The food, especially the club sandwich is brilliant as is the service! I have a Gluten & Dairy allergy, I eat at the bistro semi regularly and they have always handled my food with great care.

I went for lunch with a friend and the setting was lovely but the service was terrible, the tables had not been cleaned and when I asked for it to be cleaned I was first handed a cloth then it was taken away and I was told it would be cleaned and nothing happened. The food was ok but the service was so bad I don’t think I would go back. They clearly did not want to be there at all. Maybe it was a one off but customer experience has definitely suffered a terrible fate there.

At a Parkinson UK meeting, arriving on time at 10.30 for 11am, we were met with a flask of stewed lukewarm coffee which could easily have been made at 6am. After lunch there was expectation of fresh coffee and hot water but that was a false hope. The coffee pot was now empty and the hot water lukewarm A request for gluten free alternative at lunch time was made in advance for one person. A platter of gluten free sandwiches was provided with enough for 3 persons. That meant that it was necessary for all to eat gluten free bread or go hungry when the normal sandwiches ran out. So the catering was unnecessarily dreadful for an otherwise acceptable conference facility and may prompt the organisers to think again in future

All enjoyed getting together and had a great time. Staff polite and very helpful but there the good bit ends. The food was ameuterish in its presentation and for the price very little, not all the choices chosen were present. We had to cut our own cake and take it around the guests. I didn't want to cause a scene so accepted the situation, however, I will be writing to the management team, just not enough care and attention to the little detsils, which in the end make all the difference.

I decided to spend my 20th birthday here with my mother and sister. We have been to many spas before but we decided to give this one a try as it was close to where we live. We booked our spa treatments which were rushed and the girl had long nails. After our treatments we wanted to access the pool which we have been informed teenagers are not allowed. After having our spa day spoiled we decided to give their restaurant a try only to find out it has been closed down despite being advertised as open from 12 pm on a Sunday. We didn't want this bad experience to ruin our day we went to another nearby spa instead. This place it is overpriced and apart from the gym there isn't much going on. Try Soho FarmHouse instead, they are very professionals and allow teenagers too.

Can’t thank the team enough for a wonderful pregnancy spa day. From the moment I arrived and spoke to the lovely lady on reception, all staff I came across were so friendly & welcoming. The pool area is beautiful, water nice temperature and clean changing rooms. Both my treatments with Kelly were wonderful - I had a relaxing pregnancy massage and a pedicure. Kelly is so so sweet & was constantly making sure I was comfortable and relaxed. The whole day was every penny. The only thing I struggled with was getting on and off the pool beds as they are so close to the floor but I am 3 weeks from giving birth so most things are difficult and they’ll be fine to use if you’re not heavily pregnant!!

Very Disappointing ! - as a member, my wife was sent an "Members Exclusive offer" to enjoy a meal for 2 (1 meal free) active from Mon 12th until Sunday 18th February. Imagine our utter disappointment when trying to enter (1st) The newly revamped Bistro - finding it LOCKED (Sat 17th April at 19:15) - unperturbed, we then tried the newly decorated upstairs Sports Bar (19:22) - this was empty, so after waiting 5 mins at the bar we attracted attention of the staff attending to a function in a nearby room. We were advised the bar is always closed at the weekend ! We showed our invitation of the offer - "they've made a mistake then !" We couldn't believe that a membership club would reject its own members & falsely advertise an offer that fails to exist ! The new management takeover doesn't seem to work - in that it doesn't proof-read its own offer before issue !

The restaurant has changed hands since our last visit. They are carrying out refurbishments during February and it is best to check their website for limited opening hours during February. This was an existing booking which they honoured, and they looked after us well. We ate from a fixed price menu - £17 for two courses and £22 for three courses at lunchtime (more expensive in the evening).

Booked a table for 7pm Wednesday only to be told they now only open a couple of night a week. Rebooked for 7pm Friday, Arrived and was seated at a clean well laid table in an empty restaurant. Waited about 20 minutes to have order taken, followed by over 45 min's for soup to arrive, soup was too spicy and inedible so they replaced it with a tomato soup which too was way too spicy. Waited another hour for mains to arrive. Duck and ribeye steak. Both cold, bland and of meagre portion,; I had 9 chips ! My wife asked for a glass of Martini and was offered a choice of Red, White or Dry. She ordered a white martini with an olive. The waiter came back, dumped a glass unceremoniously on the table and growled " That's Cinzano" and walked off !! Dessert arrived just after 9:45 pm and was actually very nice. Nice clean restaurant, poor staff, poor food and unjustifiably high prices.

