Heathmount Hotel & Restaurant in Highland

Went to the restaurant on Saturday night for a meal to celebrate my parents’ golden wedding anniversary. It was their suggestion as I don’t live locally any more, but they said they always have a good meal there. They weren’t wrong. Food was great, and so was the service, which really topped things off. Definitely recommend and thank you to the staff for making what was a low key celebration feel special, without even knowing about it!

Honestly can't say enough good things about this hotel and restaurant. The room, the staff, the food, and the location were all perfect. There's no lift, but we were offered some much appreciated help with our many bags.

Lovely food and staff are the best

Lovely loft room. Excellent sea kelp soap, etc. It was disappointing that check-in was supposed to be 2 pm, but the room wasn't ready until 230pm. Friendly breakfast staff and tasty breakfast, too.

My fiancé and I stayed here while traveling from the states and loved it! If you are ever in Inverness Scotland you MUST stay here. The rooms are modern and very comfortable. The food is delicious! We met the owner and she was both hospitable and welcoming! We can not wait to return there!

Nice enough place but the drinks are a bit dearer than other places

Strange entry. Check in at the bar. Noises from the restaurant and bar heard deep into the night. Parking is odd. But the room was nice enough.

Stayed here for a few nights whilst travelling, the location is great, the bed was so comfy in our room, but we were on the top floor, so your head height was restricted against the eaves. We didn't see anyone eating in the restaurant here, even though they said it was fully booked, so we ate out on both nights and had teo fantastic meals within a 10 minute walk. The staff was nice and friendly and the place was clean. The best thing about this place is it has free parking and is a stones throw from the centre of the city. I'd recommend it to anyone who visits inverness

Wow! Was just a one night stop over on our road trip (carpark was greatly appreciated), but I wish it was more! Quiet and cute area, modern but cozy, clean and spacious rooms. Didn't have breakfast but staff were very attentive and helpful. A 5-10 minute walk (downhill) into town, but that means you get a bit more space and peace. Very big, comfy bed. Spacious and modern bathroom. Weather was nice enough to open the windows and enjoy the sunset.

#RoadTripJ6 We had the opportunity to dine at the Heathmount Hotel restaurant and were very pleased with our experience. The food was delicious and the dishes were well presented. The service was efficient and the staff were friendly. The atmosphere was pleasant and friendly, which added to our enjoyment of the evening. Overall, it was a simple but very satisfying experience. We highly recommend the restaurant at the Heathmount Hotel for those looking for a delicious meal in a welcoming atmosphere.

Best meal I have had in Scotland. Fantastic service, really friendly staff, highly recommend. I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. Give it a go, you can't go wrong.

Absolutely brilliant place to stay. Great rooms, the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in for a great night of sleep. Great value for money and very friendly. I’d definitely stay again.

Went there alone in the evening. Amy went out of her way to the kitchen to ask the chef if I am good to have dinner. Red curry was ok, not my taste but not bad. Cocktails were fab. Good vibe. Staff are friendly and professional over all, but Amy is outstanding.

I've reviewed the Heathmount twice before, and sadly, this review is not as good. The quality of the food has dropped from classy restaurant to above average pub I'm afraid. Opted for a £28 steak and was presented with a medium-sized portion of meat, and what can only be described as mccain home oven chips and a couple of cherry tomatoes. Partner had a chicken dish, the vegetables appeared to be microwaved with limp long stem Broccoli. I am very disappointed compared with the menu that there used to be here. I wouldn't recommend based on what I saw this visit. A real shame.

We just had a 2 night break here on a Winter Warmer deal which proved to be excellent value for money. Our room was very spacious and finished to a very high standard with a huge, very comfortable bed and equally opulent, matching soft furnishings. The en-suite was also quite stunning, the shower, a dual head setup with large rainwater head and a standard detachable shower head was very powerful and supplied with plenty hot water. The entire hotel looks to have been recently refurbished to a high standard with excellent lounge area and restaurant. The food was first class and the staff were extremely pleasant and very helpful. I can’t praise the place and staff enough and would certainly be very happy to return in the future.

Stayed here for one night last weekend. Can't fault anything about the place. We had to delay our trip from February and they couldn't have been more helpful and obliging. Even upgraded our room. We got the sleeper train up there on Friday night and they kindly kept our bags safe on Saturday until our room was available in the afternoon and then again looked after them on Sunday until we got the train back that night. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the city centre and/or river so a great location. We just had breakfast there (which was spot on) but the food we saw others eating in the afternoon and evening also looked superb. Really nice bar which was busy but not too busy. Would definitely stay there again if we go back to Inverness.

