Quite disappointing by this cafe. At first glance it looks great. Toys, books, little tables for kids. Unfortunately our experience wasn’t great. The service was extremely slow. One person behind the counter both taking and preparing the orders, despite other staff members being around. I ordered a babyccino for my daughter and the milk was absolutely scalding when it came out and she was unable to drink it. In the end we had to drink it as it just took too long to cool down. Crazy they would serve something like that in a kid’s oriented cafe.

No vegan cakes or pastries available, despite the menu which says "much of our menu is vegan". Apparently they normally have one vegan cake option (banana bread); not really good enough nowadays.

Came as a family and was utterly appalled by the service. We were sat for 15 minutes before anyone came to serve us despite there only being 3 other tables being used. We placed our order of teas, salad, sandwiches and a children’s box. After 25 minutes they brought 1 sandwich, a salad, pastry and pot of tea. There was no milk or spoon and nobody came back out and when I was trying to attract attention I was ignored . Thinking we still had another 3 peoples food to come I would wait but after 15 minutes and other tables getting their food they finally asked if we needed anything else . We explained we only had half our order and although they rectified this we had been totally forgotten about and by then half of us had finished our food. The child’s meal was ok but the cheese sandwich it contained was 2 pieces of dry bread with a slice of cheese !!!! Really?? Considering COVID the floor was filthy as was the cushions we had to sit on ..... will not be going again !

Went there for brunch with friends. Saturday morning but lots of space. Delicious avocado on toast only £2.90. We sat and chatted over coffee in cosy back room. Relaxed and friendly.

This is such a well thought out menu. It has lots of food that will, appeal to children, and all of it is attractive, nourishing and healthy. And the smallest childrens' food is given priority so that it comes first and fast - and what a difference that makes to the whole family's experience. Whatever we ordered we all wanted to taste each other's food as well,s our own and it was all really good. And, taking four grandchildren, I was delighted to pay probably about half of what it would have coat at a chain, Don't miss it.

Down a side street-Pembroke Street- just off St Aldates in Oxford-you will find the brilliant Story Museum. This is delightful small and quirky museum for children and their parents. Equally delightful is the museum cafe- everything on the menu is home cooked and delicious with many items to appeal to children as well as shoppers or tourists who seek a light lunch away from the more corporate chain restaurants.

After the tour of the museum we enjoyed some food here. The kids enjoyed the pasta and we enjoyed the soup of the day which was leek and potato and it was great.

Looking for a place for lunch we walked down a side street and found this treasure. Very helpful pleasant staff in the cafe.I had the tuna melt panni and husband had the jacket potato with tuna both served with side salad.excellent also had tea for two and told us to ask for more milk or hot water. Felt no need to hurry and some were just enjoying relaxing over a drink.

Sehr liebevoll eingerichtet mit einem interessantem Museum für Jung und Alt. Der Schob hat nette Angebote zum nach Hause zu bringen. Kaffee und Kuchen hat es dort auch noch in netter Umgebung.

I regularly go to the Story Museum for lunch. There are loads of options. The all day breakfast is excellent and the daily soup is always delicious! There is space to sit outside in the sun in their peaceful courtyard. Staff are incredibly friendly and it's a fantastic place to meet friends for a long lunch. I'm a coeliac and there are plenty of options which is unusual in Oxford. Great for just a cup of tea and cake as well!

We were visiting the Story Museum (a great trip) and it was a rainy day so decided we'd eat lunch at the cafe rather than going elsewhere. We are glad we did because the food was delicious. We all ended up trying each other's dishes because it all looked and smelled so nice. The all-day breakfast was a particular highlight. There are books to read while you wait for the food and also lots of unusual and quirky book-related bits of decor to spot. Friendly staff and reasonable prices, we'll be back on our next trip to Oxford.

Works as both a coffee shop and a cafe providing good quality light meals. I've eaten here on several occasions and never been disappointed. The basics are a cut above comparable local cafes and there is usually something slightly different - on my most recent visit, for example, I had jacket potato with hummus (although they also fo beans, cheese and all the other standard toppings). Although the menu is quite small, there's enough variety to suit different tastes. Service is excellent, there's a lovely ambience and, whilst it's obviously geared to be child friendly, it's a good choice for adults wanting a quiet, relaxed lunch or coffee and cake.. Highly recommended if you're looking for something slightly different.

The Story Museum is a great concept, and the cafe is located smack in the middle of the inspiring environment. Pretty basic food, but good quality produce, friendly service, and decent prices (at least for eating and drinking). The fact that my daughter wants us to return is a good indication of its attraction for its target group.

We decided to have coffee before going into the museum. Wife enjoys her coffee and thought this to be a good one. I certainly enjoyed mine and we shared a piece of flapjack, which was good. Not too sweet. Coffee shop available to anyone without the need to enter the museum.

We were visiting Pembroke college for a concert and before hand we popped into this cafe for a concert which is directly opposite. This cafe is part of the Story Museum which has lots of children's books and a few little toys. We asked for Macchiatos and the person serving had to ask how to make a macchiato but he came up with a perfectly decent coffee. We then noticed some of the books and bought a children's books for our granddaughter. Then we bought a few small toys so our coffee stop ended up costing us about twenty pounds! But still a nice experience.

Visited today (4th Nov 11:30) with my 8 year old son to buy some Pokemon cards, and whilst my son was looking I popped to the toilet - I was then chased down by a lady asking if I had a table booked. I explained I did not, but we were here to buy Pokémon - she told me I can’t use the toilet, it’s for table customers only. I questioned this twice explaining we are a paying customer, to which she got pretty rude and said no - I was absolutely stunned, we have spent a small fortune in this place over the years - and this is how we are treated? Bear in mind, I’m a middle aged man dressed well, with my son, so clearly not homeless or junkies - so seriously, what the hell? Even the other person working there looked embarrassed, shocking customer service.

Had the Hand -Battered Fish Goujons in Magnans in a Ciabatta bread with lettuce and Tartare sauce Absolutely delicious. You could have a choice of Fries or salad. . And I must say. Delighted that they now sell Irish ☘️. Tayto crisps. Nice touch. But I will also say that ONeils is the best pub in Oxford. And Eamon and the Staff always go the extra mile for all there customers. Very important these days. Thank you

A real gem of a cafe. Excellent coffee and cakes and charming staff. I was welcomed in with a baby in buggy, found a suitable table and offered a glass of water with my coffee. I look forward to using the lovely outside terrace when it's better weather.

Tropezamos con este café de carretera y fue bueno. Nada especial, pero está bien el día. El vehículo es la principal atracción y parecía muy limpio y brillante.
