Lovely staff but then the food. Don't get the duck if you don't want to spend a week on the toilet with food poisoning from campy. The chocolate fondant dessert was not a fondant, rather a soufflé, still tasty but not what was expected, the lush orange sorbet was worth it by itself though.

The Asian mussel soup was very good, the fish and chips were interesting, the lime ice cream was delicious, the Scots know more about whiskey than wine

It was perfect for a business traveller having a fantastic burger at a great price in a lovely warm restaurant away from a heavy downpour. The serving staff were perfect 👌

Didn't have halal option so went with the vegetarian option for breakfast which was good and had a good portion size as well which was on top of the breakfast buffet as well.

Had a beautiful pre theatre dinner here before nipping across to eden court. The food was very high quality, tasty, and also very speedily served to us. We both had 3 courses, 1 side, and we had 2 glasses of wine and a diet coke. All of that for £68, we were very impressed. We are looking forward to coming back here for another meal at a later date. The setting of the restaurant allows for beautiful views out onto the River Ness, whilst it also benefits from ample parking at the back of the building. The entry to the car park is on a one way street, so be careful not to miss the entrance as you will have to do a lap around the buildings to get back.

Very nice, not quite 5 stars, but getting up there. Menu is perhaps a little bit confused with the Asian fusion element, but food was executed well.

Atmosphere is kind of loud but it's always like that at restaurants and there's no changing it. Service excellent, waiters very friendly and nice. Food is okay, 7.5/10. The fish is great, can't remember which one in particular though.

The best restaurant of our Scottish trip...we did the pre theatre special...delicious mussels and bass..

The ingredients used were of above average quality with the exception of the steaks (my ribeye was as tough as a sirloin and filled with gristle) however there was little to no seasoning and WAY too much happening on the plates. Advice to the chef who seems to have a decent understanding of food would be to tone it down a little and simplify your approach, there is far too much happening on each plate. Welcome was great, and room was amazing and very comfortable. Tables, glassware, cutlery and plates were of very nice quality and music level and temperature were great. Our initial round of aperetif cocktails were never cleared, however, and when we mentioned the steaks were of poor quality AND overcooked nothing was done with the bill in terms of rectifying. We are them because we had a later reservation (830) and did not want to wait to see if the chef would cook them properly (which should have been the case to begin with. We both ordered MR and bother were MW which tells me they don't know how to cook a proper steak). I wasn't looking for a free meal by any means, but as a chef and restaurant owner there are about a million different ways you could have offered an apology instead of charging full price. We have the service 2 stars, because after we gave the feedback on the steaks it seemed as though we were a nuisance and the quality of service quickly deteriorated which is both unprofessional and unacceptable. We have eaten many meals in Scotland while here visiting and would not return to this restaurant nor recommend it to anyone travelling. There are far better options at this price point.

Excellent food, beautiful restaurant.

Great place for dinner. The mussels were outstanding, spicy with a hint of ginger. Sea bass was great and my wife liked here curry chicken too. Cozy dining room and good service.

Very good food and interesting flavors. There was one small glitch front the kitchen that was corrected quickly. To me, that's a plus.

The duck dish reminded me of airplane food. The noodle had absolutely no flavor. I tried my husband’s steak and it was nothing special. The passion fruit crème brûlée tasted like they used artificial flavoring. Definitely not worth the money.

A great location along the River Ness. The food was delicious, and the waitresses were very friendly.

This was a disappointing experience for an 85th birthday celebration. Some of the food was very nice but other dishes were over cooked and not eaten. The service was slow and the waiter was not up to date with availability from the kitchen leading to a need to reorder for some. Contrast used to be an excellent place to eat, the setting and facilities have great potential so hopefully it will improve and be excellent again some day.

+ excellent food - my youngest ate very little and they could have offered to box/bag the food for him to take it with him. Otherwise good service. - fairly expensive

Michelin star worthy food. My respect to the kitchen that can send 5 starters and 3 main courses in 30 minutes with exceptional execution and plating. The service is possibly the best in Inverness. Amazing service, beautiful atmosphere. Thank you Jasmine and everyone who served us.

Unbelievable food served and tasted in this restaurant. A must to visit when in Inverness.

We were recommended Contrast by a friend and were not disappointed. The food was imaginative, well presented and tasty. We had the belly pork which was succulent and the crackling was crispy. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and a good variety.

