The Red Lion in Coventry

Attended for the first time here for a family Christmas dinner, some family members had travelled from outside the city and were very disappointed. Meals were cold some of the vegetables tasted of grease, ( even the manager agreed with this ) roast potatoes had never seen an oven, disappointed to hear that it was all brought in and they just heated it up !!! Turkey wasn’t nice at all presentation was poor. Table was crammed empty glasses weren’t removed which left even less room on the table. Dessert was not any better with the crumble arriving with barely any crumble. Staff were polite and welcoming but the food was appalling. Definitely do not book for a Christmas meal here. We won’t be again.

Lovely atmosphere and polite, friendly service from Ceaton and Zoey. The food was OK for the price. Good selection of Ales, and an opportunity for tasters too.

Went for an early Sunday lunch today after booking a table via the Ember Inn App. From arrival until we left, we were warmly greeted and looked after. The Sunday dinners are amazing, wholesome and filling. Can wholeheartedly recommend the rib of beef. My partner had the duo - turkey and gammon, which was equally as tasty. The manager is friendly and seen all around the pub helping out and chatting with customers. The staff are friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend a visit here.

Haven’t been here in years but stopped in due to awful weather as I fancied a Sunday lunch and it was the best Roast meal I’ve had in ages bigger than I expected for the price and amazing service from Zoe and Rosie Will defo come again soon

The staff here are always amazing. It feels like you’re in an independent pub even though it’s a chain. They are so great with the children too

The staff Lewis, Terri and Conlon were very attentive and efficient. Food was excellent and hot on arrival. There was a great atmosphere very relaxed.

Went for Steak night. Food was great and the service from Zoey & Becca was excellent. Will definitely be visiting again.

Upon arrival we were able to find a table very quickly. We were served by Terri at the bar who was warm and very welcoming. Food was served promptly and was hot and tasty. Would definitely return. Terri made the visit, she was so friendly 😊

Five star service and the food was great too ! Staff are always very pleasant and well mannered & if there’s any issues thay will sort out right away for you . I would recommend the red lion walsgrave Coventry for drinks and eating. We booked a Sunday lunch because our daughter was home from uni for the weekend. We weren't disappointed. The Sunday lunch was wonderful...hot, tasty, big portions and well presented. Lara, our waitress, was really friendly and attentive.

Arranged a surprise for my friends birthday just to meet up for a drink and some food , we ended up spending the whole day and night there the food was delicious and the staff were really helpful and friendly , will definitely be going back there we all had a great day

Lovely food, great service and as usual, a lovely few hours break. Tori, Ash and Sacha made us feel very welcome. Our go-to local for a meal or just a drink. Vegan cheesecake was exceptionally good.

As always Terri and rest of staff wonderful friendly and very efficient The meals were delicious I love the sea bass and it was cooked to perfection My husband had the Mixed Grill which he said was really good but no room for one of the puddings due to its generous size Wine and beer completed a good evening worth walking back home in very heavy rain We’ll visit again soon

We have been disappointed of late especially on our last visit as they waited until we had ordered and paid before telling us there was over an hour wait for food it actually was an hour and a half

We had a lovely time on Christmas day. Our food was great from starters to puddings. The atmosphere was friendly and we loved the open fire. The staff worked very hard and very professional. We will certainly be coming back again.

We were a large lunchtime party of 18. Pre order was sent. Some wanted 2 courses , some 3 courses. When we arrived no starters came out just mains. It could have been a disaster but manager Tracey was quick to come over and apologise....

We attended for Breakfast with Santa. We attended last year too and by far the best breakfast with Santa experience. Staff cannot do enough for you and it was an added extra touch with the craft activities too. Will be booking again for next year.
