We were asked to book an earlier table due to being busy. We got there and there was only one other table eating. We waited 25 minutes for our food order to be taken, and another 50 minutes for it to actually come out. We were told there were only two pizza bases left, so only two of our table could order pizza (which makes up the majority of their menu!), only for another table behind us to come in later... And order pizzas! They forgot the cheese on one of the burgers. We were told they were unable to add cheese and bacon to another burger (the pulled pork burger) because it was "something from the specials menu". They completely forgot a third burger! It wasn't the fault of the guy serving us, he was great, very amenable, but the service was massively let down by whatever shower of detritus that was going on in the kitchen. The food was expensive and not worth the money. We won't be returning.

Really disappointed. Used to be a regular here. Thought we'd try after not going for a few months, and to check out the new decor. It sadly looks like a rush job, with the rickety old stairs and manky carpets left. The loos haven't had an upgrade either. The food - menu is really scaled back and portion sizes are so small compared to what they used to be with prices increased. The staff seem to have to yell at each other and inform the entire restaurant of their day off plans, and some, I'm sorry to say, just do not look professional. Really disappointed and won't be going back.

Hubby and myself have eaten here regularly, however tonight my burger was burnt and it was replaced with another burnt offering. Hubby had a great pizza. I had a coffee and hubby a coke. Despite me returning both my uneaten meals all that was deducted from the bill was the price of the drinks. I paid for a meal that I didnt eat. Wont be bothering with this place again

Had the most amazing gluten free pizza in here this evening. The base appears to be made fresh in the kitchen, was crispy round the edges and not soggy in the middle. Good size too. I’m wheat intolerant so it’s not often I find somewhere I can get a decent pizza. There is a good list of optional extras toppings. I shall make this a regular treat now.

We cycled into Redruth at 10.45am on a sunday and everywhere was closed. The Regal was due to open at 11 but they opened early just so we could get a coffee (which was lovely).

Was really hungry by the time I hiked into Redruth that hot August afternoon. Walking down the main street, I saw few obvious places to eat, so the Regal came as a welcome sight at the foot of the hill and I dived in. From outside, where a few locals sat drinking at pavement tables in the sun, it appears to be a restaurant combined with a cinema, which is unusual. Inside, COVID measures were in place. I obeyed the sign saying wait to be seated, but the guys behind the counter waved me to sit where I liked. Joint wasn't too busy. I found a two-seat table looking out at the street and was soon served a pint of Amstel by a friendly and careful but hesitant young man--perhaps still learning the ropes? (I had two drinks overall, but he left one off the bill, which I had to remind him of, bless him.) The serving protocol of staff here is to bring food and drinks on a tray which you then remove yourself. I treated myself to an excellent feast. Main course was New York Chicken, with tasty bacon; decent, medium-chunk, square-cut chips; a rich, pink-coloured slaw; and fresh red-lettuce salad. Very satisfying. Followed by cookie dough and ice cream. Lovely ice cream. Never had cookie dough before--bit sweet for me, but worth the experiment. Chicken dish was priced at about £11.00 and the dessert £5.00; but I had a great bargain thanks to the Eat Out to Help Out discount! I'd call the Regal more of a cafe bar than a restaurant. My sort of place: easygoing, unpretentious, relaxing, and serving good food in decent-sized portions.

What a f××king dive, came here for a date but was instantly put off. Flies everywhere, dirty tables and don't try to use the bathroom before ordering as you'll get treated like a criminal 😂 it's a shame as this used to be a regular place for myself and my partner, but the miserable staff ruined our experience & we certainly won't be returning.

I didn't realise that in one of the cinemas you can order some snacks that are delivered to your seat.. Recently watched Lion King whilst snacking on pizza & mozzarella bites sitting on leather chairs and sofas - it felt like being at home with a huge screen... Kids had a blast.

Arrived for 6.15pm table booking before show at 8pm which should have been plenty of time to eat before the show. Slight confusion with our food which meant one of us didn't get side dishes until 30 minutes after the meal arrived which was 45 minutes after ordering. The rest of the party waited another 30 minutes for their main meal. No staff available to order additional drinks or dessert as they were busy and all over the place so forgot the diners upstairs?.. We eventually got the attention of a guy who had brought food to another table so we could order a dessert but after ten minutes he re appeared to tell us that we couldn't have any as there wasn't time before the show'. So, we are all in favour of the "Use it or lose it'" for local cinema.shows, dining but the venue lost out on money from us as we only manged to get one drink and missed out on desserts/coffees due to poor service. I will add that staff were very friendly, helpful and polite but there didn't seem to be any organisation. Individuals were here there and everywhere doing different jobs instead of sticking to one designated task which would have saved diners hassle. It seems that the bar downstairs took priority. So sadly we will eat elsewhere from now on.