6 in our party, Our server was terrific, perfect timing and helpfulness. The dining area was beautiful and elegant. 4 had seafood and 2 had chicken. The response to the seafood was more positive, but not effusive. The chicken was okay, slightly dry, the sauce saved the meal. Also ordered a baked Alaska, the meringue was soft and silky....very good, the ice cream was not good, it had the flavor of being old and re-frozen multiple of times (slightly icy).

My new favorite in Inverness. Appealing, relaxed environs on the river, warm service, and exceptional food. This is a vegan roll! Amazing.

Family meal , took the early evening option . Food good, one small gripe regarding this , please do not send out chips that have mould on them. My main gripe was the heat in the restaurant . It is no fun eating food when ( not often in Inv ) your wiping sweat from your face . All four of us said the same. A window was slightly open but there as no circulation . Note to Managers , when hot get some fans out of the cupboard and remove the cobwebs first .

The food is great, but the restaurant itself gets really hot and stuffy making it impossible to enjoy a meal. However would recommend the food and the service is quite good too.

Small romantic restaurant overlooking the river Ness. AMAZING FOOD!!! They have an early bird dinner special 2 course 18 pounds and 3 course for 21 pounds. Delicious complimentary starter bread served with 3 different toppings/dips on the side. We had the soup of the day- creamy leaks cream. One of us ordered the steak and the other the catch of the day. Both were AMAZING!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE BREAD PUDDING for the final course 👌. The lemon merengue is good too. Wish I could have shared pictures, but ate it before I even realized I hadn't shared with you. Great experience for the price. Dinner was amazing. Breakfast is a hit or miss- depending on what you order. Do not recommend the Scottish breakfast here. Breakfast is about 11 pounds- 6 different choices. Continental breakfast and drinks included for the price. Liquor sold separately.

My boyfriend took me here for my 20th birthday a few months ago and asked them to make it a little extra special for me to which when we arrived they reserved the best table in the room for us :) The food was beautifully presented and tasted quite nice. Lovely menu with many innovative options. Did feel a little underdressed there so make sure to suit up!

Why do they call it pan-asia , its not really . Vegetarians WILL struggle a great deal as there simply isn't much choice . Staff were excellent , food unfortunately dID not live up to the £159.00 we paid for 3 of us without drinks . The steaks were simple average .

Lovely funeral tea, great service, lovely staff

Staff are friendly, starters are very tasty and the mains were portioned well and delicious. The restaurant atmosphere was warm and dark, with soft oldies playing in the background. We had a very good time there and had some lovely cocktails at the Piano Bar next door after. All in all a great experience and value for money.

We had a fantastic night at Contrast and Glenmoriston for our annual friends' Christmas night out! We were a party of 13 so not the easiest to manage but Ben and his colleagues were excellent! They were very attentive throughout our meal and very accommodating throughout the night. The meal was fantastic, as were the many cocktails we had! We ended the night in the fabulous Piano Bar! We couldn't fault our night at all and would definitely recommend Contrast and Glenmoriston to others!

Nice surroundings and meat provenance for delicious steaks. Service a bit haphazard when our party of 7 was here. Eg Reminding of missing dishes and things not arriving together. Pricey and you have to choose large portion meat min £34 (I gave half of mine to a hungry friend at the table!) then the extra £3.50 per dish for each veg/ chips etc you want. For me, service lacklustre and not very good value (3*) but if you are super hungry, a bit flush, and meat is your thing then do try it!

Food was tasty,but portions are very small. Wine list was ok, but otherwise a cozy little place to have a snack. Service was very good.

Had the fish cake to start which was good. Had the beef pie for my main. For some reason, it got taken out about 10+ minutes after the other mains and sides that we ordered. This meant that by the time it was taken out my side was cold. The wasabi mash on the pie was delicious. I did find the filling too watery though and felt like I needed a spoon. The mash topping could have been browned, it more or less sunk into the filling.

Staff did a great job of catering for a large group of us, very attentive and happy to help. Thought the food was good for the price but a couple of little attention to detail things were lacking, chips were average, some bits a little underseasoned. Overall a nice evening out, would return!

Just watched the Gordon Ramsay episode 1. What happened to abstract? 2. Was the Edinburgh restaurant successful 3. What happened to the French Head Chef is he still around 4. Does the petite rich guy still own this restaurant?

Great restaurant and service! The Tomahawk was amazing, as well as the scallops and pork belly appetizer! Weren’t a huge fan of the soft shell crab one, but the halibut main was really well cooked:) too bad there was no cocktails but they have an extensive wine list!
