Fantastic meal. Family meal for a birthday. Food was great, prices decent. Staff very friendly. Restaurant clean and spacious. We will definitely return. Highly recommended.

The best lunch out since we were here a year ago! Lovely hot mushroom soup, wholemeal homemade bread, great roast beef, lots of meat, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and carrots. Lemon meringue pie with cream and strawberry. Along with a half of beer and iced water, £36.40 for the two of us. Excellent service from cheerful staff.

Fabulous food and amazing service for our whole stay at the hotel. Such a wide range of dishes to choose from at dinner and cooked breakfasts to die for. It was great to have such friendly staff, who all care that visitors enjoy their stay. They make it feel like you're at a home away from home.

Booked to stay for three nights with family . Booked for the restaurant every night only to find out on the third night by a poster displayed in each of the ladies toilets ( not in the gents - discrimination ? ) that there is an offer on the ‘ High Tea’ 2 for £30. There was no mention of this when booking the accommodation or when booking in for the restaurant. No mention when ordering the food from the ‘High Tea menu’ . Extremely disappointed in this poor customer service . Surely it would be good practice to inform customers of this offer especially for those booked in the hotel. After spending good money in the hotel, restaurant, cafe and bar it’s very disappointing finding out in this way. The 2 stars are deducted for this reason. Everything else was okay. Advise anyone booking for hotel or restaurant to ask if they have any offers !

Went in tonight for dinner with my partner and orderd the braemar chicken and chicken liver pate for mains with 2 lattes. The dressing they drowned the salad with was disgusting. Which in turn were not able to eat the salad, only got given 3 small oatcakes with the pate Aswel which isn’t enough. Moving onto the braemar chicken the broccoli was undercooked. The mashed potatoes under the chicken and sauce was soggy and horrible as was the cheap black pudding inside the chicken. I barely eat any of it and when it came to the end of the meal I complained about these issues at the bar and asked if she was still going to charge me for something I complained about and did not eat. To be told i will go get the manager. The manager came over an older woman who was very rude and tried the usual “I asked you through the meal if anything was wrong and you didn’t say”. I did not want to cause a fuss at the table in front of customers so I waited until we went to pay and she was very rude and shocking customer service. I told her I wasn’t happy with this and she continued to charge me full price then took some discount off the bill a whole £5. Shouldn’t have had to pay anything for the meal I barely eat and complained about but seems to be anything just to get your money from you these days. After giving this place a chance 2 times I will NOT be back and they need to improve on their customer service instead of being rude.

Good points—Service..Crackers..Muted music..Vegetables..Christmas pudding..Turkey..Bread. Not so good—Way overdone beef wellington overpowered by herbs and to much pastry…”Prawn cocktail” served on flat plate with a smear of sauce and side garnish withe red onion and tomato??..Tough chewy roast potatoes.. Had to ask for cranberry sauce…Stodgy stuffing ball, again overpowered by herb. We have enjoyed carvery here so imagined xmas lunch to be much elevated. Rest of family, who will eat anything, agreed on all this but was overruled in saying anything at risk of spoiling xmas vibe.

Excellent service, warm friendly atmosphere. The food was probably the best meal I've had out for many years. Will definitely return, sooner rather than later.

Lovely restaurant, so much that we ate here 2 nights in a row. The first meal we had Gluten free fish and chips, which were fantastic. The second night we had grilled rump steak which was also so very good. We enjoyed both meals and can highly recommend eating here with all the different dietary needs. (gluten free, vegetarian/ vegan etc. )Talk to the staff and they will help you. The staff was very pleasant and polite. Special thank you to Kirsteen for making our meal very nice with your great service and warm smile. Again, highly recommend The Priory Hotel Restaurant and bar bistro. Stumbled across here when staying local and we were hungry . Place was busy for a Wed, but seated quickly and order taken . Both went for steak pie . Literally within two minutes pies arrived .. absolutely red hot .. one with frozen French fries and one with mash . Mash was awful - watery and obviously a few days old - frozen fries cheap and hard . But the pie was a different beast- absolutely delicious meat and gravy . Best we've had ! Decided to book for the next night ( as it was a one horse town and our last night ) ordered fish and chips and a mixed grill. Fish had NO taste , soggy obviously frozen and hard French fries again. Mixed grill was actually a breakfast with a pork steak on it .. all really bizarre! Suck as shame as with care and attention and some home made chips this place could be fab !

