Friendly staff, great atmosphere, excellent wine and good food. Top recommended.

There is new different wines to try, however we didn't find it relaxing place.

We came across this place by chance and very glad we did. We shared a cheese platter and had a couple of small glasses of wine each. Our server was very knowledgeable and was happy to give us recommendations and samples before we ordered. A lovely place to visit.

I was very surprised by this place because they serve very good coffee by English standards. Not only is it a place for drinks but it is very pleasant to spend the afternoon. It is advisable to reserve a table if it is a large group since weekends tend to have a lot of people.

Nice calm place for a coffee or drink and catch-up. Never too loud.

The place is nice enough, but I've never seen a wine bar that doesn't pour the tipple in front of the client... If one is paying so much for a glass it's good to know what one is getting

THEY DONT TAKE CASH!!! Never mind that CASH IS KING. Never mind that the money I held out was LEGAL TENDER. My hackles rose when my notes were refused and a lovely evening was ruined 😡

The wine was nice and the service was good. But the cheese board we got was really mediocre for the money, hence the 3 star rating.

An unrivalled selection of wine in Oxford, comfortable ambience, and very helpful staff. I think of the menu as more a selection of starters than an actual meal, but they're quite good. A tad pricey, but proportionate to the wine, and offering subtle flavours that complement the wines.

Delicious lunch cheese sharing board and wine flight paired beautifully with the cheeses… great atmosphere and lovely attentive and knowledgeable staff. Will come back!

What can I say - it has alcohol - seriously, this is an excellent location for a nice variety of wines from all over the world - they have beer and other falling down waters too. Helen and I love this place - the staff are excellent, helpful, friendly and a damn good laugh - the ladies who work the bar tolerate my odd humour so they deserve a Knighthood. Seriously - this is an excellent place for a date for established couples, new couples, business meetings or just friends chilling.

A stunning wine bar with excellent food, these bacchinalian beauties are serving the best wine in town. Superb atmosphere, friendly locals, John behind the bar really knows his stuff and is a credit to the establishment. Can't wait for my next visit.

Oxford wine cafe caught my eye on trip advisor and on first look came across like a lovely place with good food. Whilst the cafe and wine selection were adequate. The cheese platter we had ordered for 3 of us (we ordered a board for 4) was rubbish for a cafe that serves wine. Cheese was served in slices rather than blocks, barely enough for 2 people. Poor quality tomatoes with half a tomato per person allowance and 6 tiny slithers of celery to share. Also we had never had a cheese board that came with peanuts and peppers which we can confirm do not go. Cost of living crisis gone mad. Cafe inspired by world war 2 food rationing.

Nice cafe, and they were really happy for us to just have coffee.

We love dropping by to sample the wine and nibbles. Always busy but worth trying to get a table.

You can't come to Oxford and not stop for a drink! A good selection of cocktails and hot drinks as well. Of course, if you like wine, THIS is the place to go in Jericho. The staff are amazing, well informed and the perfect amount of friendly you want in an outing. I live locally and spend time here during the day and evening. It really is such a great place and can't recommend it enough! Definitely ask for a recommendation as all the staff are very well versed in wine :) ... The small plates they have are incredible as well, making it the perfect place to stay on if you end up wanting some nibbles. Highly HIGHLY recommend. See you there...

Nice lively venue with good pub atmosphere. Funnily enough it even improves as the evening progresses. Well worth a visit. UPDATE Absurdly this bar doesn't accept cash therefore I cannot recommend it at all now. Millions of people rely on cash for everyday payments and you have chosen to discriminate against them. I understand there are cost advantages involving insurance and also staff not misappropriating it but your prices do not reflect the savings. I'm sure you have your reasons and it would be good to hear them but from my point of view I know they will not be valid. If you value your privacy and freedom as a consumer then avoid this establishment.

