The Slug And Lettuce - Oxford in Oxford

We were booked in for 1pm to dine, on arrival we were greeted by 'JC' who was very pleasant and friendly. There was no one else in the pub (hence the lower score for atmosphere) She showed us to our table and took our drinks order. We ordered our food, which arrived quite quickly. It was hot and tasty and nicely presented. Service was great and JC was attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Nice lunch stop. We both ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger.

We did a bottomless brunch and it was such a good option! We all work hospitality so a 7pm bottomless brunch on a Monday night was perfect for us! Cameron took great care of us, he even took amazing pics of us, nothing was too much! The experience was great, as were the drink, the burgers were a bit naff but but the Caesar salad was banging! Thank you so much for looking after us, we will be back for sure!

Visited on a visit to a Halloween event at Oxford castle which is next door. Service was excellent and the food enjoyable.

Really lovely staff! For a bottomless brunch the drinks were constantly provided and food was 10/10 Cameron and Marion (apologies if the name was not picked up correctly!!) were exceptional with ensuring the experience was exceptional and we never wanted for more. Would definitely recommend to anyone that wants to take part in a bottomless brunch as this team goes above and beyond - niamh & jareth

We popped in for a quick drink and to rest our feet from shopping all day. Josie and Maria were really friendly and welcoming. The place looks fantastic and we had a great time.

Loud, overpriced food and rubbish service. After booking for bottomless brunch, we got there for our reserved time and were sat for 40 minutes before I asked someone to come over, to which they responded that they’d “try to send someone over” to take our drinks order. Service was slow, glasses were dirty and the server advised it was just “water marks” even though there were bits in the glasses. Prosecco was warm, cocktails we ordered were so delayed, the ice had melted and turned the drinks sludgy and watery. When complaining, the waiting staff then blamed the bar staff for being slow which was really unprofessional, I could literally se our drinks sitting on the side of the bar melting. The food wasn’t anything to rave about, we had been there almost 2 hours and no one had taken our food order so we requested it. Luckily our 2 hour time frame for bottomless brunch (which turned into dinner by this point) was reset as we had been waiting so long. Very inattentive and unprofessional staff, slow service and an unenjoyable experience. Also the toilets were disgusting, there were so many flies in every stall, the toilet seats were falling off, there was no toilet roll in the holders, just dropped in the disgusting dirty floor by the toilets and only 1 of the soap dispensers was working to wash your hands with. Absolutely disgusting.

Our host Diya was lovely she made sure we were looked after considering we had a delay at the start which we weren’t happy with. She constantly made sure we were ok and our needs were met. Lovely host and staff even though the bar was super busy.

Mia was absolutely amazing. Me and my best friend was rather annoyed because we had a 2 hour bottomless session. We got a glass of Prosecco on arrival and ordered a cocktail. After 45 minutes we were waiting for another drink, I get they are busy but when you pay for a 2 hour bottomless brunch, you expect a better service. Thankfully, Mia, from Oxford slug and lettuce, understood our frustration and got us a couple of drinks at once which made the brunch feel more worth it. The other servers were walking past us, and ignoring us. It’s not what you expect at a bottomless brunch where you can order when you want for 2 hours. If it wasn’t for Mia, I would have been very annoyed but she really made it worth it and her service was excellent. She was more like a friend than a server.

Had the most amazing brunch experience, Hema was our hostess, and she made our experience really special by always making us laugh and smile! Had the best time!

Great bottomless brunch, fab service from Bluebell

Understaffed, overwhelmed, 1:45hrs wait for food, which was cold when it arrived.Starters were a joke and no table service. Booked a table for post 1/2 Oxford half marathon meal, granted it was busy and I am sure due to a lot of people in town for the event, but this was no surprise, the date was fixed over a year in advance. This was an opportunity to put the required amount of trained staff and make a lot of money from the occasion, but it would seem the restaurant and its management were clueless and rather than making hay they did the opposite. S&L has always been a consideration for a low cost informal meal - not anymore, removed from all future considerations, there is plenty more options out there.

Owen gave us some free drinks with a firework as it was my birthday! The experience was lovely and i would certainly recommend. Thank you x

Went for a girly bottomless brunch. We were very well looked after by Theresa! Food was delicious, drinks were flowing, amazing atmosphere. We've been to a few BBs in Oxford and this was our favourite by far.

Absolutely dire booked a table for 5.30pm and got our first drink an hour later will definitely not be back

Not enough staff on the day of Oxford Half Marathon. Food took ages to arrive and was only average. Ladies toilets were dirty, no locks on many of the doors, sticky floor.

All the staff in angry tone especially the lady manager with small hair. She is walking here and there in anger. The worst manager I ever interacted in Oxford during my one year journey in Oxford.

We had an amazing dining experience at the Slug and Lettuce. Oh and what can I say about our amazing waitress, Bluebell! She truly made the difference. She was attentive, friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Bluebell kept our drinks topped up without us having to ask and her warm personality made us feel so welcome. The restaurant was very busy but Bluebell handled everything so smoothly and never missed a beat. She deserves an immediate promotion
