The Providence Inn in Shepway

We went here for a birthday meal for my partner, and were made very welcome. The menu is clearly marked with allergens but were told that any item in the menu could be adjusted to suit. The food was delicious and the service excellent. A lovely place to eat.

Probably the best oysters I've had in Kent. The pub is a hidden gem, at least for me. The service is exceptional and the pub has a great vibe to it. Great selection of ales and lagers located right on the high street and beach is a minute away. Would highly recommend and definitely be back to try other dishes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

There Sunday roast is outstanding.. Try it, you won’t be disappointed! I also love their scotch eggs. Never feel rushed when we have been here and nothing is too much trouble for them.

Went today for Sunday lunch with family and friends. We chose roast beef and roast chicken meals which were really good with lots of lovely vegetables. We also had different puddings which were great. Well done team!

A friend and I visited this establishment yesterday lunchtime and had lunch. The food was hot; reasonably priced and there was a good atmosphere. The place has a good vibe about it. When out and about I always like to comment on the cleanliness of the place. It was clean and tidy and the toilets were impeccable. Altogether a very pleasurable experience

Had one of the best paellas I’ve had with a nice bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Great food, great service from friendly owners, highly recommended.

After a few years of eating dreadful food at the restaurant beside the Premier Inn, we checked TripAdvisor and found this restaurant. Superb is putting it mildly. Perfect service, tasty food in good helpings & all for a very reasonable price. Will be back without a doubt.

I absolutely love the Providence Inn, there is a wealth of places to eat in and around Folkestone and this is my favourite. I usually opt for the oysters to start and seafood linguine. If I have room the lemon posset is perfect to finish off with. Fantastic service great ambiance and the food is far superior to some of the more expensive restaurants around here

I arranged a Sunday lunch for four adults and two children. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The roast was amazing we had two roast beef and two roast chicken all were beautifully prepared . The children had 1/2 portions of the adult portion which was very generous. The deserts were equally as tasty. We would definitely come back again

New venue for my wife and I -- great surprise. Terrible day for rain but inside a nice welcome . Sunday lunch menu just fine . The meal was fabulous -- very well presented - well cooked - hot .maybe the main portion a bit big -- I had beef which was at its best .

The best Sunday lunch in Sandgate. Fantastic menu, the quality of the food is amazing, the presentation superb and beats all other offerings hands down. The only downside is the premises is cold and has limited drinks to offer. If you want a fantastic meal, head here.

Superb as always, this understated often overlooked Sandgate pub serves up fantastic food, with excellent hosting from the owner Darryl. Well worth seeking out for seafood, an array of choice for mussels, oysters, homemade houmous and more, all very reasonably priced. Highly recommended

We were searching for somewhere for dinner for our last night in the UK .. we were recommended The Providence Inné just a short walk from where we were staying at the Ship inn - Sandgate. The food was delicious.. we enjoyed a Seafood Paella and Prawn Laguine. Their service we couldn’t fault.. food arrived quickly and presented nicely. There was nothing left on plate.. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic food especially the seafood stew. Great service and all at a reasonable cost for what we received. The Doom Bar was spot on too. Loved the table that was inlaid with beer bottle caps.

Our local as we live 5 minutes away. Never disappointed, food is just excellent, had the roast, fresh veg, succulent chicken, roasted veggies delicious. Try the lemon posset with homemade.shortbread biscuits, devine.

Ok i bit bias be honest , but away from the lovely local pub with its regulars etc , the Food expieriance is totaly amazing , tables away from the bar but still give you an atmosphere your in a real proper involved environment with the locals , fabulous . Great staff etc 100%

Went with my family and granddaughter for lunch on Saturday. We were welcomed like old friends. There was plenty of voice on the menu and the food we had was delicious. All said we would definitely be going back.

I have lived in Folkestone for well over 20 years and as a rule the restaurant offerings are rather poor, poor menus, poor quality. Last Wednesday me I my friend went for lunch at the Providence Inne. On being presented the menu the magic started, read the first item and thought I am ordering that, thought the same after the second item, and the next one, and the one after that. My friend and I decided to order the small plate specials, all of them! The menu read well and had tickled our taste buds with expectations. When the food was served and we tucked in with our forks and knives the expectations were more than exceeded. Every dish was from great to sublime. The presentation was spot-on, but at the opposite of a lot eating places the food had taste, and I mean taste. A simple lunch, at affordable price and great cooking. We have been going to The Providence for years but drinks only. It has had many managers but have to say now is the best it has ever been.We ate here for the 1st time one Friday lunchtime and was not disappointed, great Fish and Chips and a good pint of Guinness. Highly recommended

We were made so welcome and kept going back across our long weekend - and will probably go back! It’s got a lovely warm vibe and is really nicely done. We have come down to Sandgate for a long weekend with our our adult daughter and fiancé.The first night we went to the Providence Inne we didn’t need to look for anywhere else to eat and drink as the food/drink/ambience/clientele were all perfect.If you are in Sandgate and don’t try it you are seriously missing out.

Stopped by for lunch on a whim, really good food & great deserts! Friendly and knowledgeable staff (including the new owner who was super-lovely!) with decent music too! Will definitely be going there again.
