The Queen Victoria in Windsor and Maidenhead

Lovely little gem of a pub. Friendly, laid-back staff. Lounge area next to the bar, A quiet reading room in the back. Seating out front. A quiet escape from "loud" tourists. Nice.

Cool little pub to rest at after wandering all morning and afternoon. I wanted a cider, and the bartender recommended a Rekorderlig pear cider with strawberry-lime blend, which was excellent.

Person serving behind the bar was either drunk or on something. More dogs in the pub than people which in this case was a good thing. On visiting the toilet , I found the English version of train spotting. Someone had xxxx over the pan rather than in it . Half filled up with dirty toilet roll. More of a Zoo than a pub. Think I will give it a miss in future just like the person did in one of the toilets.

It’s a good pub except for the young low life lad who comes in and with his big dog and sits with no drink it’s happened on a number of occasions but it is accepted

This is the coolest places I have been in the whole world… I take everything with a grain of salt, yet Sharon at The Queen Victoria pub was most welcoming, come in have a paint of the London Pride, talk to locals, you’ll never know whom you’ll meet. Also ask Sharon for a baby Guinness🤩 you have not live until you had a baby Guinness.

Great little traditional pub! The woman working behind the bar had a very dry sense of humour which we found to be very funny.

We really had a nice time here, A man from Glasgow chatted to us outside about the old times @ Xmas when all the pheasants & geese were hanging up outside at the butchers next door,he was a real gent, So, we went inside this cozy pub with an open fire roaring away,The Bar lady was very pleasant & patient. An overall nice experience & makes us want to go back there again.

Feels like the Locals Local, but not in a negative way.

I asked for a bottle of stella and the barmaid told me it was going to be warm, as the fridge was having issues, so i took a moment to look at what else they had, decided on a cider, she asked if i wanted a pint, i asked for a half pint and she said “okay you really need to tell me what you want” as if she was in a rush (when the place was quiet), i did not dignify that with a response, and i did tell you what i wanted, and it was warm, so maybe give me a moment? Did not feel very welcome after that snide comment, she was polite after that, and i was polite back, but that snide comment made me feel uncomfortable, didn’t apologise about the fridge having problems, i work in a bar myself so i know customer service, and hers was not very good, when i work in a bar, i take time to help the customer decide, rather than rushing them. She was sitting down when i walked in so maybe she just wanted to sit back down. Prices were cheap and they had a smoking area, so ill give a second star for that

After visiting many pubs in Windsor we came across this little gem. Very clean, toilets were spotless and the barmaid was very welcoming

We recently stayed in Windsor for a few nights. After trying a few different bars we were always drawn back to the Queen Victoria. The QV is a nice cosy bar with a very friendly atmosphere and the barmaid Natalie was very welcoming. This was by far our favourite place to have a drink and would definitely return.

Cozy pub, great ambience and good value. Highlight though is the landlady who was lovely. She even ran out after me when I’d left my phone on the table. Highly recommend if you’re down the bottom end of town

Great pub with friendly staff and a good selection of drinks, was a cold night and they had a lovely fire going in thr fireplace, only gripe was the venue just didn't have enough room but, it was a busy night.

Never actually drank in this pub but the staff were great when I was assaulted by a doorman in the pub opposite thank you to Gillian and other staff members .

Walking down the street, a girl came up to my boyfriend I. She was quite tipsy and said she felt afraid, and asked if we could please walk her past a group of creepy men standing outside the Queen Vic. Of course we would. Whilst walking her past, I asked how she was getting home and she said her lift was on its way and would be about 25 mins. It was a freezing night, she was drunk, and there were real creeps about. She said she needed the loo, so we took her into this pub and asked if she could use the bathroom and sit inside safely until her lift came. The barmaid said she could use the loo but would have to “leave immediately afterwards”. There were plenty of empty chairs. “She can’t just sit inside for 20 mins to stay safe?!”, I said, aghast. “Sorry love” was the response. I get that it’s a business. But what happened to the idea of a “public house” being a pillar of the community? And of decent morals for looking out for one another? I’d rather pay half the price and buy my beer at the supermarket than support a business like this. What’s the point of drinking somewhere so inhospitable?

we arrived a 9pm , but was barked at by the barmaid as we walked through the door, that they closing at 10 Pm . Then no Ice for drinks or she was to lazy get some ! She just generally had bad attitude ! Cozy Pub .. Bad staff..

