Delicious. And moderately priced. Great old pub, fast service (they weren't busy though) Friendly staff too. We'd return- perhaps tonight. For anyone over 6 feet, mind your head.

Visited this restaurant with a friend and were not disappointed. The food was amazing and the service could not have been better. We were served by a young gentleman called Dan. He was so attentive and had great banter. Suggesting between dishes when we could not decide. The lad needs a pay rise! We will definitely return.

Very loud party behind us. Couldn't hear ourselves speaking. Sat by the door, very cold evening and a draft every time customers come in and out. Food was okay. Plenty of it, just tasted slightly "normal" nothing special.

We had breakfast with friends today and cannot fault the service we received from Dan at Quills. He was really friendly, with a good sense of humour. He took our order promptly. The food arrived swiftly as we had said we couldn’t stay too long today. Dan checked everything was ok with our food. Great service even when the restaurant was pretty busy.

I’ve been to the restaurant twice now and served by Julia both times and she’s so lovely as well as the other staff there. I always make sure to leave a tip there because I throughly enjoy my time. Also the music in the restaurant is always good not sure who’s picking it out. Thanks again!

Service was great, but burgers below average - sloppy, patties overcooked, no flavours. Fries were ok. Dessert also was only ok to wash down with coffee ( lemon tart). Coffee was nice 🙂 not worth the money, wontbe coming back.

Beautiful friendly cosy lovely staff Lamb stew had white pickled onions in(very vinegary)very odd in my opinion. mash tasted of instant mash that you add water to,small portion sizes looked flattened to fill the bowl, the lamb stew itself seemed it could of been from a tin with added veg so that was disappointing . All other meals from burgers to pasta was good overall. Maybe I'd just chosen the wrong dish! Everything else Charming and service was brilliant 👏

Service was lovely last week on Tuesday at 12:30pm for lunch. Great quality food presented. The pulled pork burger was delicious. The onion rings were cooked to perfection. Chicken with rice, with monteray jack cheese was delicious. Cocktails presented nicely.

Fantastic place - we hadn't booked but the staff were very flexible and found us a seat very quickly. Service at the table was just as good. The food (Peri Peri chicken) arrived quickly and was delicious. Highly recommended (although I'd book in advance just in case! 😊)

£75 for an average breakfast for one adult and two children. Milkshakes £7.50 each the kids left most of the food as was of poor quality. Avoid overall 2-10

If you want to use your Gourmet card here make sure you say when you book because they do not accept it if you do not!! Apparently they only accept 4 Gourmet cards per night !

The waiting staff were lovely and very patient. I was with a table of 19 for work, which as an ex-waitress myself I deeply feel for those who had to put up with us! The waitress called Yulia was fantastic :)

Go in quills often for shakuka brunch and over takeout of there falafel wraps, delicious food, great service, prices and service wait time is also very good. Lovely booths inside, nice atmosphere too Will be using again soon :)

What can I say I celebrated my 50th birthday last night with 15 other family members from the very start the service was great, the food was absolutely fantastic, I had the Quill cheese burger which I can highly recommend, my mother had the mixed grill which she said was fabulous, which is quite a compliment as she prefers her own cooking! Nothing was too much trouble for them, I have eaten at the Maze & the OXO tower on numerous occasions, but this place our shown both! Thank you to the team for such an amazing evening

I love it here! Have become a regular! The food is nice, good variety of drinks on offer, breakfast, lunch or dinner is all great. And the staff are so friendly.

Attending for a Christmas meal, the food was average being a Christmas set menu, wine selection was really nice and a few cocktails didn’t go down so well. The staff were really attentive and friendly. Would like to try the off your normal menu next time. Overall we had a great Christmas evening.

