The Red Lion at Badlesmere in Swale

Visited for lunch with my daughter. I have coeliac disease so need gluten free. It was wonderful to be able to choose anything on the entire menu. Our food was delicious. I had the steak pie followed by cheesecake. We will definitely be back

Another fantastic Sunday lunch. Shared the fishcake starter and then a fantastic beef for myself and the chicken supreme for Lisa. Lisa had the cheesecake for dessert and I had the sticky toffee pudding. Everything cooked to perfection with great service from all the team. My Lisa is coeliac and its just great to go somewhere that she doesn't have to worry about mistakes being made.

Great gluten free menu (which suits my partner) but this in no way detracts from the food which I always enjoy too. We have had meals here ranging from 1st class Sunday Roasts, through weekday lunches and specialised meals for Chinese New Year.

Dedicated gluten free, Coeliac UK approved. Excellent range of vegetarian and vegan options too. Just bliss to be able to choose anything and know you won't get glutened. Some old reviews mention the landlord. I think there must have been a change in management, all the staff were friendly and accommodating. We went for Sunday lunch. Definitely recommend booking in advance.

This pub is perfect for a relaxed night out. The food is excellent (although currently awaiting more pies) and it has a cozy atmosphere. The staff are friendly and there are board games to use , which we did! Reasonably priced as well.

First time eating here , I come here after being suggested by a friend and decided to take my mum for a meal , I opted for the burger and it was absolutely amazing , my mum had the chicken burger and again it was absolutely spot on , the chips were lovey and golden and piping hot , we was greeted at the bar by a member of staff called shaz and she was very welcoming and felt very comfortable upon walking in ! I also have some arkward dietary requirements and I explained these to Shaz and she let the chef know and again the staff done an amazing job , will definitely return for more food …. Also tipsy the dog was gorgeous couldn’t help giving her a stroke !

Had a great meal here for our team Christmas Lunch. Excellent service and great atmosphere. Makes a change to find a pub/restaurant dedicated to gluten free food. Will definitely be returning.

Nous nous sommes arrêtés là lors d’une froide journée enneigée pour nous réchauffer après une visite de Faversham. L’accueil y est très chaleureux et nous avons beaucoup aimé le cadre et nous avons bien mangé. Les enfants étaient ravis et nous aussi. Nous y reviendrons sans hésiter si nous repassons par ce joli petit coin.

What can I say! We came here as a pre wedding evening treat. Staff were lovely, very accommodating and chatty. Food was beyond fantastic My vegan pie was fantastic. My mum and her friend said it’s some of the best food they’ve had and the best meal they’ve had out in AGES Owner noticed I was wearing a bride tiara and was so kind and chatty wishing me the best for my big day Highly recommend If we didn’t live so far away I can only imagine this would be our chosen “local”

Just an adorable and quaint place, that served food from the heart, which tasted divine at a price that was truly spot on. We couldn't fault this place, just a shame its almost 100 miles away from where we live, if it were our local we would definitely be very regular visitors.

I stumbled on this pub when looking for places that at least do some gluten free food . Fed up with settling for ham,egg and chips followed by a gluten free brownie I was hopeful when I read their exclusively gluten free menu The menu is extensive and varied . I was literally spoilt for choice ! The cod and chorizo was delicious . I didn’t leave a morsel . Plum crumble and custard on a dark and rainy night . Does it get any better than this ? The service was professional and very friendly . We will definitely be back . I recommend this gem of a pub to anyone .

Fantastic place, all staff were so friendly and the food was amazing, having coeliac this was a dream for me to order anything I wanted and knowing it was safe. The Red Lion has undergone several changes of management in recent years but now has very good people in charge.We ate there with two friends in June when the sun was shining and the weather was hot, hot, hot. The lovely garden was full so we ate in the restaurant which was very clean.All four meals we ate were lovely and decent portions. The mussels were sumptuous, the chili con carne decently hot and the chicken dishes very chickeny! We had to wait a bit for the meals but only 'cos the pub was full of diners, must say something about the food quality.Highly recommended, will return.

I had a lovely meal at the red lion in badlesmere in Kent .We have known the owners for a long time as they used to run a previous pub in the village where my family live. All of the menu is gluten free and can be adapted to dairy free.They are so lovely and accommodating as I have coeliac disease and I have a dairy intolerance. They have so much choice. We shared the tempura sweet and sour vegetables and rice , for a starter.My mum had the Katsue curry.Me and my dad had the beef pie with chips , veg and Gravy. For pudding my mum had the bread and butter pudding, my dad had strawberry ice cream, and I had the chocolate brownie with ice cream and toffee sauce. They also have a good choice of Gins!

Fabulous food great hosts would highly recommend and very family friendly five stars well deserved will definitely be returning soon
