The Riverside Inn in Ashford

Very nice little place. The lady serving us was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. We had baguettes with chips answered the food was top quality. Our son had something off the kids menu which was also lovely. Portion sizes great!

Excellent friendly helpful service with a wonderful carvery Sunday lunch. We made our reservation online and by mistake booked Saturday instead of Sunday - but the wonderful ladies who met us did their utmost to not only make space for us but also to make us feel welcome and as comfortable as possible. We couldn’t speak highly enough of the excellent service, food and friendly kindness at this place. Will definitely come again when we next visit Ashford.

Warm and friendly with good menu choices

Great place to go to. Easy to access, Christmas menu was good but could do with veggie alternative "meat" options. Otherwise really lovely place to go to.

Yet another successful Christmas get-together with the family. Food was delicious and the service excellent.

If I could give this ten stars I would. What a find for Sunday lunch for 4 on the spur of the moment. You have to book or you will be disappointed. Not with the food though. What fantastic choice of meat and deserts with great service and hospitality we were not rushed either. I would highly recommend this pub. I would have every lunch there if I was local too thank you.

Lovely food great service always quick

After passing the Riverside Inn on dozens (or hundreds) of times, I had never seen anything about it to attract me and my wife to venture in for a meal, thinking it was just another pub, plus we weren’t sure how to get to it anyway, but we decided to give it a try, being well prepared to be disappointed, and tick another possible venue off our list, as we have done on so many occasions. We found the Riverside Inn and entered, it was very cold outside, but we were welcomed by a lovely warmth in the bar, and a warm welcome by the landlord and his very charming waitress, the decor of the bar and restaurant was appealing, the area was clean and very presentable, we were shown to our table by the lovely Emily, who really looked as to enjoy her work, (as a side issue, she had beautiful brown eyes and a lovely smile) she was helpful, kind, and efficient, and had a warm sense of humour. The food in the Riverside Inn was as good as any that we have tried, and there was a very good range, and large portions. We offer the restaurant and staff 9.5/10 (no Guinness zero) We look forward to our next visit, when we will try the Sunday lunch. Peter and Rosslyn Allen

Nice place my steak was tuf served with a salad which was just a garnish, orders skinny steak with green salad, hunter chicken was just a chicken breast with a little cheese on top and under cooked bacon, skin left on the chicken which was not crisp and no bbq sauce basically ok but won't go back.

Booked this for a late lunch prior to going to the cinema. Not sure what to expect but - the Sunday Roast was superb, 3 had the lamb and I had the chicken, chicken was good but wished I had, had the lamb when I saw it. Followed it with a pudding and all for £20. Excellent food, service and a bargain. Highly recommended.

Meh, was okay I guess. A bit expensive for what it is. Some members of party has the roast, some of the beef was un-edible, as tough as boot. My burger was nice but not worth £16…. The crackling was nice though. Probably wouldn’t eat here again though. Staff were very nice though and the food came out quite quick.

What a lovely little pub! Set just off of the road near ashford designer outlet! A lovely little find! Brilliant menu, plenty of choice for all, with lots of different dishes - even the pickiest people would be able to find something! Food is delicious! We all had something different, and we all loved our choices! We ordered: chicken fajita’s, quesadillas, steak and mushroom pie and sirloin steak! Hot food, very yummy and packed full of flavour! Beautifully presented and a decent sized portion! We were served by Emily, who was amazing! So friendly and welcoming! A true asset to the team! We look forward to returning in the future! This pub is fantastic. The food is delicious and the staff are wonderful. I would like to mention Emily in particular. The service she provided was outstanding. She was kind, helpful, polite and professional. I have Coeliac Disease and therefore require a gluten free diet. I have to say, it was one of the best gluten free meals I've had. The other three people in my group do not have not Coeliac Disease, and they said their meals were delicious too.

I live nearby so I go here to eat as often as I can - certainly if I want a special evening out with family or friends. The food is delicious!

Booked for a party of 14 of us, and right from the booking the staff were very helpful as we had a number of diatry requirements which they were able to help us with. We had a very warm welcome when we arrived and the food was served promptly, and all came out together, which doesn't always happen ever where I have been. The food was really great, everyone loved their food. And the staff were lovely. We sat in the markey, which was spacious, and suited us ver well. This is not an area we visit often, but if we are back this way, I would definitely choose this pub again.