I recently had dinner at The Quills and what a great experience it was. We were looked after by Ronnie, who I have to say was fantastic. He was very attentive and looked after us well. He was very knowledgeable about the menu. I couldn't decide what to eat and he gave some great recommendations. I had the prawn stew, which was delicious. There is a really good choice of drinks and cocktails. I am currently not drinking and had the Virgin Mojito, which was lovely, made me feel I wasn't missing out and looked like a grown up drink! I work in hospitality, so tend to be more observant and critical! I can always tell when a restaurant has invested time in training their staff. The High Street does have lots of eateries, but this one is great. Tasty, well cooked food, with brilliant service. Thank you , will definitely be back.

Paid 40 pounds for two burgers a beer and a coffee. I ordered the cod goujon burger. Basically it was fish fingers in a brioche bun. No flavour. I could buy cod from a supermarket and all the trimmings and it still would cost less and taste better than what I was served today. Very very very poor. Won't be dining in here again. Waste of money.

Found is a table on a busy Saturday afternoon. Despite being busy, service was very good and food absolutely delicious!

Working in hospitality, I am true beliver in giving credit where its due. I had the pleasure of eating at this independent eatery this evening and wss not disappointed. We were looked after by Ronnie, who I have to say was exceptional. I can never make up my mind on what to eat and Ronnie helped me choose with his recommendations. I went for the Prawn stew, which was lovely. There is also a great choice of drinks. I can't drink anymore due to medication and had the Virgin Mojito, which looked and tasted really grown up! I'm also not good with wheat and there was lots of GF choices! All the team we came into contact with made us feel really welcome and it's clear they love their jobs. Highly recommend this lovely restaurant and can't wait to go back!

A must visit when it Rochester - we have never been let down in any respect by The Quills, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. In this visit for lunch, we were serviced by Sandra who couldn’t have been more friendly, caring & accommodating - especially with the option of a sweet from the ‘treasure chest’ at the end of the meal for our 8 year old. Food amazing and reasonably priced. All of the above applies regardless of how busy they are - unlike some of the restaurants in Rochester.

Whilst the staff were pleasant, the food was mediocre at best. Tempura king prawns were identical to the ones I had from Tesco the previous day and we were disappointed to find that basic condiments and ingredients weren't available.

Never had a bad breakfast here, the flavoured lattes are lovely and the front of house service is always good as well. Prices are competitive (everything’s gone up as we know) but I’ve never walked away feeling hungry.

A nice place with brilliant, attentive staff but unfortunately the food was a bit disappointing for the price and definitely out of the packet. If you’ve nowhere else to go on a busy day it’s a good shout with plenty of tables.

Been here a couple of times with my family and I visited yesterday for a staff Christmas meal. We booked the set meal but a few of us were a little disappointed. There was 17 of us and we were charged in full for a colleague's set meal who couldn't make it at the last minute. We had all already paid £10 deposit so did feel that this was unfair and a little misjudged on the manager's part. No crackers and weirdly for a roast dinner only new potatoes - no roast potatoes unfortunately. Apart from this, the meal was enjoyable and the staff were great. Very friendly and capable, but doubt we will visit again, due to feeling a little flat due to the above.

What a fantastic night 12 off us came for Xmas lunch, from starter to dessert all food was delicious, tasteful and worth every penny. We had a fantastic waitress called Lucie who was amazing from start to finish, what a great asset to this restaurant. Polite, friendly and had a laugh with our party. We will definitely be returning, would highly recommend the veg soup, the xmas lunch and the banoffee cheesecake. Keep up the good work...

Had lunch here with a group of friends when we were visiting the Dickens festival. I chose a chicken and bacon salad. The food was OK, but was made up mainly of lettuce, with three slithers of tomato, three very small chunks of chicken and some cut up pieces of bacon on the top. There were a few bits of a pita bread on the side, plus one slice of wholemeal bread, and a dressing which was the only thing that gave the meal any real taste. I consider this very poor value for money indeed, considering it cost £14.49

Medway Street Angels charity had their Christmas Dinner at The Quill last night. We all agreed it was sensational food. We received sensational service and we had sensational night. The restaurant was packed and the way we got looked after made us all feel special