Absolutely Loved Our recent stay at this Immaculate, Cosy, Stylish and Very Friendly Hotel. We along with our small dog were Warmly Welcomed after a very long drive from Liverpool. Our Room (No3) was ready and had the Wow Factor, we found it incredibly Snuggly, Warm, Cosy, Tasteful decor, very comfortable decent sized bed, Immaculately Clean, Very Quiet even tho by a road that was busy at times. Breakfast was lovely, I ordered the Vegetarian, plenty to keep you going for hours, including coffee, juices, toast - Perfect ! The staff were the friendliest we’ve met on our many travels, especially one of the Housekeepers who made a huge fuss of our dog Luna and the Chef that made Luna her own sausage for breakfast. Nothing was ever too much trouble - a huge Credit to the Owners / Management for their Happy Helpful Team. The Hotel is located in a lovely quieter part of Inverness but still just a very short and easy walk into a bustling but not over busy town centre while Our car enjoyed Free parking on the Hotel’s small Car Park directly outside. We cannot fault anything about this Hotel, we would happily stay over & again and recommend to everyone who is looking for a hotel with a 5* experience without a 5* price tag … Thank You for making our first adventure to Scotland memorable for All the Right reasons x

My wife and I stayed four nights to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. The hotel was excellent -the accommodation, the staff, the breakfast and restaurant food were all highly satisfactory and we would heartily recommend this hotel

Nice quiet place for dinner. Staff was friendly and prompt. Food was pretty good. All family members enjoyed their main course.

Really nice hotel. Conveniently situated with car park (although we walked here from the railway station). Lovely rooms and good bathroom with strong shower. Breakfast is excellent.

Extra, un restaurant en dehors de la masse touristique. De très bons plats, bien cuisinés copieux mais pas trop ce qui nous a laissé de la place pour leurs succulents desserts. Le personnel était très sympa. Nous avons directement réservé pour le lendemain.

Came back for dinner after returning to Inverness from Skye. Had the chicken and haggis from the specials menu. Not only was the meal delicious, the server's whisky recommendation paired with the meal perfectly. Wish I had gotten his name, as he remembered me from a stay the week before when I couldn't get to Orkney due to ferry issues. It meant a lot that he inquired about whether things had worked out on my trip. Five stars for the personal touch. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, a visit to the restaurant is well worth it.

Arrived to a warm welcome, taken to our table, specials advised then our drink order requested. We both had 3 courses and food was excellent. Staff were attentive during our meal and we left happy and full. Will definitely be back when we are back in Inverness

We stayed in room 4, it was large, beautifully decorated and so was the bathroom! We had a king and 2 singles. The breakfast was made to order and it was delicious!! Michelle and Maddy made our mornings better, with their smiles and terrific guidance and advice. We wish we could have stayed longer. We also had an incredible bartender who unfortunately finished his shift before we could get his name, he provided us with a map and many tips of things to see in Inverness. Our only negative point in our stay was that we arrived starving from a whole day tour at 8:15pm and the manager told the bartender we could not order food…

I was at the Heathmount for a work's nightout recently where we paid £40 a head for a 3 course Christmas Dinner. It was probably one of the worst meals I've ever had on a night out and everybody was equally disappointed. It was tasteless and reminded me of old school meals. There were far too many people crowded into the dining rooms and if you had the misfortune of needing the bathroom, then half a dozen people had to get up to let you squeeze out. We were next to a toilet and there was evidence of a nearby table sampling "charlie" in the bathroom which left our table in a horrible position. I would never go back to this hotel.

Aimee served us an lovely meal and drinks to celebrate the new jobs and homes in our group. Highly recommend!

Lovely, relaxed atmosphere, which was ideal for a group of five having a leisurely lunch and afternoon drinks. The staff were friendly and attentive and we particularly enjoyed the cocktails. Food is decent but I personally felt it was nothing special and I was slightly disappointed with the quantity provided for the price (I had vegetarian main, which consisted of a handful of salad leaves, three slices of halloumi cheese, two cherry tomatoes, three small squares of roasted pepper and a few pieces of roasted onion for £15); the food was tasty enough. Meat eaters might feel it's better value and my friends certainly enjoyed the special of beef olives. In summary, a nice place for a group to spend an afternoon, especially for those who like a variety of gins or a cocktail but food portion size at lunch (especially of veggie plates) would need be increased to tempt me back.

I have been going to the Heathmount for years. On this occasion the dessert was inedible and a disappointing end to a meal. The main was lovely. The lemon posset was like a ramekin of clotted cream with no real lemon flavour. I had one mouthful and left the rest. Normally I love here but this occasion was not great. However that being said. I do like the heathmount as a whole. I guess I was disappointed that the waiter didnt ask why I had left it barely touched but then again I should have said something but I didnt want to make a fuss as a friend was paying. Maybe next time they will do better as this time was average. All being said the heathmount is getting pretty pricey esp as a local.