The chef at our hotel recommended the carvery here and we weren’t disappointed. The meal was reasonably priced and delicious. Everything you would want from a carvery, lovely soft meats and a great selection of vegetables and stuffings etc. Atmosphere was a little lacking but staff were all helpful and friendly. Would recommend.

Called in for lunch on the off chance with no booking. Welcomed in and attended to by very pleasant staff. Very nice meals .

We had two evening meals in this hotel, one with our well behaved 7 month old puppy,and one as a couple. It said on there website they were dog friendly, but they are not really, only in there separate grotty bar area down a back lane which has to be accessed via the back lane.(they wouldn't even let us walk though from the main area when i had booked a table) The food and staff were lovely in the bar, but I think it's a bit of a cheek asking customers to pay the same prices in this bar as in the restaurant or lounge, there should be a separate bar menu. A few nights later we left our puppy in our holiday home and booked a take in the restaurant, the waiter who took our orders was excellent and very professional, we both ordered steak. Mine was rump - parts of it were very tender and the accompaniments were lovely, but almost a third of it was pure gristle. I pointed this out to the waitress when she took the plates away she apologised and said she would bring to the chefs attention. She never came back to us with any feedback which we found very disappointing, we were not offered a discount,dessert or drink when considering we had only one course a drink and a bottle of wine and the meal came to over £90 seems alot for a 3 * hotel.Such a shame as this place could be so good. I'm afraid we wouldn't return

We were recommended to the Priory by the owner of the property we were renting for the week. This is a busy hotel so booking is essential. It has a great atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. I had soup followed by the "special", rib eye steak. Very tasty indeed with an excellent steak sauce included. If we'd had longer we would have gone back again. Heartily recommended.

Had high tea here several times before but found this disappointing tonight. Service was disorganised and meals not to the usual standard. Toast was forgotten and had to request more butter, salt, etc.

I booked a table in the Bar Bistro as we were travelling with our young puppy. The service was chaotic because in my opinion the Beer Garden wasn’t adhering to the 1m distancing between members of different households. I also had misgivings about allowing drinks to be order at the Bar. IMOH waited service at tables is safer for everyone.

The Priory Hotel The Square, Beauly IV4 7BXCovid 19, Scottish lock-down, wondered if we would ever reach our Highlands and Dolphins destination The Priory Hotel The Square, Beauly. We arrived Thursday 15th & departed Monday 19th October. Coach parking always challenging in The Square. We were warmly greeted, given our keys and cases taken to our rooms.My room decent size with double bed (large single supplement paid) and plenty of power points no problem for sleep apnoea machine. There was only one problem the window had a Plain White Vertical Blind. Talk about “see -through” if I woke in the night it felt like football flood lights were shining in! Bathroom was adequate, there was a bath with shower over and a non-slip coating on floor of bath. I could still climb in but older pensioners found this too challenging. Dariusdave passed his three score years and ten very early in lock-down. Hot water supply good, loo flushed well.It was October bedroom was always warm even with main radiator turned off. Room had fine wardrobe, plenty of hangers, modern tv, tea & coffee making with lovely shortcake biscuit.Meals breakfasts were magnificent what a joy to start each morning with a large bowl of creamy porridge. Cooked Scottish breakfast, hope photos show, Manifique. Butcher’s sausages, real bacon, black pudding, sliced mushrooms, grilled tomato, potato cake and fried egg absolutely yummy set me up for the day.Dinners far better than many coach hotels. Included magnificent Scottish lamb, roast rump of Scottish beef, red cabbage, creamy cauliflower cheese good roasties. We were delighted to be able to try the Chef's signerature Steak pie lovely but brefered both lamb and roast rump of beef.The Priory may be classified a 3* hotel, but overall (except for see-through blind) far better than many 4* coach hotels. Friendly helpful staff a genuinely warm atmosphere would Dariusdave stay again unreservedly yes.Beauly is a lovely town, very welcoming to us English in Square, Shops and Church.

Very overcooked veg and steak tuff swimming in fat, sent it back. disgusting. there is nothing to add other than i will never give it a second chance.

This is currently our "go to" place for lunch, morning coffee or an afternoon catch up!The tables are spaced out so you are well away from others and the tables and chairs are cleaned completely between guests. Most of the people I want to catch up with are in the slighty vulnerable group so it is really important to me that I am not taking them anywhere that might expose them to more risks than necessary.Safety aside this is fantastic value! Two course lunch for less than £10 and if you go for morning coffee I highly recommend the ring donughts - freshly baked and just delicious - not sure one is enough though! Staff must be sick of the sight of me but I have yet to find anywhere in the local area who are doing quite so much exactly right!Best to book for lunch though as it can get pretty busy. Can't recommend highly enough.