I will firstly say this was the second year on the trot we came here for our company’s Christmas dinner, Dec 2016 really nice piping hot food, plenty of it and great service.. 12 months later OMG absolutely disgusting.. I had like a few of us the Prawn cocktail.. well it reminded me of a car being sick .. about 3 small shrimps and congealed lettuce not enough to fit on a soup spoon, main course I had the beef out it came and the roast potatoes and out after a few mins, they soon went back as the were cold to touch as did the masked parsnips.. cold to touch intact the whole of our tables veggies went back not just once but twice ! When the waitress cane round after the desert she asked how the meal was, a person on our table told her and she said ‘ if you think this is bad you should have been here last week it was worse than this ‘ After a poor meal we left the venue and went home only to be violently sick all night! And if you think I will ever go back there your absolutely mad !

Went last night for a Christmas party night but no one told the management. Worst festive meal I have ever been served. We were a table of 9 and no one enjoyed the food and everyone thought we had been totally ripped off. Prawn cocktail consisting of a limp piece of lettuce with 8 tiny prawns and a sliver of lemon. Dry turkey raw vegetables parsnip mash with more lumps that mash and no gravy. Coffee on the table for ten minutes before milk and sugar arrived then had to ask 4 times for a tea. Not a teaspoon to be seen in the room so gave up used uncleared dessert cutlery. No Christmas decorations and black cloths and napkins lowered the atmosphere even more.(and a few black balloons that looked like they were leftover from a previous Event) The one star is for the singer who was good but even the music only had two Christmas songs through the whole evening. Finally of the two toilets one was out of order. For £34 per person we left feeling outraged and swearing never to set foot here again.

Three of us ate here on a Saturday evening. Had expected a bit more of an atmosphere but there were only a few tables occupied. Took a little while for them to ask what we wanted to drink. The best thing about the meal was the amazing bread which was a bit like a cake sponge with salted crust. I had the lamb course but found it really salty. Creamed leeks were nice though. Belly pork went down well and a steak. Service was friendly but a bit slow, especially as it wasn't busy. Tbh I wasn't expecting it to be THIS good as I got a deal on Travelzoo for this restaurant - but WOW did it deliver!!Firstly the place is really well decorated and very serene... you feel totally relaxed and the staff never rush you and are very accommodating. We ordered a great bottle of Shiraz (South African) that was really smooth and blew us away at only £18. Two of us ordered the soup special (Thai sweet potato and carrot) and one ordered the Corn Beef Hash - all amazing and well presented and the accompanying fresh bread was delicious too. Then two of us had the steak and one of us had the Gnocchi (as she was vegetarian and I will say that was her only option as a veggie, which truly was my only disappointment about the place). The steaks were cooked perfectly and we were even given a little taster of the lamb to try with our starters that was amazing too.Come dessert we all had the pear tatin with ginger ice-cream and coffee - delicious.I really thought the standard of food was great and all locally sourced. Kudos to the chef (he's a keeper!!) - thoroughly enjoyed and hope to come back now to try a Sunday Roast!!

We visited here with my parents for Sunday lunch. We were seated at a table with a nice view of the lake and given the set menu, 4 choices for each course and I would have eaten everything on the menu, it was a good selection. The corned beef hash starter was mostly mashed potato but it had a perfectly poached egg on top and was nice enough. The roast beef main course was a little rare for all of our liking, and very fatty. I could have forgiven both of those for lovely flavour, but sadly it was lacking in any. Lots of roast potatoes (3 on the plate plus another dish served on the table), but only one small dish of roasted vegetables between the 4 of us. We'd have happily foregone extra spuds for veg!For dessert we had some fruit crumble which was absolutely delicious, not too sweet and served with perfect custard and lemon tart (apparently lovely).Value for money was great.

What a disappointment! I was really looking forward to lunch with friends between Christmas and New Year in the restaurant at Witney Lakes. I've eaten in the Bistro before and the staff were delightful. So my expectation of the restaurant was that the hospitality would be even better and the whole experience more polished. The reality was that I actually felt that the staff were doing me a favour taking care of me and my friends.I had booked a table for 1pm, having been told that 12.30pm was not possible. We arrived at 12.45 and there was only a table of 3 golfers in the restaurant. I didn't ask why I had not been able to eat at 12.30pm. The Manager pointed at our table saying that it was by the window (whatever happened to meet and greet and a hospitable welcome?) The table was sparsely laid and the decor worn. The menu was limited but the food was good value for money. Where it really lacked was customer service. The ladies that served the table were incapable of answering basic menu related questions. I have no issue with that if the response had been 'I'm not sure but let me see what we can do'. Instead we had a few uncomfortable silences and rolling of eyes followed by negative responses. I should not have been surprised then when food was served with a call of 'soup?' 'Prawns?' I felt like putting my hand up and saying 'please sir'. Could they not have remembered or noted orders for a table of 5? The approach did change when the manager realised we weren't happy, but I would have appreciated a natural warmth from the start rather than patronisingly forced hospitality.Overall, not welcoming, lacking in style and basic customer service training. I have just moved to the area and am thinking of joining Witney Lakes. It would be so nice to have somewhere to bring friends on their visits. The restaurant is open to the public but don't seem to appreciate that customers have choices and there is plenty of competition in the area. Maybe they can afford not to care? That's what it felt like.

