It has great atmosphere, fun staff that are genuinely friendly and good food. Loved the burgers and the pizzas.

Group of 7 looking for pizza and beer. Didn't even order due to rude staff. Nearly empty at 7:30 on a Monday. Before we'd even ordered the bar staff were strangely rude. It's seat yourself but they approached us annoyed by the seats we chose. We were a group of 7 and they wanted to cram us into a 6 top rather than let us use two 4 tops. We agreed to move and the staff member continued to be short with us even though we'd agreed to relocate. We decided to leave after the interaction as it didn't bode well for service. Went around the corner to another pizza spot and had excellent service.

Absolutely loved coming here!! The Dodo burger was out of this world, the best tasting I've ever had! Great vibes and good music! Will 100percent return, no doubt!

I think you need to change your system so that if a table is reserved at some point in the evening, you put something on the table to warn walk ins. You were kicking people off tables for people that had reserved but the poor people that were sat having a drink had no idea they couldn't sit on the table.

Even though it was a weekday, we had difficulty finding a seat. We preferred pizza and we liked it very much. This way, we understood better why it was crowded. A warm and pleasant place. I recommend. You will definitely enjoy it

I'm really into burgers. I eat burgers often and I've had the good and the bad. The burger I had here is possibly the best I've ever had. Definitely the best I've had this year. Bravo. (I had the Big D double patty).

Always the first stop on our annual Jericho pub crawl. Food and service were great and our party of 10 was well looked after. Would thoroughly recommend the burger bowl option for a lighter meal

I'm new to Oxford and been to a fair few places The Rickety is one of the better ones I've been too. Good atmosphere and staff are super welcoming and helpful.

We booked well ahead for 10 of us for lunch on the Sunday of the half marathon. We arrived and couldn’t even fit into the pub. Our tables hadn’t been reserved. We tried for 20 minutes to speak to the two frantic staff members on duty, and only then did they brusquely turn us away when they realised they hadn’t managed the reservations. The place needs better staffing and reservation management. Friends had driven for hours to join us for lunch, and had to leave hungry.

Usually a nice atmosphere within this pub but unfortunately a very poor experience today. After we finished the Oxford half marathon and came here to celebrate, but very poor attitude from the bar staff. Particularly the guy with the long beard, spoke to a lot of people rudely and was very uncalled for.

Fui por el cumpleaños de un amigo un domingo a la hora del almuerzo. La comida es fantástica. El espacio es muy bonito. Mesas grandes para social con algunos lugares más pequeños y acogedores también. Mucho mejor que cualquiera de los pubs del centro de la ciudad. Aunque me encantaría una mejor stout; toda esta cerveza artesanal y solo consiguió Guinness. Extra Negro de la caravana lo haría perfecto!

I visited for brunch on a Saturday. The food was excellent, and there were a good range of drinks available. Really nice environment and prompt service. I recommend.

Soy un gran fan de la comida aquí. Tomé la hamburguesa vegana y estaba deliciosa. También he probado una de sus pizzas veganas antes, y eso fue genial también. Es un poco inusual que las hamburguesas no vengan con papas fritas, tienes que pedirlas de lado. Sadly, no longer the best burger in Oxford. It used to be my favourite place by far for burgers, the quality of meat was simply tremendous. Alas, they have now replaced patties, and are no longer willing to fry them pink. It is nowhere near as good as it used to be, so I recommend other joints for burger connoisseurs. A pity! Still, a nice pub.

After waiting for 20 min. we were told to order at the bar. We did so but the bartender kept attending to people without any order and at a very relaxed pace. After another 20 min. waiting at the bar we were told that the kitchen closed two minutes ago (it was 9:02 pm) and that we could no longer order.

Overall a nice, relaxed pub. Shame the portion of (£4!) chips (tasty) were so small

Really love the decor: Gothic on the outside, but warm and cozy inside. Lovely staff. A great menu offering a much wider selection of food. The price is also more reasonable than many others! 3 May 2024 update: please bring the Peking Cluck burger back!!!

Straight forward pub experience with friendly and attentive staff, and also with good quality ingredients and flavour (burgers) if a bit on the pricey side. Chips portion size could definitely be bigger.

