efficient and knowledgeable. Loved every minute. I had the Brill which was delicious, with chips (really bottemless and they ask if you are ready for more) hot and super crispy. Anchovi mayonnaise gorgeous with the chips, and incredible garlic slaw. Partner had John Dory, equally delicious. Both dishes were catch of the day, and explained to us by our server. Never felt hurried, staff really pleasant and chef seemed genuinely happy to hear we liked the food when we got a quick chat before leaving. Highly recommend.

Celebrating a friends birthday we elected to go on the Terrace but the weather let us down so we retreated inside.. The waitress as usual was a delight The staff really do enjoy their jobs.. writing the prices on the tablecloth menus with great enthusiasm. Some of the prices a bit high! We had Scallops for starters which were superb.. then two of us had Hake as in Fish and chips, very good and generous portions.. Two others had Bream which was really tasty and beautifully cooked. House white wine was good. Crème Brûlée was lovely and my coffee with Cognac and ice cream finished my meal with style.

Great service, friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Wonderful fish beautifully cooked and limitless chips. A lovely view of the harbour to enjoy as well.

Die Dover Sole mit einem Preis von 40 Pfund hatte zwar einen bunten Teller, aber sonst gab es lediglich ein paar Kartoffeln als Beilage. Der Fisch war nicht durchgebraten und die Bedienung ehr, untypisch für die Region, geschäftsmässig. Dann der Versuch mit Fish and chips. Ja, der Fisch war gut, die Chips aber ungeniessbar versalzen. Trübt die Urlaubsfreude und sollte man sich nicht antun. Dazu gibt es gute Alternativen in Stadt Brixham.

Been coming to Brixham for about 8 years now. And we’ve never visited Rockfish! What a place! The food was sensational and the view was an added extra! Compliments to the chefs that were cooking. The waitress staff that could not do enough very attentive and friendly. The food was expensive but was worth it! We would pay the money to come again for the food alone. What more could you ask for. Will definetly be visiting again.

I’m afraid the food let the restaurant down, we recently visited the restaurant and I would say the food was mediocre at best, we are big foodies especially seafood and fish and we were disappointed. I thought because we are coming into cuttlefish season I would try it, to say it was over cooked and over seared would be an understatement, it was so charred it became extremely bitter, it was presented as just two pieces of cuttlefish on a plate, not a garnish in sight, no lemon, no parley, nothing at all I wish I had taken a picture, my wife had break with a Greek salad, the fish again was very over cooked and the Greek salad looked like it had been chucked on the plate under the bream, big clumps of red onion 🤦‍♂️ I have given the review 3 stars because the service was great, such a shame to be let down by the food.

Absolutely faultless meal topped off with incredible service. My wife & I (and now our young children) have been holidaying in Brixham annually for the past 10+ years and we both agreed that our meal last night was the best we have ever had in Brixham. I ordered the Monkfish and it was perfect, full of flavour and not too big. My wife ordered the Lobster which was sublime and a really good size for the price. Again, cooked perfectly and the lobster meat was so juicy and flavourful. She has tried lobster at a couple of other places in Brixham, but this was the best she has had. Desserts were spot on too, we had lemon tart and crème brûlée and couldn’t fault either of them, absolutely delicious. We got chatting to the lady who potentially was the manager (?) who asked us about our day as we arrived, we told her it was our mum & dad’s night out after a hectic day keeping our kids occupied, and after she had seated us, she kindly bought us over 2 x glasses of Prosecco before our meal arrived and we were absolutely over the moon with this kindness! The service throughout our meal was fantastic too, the restaurant was busy (which wasn’t an issue, we expect this everywhere with it being the kids summer holidays), but our food came in no time and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The overall ambience of rockfish feels lively without feeling busy and it is a lovely modern place to sit and take in the beautiful view of Brixham, even on a rainy day. We will definitely be back again without a doubt! Hopefully once more before the end of our holiday.

Really lovely evening at rockfish. We are a family of 4 with 2 young kids and they looked after us brilliantly for an early dinner. I’m veggie and had the artichoke tacos (with a side of chips) - they were delicious, I wasn’t expecting much from the non fish choices but I was really blown away. My husband had the halibut with chips and my girls both had chicken and chips from the kids menu. Couldn’t fault any of it, and I can imagine the fish and chips would have been even better. Staff were really friendly, welcoming and efficient. Highly recommend

We was looking forward to what we thought would have been the best restaurant of our holiday but unfortunately it was not,the food did not match the price,don't get me wrong,the food was nice but not worth the price,i knew what i had picked wasnt cheap but thought it would be worth it,given the hype of this restaurant,£130 for 2 adults & a child,definitely not worth it,we have tried to pick the best eateries since we have been here & without a doubt The Watermans Arms is by far the best & the Rockfish due to the price is at the bottom of the list,we have had the same quality fish & chips for less than half the price,the photos show the price,s & I chose the Dover sole for £40 a fish they sell down stairs for £13.95

We were impressed with the menu choice, presentaion of the dishes and how tasty the food was. The service was efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. We were offered unlimited chips with our dishes, but only had one portion which was sufficient. My IPA to drink was good too. The only problem for me was that we spent ~£45 per person for lunch. I suppose this should be considered on par with a high end fish/seafood restaurant not a fish and chip outlet! There was a set menu with this on though. Overall a good experience.

Arrive a little early, and was offered a rable with a view to the harbour..stunning ..We had a scrumptious meal, I had the roasted plaice and my husband had grilled monkfish tails..both were delicious...it was so nice my husband bought me the book! We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience at Rockfish. Staff were welcoming, friendly, and efficient. We chose from the good choice of daily specials and weren't disappointed with the freshness, cooking, and presentation of our choices of more unusual fish, megrim and pollack. We had an excellent Loire sauvignon to accompany them.

Lovely place overlooking the harbour with great views, a brilliant choice of fish and attentive staff. The vegetarian option was good, too.

The waiter was incredibly knowledgable and enthusiastic! Would highly reccomend, it's the 2nd time we've been and both times have been lovely. I wasn't keen on any of the cocktails they had so they happily swapped to something I preferred. The curry sauce is amazing and both fish we had, the Gurnard and Monkfish were sensational and we felt were good portion sizes.

Love this place! Its our families favourite when we visit Brixham, theres always a new dish to try, im not the bravest with seafood and i havent been disappointed yet! Our waitress was lovely, very friendy and attentive. The atmosphere and the views over the harbour make it more than your average fish and chips.