Great atmosphere but food is just not that good. Where are these 5 star reviews coming from? Place is nice, staff is nice. Presentation of food is nice (for bangers and mash, tower burger is bad), but burger patty is dry, bread is bad, its like supermarket £2 bread qualify.

Just had Sunday roast, food was very tasty, and service was first class, as always.

We drove miles to eat here as it was supposed to be dog friendly and we really fancied the rib meal. Upon arrival after ordering drinks at the bar we were unpolitely told that because we had a dog we had to eat on the sofa in the corner that didn't even have a dinning table! It would have been quite awkward obviously to try and eat ribs sat on a sofa especially with a dog. We drank our drinks and left to find an actual dog friendly pub.

Tower burger, Jacket with prawns and Jacket with cheese and bacon. All really good, properly prepared and well priced. The pub seemed a bit quiet for a Saturday in August by the river but likely that was the rain. There is a good choice on the menu and the food on the other tables looked good. The burger was 8oz, thick, juicy and tasty, quite dense. The egg yolk was just liquid and the whole assembly looked great. The fries were hot and crispy and the salad fresh. My companions said there were loads of filling for the potatoes and no chance of going hungry. Good service, clean pub with a good atmosphere. We'll go again.

Went for a family meal with 5 of us and the food was amazing, service friendly and I would return without thinking about it. Their homemade pie was to die for.

This was our 1st time at The Riverside Inn. The service was warm and welcoming from the minute we stepped through the door. The food was absolutely incredible. Hot, so delicious and the BEST pub roast dinner we've ever had. Great selection of meats which melted in your mouth, brilliant array of vegetables that were cooked to perfection. We were stuffed but we had to try the lemon merengue pie, once more the BEST pie we've had. We will most certainly be back, thank you to all that looked after us during our visit.

Took friends to Jon & Teresa’s lovely restaurant and after bigging it up beforehand, was so pleased that the food was as good as it always is. We had Lamb shanks and Steak & Stilton Pie and thoroughly recommend either. There was a short wait for main course but everything is cooked fresh and it arrived at the table roasting hot and oh so tasty. Dessert too was great and arrived promptly. Service too was great. Be back soon.

8 of us went here for my 11 year old sons birthday meal. Service was amazing, very friendly and welcoming staff! Food was lovely and portion sizes were generous. We were asked about dietary restricitions straight away. Oir veggie had lots of options. Clean and comfortable with very spacious grounds (great play equipment for kids!) Highly recommended for any occasion. Huge marquee outside is great for events. Looking forward to returning!

Such a lovely friendly family environment with amazing food. The staff are friendly and efficient and the managers are visable and very much the glue that holds the place together. Lovely child friendly dog friendly out door space which includes garden and marquee so suits all weathers. Couldn’t recommend them enough. Ticks all the boxes.

A real hidden gem. Have just visited here twice while on Easter Hols in Broadhembury and have had 2 very pleasant family meals. A good range of choice on menu, beautifully cooked at a fair price. 3rd attempt at visiting for Sunday roast as it was recommended so very good , our table wasn't ready when we arrived and told the people on it where just finishing their pudding. 10 minutes later their pudding was served to them they hadn't even had it yet. Got seated at 4.35 the 2 youngest where already fed up but we ordered our food before the table was ready so we just had to wait. Food arrived 15 minutes later then 2 to 3 minutes later we had a quality check and then we said everything was ok as we hadn't had chance to tuck in. Discovered that mine and my daughters land was really fatty , I expect a bit but not this much. One whole slice of hers was pure fat so why was it even served 🤔? I picked some meat of one of my slices and the 2nd I couldn't even cut it was so fatty so left it. Couldn't get the attention of staff as it was busy and I don't appreciate having to leave my table at dinner to find a member of staff so waited until afterwards as did another table over the other side of the restaurant. The staff member was very rude to the lady over their because she had the same thing happen and the approach from the member of staff was very harsh and very rude. She had the same response towards me when I said about the meat and then another lady came over and asked about it and apologised but didn't offer any goodwill. Shame we were just about to try dessert but didn't want to spend another £50 after that very poor customer service. I have worked in and cooked in many restaurants my entire life and never in a million years would I have served that meat nor spoken to customers that way . Such a shame . We won't be returning. My guess is our recommendation was from when previous owners where at the helm.
