Another trip to Cononley and a few visits to the Railway Inn. They’ve certainly upped their game over our last 2 or 3 visits and we had a few good nights in the beer garden. Really friendly staff, good service and prices which are very reasonable. The nachos with sour cream are to die for.

Came here as it’s local to our holiday cottage. Lots of seats inside and out. Good selection of beers. Quite a few tv screens for sports. Nice relatively inexpensive food menu and nice food with very friendly service. Used by a lot of locals so can’t be bad.

We’ve been here a few times and generally it’s been fine, this time we sat in the beer garden in the sun and had a great evening. Good beer and reasonably priced. The staff were great.

Been here a few times now on holiday and it’s not a bad pub at all, however we came in on a Friday night for food and were told they’d shut the kitchen. It was only about 7pm and they advertise food till 8. A bit disappointed as there’s nowhere else to eat in the village so we went back for scrambledegg on toast ! Apart from that not bad, very quiet though for a Friday night.

Visited on Sunday 26th Feb, the food was outstanding! I don't usually leave reviews but my wife has made me this time 😆. My wife had roast beef dinner (one of the best she's had), I went for the Chicken & Halloumi Gyros, it was massive and tasted fantastic! Staff super friendly and on point, Boltmaker kept superbly well. We will definitely be back next week!

Our 4th visit here and my last review said it had improved, pleased to say its not slipped. A good bar menu and some nice real ale. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea as it is on old style pub but has a few big screen TV’s but for a decent meal and a pint it’s abs fine.

We called in here when on holiday, not a bad little pub but they stopped doing food at 8pm which was a shame. Beer was ok and we had a pleasant evening. Just not a lot of atmosphere.

If there's one thing that gets my goat about small pubs is six people who know each other taking over four tables. And that's the experience we had in the Railway. The rest of the tables were taken but one gent had a pint on his table and was standing up, four were sat around another table but one had his pint on a third corner table and then a sixth was sat on a fourth table but was obviously part of the same group. Having said that the staff were excellent and it seems like a cracking pub. But the need for a pool table taking over a third of it puzzles me. Big area outside which would have been great to sit at if it weren't blowing a gale.

Newly refurbished with indoor and outdoor spaces equally impressive. Staff are lovely and friendly, beer is well kept and a good price, food is good pub grub, big screen sport for those that want it and atmosphere always good. Nothing pretentious just focusing on being a cracking village pub. Well done all

When George Orwell wrote the Moon Under Water about his fictional ideal pub, he clearly hadn’t been to the Railway Inn or he’d have just gone for a pint there and not bothered with the poem. I created a Tripadvisor account just to review this pub. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into every aspect of the pub and I can’t fault it on any level. 1. The beers are delicious. 2. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Nothing’s too much trouble. 3. Very reasonable prices. 4. The food is great - we were a group of 11 who showed up without booking. We were told they were slightly understaffed so there might be a wait, but we had our food within 20 minutes. 5. The outside seating area has a variety of covered and uncovered options. 6. The TVs have been strategically placed, there’s also darts and an excellently maintained pool table. 7. I was also urged by the ladies in our party to highlight how clean the place is. Apparently ladies’ loos can be a bit of a gauntlet, but those at the Railway Inn are spotless and well equipped. We are in Yorkshire on holiday for a week and have been every day since arriving. My girlfriend is getting slightly worried that I might buy a house in Cononley simply to have the Railway Inn as my local.

This pub has undergone a lot of renovation work. The owners could see the potential of the outside area and have turned it into a relaxing and pleasant area to eat and drink, particularly when the sun is shining. We enjoyed a family lunch - efficient, down-to-earth service and simple, satisfying food.

What an excellent surprise, have the new owners made this the best pub in Skipton?Well I'd say so if its food and a decent pint you are looking for. There are others with as good beers and others with as good food but here they do both.It is now on my regular list of Skipton Pubs.

Called here today for lunch whilst doing the scarecrow festival. Myself & my daughter have allergies & the chef came out to speak to me about what we could eat. He was so helpful checking everything for us & reassuring me. I had a tuna mayo panini with chips & a side salad & he brought my daughter out some chips with cucumber in a bowl even though I had said she would share mine. My partner had pork pie with mushy peas & gravy. We were both so pleased with our meals & they were so filling & tasty. The pub is very child friendly too with highchairs & toys. We will certainly return soon.

We wanted a meal but were told as the new landlords had recently taken over food isn't yet being served. We stayed for a drink and a bowl of little cheesy biscuits were put on our table. Then the landlord suddenly appeared with two little bowls of sausage stew and a warm buttered bread roll each, for which he didn't charge. The locals were friendly and very chatty and we ended up taking part in the Christmas quiz. Probably the most friendly and hospitable pub we've been in. A bit thank you to Howard, Karen and family for their hospitality. A great pub.

We have been to this pub before. The old landlord had dogs that roamed around as you were trying to relax. We bought some crisps and within seconds the dogs were all over the chairs and tables. Not nice..we walked in this time and what a pleasant surprise. Gone was the doggy smell..a fresh smell awaited. New landlord and the pub looks fantastic. .clean and welcoming..plus vintage TV. We really enjoyed it this time and will be back to try the food.

I attended this pub last week whilst on holiday. On arrival my 4 year old needed the toilet. On my way out to round up the rest of my family to order drinks, to then be approached by the owner who made it was not happy that i used his toilets before i ordered from his pub. I did appologise but was still made to feel very unwelcome. Fair to say i would not be spending my money in his premises.