I came here with my wife and young daughter for an evening meal, using a voucher from travelzoo. The voucher entitled us to two, three course meals, for £39. The menu looked good but execution was lacking. My starter of blue cheese souffle was nice, however, my wife had chicken liver parfait which had no seasoning at all and wasn't good. For main course I had belly pork with celeriac fondant and madeira jus. It came as just a chunk of belly pork on some chard. No sauce, no celeriac. My wife ordered lamb two ways with rosemary and garlic jus. This again came with no sauce. The roast lamb was actually nice and tender, but the second way of a little pan with a hotpot in was unpleasant. Really fatty and tasted weird. The mains were supposed to be served with honey roast root vegetables. It actually came with some green beans, mange tout and carrot. Which is fine except it's not what was on menu and they actually make a big deal of "root to table" using locally produced veg. Pretty sure the veg wasn't local! The chips were good though! Desserts were nice. I was just left feeling underwhelmed by the whole experience. If I had paid full price for the meals I would of complained. The staff are pleasant and it's a nice restaurant but I wouldn't return, even with a voucher. There's too much choice in the area to be left disappointed by a meal

Dishes are well presented to a very good standard and the flavours are well balanced. The wine menu has a suitable range and reasonably priced.Staff are friendly and attentive without being too obtrusive. This is a restaurant which offers a very good dining experience and is well worth a visit.

Decided to try the restaurant as there was a deal for Resort Members and went with a couple of friends. The Restaurant Manager was very attentive from start to finish and the food was delicious. The location by a lake is very relaxing. Will definitely return soon.

The food is generally of good quality, a bit lacking in atmosphere as its not very busy when we have been there several lunchtimes - we have not been in the evening.

We took 29 adults and two children for a family celebration dinner. The staff were extremely welcoming and worked really hard to make all members of our party feel special. The service was great and the food absolutely excellent. Amongst our party we tried all of the starts, mains and desserts and all were superb. They also set up a special meal for the children so that they were not left out. We really loved this place and will be back!

Great place to celebrate a birthday. My 70th birthday took place in June and it was a wonderful day thanks to the staff at this location. Nothing was too much trouble and the organisation of the day was excellent. My wife and I have recently returned there to enjoy a lunch on our 48th wedding anniversary and that was also a special time for us and once again the Restaurant lived up to expectations.

It was our 59th. wedding anniversary which 6 of us were about to celebrate.Imagine our horror when we found a party of 16 had been placed in the same area, the area being approx. 6metres x 6metres.The noise created was awful; it was impossible to hear one speakTo make matters worse we did not get our 1st. course until the 16 party had not only fini9shed their main course but were now enjoying the dessert !!Needless to say the staff were quite indifferent to our situation. Finally we did get some response after complaining and were then served our dessertin the WAITING LOUNGE..Even then we seemed to be ignored, that at 10.00 p.m. we were having ask whether we could be served coffee.

We attended a family wedding, at the golf club, due to bad weather we were unable to have the wedding on the lake, but the resort staff and wedding planner went out of their way to make the day memorable, even to providing a.baby sitter. So that a upset 2 year old was taken care of during the service and when he rejoined the party was full of smiles. The attention to detail was wonderful, and the service was held in the St. Andrews room and then upstairs for the reception, the way the room and the tables were decorated was breathtaking and there were plenty of staff on hand who were very smart, polite and could not have done anything more for us. Thank you so much, and if anyone is looking for somewhere special for a celebration you would not be disappointed.

Three out of our group of four wanted steak medium rare. The meal had to be returned three times as the steak was overcooked. Each time it was bought back to the table it was the same meal just cooked a bit more. We knew this as the chips were darker and the tomato was more wrinkled. We had a lengthy conversation with the head waiter who apparently was a trained chef, who seemed unable to understand what a medium rare steak looked like! To this end, my daughter provided photos on her mobile phone which were then taken into the kitchen for the chef to consult. Even after this the steaks were bought out more cooked than the previous time! Eventually more mains were ordered. I ended up eating my main on my own. We asked the head waiter for complimentary desserts for our inconvenience and when he agreed we ordered desserts. However, shortly thereafter he reneged on his promise offering us only a '10% discount' on future visits. Why on earth did he think we would go again!