DO NOT EAT THE GF PIZZAS IF YOU ARE COELIAC. I asked about the gf pizzas saying I was coeliac and the manager encouraged me to order one, since they were coeliac and said they were fine for them. I spent two days in bed after eating here. Not safe for coeliacs. Worst part is that other than these "gluten-free" pizzas, there are no other vegetarian gf options in the menu. It would be nice to have a vegetarian gf burger option, since they make gf buns but not gf vegetarian patties.

I've been here countless times over the years and have always had good things to say about it. Sadly, my most recent visit was very disappointing so I shan't return. The lager we had was appalling; everyone who tasted it agreed that it simply didn't taste right. I advised the bar staff who assured me that this is how craft lager is supposed to taste... I politely disagreed. They refused to replace them because it would affect their wastage. Eventually they saw sense but it took some painful negotiation - this is no way to treat your customers. A real shame because this had always been a gem of a pub.

Great atmosphere, food and a friendly service. The burgers are great and it's clear they care about quality. The fillings were super tasty and so were the patties. All sorts of options availabe, vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free. However, the portion sizes of burgers and chips are too small. I very much enjoyed the art work and the lettering.

I used to come here a lot before the pandemic, but since then prices m went significantly up and the quality of food went hugely down. Very disappointing.

Meet up with Friends and Oxford is equi-distance between us. My son was at one of the colleges nearby a few years ago and he made us aware of it (and no not FULL of students. Informal and easy going. Friendly staff. Easy to get to if coming in from Pear Tree Park and Ride (get off at St Anne's). Then a pleasant walk through Jerrico into City centre'. Nice food, clean, and friendly staff. Will be going back.

Food was nice, the pizza dough had great texture and the chips tasted great. Unfortunately the portion size of the fries is awful and couldn't beleive I was charged £5.50 for 10 fries, extremely unhappy about this and suprised they even let this come out of the kitchen.

Such a fun and friendly bar in the heart of Jericho. A great atmosphere and excellent service with a range of home brewed beers and homemade spirits (called wonks). And the food is superb and fun too.

Interesting bar with lots of choices of drinks. Good pub menu but I didn't sample so can't comment.

Went for some food with friends, our first server was friendly but i was over charged for a 125ml glass of wine, I was charged for a medium but didn’t realise until I got home! The girl that served us at the bar was not overly friendly either when we ordered food, which was unpleasant considering we’d been told there were know burger buns or fries left…leaving us basically just with pizza. The pizza was not overly impressive at all. Overall an underwhelming experience.

Very cool dog friendly pub that serves great food and drink. We were served quickly some very nice food and the kids played some games that were supplied at the bar. Overall a very good experience.

Used to visit when it first opened and offered good food and beverages. Visited in July 2023 and might as well have been in a Wimpy. The premises were pleasant enough but the service was lacklustre and there was very little choice of beer. Cannot really be described as a pub any more but it seemed to attract quite a few punters for an early lunch so perhaps they vote with their feet.

Passing through Oxford by narrowboat we came across The Rickety Press. Great beers, friendly staff and great burgers or pizzas. My partner enjoyed the Seoul Bird burger so much she had it on the outbound and return trips. Her first mouthful had her dancing in her seat. My pizza with hot honey had a good kick.

We enjoyed the Wednesday burger special. It was a fantastic meal! Staff was friendly and answered our questions about the menu. The atmosphere is funky and interesting. It felt cozy, yet was large enough to handle a lot of people, including many large groups of friends/families that came in after us.

Awesome food, range of beers and atmosphere. Had the Big d burger very tasty. Highly recommended

A pleasant atmosphere with good service, quite pricy but standard for the Dodo pub group and serving the usual Arkells brewery beer. Slightly off the beaten track.

Dodo Burger gave me very bad food poisoning, its safe to say they didn't go extinct due to being over consumption :) The burger did taste a little watery and undercooked. we have a table of 8 so its possible we showed up and suddenly put the kitchen under some strain

The food menu is not simple, containing burgers and pizza along with some side dishes. Expect more like a pub than restaurant when coming here. We reserved a table as we’re 7 people, so they take reservations. They also have an outdoor seating area. It’s a cute and quirky place, I like it.

