We took our extended family to the Red Lion to celebrate my mum’s 90th birthday and couldn’t have chosen anywhere better. The staff were simply amazing - so accommodating and helpful. We had a toddler and a baby with us and so our party can’t have been the easiest table to serve. However the staff were outstanding; prompt and friendly and we even had some impromptu magic to end the meal! The food was delicious and plentiful. We had a variety of dishes from the menu and all were excellent. Thank you so much to the manager and the team for making our visit so enjoyable and memorable. My mum absolutely loved it.

We had an amazing Sunday lunch at the Red Lion, for my husband’s 50th birthday. The roasts were delicious, and the puddings were incredible (shout out to the Banoffee Pie!). The gentlemen who looked after us were charming and professional. Griff also entertained my children with magic and riddles, which has confirmed this as their favourite place to go! All in all, a brilliant 10/10.

Prior to our visit I had cotacted the pub and asked if they would prepare my wife's favourite meal ( lobster thermador ) for our special day. A quick check with chef, not a problem. On the day we were presented with a great meal, beautifully cooked and presented. Made more special by the attention and service from our host and hostess. Thank you Red Lion.

Fantastic staff - was made to feel so welcome by Beth and Maria, the fish and chip was lovely, great portion size! And the banoffee dessert was to die for. Will be going back, can’t believe I haven’t been before!!

I’ve been to a few pubs now since reopening but my experience at the Red lion just tops them all. The food is incredible but paired with the impeccable service it just cements this as a must visit, and regular go to! I really can’t recommend it enough. Sean and his team give such a genuine and friendly welcome/ welcome back.I wanted a lighter meal so I had the starter of crab, avocado, dill and mild chilli stack. I also had some home made sourdough bread with homemade butter and it was beautiful. The outside space is looking wonderful too and they’ve clearly invested a lot of energy into making it comfortable. Some wonderful independent cask and craft on the drinks range also.

Slow and miserable service. Sadly this is the only pub in town so I expect they are cleaning up, but please AVOID if you can.

We stopped at the pub with friends. The pub was busy but we were welcomed by the very friendly ladies working there.

This was my third visit. The experienced staff here are very friendly, and happy to discuss the menu or just chat generally. Prices are appropriate and not too steep.

I visited the pub on the off chance Weds lunch. The lady told us they were full and maybe a wait for food. Although we did have to wait a while the service was fantastic. The young lady that was waitressing was so accommodating and polite, even though she was busy still found the time to give us amazing service. The food was nice however it was just a bit of a wait. I will return.

The meal was great. The menu was small but quite different and it tasted good. However, the service was incredibly slow and confusing. You could see that the waiters and waitresses did not have allocated tables, and therefore just floated around and easily forgot about you. Some were even standing around with nothing to do on the other side of the pub despite the fact that we wanted some attention! The place is sweet and the interior reminded me of an old cottage rather than a pub or restaurant. I did assume it would be better standard wise considering the reviews on its "excellence" that i dont think we experienced.

Another excellent meal at The Red LIon, we are locals I know, but the food and service here is always perfect, Debbie runs a great team and establishment, didn't see you last night Debbie, you had a rare night off, but we ate at your table ! (Feeling very privileged) The Red Lion serves the best Fillet steak in the Surrey Hills. My partner is a Pescatarian, and there is always a fresh fish option on the menu.We don't go as often as we would like due to our shift work, but trust us, you must try this restaurant.Chris & MikeShamley Green.

Yesterday August 15th 2015 my mother was 100 years old and together with 32 family members and friends we celebrated this special occasion at the Red Lion in Shamley Green Surrey. The warm and friendly welcome from Debbie was much appreciated and the wine and champagne were served perfectly on time. The buffet lunch was superb and the waitresses were all so polite and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. Some of the guests had travelled hundreds of miles from Gloucester, Bath, and Wales the others more locally from Cranleigh, Horsham, Wokingham, and Farnborough, and they all were extremely impressed with the venue and service. My mother had the most wonderful birthday and did not want to leave. Thank you one and all at The Red Lion for such a great time.Philip Towler.

Typical pub menu...plenty of frozen deep fried items on the menu....had a chicken and leek pie....tasteless sauce.the cook used all the leaves of the leek.....ie the part that you at home would throw in the bin, because they are not tender...in fact indigestible, chips completely tasteless, not doubt frozen too.Tasteless pie chips an sauces..... Good service....

Another Great evening meal, always fantastic service (thank you Cloe & Debbie) and the food is tip top (thank you Chief)Highly RecommendedGreat Atmosphere all year round, in Winter lovely real fires burning and a warm cosy Interior, in Summer love to eat outside in the well looked after rear garden or out front on the pub picnic tables. My partner and I always get a warm welcome, and are looked after, almost like family.

First thing here is this is far more a restaurant than a pub, not a place to go for a drink at the bar.Food pretty good, prices restaurant price`s rather than pub.Nice outlook onto the green. There are so many good pub pub`s in this area that do as good food for less money.

Dear Head office I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent visit. Normally, I look forward to my two days off work and especially enjoy breakfast during my stay. However, my experience this time was extremely disappointing. And today told there's no eggs. Why don't they get some from Tesco's. Firstly, breakfast was delayed for about 20 minutes, which I understand may have been due to a shortage of staff in the past. However, what I found unacceptable was being told that both coffee machines were offline and under repair. I visited on another occasion they are still ropy. As a regular guest who typically enjoys a Mocha, I found it frustrating to be offered only soft drinks as an alternative. This is simply not acceptable for the service I expect. What made matters worse was the lack of concern from the Duty Manager, who did not seem to take the situation seriously or offer any meaningful solution. I am truly disappointed with this experience and may reconsider staying here in the future unless these issues are addressed. I hope this matter is taken seriously, and I look forward to hearing from you. Updated 19th Feruary.

A perfect get away from London. Food and staff were outstanding. I definitely recommend it if you are looking to spend couple of days away for home