We have just had a meal using an Amazon Local voucher. The meal was very enjoyable, and the views were fantastic. My husband enjoyed the black pudding as a starter, and I loved the scotch egg. We both had the steak to follow and this was very tender with a lovely sauce. My husband's only grouse, although he loved the cheese board, he felt it was a little expensive. Nevertheless we would definitely go again.

We went to Witney Lakes restaurant on an Amazon Local voucher last night and loved it. The menu was high quality and not too long, and the food was super. Pedro, the host, was outstanding - a real professional who made you feel so welcome. The home-made black pudding was just great, and the signature scotch egg was both inventive and delicious. Very good value!

The restaurant has an upstairs area that can be used by larger groups away from the main restaurant. We had a group of about 50 people for a special dinner, and were well looked after by the staff. The meal is of course a set meal for that number, and there is not the scope to provide as much variety as you would get downstairs, but the meal and service were perfectly acceptable for the occasion.

This is a very special place with a lovely setting and very well cooked food. We were welcomed on arrival by two really nice lads, Conner and Jake. They are a credit to the restaurant, being very friendly and very knowledgeable about the actual food on the menu.(this is quite rare in todays culinary world). Some of the food is very different (eg I had the starter of the wild mushroom scotch egg, the main being rump of lamb followed by Guiness, chili and cheese on toast) and all highly delicious. The actual venue overlooks a lake with plenty of outside seating. The menu is varied and the four of us each had something different. The chef is excellent for all of the food was outstanding. The portions were generous without being so much they are difficult to finish. Most of all, everything was superbly cooked. We all had three courses with drinks and everything was just right. We were offered their Loyalty Card for future use (10% off) which we gratefully accepted for we will definitely return. I would imagine you are looking at about £30 per head for three courses which in todays world is exceedingly good value, especially when have such lovely surroundings and great food and service. Ample parking. All in all, a tasty delight!

Food was lovely tasting however I didn't feel that I had a complete meal. I ordered soup, which doesn't come with bread. Then ordered a cheese lattice which came with two sprigs of asparagus. I would have expected a salad with it, or vegetables and some new potatoes. £17 for this little amount of food is overpriced. Also there was only one vegetarian option on the menu to choose from which is pretty rubbish in this day and age. I wouldn't go back.

This restaurant overlooking a tranquil lake and golf course continues to deliver the best value meals in the area. They call Thursday's their 'Foody Night' and last week they excelled themselves again with an unbelievably succulent braised shin of English rose veal on a bed of broad bean risotto, wild rocket and gremolata. All for £18! The absolute tops was the way they mixed the marrow and the meats in to the bone like a bowl within the plate. Sheer heaven! Also couldn't resist the starter of crumbly and light home made black pudding with shredded apple. For six pounds who couldn't!!

We ate in the restaurant last night and despite it being 'foody night' the place was very quiet. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely, classy and understated with fabulous views of the golf course and lake. The staff were attentive and the food was delicious even though the menu was small we all found something that we wanted to eat. Each course was beautifully presented and fab. The price was reasonable for 3 people eating 3 courses plus coffee. It is cheaper than other places locally and an excellent place to eat if you want a great setting and a quiet place to chat as you eat.

We called ahead to the pub as we needed a camper stopover close Brize Norton. The landlord Dave was incredibly helpful and we were able to make use of the ample flat car park at the back of the pub for the night we needed. The facilities in the pub are first class and service was excellent - Dave went above and beyond to make our stay an absolute pleasure. Staff and locals were all friendly and welcoming to us. We were lucky it was ‘vinyls night’ so were treated to some great music while we were having drinks in the bar. Highly recommended, I’m sure we will be back soon

We loved it. Perfection location and the quintessential English pub. Outstanding food and service and the ambiance, decor is so wonderful. The highlight of our Cotswolds trip. Near to Jeremy Clarksons new pub as well so this little area is the perfect spot for a weekend spent in the pub. Well done Swan.

First timer and the experience was five stars all the way. I had the meaty breakfast which was brilliant and fresh and loads to eat. My daughter had the avocado on toast with a beautiful poached egg. Again it was excellent. We loved the decor and vibe of the cafe too. Service was superb and it really is dog friendly too. You must visit.