This is my local, I highly recommend this pub in Jericho . The staff are so so nice and attentive the pizza is always reliably tasty a great selection of weekly offers and evenings are always busy with a great vibe. Nice one rickety 👌

This place has the best burger that I have had outside of North America. The French fries are also ‘real’ French fries. They also have a great beer selection! I highly recommend checking this place out!

A cosy pub near Jericho in Oxford. The burger is great. Interior is fun. Booking is allowed for groups larger than 6 people. Can be busy, so get there early.

We have visited the Rickety Press a few times for coffee or food. It has a very nice vibe and it offers a very relaxing atmosphere! We particularly like the corner table overlooking the street junction. Food is good, well cooked and portions are generous, however we found it quite salty. Other than that, it certainly is a place worth visiting!

Lovely pub with excellent pizzas. Even the margherita on its own is so exceptional you don’t even need to get the other ones with toppings. Shame they’ve ended the midday £5 pizza promotion.

Decent pub, part of the Dodo pubco, L shaped bar area, with seating for diners at the rear of the pub, heavily gentrified since its days as The Radcliffe Arms, Arkells beers are a plus point, but loses a star for being card payments only.

If you're looking for modern pub food (burgers, pizza, chicken) then this is your place. Unquestionably fantastic food, great selection of beers, and a great atmosphere. A top pub!

Visited the Rickerty on a sat early evening great atmosphere and drink although went to order 1 margarita pizza @ £9 2 dirty bird burgers @ £10 each and 1 parmigiana fries @£5 didn’t have any chicken left so swapped for a beef burger was charged £24.50 then when the food arrived no second burger was added so had to pay £15.50 for another £10 advertised burger. Pizza was awesome but definitely need to sort out staff maths!!!

First visit to The Rickety Press. Great day time vibe, Saturday, busy but not packed. Good service, food was great and fast to get to us. Shame not more mainstream beers on tap (Peroni etc) Had truffle pizza (beautiful), chicken bites, coleslaw and buffalo fries (cold, dissapointed, hence the 4 star).

Went to rickety press for a celebrations and enjoyed their QR code ordering system for food and drinks at the bar! The pub was quite this evening but the staff were so kind and the atmosphere was lovely! The vegie burger was really nice and their cider was lovely as well :) Lovely atmosphere with great variety of seating choices as well!! Will definitely be back!

The Dodo Mojito is the worst cocktail I’ve ever been served. Cheap and past their best ingredients, not mixed properly. When member of staff was advised that they were truly dreadful, they grinned and said ‘sorry about that’ but didn’t offer any solution. We came here because of the good reviews but certainly didn’t have what everyone else must be having. Pizza doughy and soggy and chips lacklustre too. Would have paid more for better quality - but our money won't be going in this till.

We stopped here for a bite to eat, one weekday evening. It's a really interesting venue, with quirky decorations throughout the restaurant. It was quite busy and clearly popular, full of local people. We sat opposite the bar, which has high seats and tables. There is a larger room at the rear of the pub with plenty of tables. Dogs are permitted inside the restaurant. We had a meat and vegetarian burger, buffalo fries and a couple of drinks. The cost was around £30. The staff were friendly and welcoming, providing a good service. I would certainly recommend this place to others and look forward to returning.

The pub is in Jericho and is a bit back. However, they have unexpectedly great pizza and fries. The parmesan truffle fries are especially good. Abby served us our food and was delightful -- friendly, helpful and really added to the good pub feeling. The only bad thing was that the pub is cashless -- we actually almost left because of that. Glad we didn't because the food was great.

AMAZING BURGER! patty was made from quality meat, such great flavour and juicy (exactly what a good burger should be like, definitely get the one with bacon)! The chips were a little on the salty side, but easily forgivable as the chips were crispy and well done! Definitely recommend!

We'd been dreaming of returning to the RP since lockdown, especially the Dirty Bird burger. We weren't disappointed (we even called ahead to make sure it was still on the menu !). The fries were great as well, but boy, that burger is something else.Well worth a visit.