Excellent modern accommodations. Centrally located. Great bar and restaurant. Terrific staff. We will be back again!

Lovely meal in a friendly and nicely done up restaurant and bar area. Lots of great choices and really quite reasonable prices. Staff were lovely and couldn’t be more helpful and my Cajun chicken salad was delicious. Would definitely come back.

Wonderful, charming little hotel not far from city center. Stayed in Room 1 which was well appointed with nice light and a great bathroom. Had dinner in restaurant and it was excellent. Breakfast was also generous and tasty. Highly recommend

3of us went for lunch here last week. The lunch menu was poor and we weren’t impressed with the food. My friend had macaroni cheese which he said tasted very bland. We won’t be back. I would suggest going to the Corriegarth next door as the food there is Devine with lunch time deals.

Born and bred in Inverness and can’t believe we’ve not eaten here before today! We both opted for the Sunday Roast which was beef today with all the trimmings. It was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The menu is extensive offering something for everyone. Enjoyed it that much we have booked for Boxing Day where they are offering 3 course lunch for £22....great value. In addition to the great food the service was excellent too. A lovely girl who was enthusiastic to please and look after you. A credit to the Heathmount. Forgot to take a pic of the main course but did photograph the delicious brownie complete with its Nessie Chocolate topping.

Visited here last night lovely atmosphere friendly staff nothing too much trouble. I am a very picky eater & vegetarian to boot. The best Macaroni Cheese I’ve had in a long time.

Had a lovely meal here on Friday, quite busy on entering , however efficient in taking the order and the food arriving at the table. Husband and father in law enjoyed their venison, mother in law had the chicken with pasta and I had the roast vegetable salad with chicken , all delicious ! Deserts were very tasty too . For our trip to Inverness, we were staying at a bed and breakfast up on the hill, away from town.

Were staying nearby and found here on tripadvisor, we called and they had space for us . A lovely small restaurant with an extensive Gin menu, i couldn't decide what one to have. The food was delicious at a good price, the staff were lovely and friendly, they had a big group in the back room but this didn't hamer the service.

Nos alojamos aquí dos noches durante un viaje de 2 semanas por Escocia y quedé muy satisfecho con lo agradable que era el hotel. Las habitaciones estaban limpias y tranquilas, a pesar de estar al lado de la carretera y tener el restaurante en la planta baja. Todo el personal era muy amable y el restaurante tenía muchos artículos para elegir, incluso para nosotros comedores vegetarianos. El único inconveniente es el estacionamiento limitado, pero la ubicación, a 5 minutos a pie del centro, sin duda lo compensó. Me quedaré aquí de nuevo cuando en Inverness!

We only stopped in for a drink, but the meals looked great. There were a few other patrons around us that had ordered meals and all looked good. Service was good, and the range of drinks was just what you would expect.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Heathmount Restaurant. The food was excellent, as was the service. I had the salmon dish, which was prepared with the most delicious, light sauce. Highly recommend!!

I had been given a voucher for The Heathmount as a present so decided to use it for a meal out. The evening was warm so a pre dinner drink out on the patio area was in order. Very pleasant surroundings in and out with very good staff. We had starters of of salmon fish cakes and mozzarella and tomatoes, main course of lamb shank and chicken stuffed with haggis. Both came with mash and a selection of veg. Dessert was sorbet and banana Eton mess. All dishes were superb well prepared and presented. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

La primera noche en Inverness, tomamos unos cócteles y un sándwich en el patio. Tienen una impresionante selección de gins escocés! El personal muy agradable Después de la noche, cenamos en el restaurante - excelente. Lejos superó nuestras expectativas. Estuvimos muy contentos con cada plato desde sopa hasta postre.

Ett bemötande utöver det vanliga från personalen gör en glad resten av dagen. Fräscha välstädade rum med bra wi-fi.

Tuve el pan de ajo y vientre de cerdo y las raciones eran enormes. El corte de ajo fue de 4 rebanadas y tuve el tamaño de inicio de la barriga de cerdo y eso fue suficiente para mí. El servicio estuvo bien, ya que tuve que avisar a otro camarero para que me ayudara, ya que el mío generalmente no estaba presente.

A solo quince minutos a pie de nuestro hotel, esto fue recomendado por el personal. Lugar agradable y buen servicio con buena comida. Aunque no es realmente viejo, cálido o único. Básicamente una cena que estuvo bien. Ojalá nos hubiéramos ido a un viejo pub en el centro de la ciudad.

Inverness es una zona turística y el servicio refleja eso, simplemente no hace hincapié en el servicio al cliente. Nos alojamos en un be & be cercano y esto parecía una buena opción de pub / restaurante. La comida era sólo promedio, por desgracia.

