The Robin Hood Hungry Horse in Tunbridge Wells

We returned to this pub for a family meal and weren't disappointed. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive especially our server Zak. All food was cooked and presented well especially the steak with mushrooms. Was a nice evening so ate outside and afterwards watched the football on the garden tv. Will return without doubt.

Food was ok for the cost, service was awful. We walked in to all available tables dirty and not been cleared which is fine as we could see it was busy. We approached The manager/ or assistant manager and asked if they would mind quickly wiping our table from food as we had cleared the plates ourselves and she suggested we should use the spray and cloth to clean the dirty table ourselves as she was trying to clear the empty tables plates when we asked them to clean it - which we did.

Came into the Robin Hood on Saturday the 20th and couldn’t fault the place again, was served by Louis on the bar who was very insightful and helpful with everything, and carried over our teas and coffees for us, the food was great, service was excellent an all round pleasant experience.

Really good quality, value food. Bit of a wait to order and for service but ckaen and not to busy. Not much atmosphere, but it's not an old pub. Definitely worth visiting .

The good was dismal, to say the least.Not enough staff, especially as it was Easter Sunday, even though we had reserved a table, we still had to wait 30 mins before being seated. I was not even acknowledged when I went to the bar, which, being an ex-landlord, I find extremely rude. The tables were incredibly sticky, the flush on the disabled toilet was broken,which, if I recollect correctly, apologies if wrong, was broken in November. Myself and my family will not be back again.

Absolutely fantastic service from barmen Ben and Richard to prompt service from William and Charlie to very delicious and great value food cooked by Chefs Liam and Matt. VERY worth a visit !!

Met up with friends for a few drinks. Service was amazing, very friendly bar staff, shout out to Terri and Rebecca! Will be back soon!

Plus the managers are so lovely , they go so above and beyond I could hug them . I love all the old men and their stories from the war .

We came across Robin Hood on our road trip. On first arriving, we chose a seat and proceeded to order via the app. I fancied a rhubarb gin but prefer it with lemonade, we thought we had ordered this, but my gin came out with tonic and a separate glass of lemonade. I added the lemonade to my gin in the hope that it would improve it, but it didn't it wouldve been good if when i chose Gin maybe a drop down menu could appear offering the mixer i prefered. Tbh, the food came out not long after, and it tasted really good. The service was superb, and the food was hot and tasty. This is why I didn't mention the drink and why I have still given 5 🌟. Although it wasn't overly busy, there was a large group celebrating an 18th birthday, yet the food was still brought out quickly. I do think had I mentioned my drink, it would've been sorted without question. I would recommend this pub and would have no problem coming here again if I was in the area.

Richard served us this evening and was lovely - we popped here for dinner and had a lovely evening, the food was really nice with a good selection of vegetarian and vegan options for both of us.

Came in for dinner on Tuesday 5th March and can’t fault it enough, can’t explain how much value for money this place is, me and friends ordered two fish and chips and two chicken skewer mix it ups, and the quality and speed of service was amazing, the chef and Richard on the bar were brilliant.

Nice pub, decent food at good prices

We booked a table for 9 people plus a highchair. When we arrived there was no table reserved for us. Were told to find ourselves a table. When looking in the restaurant there were no clean tables. All tables had dirty plates and glasses on them! We then had to make ourselves a table big enough for us all. We ordered our food, which arrived promptly. We had to clear our own starter plates onto a table behind which already had dirty plates on them. The steaks were tough, but all other food was average. On leaving all the tables were still full of empty plates and dirty glasses!

I love this place visit regularly!!! Its definitely my go too !! They even hosted a birthday party put on an amazing spread in the buffet !! Staff are welcoming and so helpful and the food is soooooo good!!! Great outside area too relax in too!!

Unexpected trip to Pembury hospital and wanted to go somewhere for lunch, this was the first place that came up and was outstanding. Staff were very friendly and the food was great. Highly recommend!

Regularly come to the Robin Hood in Tunbridge Wells when down for work, haven’t been in a while and the standards have elevated came in on Thursday February 1st at around 7 o clock and couldn’t fault it, food was amazing; came out quickly, hot, presented well, give the chef on shift a pay rise, as it was busy and was knocking the food out the park.

I came in here and ordered with my family and the service that rescived from the two young lads (Codey and Charlie) was exceptional and the management was so polite and welcoming

Unfortunately we had to listen to this guy swearing all the time and not one member of staff approached him to get it stopped we were going to have a pudding but decided we couldn't hear that anymore what shame as normally all ok .