Went for a Christmas meal and had the set menu which we pre-ordered. The quality of the food was poor and nothing was fresh, which is a shame because I’ve had a nice meal here before. The halloumi fries were clearly from frozen, the main Christmas dinner had tinned potatoes (definitely not garlic and herb as described), hard parsnips and the Yorkshire pudding was clearly from frozen too. Pudding was average. Everyone in the group of 12 of us had the same opinion. I spoke to the 2 managers about the quality of the food which we would have expected to be better for £32 each and was met with a really poor attitude. They essentially told me that we were wrong and there was nothing wrong with the food. I never complain unless I need to. In the end I told the managers to do whatever they wish with the feedback as they were clearly not open to hearing it and we paid full price. All it would have taken was an apology that they didn’t meet the expectations we had expected to receive. Instead they couldn’t have been less interested. The waitress serving us was lovely so we left her a generous tip. I can forgive a bad one off meal but none of us will be back simply because of the managers attitude towards the situation. I’m sure their reply to this will be as argumentative and defensive as it was in person. A restaurant arguing with their customers… not a good look. The 1 stars for service is a reflection of the managers service, not the waitress.

A wonderful setting for a lovely lunch with friends. Food and drink were all delicious, the restaurant feels cozy and homely, and the staff are all very friendly. Special mention for Fraser - what a lovely young man. He was made for the job! I said to my friends, his Mum should be very proud of him! So friendly, chatty and efficient. And knowledgeable about the menu too which is always nice. Highly recommended by us, that's for sure.

Very disappointed, was recommended to this restaurant by a friend but just tried to make a reservation for the 18th of November, (not in December) & was told it would be a Christmas booking! Popped in here for lunch to get out of the rain. We were met with a warm welcome and lovely atmosphere. They were accomodating to the needs of our party which included two babies. There were great vegan options for myself and a high variety of choices for us to all have food that took our fancy. Our server deserves recognition, he was called Daniel, he was wonderful and took a smashing picture of us all at the end too. Great experience, great place to eat!

Extensive menu, almost too big which made me concerned the food may not be all that great when trying to provide such a large choice, but I need not have worried. We had 4 different meals though with starters and dessert and they were all really good. We've also been for breakfast a year or so ago which was also good. Prices are what you'd expect for the location, certainly not cheap but a fair reflection or the location and quality of food. Staff were very friendly as well, so an all round excellent experience.

A nice hidden restaurant that has some really good food, wide variety of drinks and cocktails too. Burgers are always worth a go when they come in brioche buns. The time for food to come was a bit longer than expected even though it was not busy. Still highly recommended.

Had a family lunch for four adults today at 13.00, from the moment we arrived to when we departed everything was first class, the food was excellent, with generous portions, the service was very attentive, but without any rush, & the welcome made us feel that we were welcome, & not just customers.

Last min change of plan and attended here, could not fault it! The service from Fola was impeccable so polite, helpful and attentive. Food was great, super tasty and very good value for money. Really good gluten free options, one of the best brownies I have had in a long time. Good atmosphere, would recommend this restaurant, total gem in Rochester.

My parents, my son, and I came here after my son's swimming lesson for a well deserved brunch. My parents ordered full breakfasts, I ordered a custom breakfast for my son, and I had the shakshouka. The food is really well made for what it is and they serve good sized portions. The breakfasts were large and each component was tasty, the shakshouka was delicious, quite spicy which I like, and the eggs poached well on top. It's quite a busy cafe on a Saturday and it becomes a little frantic in moments but actually it's quite nice inside and out.

Walked in and was greeted in a warm friendly manner, we were shown to a table and served promptly. The food was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed out meal. However I was put out when it came to pay, that the "tip" was compulsory and at a fixed rate. I prefer to give the staff a tip directly and not pay the company. I was also put out by the fact the the toilet doors were clear glass and anyone walking past could see everything. No privacy what so ever! Please sort it out....