Having spent two days in Windsor and Eton we finally found The Queen Victoria. What a great find. The bar maid was lovely and definately the most pleasant bar maid in all the pubs we went in. Greeted with a smile and a welcoming comment. She even recalled our drinks when we went back to the bar without asking on what was clearly a very busy night. Met some nice locals in the pub too. I would recommend having a pint or three if your in Windsor as it was a lovely atmosphere too.

This pokey little pub on the corner of a high street in Windsor looks pleasant but when we visited yesterday it was a let down. A very dull welcome in fact there was no welcome the woman looked miserable. We were trying to find seats outside the woman never mentioned about there being an outside back garden until someone else told us. Drinks were ok but service rubbish !

Nice little pub. They have a shelf of books that you can buy for £1 and the money from that goes to a charity. Prices are an little higher than other pubs, but given the location, not unexpected. There is outdoor seating as well.

Preferred when it was The Criterion with it's excellent juke box. Now it's very quiet and small. Good pint of Guinness, I had.

Refused entry to me and my friends saying that they were closed at 1915. Poor attitude

Wonderful little pub good beer and very clean, but totally empty during afternoon session, maybe the totally miserable German barmaid had something to do with that.

Very nice pub in Windsor. We were there on a Saturday lunchtime. I was drinking Wadworth 6X. They also had some very nice South East Asian food. I had a very tasty Beef Redang (Malay curry). The service was excellent. I'd come here again.

Really rude staff, slow service and while a few dishes were okay mostly bland food. Prices are fairly reasonable, but walk a few hundred metres and you'll get better for the same. You go to a pub for good social environment and with snippish staff like that I'd rather have stayed at home.

Another Dog Friendly Pub, the food and the atmosphere is excellent. The menu gives a wide selection of options to choose from. The Bar service is superb with a no of different Real ales to choose from.

Lovely look place. Have own characters. Nice fireplace and decoration . Good location. And that's it . Barman/ waiter older lady probably it wasn't her day .. behave rude and even didn't give ones a nice smile . Couldn't order some food need waiting around 30-40 minutes as there was some private lunch going on . 🙄.. Wish to have more places like it if customer service is more challenge .. outside look like a beauty awesome pub where you can back to Quinn ages..unfortunately smell by beer and cigarette inside. ;( shame

The pub is a traditional old pub. Staff okay but not that friendly. Pub allowed us to take our dog into the pub, which was a bonus.

We stopped off for a drink and glad we did. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly. We did not eat but the food selection looked very nice.

Nothing oldy-worldy or chocolate box about this pub, just a good old fashioned boozer, with a lovely mix of regulars and visitors. This would originally have been a single room pub with a small three sided bar, but I suspect it's been extended at some stage to add a couple of small rooms at the back for people to sit and/or eat. I popped in for a pint on a miserable wet and cold November day and it couldn't have been more welcoming and cosy. The landlord gave me a great welcome and was an excellent host to some tourists, who spoke only limited English. There's a good range of real ales and craft beers and lagers at very reasonable prices. I spent a really enjoyable 45 minutes or so here and loved the atmosphere.

Loved it. No frills, just a proper, honest down to earth British Pub with a good selection of beers and all the usual ranges of alcoholic drinks. A decent menu offering proper pub grub and the staff are really friendly. Dog friendly was an added bonus, and they gave my little pooch a bowl of watwr and some doggy nibbles. I will definately be back there. Nice to find an unspoilt pub. Prices are normal for the area. Those staff do like to get paid and someone has to pay the rent.