This is the first time we have been here although we are fairly local. We had tickets for a show. Which we only had booked the previous night. The young lady that dealt with me over the phone on booking most helpful and lovely. Then asked were we dining thought it was a good idea so she booked us a table. Very efficient. Service excellent. We both had starter and main meal. Very enjoyable very hot. So well done. It's not the Ritz by long way. If you just want a bite to eat before cinema or show this is just ideal for that.

Excellent option before during or after a film. Amazing service and delicious food. We opted for a starter with sides which was more than adequate. Chips were the best and salad was drezsed with our favourite honey and mustard. Friendly helpful staff for whom nothing was too much trouble.

The centre of Redruth on a wet Sunday morning is not the most prepossessing of places. Derelict shops; closed shops with window displays from other shops disguising the fact the shops are closed; a burnt out building with a temporary artwork outside to disguise its dereliction; an historic house open for coffee on Friday mornings only; quirky statues. Then there’s the Regal Cinema doubling up as a theatre venue offering such delights as a resurrected Jim Davidson or one of the Bay City Rollers with other absent or defunct band members. At least it serves decent coffees with complimentary biscuits as an escape from this depressing twilight world.

Must say staff in The Regal Resturant were very polite and helpful and service couldn't of been better. The food was not so good tho. Fairly priced but the lasagne we both had was that dry think they had it there reheating for a week. Didn't complain as not waitresses fault and didn't have time as it would if made us late for our film.

I took my dad here as a birthday meal. The young girl on restaurant wasn't acknowledgeable, I had to go to her rather than her approach us. She muttered something and started walking away and I had to assume that she was leading us to our table. We sat down and she walked away again without saying anything. Very timid girl. It was 15 minutes before our drinks order was taken. The wait on food was rather long as well. We could see why they suggest coming in over an hour and a half before the film. A blonde lady served us from then on and she was very friendly and chirpy. Food was great, I had a chicken burger and my dad had chili nachos. Portion sizes were brill. Thanks Regal, will be returing :)

Very friendly & helpful team of staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Went with a party of four & all enjoyed our meals. We took advantage of the meal deals & got an extra 10% off with Movie Magic card. Great result! Two of us had the Rustica pizza & agreed that it was as good as any we have had. It really made for a great night out at the cinema. Will definitely be back. Thank you!

Well done to the whole cinema for a great relaxed night out

I visited the Regal last evening with a friend, we arrived slightly earlier than expected for the film we had booked to see so decided to have a drink first. We both ordered from hot drinks menu, my friend a latte and myself a hot chocolate. These were brought over and were presented well especially the hot chocolate! Sadly drinking the hot chocolate proved impossible, once the cream and marshmallows were gone it taster bitter. I am a chocoholic and this was far too chocolatey to drink. We didn't order food on this occasion but the menu had a good selection of meals. Will probably stay for a meal the next time we are at the cinema.

On this occasion I had booked tickets to see "Dirty Dusting!" at The Regal. The day before the show was supposed to be on, I saw on social media that it had been cancelled, due to a problem with the theatre company, not The Regal. Apparently they had only found out the day before and were contacting people as best they could.

Went here as arrived early at Redruth to see a show, very friendly staff but unable to get a table as everyone was reserved. So definitely advisable to book in advance if you want to eat. Managed after about 10mins to get 2 seats on a sofa area which was up a couple of steps away from the main area. The coffee and cake for £3·50 was a good deal. Would definitely return but would book if eating before a show or cinema.

Stopped here out of curiosity. This diner is part of the Regal cinema in Redruth. Has its own entrance on Fore Street in Redruth town centre. Also has doorway into the cinema foyer. I stopped for coffee but was impressed with the reasonable pricing and popularity of the venue. For Wednesday mid afternoon - it was busy.

Festive Afternoon Tea this afternoon was very disappointing. It is clearly a stop gap to keep income trickling in between Sunday lunch and evening dinner service. The biggest issue is with the service, very inattentive, unconcerned staff not in the slightest bit interested in providing a professional level of attention. The afternoon tea was acceptable but not exactly delightful let alone memorable or to be recommend to others. Delightful setting with the hotel beautifully appointed and well decorated for Christmas, just a pity the staff were not switched on at all. Management at fault and it would appear no investment made in staff training.

Really good full Cornish. Generous portions. The bacon was griddled so tasty and not greasy, Harvey's sausages are ways peppery perfect. Would've like a hot plate and homemade beans rather than tinned. Will defo go back. The decaf coffee was dreadful though!
