After being unable to find a place for a pub lunch in Grantown we asked some local people who directed us to The Pagoda. What a find ! The best Sunday lunch we have experienced in a while and the staff couldn’t have been any better, especially Kate who made a real fuss of our collie boy in this gem of a dog friendly place. It’s a little bit hidden as it’s off the main road but a real jewel we would highly recommend. So pleased to see a collection box for the Firefighters charity there too 🥰 Please take a little cash for tipping as they can’t add on to bill and we were so sorry we didn’t have cash on us as Kate’s service and manner was five ⭐️ Thank you so much you really made our day Kate!

This must be the 3rd or 4th time we've been here. This time it was very quiet with us being the only table for evening food. Food was as food as its been in the past. Very cold inside as others have mentioned. Service was good.

We had a beautiful meal. The food was beautiful and the staff were lovely and efficient. We would definitely come back it’s just a pity there weren’t more people. Lovely surroundings.

Enjoyed an excellent Sunday roast lunch at the Pagoda, the beef was cooked exactly as we asked and the Yorkshire puddings were great. Well worth a visit, especially on the dates where Sunday lunch is a carvery. There is a good varied menu the rest of the week, and it’s also great for homemade cakes. The staff are always polite, attentive, friendly and efficient.

An excellent Sunday roast, the beef was perfectly cooked to the individual tastes we requested. The service was welcoming and friendly in a relaxing atmosphere, great to chill out over a leisurely Sunday dinner.

Just had the Sunday carvery. Probably the best carvery I’ve had anywhere. Excellent quality and value. Roast Beef, ham and Turkey with veg, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and cauliflower cheese followed by apple crumble with custard.

Large family gathering and the food and service was excellent. Jon the chef prepared delicious roast dinners for 11 of us (including a vegetarian option) and Jack was extremely attentive to all drinks and food ordering. The portion sizes were very generous and the food served was piping hot and of super quality. There is an option of one/two/three courses and you can also ask for smaller portions, if required. Regrettably, we were too full for dessert. It’s not easy to run restaurants when staffing is stretched but we were delighted to be able to eat all together and for everyone to enjoy their meal.

We found this restaurant by change whilst walking from the Grantown on Spey caravan park. We were greeted with a smile by staff and were offered drinks as soon as we sat down. The fish and chips were perfect, even with curry sauce. Kate and Michael looked after us all evening, sharing a laugh and being knowledgable about the local area. Chef John deserves a special mention for the wonderful Scottish chicken, and the cheesecake was to die for. Nothing negative at all about this restaurant.

Had a lovely meal tonight, food excellent and great service from Kate and the young lad who was also working (sorry didn’t get his name) Soup & prawns for starter was delicious as was the steak & ale pie for main course. Reasonable price, would definitely recommend.

Food was served fast and was tasty, but what really stood out for us was the service we received from the waitress Kate. She really went above and beyond to ensure we had a perfect visit and nothing was too much to ask. I don’t usually write reviews but having worked in hospitality myself I know how important recognition from management is. We will be back next year!

Poor service , food not cooked properly and had to ask for our potatoes. Desserts were nothing to write about. Really disappointing as this was a birthday treat. Won’t be back!

Appallingly slow service, took an age for the food to arrive. And when it finally did, it was all tepid. Some of it tasted ok (nothing special), but the steak was awful – we asked for “medium-rare” but what we got wasn’t just “well-done”, it was one of the most overcooked steaks I’ve ever tasted.

Service a bit poor with only one member of staff to serve drinks and take food orders. The starter of nachos was nice but not worth £12.50. Fish was fresh and cooked well, however chips were hard and mushy peas just frozen ones from a packet. Wouldn’t go back in a hurry.

The Fish and Chip Shop is in our experience is without a doubt the BEST IN CAITHNESS AND SUTHERLAND! The fish was white and flakes. fried in beautiful crispy batter and the chips were perfect. We have experienced other Chip Shops in Wick,Thurso and Helmsdale, plus Mobile Chip Vans in Lybsterand Dunbeath and this has been the best so far too. We travelled around 30 miles to eat here and would do so again. THANK YOU.

After poor experiences in Oban and Fort William this place restored our faith in a Scottish breakfast and hospitality. Great service, even better breakfast made with quality ingredients.