Right in the middle of the Covid lockdown and we've found a gem. Very well prepared for Covid with exceptional cleanliness all around. Staff brilliant and food amazing. Well done to all. Will come back again and again

Great location in Beauly with the Priory almost next door. We had a superior king size room. Enormous and very clean but slightly dated. Very good sleep however which is the important thing and we were at the front. Had a very reasonable dinner, bed and breakfast deal. Food portions were huge. I enjoyed my curry but my partner chose badly and said his Cullen skink was short on fish with very aldente potatoes. He didn’t enjoy his burger which I tried and wasn’t great. However, the breakfast next morning was GREAT! Very tasty. Only real gripe was that we had late checkout and twice, different cleaning staff (no masks on ☹️) knocked on our door. Felt we were rushed out because of that.

Sunday carvery at this hotel is most excellent, but what makes this food even better is the staff. Nothing is any trouble for them. If the meat is to rare for you, they will give it a flame. The best bit was the waiter was unsure what cream we wanted with our sweet, so we got both types, yippee

We were booked in for High Tea as we had the same 3 years ago. Not disappointed. All the mains were good and the cake stand with cakes, scones and biscuits was excellent.The staff were also attentive and catered for all our needs.Great time in a lovely hotel.

Stopped off in Beauly on a cycle trip and had a superb lunch in their beer garden in glorious sunshine. £8.95 for 2 courses- can't argue with that! Very pleasant waiting staff as well. Well done!

Arrived in Beauly last Sarurday for 2 weeks.Thought we would kick the evening off with a meal and drinks at The Priory.Wow were we in for a shock, we entered and sanitised stood at the designated waiting area to be seated by a member of staff. After being ignored by at least 5 members of staff and waiting at least 10 minutes we walked out never to return. Could have understood if the establishment was busy, but there was only two people in the bar area. Shocking and rude. Would give minus points if possible.

Only stayed one night in this hotel but did have an evening meal, we stayed in a sweet room 38 Which is large and has a very large bathroom albeit a long walk along all the corridors to it.Our room had been sanitised and cleaned then sealed prior to our arrival, the food was excellent and the staff were very helpful. The breakfast and evening meal we are both good and good value for money,I would use this hotel again as I am in the area which is very beautiful.

Very disappointing meal. My family enjoyed what they had but I had mixed grill which was overcooked. Liver was like shoe leather and egg hard. I did say to the wait staff it was the first bad meal I had had in 13 years of eating there.

Extremely dis appointment! My husband and I had the prawn cocktail and I have never had such tasteless and watery prawns in my life . My son took the haggis neeps and tatties starter which was totally tasteless , this coming from my son who would eat anything . I then had the sizzling steak and paid extra for the pepper sauce , either the chef likes sugar or he used the same ladle for the sauce that he used in the glayva sauce , it was so sweet it was inedible . As for the steak one mouthful was enough it was very greasy and tasteless and I sent the whOle thing back . My husband had the chicken parmigiana special. No parma ham just streaky bacon again inedible. My son had the burger ( frozen) which he said was ok . We made our excuses and left and cancelled our other reservations. So disappointed as we are staying in beauly for a week and had intended eating in the restaurant each night now we are trying to find other places to eat . I was really surprised that so many people gave it positive reviews . Have these people no taste buds or has something gone drastically wrong .

We’ve been here before and loved it but today was a disappointment. Firstly we were left standing at the door for nearly 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us, then we were told your table is over there ( we weren’t even shown to it). The table hadn’t been cleaned so we had to ask for someone to come and clean it. Our afternoon tea was quite nice - apart from the sandwiches which would be fine if you like cheese!! No-one came near us to check if we had enough tea etc. All in all not the pleasant afternoon we had anticipated

We have just had a delicious family meal here and were impressed with the standards the staff have put in place. From the initial booking system to the socially distanced table layout, the cleaning procedures and the super service, we say “Well done!” Always a tasty treat served with a smile. Thank you!

We enjoyed a high tea here recently and it couldn’t have been lovelier! Beautifully prepared meals with friendly and attentive staff, with all appropriate measures taken to maintain social distancing during COVID. Absolutely hopeless service. Finished my starter before my drink actually made it to my table, having been sitting for 20 mins before being asked for our order. Now onto the food... starter was microwaved... main was a frozen pizza from co op with all the sweet chilli sauce drowning it... 4 chips as a side! All out rubbish. Should have known on the way into town when Freddy kruger scarecrows we’re putting people bins out!