No estoy seguro si la hospitalidad aquí es estándar en Escocia, pero sí supera a lo que estamos acostumbrados. Cada centímetro del bar / restaurante y las habitaciones están meticulosamente bien mantenidos y limpios. Amable, servicial y amable son subestimaciones! Cada miembro del personal con el que hemos tenido contacto ha ido más allá. Gracias por ayudarnos a hacer nuestro viaje a Escocia aún más increíble.

Table for 4 for our daughters 40th birthday. First visit and will certainly be back next time in Inverness. Lovely decor...friendly staff...excellent freshly cooked food...just a shame we were too full for sweets. Have already recommended to family and friends

We recently ate at the Heathmount Hotel for lunch and can not recommend it enough. The food was delicious, generous portions and well presented. All fresh and well prepared. The flavours were incredible. The staff were attentive and the coffee was so good we had two! Great place for food, a drink and a good atmosphere.

Si bien hemos visitado con frecuencia bebidas en Inverness durante unos 30 años, la gente nunca lo mencionaría por la comida y si no considera visitarla, se la está perdiendo. Aunque el 2 de nosotros solo tenía un plato principal, la comida estaba excelentemente presentada, cocinada a la perfección y, lo que es más importante, sabía muy bien y, para ser sincero, era de un estándar que cabría esperar en un excelente restaurante. ¡El venado fue uno de los mejores platos que he tenido en mucho tiempo! ! Continuará regresando en los próximos años.

We had 2 very nice dinners in this restaurant while we where in Inverness. The portions are a bit smaller than in other places, but for our European stomachs, it was just as it should be.

Vi kom till Inverness och skulle äta på Fig & Thistle, men väl där var restaurangen stängd trots annan information på nätet. Vi gick sakta tillbaka mot The Gatehouse där vi övernattade och bestämde oss för att slinka in på Heathmount. Vi möttes av trevlig, ung personal, fick snabb service och serverades riktigt god mat till väldigt skäliga priser. Dessutom fräscha lokaler, vilket ibland kan vara svårt att uppnå i städer med äldre bebyggelse. Gå gärna hit om ni är i Inverness någon gång!

Nice place very accommodating staff. We had gin cocktails & very nice salmon & mussels. Try the Harris Gin from Skye. The place has a nice modern vibe with high top tables. No late night dinning get there before 9:00 pm. We did not stay here but met someone who always does and loves it & the location is walkable to all the whiskey bars and restaurants in town.

Had a nice dinner at the Heathmount. The food was good and reasonably priced. Steak and ale pie and a Scottish sirloin were presented nicely. I did find the service to be very spotty though, even with the restaurant half full. All told it was a good overall experience and I would not hesitate to return.

This clean, modern pub was just down the street from my guest house - and a perfect place to enjoy a late dinner when I was exhausted from travel. It was my first night in Scotland so I decided to try a salmon salad. It was better than I could have imagined - a combination of warm potatoes, greens and mouth-watering fish. A Sauvignon Blanc topped it off. Service was inattentive, but they were busy and I got what I needed. It was a charming atmosphere.

This hotel has a decent bistro/restaurant attached to it which serves quite decent meals at average prices. Quite a reasonable drinks list.The staff were attentive without being obtrusive. The bar was crowded and very noisy due to a World Cup football match.

Visited here with 5 friends for food. The service was awful, the lad didn’t take our order down on a pad, not surprisingly he forgot to put a couple of the starters and sides through. Just a simple apology and update to what had happened would be fine but Sorry isn’t part of their vocabulary clearly. If we are selling the Highland welcome to tourists, don’t send them here. Not one of the staff cracked a smile, they looked miserable. Really shame, I used to really enjoy going to the Heathmount but something has changed for the bad. Couldn’t fault the food, it was really good. Maybe time to change the menu?

This restaurant is in a hotel, but it has the feel of a local pub. Many people were there to watch soccer when we visited. Food was fresh and tasty. Not a huge menu, but most should find a meal that satisfies.

My husband and I stayed at the Heathmount for four days in May. Our room/bathroom was attractive, comfortable, and spacious, and we liked being in a small hotel. The bar and restaurant, obviously popular with both the locals, has an informal, comfortable atmosphere, and the staff was nice and helpful. Both the included breakfast and the lunch, bar, and dinner offerings were good. We had several drinks and meals there, and enjoyed all of them.

My husband and I dropped by for dinner tonight. I had the seafood appetizer and the chicken main, both were excellent. My husband had the shrimp starter and the salmon main and he enjoyed his meal. Service was friendly and prompt. Nice dinner!

Nice surroundings and staff pleasant. Food not great however. Ordered nachos and essentially a large bowl of crisps served. Found small amount plastic cheese hidden within the dish along with few jalapeños at the bottom. Small amount salsa onto with a dollop of sour cream....
