We live in porthleven and took a cousin there who was staying with us from shepperton, had a great meal, couldn't say about the beer, I was driving so on alcohol free guiness, used to go there when alec robertson was the landlord.

Just visited from our B&B. Had a great meal and drinks with the new owner.

Went during the beer and cider festival. Live music, great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Very friendly pub, we ate there twice over 2 weeks and the food is excellent in both quality and quantity, big area inside and out, we only booked for one meal but recommend booking as some people could not get a table.5 STAR experience.

Worth just coming off the main road for this delightful pub. Just called in for a pint, but we we're made very welcome, the menu looked good and the beer was very good (Butcombe Original). We'll be back.⁹

Located in a delightful village setting, having enjoyed our Sunday roast a year ago, upon our annual holiday to nearby Porthleven, we are unreservedly pleased to praise the delicious food and prompt cheerful service provided by the new owners and staff. Very family friendly, we felt really welcome. The huge outdoor space and play area was perfect for us with young children. The food was delicious. They didn't have a printed out children's menu which I would've preferred but they told us a few items at the bar and were really flexible, said they could make anything on the menu into a child's portion. If we're ever in the area again would definitely return.

Stunning meal! Massive portions of high quality produce! We will definitely be back!

What has happened to this pub? I have visited this pub regularly over years. My last visit was very disappointing, the staff were unwelcoming, although at the bar we said we wanted to eat. we had to ask for a menu when seated. on ordering both chosen options, we were told they were both unavailable and at this point we were told there would be very little garnish/salad as they had run out (supermarket down the road). Food when it came was uninteresting. The pudding was just splattered all over the plate. The chef appeared looking untidy and barely dressed! Will not be going back!

Had a light bite here today Tuesday 10th October. Food was good to be honest… but menu said add a portion of chips £2 …. When the bill came I was charged £4 which seemed a bit off. When I questioned it the guy behind the bar said ‘you had two wraps’ … I said but I only had one portion of chips … he said ‘that’s just how it is..I have a word with them’ I showed him the menu but still got charged twice what I should have. Needless to say I didn’t tip. Shame as the place was nice 😉

Hi I just spent two nights in this location I want to say the rooms are very clean and stylish the staff is very polite and very decent I felt super good

How can you make an informed decision about whether to visit when there is no proper website or menu. There are options but when accessed, spurious item appear and certainly not a menu. Therefore will not consider frequenting this establishment. Had to give one star but should be zero.

Great pub and small Inn. We stayed in the king Dragonfly room and it was decent. Note this is a very old building with sloping floors but I do recommend staying here.

Only had a meal. Great food, large portions. Very friendly helpful staff (Kevin).

We called in to the queens arms while on holiday in cornwall after coming across the pub while on holiday and we were not disappointed, was greeted by very friendly and helpful staff, given a table straight away, we had some lovely food and nothing was too much trouble, we enjoyed it that much that I booked to eat there again on our last night in cornwall,would highly recommend

Except food,wonderful staff and a fantastic quiz night

It was all “fine”. It’s a local pub serving fried pub food. Friendly staff. The ribs portion is miserly and the fries were over salted. The scampi and chips was OK. Average prices for the area. It’s nothing to get excited about and if we were in the area again I doubt that we’d rush back , but we wouldn’t avoid. Nothing stood out as above and beyond and nothing was awful. If I was pressed for a one word description it would be “beige”

We popped in for a meal and wasn't disappointed we had steak and all the trimmings was delicious. Steak cooked exactly how we like it,everything was fresh and service was friendly and helpful, happy. Thank you for your service.

Lovely little find here. Stayed nearby and walked to this pub for dinner, all 4 meals my group had were superb! Staff were great and friendly, would recommend highly if you are in the area. (Guinness also was 9/10!)

Mild cheese on a ploughman's, a Massive NO NO NO, and only one peice of cheese. Won't have that again.

We stayed at Praa Sands, so the Queens Arms was a short drive away for us. Situated between Helston and Penzance in Beage, the Queens Arms is lovely. The people are super friendly and the food is lovely. Portions are of a really good size and very good value for money, with a good kids menu (bolognese is amazing). Highly recommended.

Stopped off on spec for a very late Wednesday lunch while holidaying in the area. Broad menu, great food, a welcoming atmosphere and helpful staff.

Terrible customer service very rude staff and locals made to feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome limited food menu this wasn’t a one of visit but we certainly won’t be returning after many years of it being one of our favourites

Excellent value for money. We are a family od 4 and ate here a week ago for dinner. Food was of a high standard and the service was excellent. We'd definitely return here...especially for the chips! Bravo

ribs tasted like supermarket ribs, the ploughman's didn't have the cheese on, not many vegetarian options either. but the beer and wine was good.

