Lovely staff so I wish I could have written a better review. However the food was disappointing. Yorkshire puddings were flat and portions of vegetables rather small, although potatoes were enough. The desserts looked and tasted brought in rather than home made. Lots of room for improvement.

I love this place! I go here all the time since my son was 3 months old I would 100% recommend this place all the staff are really friendly even the managers if you want somewhere to go where you will feel appreciated and not judged this is the place to go quick service and also the food is delicious please give this place a try and you will most definitely be back

Only the 2nd time we have been to this lovely pub , we returned for a friends birthday party. Sam and her staff are the most friendly accommodating people , we couldn’t believe Sam remembered us from our last visit nearly a year ago . It’s clearly a pub where the locals feel at home but we were also made to feel this way by the hosts and the friendly locals . We only snacked but the food we saw being served look amazing. Nothing was too much trouble Sam made several jugs of Pimms up for us when I mentioned I would have liked one We will definitely be returning to have a meal and for some more of Sam and the teams superb hospitality .

We absolutely love this pub and the amazing customer service. Always have lovely meals. I am ceoalic and dairy Intolerant and the staff bend over backwards to make sure I have whatever I want to eat and make it so easy!! Thank you!!

Fabulous roast options and delicious food. Incredibly friendly efficient staff. Accommodating service - we had a wheelchair user and, due to a late plane arrival at LHR, we had to reschedule our booking. But nothing phased Sam or her team. I cannot praise them highly enough. THANK YOU 😊

Charming country pub, stayed overnight, ate very well, slept well - if slightly on an angle in the single bed - one Aussie Woods to a Pommie Woods, (Coincidence) Great Sam. Enjoyed watching the kytes from upstairs room too. Popular with locals - makes it a great choice. Sue

Stayed here for 5 nights for a business trip. Couldn’t have picked a better place, the rooms are comfortable and clean (they are not the Hilton if that’s what your looking for) but the service, the personal touch and everything that comes with is 5*. If your going to have some food have it in the Bar, Sam (owner/chef) can good some good food! Fantastic stay will 100% be back when down this way.

Stopped off on the way back to a local campsite - proper friendly peeps, quality beer and pizza and fell in love with barmaid 😂 Bon 💪

Easy communication. Arrived following a washout, from walking the Ridgeway. Landlady (Sam) was incredibly accommodating and offered washing /drying facilities that were not at all expected. Room was simple but clean, tidy and excellent value. Adequate breakfast provide in room. Good menu options in restaurant, we'll prepared and very pleasantly served. Many thanks

Visited the pub on the 22nd December 2022. . The bar staff are very nice !!!! I have eaten here before and it was actually fresh home made food. This time the staff did admit it was frozen potatoes etc. The menu stated that it was home made Yorkshire pudfding which in the past when eaten here it was , but this time it was frozen and came out burnt and tasted bitter . I sent it back but still came out burnt. The cabbage was soggy. The roast beef came out in chunks and was not sliced , carrots css as me out chunky and not cooked properly. the presentation was awful . Everything just chucked on the plate. Very very disappointed overall.

We had a fantastic meal; everything was delicious & clean plates all round. Only wish we had room for desert…next time. Great, friendly service & really good choice on the menu. It was our first visit & we all agreed we would eat here again. Thank you.

Lovely freehouse with a really nice owner and friendly team. Stayed overnight to attend Michael Buble at Waddesdon Manor. Comfy room. Had lunch on Sunday which was good. Overall a good stay and would def stay again.

Fantastic meal with my other half and our two friends, the staff were amazing, especially considering the volume of “cheese” based jokes being told to them :) Food was delicious, at short notice the team pulled together an impromptu birthday desert plate for our friend Jo who was celebrating a big birthday :) Thank you very much for a wonderful evening

Lovely clean fresh twin bed room decorated in coordinated soft greys. Windows on 2 aspects. One window had lit eaves lights visible at night.. Maybe a blackout option would help block. Simple to use shower (thankfully) giving plenteous hot water. Full sized fridge in room was a wonderful bonus - supply of 1L fresh milk, 2 bottles Orange juice and 2 bottles of water. Room breakfast of selection of cereals, Juice and tea/coffee was provided. Stairs to room from bar side, on arrival, VERY steep and difficult to manage even without a suitcase. But after booking in we could use the back entrance that served the resident clients more easily.