The wine is nice but I wouldn't recommend the food. The cheeseboard is considerably overpriced and is very small for two. Also, the quality of the bread that came with the cheeseboard is not as the description suggests on the menu.

Wow, so excited to find this place. My friend and I had no plans, and were just going to pop in somewhere for dinner but decided to have a glass of wine on route...and we didn't leave! Fantastic wine selection, great food and ambience and was thrilled to see it was dog friendly!

Such a nice place -relaxed, easy going, nice food, beautiful wine and drinks... What's not to like? And it's still the same a couple years on. Good recommendations for wines too!

Lovely atmosphere. Comfy seats. Nice nibbles and sharing plates.

A bit noisy, but the drinks were good. £3 for a small cup of tea/coffee/chocolate seems a little pricey, but I guess it's Oxford, so people pay it. The good thing was that it was still open at 8pm when most of the other coffee shops in the area were shut.

This is one of my favourite places in Oxford! The staff are really nice and friendly, they recommended me nice vegan wines and best coffee as well! Definitely I place to have a drink or eat one of their delicious pizzas.

Forget the city centre! If you like wine and charcuterie...head straight here. You won't be disappointed. Top quality wines, much cheaper than in the centre.

We have visited The Wine Cafe countless times over the past few months, we always got excellent service, very nice coffee and very tasty food! The restaurant offers a very good selection of wines. Staff is very attentive and all in all the atmosphere is great! Highly recommended!

This is an excellent bar and café in a vibrant part of Oxford. The selection of wines is diverse and high quality; the coffee is delicious, and so is the food. The staff are friendly and genial. The only downside (and it is a serious downside) is the music, which, both in kind and in volume, would not go amiss in a nightclub, but is maddening in a café or bar, especially at lunchtime. Playing nothing at all would be an improvement, but perhaps something more relaxed would be a step in the right direction. Until there’s an improvement in this regard, the experience of being here is seriously impaired. If the music were better, this place would deserve an excellent rating.

Thankfully they had a nice IPA on tap, I am sure the wine is nice as well, atmosphere was warm and welcoming

Nice place to have a glass of wine woth friends. I was just a bit disappointed when I went there at 22.45 on a Monday and they sent me away because they were closing at 23, despite saying they closed at midnight on google. This place closes at 23 during the week!

Pretty bar nice features and well decorated. Lots of wine choices of course but for the non alcoholic drinkers attending the menu is very slim. The Belvoir Elderflower was nice ..the other options were fizzy drinks coke/lemonade or apple juice ...

Nice little wine cafe with good food and drink, though at times less than ideal. For a wine cafe I expected a better selection of rosé, rather than the standard two. One of our group asked for and was charged for the mushrooms on toast and was served buttered mushrooms with a few crackers, and we accepted to prevent further prolonging the wait time. The salmon on toast by comparison was much better, and arrived on pieces of actual bread. The place is a little pricey in some respects but I feel as though it provides decent value for money. It is a little loud inside, and though that is no fault of the restaurant, it did make conversation somewhat difficult at times. I would recommend this place, but make sure of the evening you’re expecting to have, as at times it felt more like a bar atmosphere than a cafe’s.

It is impossible for me to love this place more. Just the loveliest staff. I went with an old friend and we had the best time. The ambience was just divine and the staff were so lovely and knowledgeable about their wines. We ordered two nice bottles and stayed for hours. The wines were very nice and tasted great. Nicest hangout spot for squiffy catching up !!!

This place is awesome! From the fantastic selection of excellent wine, the very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable staff, to the great little snacks and food selection, this is a great place to spend an evening.

If your on Walton street do yourself a favour and pop into this unique spot. The staff here are amazing and will go above and beyond to accommodate your needs the drinks are to die for, you really couldn’t ask for anything else!

The service i 1st class and always with a smile. They have a large quantity of wine to choose from and bottled beers. The food is simple and delicious. the atmosphere is relaxed so a great place to chill over a good bottle of wine.