Visited yesterday a lovely friendly pub and great food

Food was ok, I had ragu with tagliatelle which was nice and my husband had the beef burger. The burger was supposed to be home made but suspiciously looked more like a well known frozen brand and just as tasteless

Had a 4 night stay here. It's a lovely, friendly pub/b&b that welcomes dogs, too. The food was tasty, hot, and well presented with a special mention to Helen, who made our breakfast every morning and was our housekeeper too. Looking forward to our next visit.

Friendly, clean. Generally a proper village pub. Food service was slow, 45 minutes at lunchtime on a quiet Monday. Burnt bacon in a chicken wrap, not so good. And please ask your chef to not try and reinvent wheel. I ordered chips and I expect long rectangular chips. Not some clam shelled shaped pieces of potatoes. However the quality of the cod was excellent.

Dropped in with friends, ordered a lunch which was very good. All of us had a different meal and all where enjoyed.

Great locals pub with a welcoming atmosphere and enthusiastic young team behind the bar. We had Jail Ale and Butcombe. We had the double Queens burger and the house Merlot. All went down very well. Would definitely go back for the quiz night on Thursdays.

enjoyable lunch in the garden, with free car parking available on site. good selection of real ales also available. some of the tables a bit rickety and the grass could have done with a cut - tables looked as if they are in the process...

Ordered the selection of bread with balsamic vinegar olive oil and a portion of olives. The bread came out and the ‘selection’ consisted of a cut up burger bun, a cold tortilla wrap and a small piece of sandwich bread. The ‘olive oil’ resembled more...

Popped in for a pint on the way back from Lands End. The place was cosy and we got served immediately by Kevin (?) the main guy. Friendly, traditional pub, ample beer garden space, healthy choice of crisp flavours and a cool, quenching pint! Toilets were very clean too, cracking pub 👍

Having visited on the way home from a great day out , the staff are super friendly and made every effort to accommodate us bearing in mind we hadn’t booked . The food was amazing ( roast beef + roast pork ) got to meet some great local’s as well, definitely worth a visit you won’t be disappointed.

Lovely little Pub / Hotel I might have been biased as it was the first traditional little pub we went to on our holiday. But the people were really helpful and friendly, the lady who cooked us breakfast in particular was really helpful with a few tips for travelling around the area. The breakfast was one of the best we've had, the bacon was perfect. The room was good, everything was functional.

Dropped in for a lunchtime snack and a pint. The staff were very friendly to us and our dog, making us feel very welcome. The food was reasonably priced, the portions a good size and it was absolutely delicious. All in all a very nice, friendly and worthwhile visit. We shall definitely return when next we are down that way.

We regularly visit the queens and love the staff food and events. The weekly quiz is fantastic and always well attended. Food and menu choices are great.

My parnter and i had a gorgeous lunch here. I had the beer battered fish, chips and mushy peas and my partner had the rack of ribs with colslaw and corn on the con. Both meals were delicious. The food cooked here is locally sourced...

Good curry, though quite mild for my taste. Lemon tart with raspberry sorbet and mixed fruit coulis was excellent. This is a charming country pub.

I don’t usually review places but I had to. Arrived and was greeted at the bar in a polite and friendly manner. Room was excellent for what I needed and spotlessly clean. For evening meal, I went for the ploughman’s and was so glad I did. Highly recommended, it was amazing. Quiz in the bar was entertaining. Slept really well in a comfortable bed and had the best breakfast ever (included in price of room). Overall this place is better than some that charge 3x more. All staff were great. I can highly recommend.

Came here with family after a family funeral and had a lovely lunch. I had the small lunch fish and chips which was still a pretty good size. Friendly staff, good beer and reasonably priced. Well Done!

Excellent food! Lovely customer service and a great atmosphere. We were recommended this place by the owners of Ewe with a view and it didn’t disappoint. Just a lovely place. It was warm and cozy and the staff were incredibly attentive to our needs.

Lovely welcoming staff. Room very clean. Bedding and towels spotlessly clean.. Excellent breakfast by the excellent Beryl. Would definitely stay here again.

Good food , nice staff , clean everywhere, we forgot to take into consideration how a very old pub is so noisy , plumbing system, horrendously loud , we could hear every word said in the bar below. On the Monday night my husband slept...

Hardly got any sleep, could hear conversations in the bar very clearly til half 11 at night, 7 am in the morning could hear kitchen staff arriving , every time other guests in the other room put the tap on or flushed the loo sounded as though they were in the same room. Understand it’s an old building, but the noise level was ridiculous. Cost £26 more to book with a gift voucher than booking direct so be careful of that . Staff were friendly, breakfast lady was wonderful, food was tasty and hotel , bar etc very clean but unfortunately due to lack of sleep wouldn’t return or recommend to stay .

Friendly pub serving food. We went for a Sunday roast and were not disappointed. Good comfort food and I was impressed with 5 different vegetables on my plate as well as roast beef and potatoes. The veg was a little overcooked but still got eaten! Staff friendly too. We were seated in the bar area. Just remember it is a pub primarily. Very nice and would return when in the area.