Small portions all meals had about 10 chips we all left still hungry and had to eat at home great for my birthday meal out and the food tasted as though it had been pre cooked and reheated before coming out also it came way to quickly to have been freshly cooked I know it was quiet but was too quick and not hot enough to have been cooked fresh. we have been coming here for the last 10 years but this was the last time we will be visiting.

Perfect place to enjoy a nice meal with family or friends. The venue is Always clean, staff are friendly and food is delicious!

Ordered half and Guinness and chicken wrap for a quick on the road lunch. Drink arrived okay. 30 mins later I’m having to ask about the wrap. It then arrives. It’s a chicken wrap, not a risotto from scratch. General feel of incompetence about the place. Not recommended.

Not for me ,but was quite busy-ish , burger I had wasn't cooked enough, "a bit red " the place needs a bit of work looked very shabby . Won't be going back .

Great food, lovely staff and amazing value

Our food was stone cold, and we had to send back two of the meals and some garlic bread. When it came back it was over-microwaved and the garlic bread was burnt. There was also a nightclub in the bar - so loud the barman...

Don't go for decor or atmosphere, but certainly go for reasonably-priced well-cooked food.

Food was a lot better than when I was last there about 10 months ago. Seem to have improved a lot. I am dairy free and they were very helpful with that. Very slow to order as not enough staff behind bar.

I had a lovely meal out with my boyfriend at this pub! I was served the manager and he was absolutely amazing! He made us feel very welcomed and accounted to all our needs! Will definitely be returning!

This is a nice welcoming pub, staff are all friendly and helpful. The food is very nice especially the korean chicken burger!! Good priced decent pub grub :) We have been a few times now and will be returning again Thank you.

I eat here everyday i am working. The food is decently sized for the price, and the staff are great. They do occasionally get food customisation wrong, but they will fix the issue if addressed.

Gave me a meat lasagne and I'm a vegetarian and really wasn't that bothered that they got it wrong

Had a meal but once ordered had to wait 1 hour for the food then went to order deserts and waited another hour after ordering them.Service was very por and one of the deserts was barely warm and was still cold in the middle.I won't be going there again for a meal.

It was ok, the food was average I had a medium-rare steak that you needed chainsaw to cut, portion size was small on my plate. Twenty chips and a teaspoon of peas. Wouldn't rush back there. The waiter however was very nice and attentive 👍

I have eaten here with my family on many occasions but sadly today was a bit of a disappointment..My mum n I ordered pie, mash n peas , there were no peas infact hardly any veg due to the produce delivery being late the only thing on offer was corn on the cob so we went with it & the staff were very apologetic..Then dessert took ages ( I think we were forgotten) after asking again dessert finally arrived, missing a key ingredient, no strawberries, we were told there weren't any so ended up with a doughnut n cream...when I explained we were not told about this all we got was " we only just realised we didn't have any" we should have just got our money back to be honest but we'd waited so long, again we just went with it.. I know it's not the staff's fault but badly managed ...don't think we'll be back

Not a good experience. Very grateful they were able to seat a large party at short notice. A meal was missed and then when we asked for it we were told we hadn't paid for it, luckily we asked for a receipt when ordering. That meal arrived when everyone was almost done, another meal (mixed grill) had the steak missing and when it arrived it was very rare (should have been medium). My sons burger was so stale it was harder than a rock, i wish I was exaggerating buy even the staff were appauled. To their credit the wait staff sorted everything and were very apologetic and helpful but the kitchen definitely needs work. Won't be going back.

Don't really know where to start, our reservation for 7 hadn't been set up for us even though we booked days ahead, so a scramble to cobble together some tables that hadn't been cleared. We was then told the kitchen closes at 7.45pm when our reservation was at 8. Luckily, we was very early. The website said 9pm but the staff said due to staff shortage it had to be earlier, they was turning away customers all the time we was there. The poor staff were run off their feet, trying to keep everyone and everything going but the meals arrived at different times with missing bits from what was meant to be there. Shame really but felt for the staff 😕

Great friendly pub with welcoming staff that were happy to have a chat and a good laugh.

Since my last visit these have changed the menu and maybe not for the best money wise, however there are still the favorites to chose from. On a Tuesday you had the choice from a list for £7 these have now gone up to £10 I guess keeping in tow just like everyone else. That said I would still come back as on both occasions service has been quick and friendly l.

To sum up my experience, I ordered a grilled meal, i got boiled/steamed food....the worst experience ever, i regret going there, was very disappointed, felt disrespected as there was no effort out into grilling anything

The atmosphere in the pub the service and food were all great. We'll certainly eat here again.