Had a lovely meal for my parents 60th Diamond Wedding Anniversary. This was a very pleasant location for the event.

We had a delicious meal here. Started with baked camembert followed by Thai curry and chicken tikka masala...all home made. Absolutely delicious. Great service and Sam so welcoming and helpful. Definately recommend and will come again

Nice dinner in the restaurant with family members who were staying over last night in Room 8. They said the room was excellent. Food was really good and friendly and very attentive service by Samantha and Chloe .

Lovely village pub with a friendly atmosphere. Food was very nice and service was prompt. Only downfall to the pub is there isn't a garden but they make up for it with the warm welcome inside.

The welcome at the Red Lion was excellent, the staff were really friendly. Had the BLT and it was delicious. As stated elsewhere, this is an unpretentious country pub, well worth a visit.

I visited here after a long day at work and having just moved in to the village, but I won’t be returning.

Un gran pub y buena comida a un precio razonable. El aparcamiento está en la parte trasera del pub. Sin embargo, no es muy amplio el pub era todo lo que queríamos. Hay zona de estar al aire en la parte delantera bastante cerca de la carretera pero no hay jardín el saludo y el servicio era amable y servicial. El menú era sencillo y perfecto para una comida al mediodía.

Cambiar teclado pretencioso guerreros! Nos alojamos 3 noches por negocios aquí. Comimos allí cada noche. Las habitaciones son anticuadas? Sí. Son cómodas, limpias y buena relación calidad-precio? Sí. No proporcionan la leche fresca, el zumo de naranja y asequible de calidad? Sí. Jerry es muy amable y la comida y la bebida es muy buena. Perfecto si necesitas un lugar para descansar. Este es un agradable y acogedor pub que visitar de vez en cuando y siempre disfrutar. Tengo que decir que me parece la petty crítica de otros críticos sobre la decoración "moda" y "1970"e irritante. Por amor de Dios, es una casa pública sin pretensiones en una ubicación semi rural. Es cálido, cómodo y limpio, y el interior es única vítores, resuelve cambiar de inhóspita trendiness. De todos modos, estabamos más, la última vez que fuimos aquí para una cena que fue, como siempre, no me decepcionó. Mi hijo tenía trucha arco iris, que informaba a ser perfectamente preparado, tierna y suculentos, y yo tenía Scampi wholetail con patatas fritas que estaba delicioso y satisfactorio, y las porciones generosas. Yo disfruté de un vaso grande de un calentamiento, apacible Merlot, buena calidad y servida a la temperatura perfecta. Disfrutamos mucho salir a cenar aquí, cosa que hicimos por casualidad y había un montón de asientos, y tenemos la intención de visitar otra vez, por supuesto. Fue una buena relación calidad-precio, nunca es demasiado caro. Un buen establecimiento Jolly, creemos, y el esfuerzo es claramente para asegurarse de que está bien gestionado, con cambios en el menú, y ahora puedes pedir buenas pizzas como llevar, también.

Nunca había estado aquí antes, pero aquellos que fuimos con recomendado para el almuerzo. Fue una buena elección, con un extenso menú principalmente de platos tradicionales. De hecho los cinco de nosotros hicimos elecciones diferentes. La comida es cocinada desde cero y todos en nuestro grupo estaba satisfecho con lo que había sido elegido.

Brought the family to visits friend locally all the staff couldn't be more friendly no thills or spills just a good old fashion local pub who made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived child friendly would recommend to my friends excellent value.

Mi suegro, que tiene demencia, insiste en ser llevado a este lugar para el almuerzo. probablemente le recuerda más feliz veces cuando solía tomar su esposa tarde allí para una "apropiado" el almuerzo de pub. Afortunadamente para él, no es consciente de lo terrible este lugar es ahora. Él, mi esposa y yo tuvimos que esperar por un rato en un pub casi vacío escuchando los distintos Pings de las olas de la cocina antes de ser presentado con una comida Britart de sorprendente tragedia. he oído de patatas cocinadas dobles pero nunca había tenido la experiencia de pescado cocinado doble como acompañamiento. era comestible, pero cuando la Sra. En general a limpiar los platos no había pregunta de ella como de por qué los peces no habían tocado! Presumiblemente, ella es utilizada para liquidación platos completos de comida. El almuerzo no es barato tampoco - tres llegó a 42 libras!
