Heard there was a new team at the Plough, so went for lunch. I ordered 3 small plates for £15-- tempura prawns, salt & pepper chicken & chicken liver pate. They were all delicious, couldn't fault any of them, very filling too. Will definitely be going again.

We decided to pop in for Tuesday night burgers. We were given a very warm welcome by the staff and offered our choice of tables. The staff were extremely polite and nothing was too much trouble. Our food arrived, and wow what a fantastic feast. Probably the best burger I’ve ever had. We will definitely we back to try out fish Friday in a few weeks. Highly recommended.

Visited on Sunday the 18/08/2024 at about 4.30 pm,me and my wife had our grandson ,who is 1 with us.On pulling into the car park we could see that the place was very quiet, only 1 couple in ,when we walked in.I asked if they were still serving food ,and yes they were ,we were seated accordingly in the bar area.I then asked a young man for a high chair ,of which he brought across to us,it was the white plastic type ,with straps ,and was absolutely filthy, not just on top of the tray ,but all the straps had dried food on them ,and the plastic connector was full of dried food .I asked the young lad if he could clean this chair ,and he took it out of our view to clean it .Both me and my wife and grandson were waiting at least 15 minutes for the chair to come back ,it was still filthy,we popped our grandson in,and then proceeded to wipe it down again with baby wipes ,it was minging .We then ordered a couple of drinks ,and then ordered the beef Sunday roast ,and the gammon Sunday roast ,priced at £16.95 each ,and a child’s spaghetti bolognaise at £5.95,after a very long wait of at least 25 minutes ,the Sunday roasts finally arrived ,my wife’s beef ,and my gammon,to say I was absolutely disappointed with my gammon roast ,is an understatement. How can 2 roasts be completely different,if you take the meat off both ,the potatoes ,carrots, broccoli ,mash, should be exactly the same portion sizes, alas not ,I had 2 of the smallest roasted potatoes ,known to man ,a tiny sprig of broccoli,a tiny spoonful of carrot , and mash, and the smallest slither of gammon you’ve ever seen(1 piece, about 3inch long by 3 inch across) very ,very fatty ,and well undercooked .My wife had 2 large slices of beef,3 large roast potatoes ,a large helping of mashed carrots,a large head of broccoli.and a large spoonful of mash.Totally different vegetable portion size to mine, both me and my wife thought it was the small portion at £12-95 .My grandson’s bolognaise arrived ,which looked fine,I then asked for English mustard ,horseradish ,and mint sauce ,again took an age to come.I then asked for the manager to come across ,and then asked ,would she pay £16.95 for that dish of mine,She agreed to a fashion that it wasnt right ,and said I should of had 2 pieces of gammon ,and couldn’t understand why the chef had only put one miesley piece on,I then said that the plates portions ,should be exactly the same ,minus the meats, she couldn’t grasp it .i then asked my wife if she was happy to carry on with her food ,of which she said yes ,I then asked Jennifer to take mine away ,I was disgusted with the service ,and attitude of Jennifer the manager ,who was huffing and puffing about it .The pub was empty ,there shouldn’t have been these issues,I now know why it was empty ,we will never visit the plough at eaves ever again, and warn other customers to be aware .

Decided to eat out last minute. Asked a friend who dines out regularly, to recommend somewhere. The Plough at Eaves was first choice for local pub food. booking was easy, via the online system and they were ready for us when we arrived. We seated in the very pleasant rustic dinning room by the welcoming, friendly staff. Our 'Fish Friday' offer of fish and chips with a bottle of wine was excellent quality food and good wine, only to be expected for such a great offer. We discussed the gluten free options with Jennifer, the assistant manager, as they are looking to improve their gluten free menu. The Plough at Eaves may now be our first choice for great pub food.

Lovely traditional country pub in the middle.of nowhere. Very warm welcome by the locals and the young man serving, slightly frosty young blonde lady serving though. We used to come here a lot pre-covid, as the previous owners served brilliant food, then sadly it closed. The new'ish Tenents are trying to make a come back. Outside and inside tidiness and ceanliness is lacking though and this needs addressing, ivy growing in through the fireplace window with cobwebs, dust on chair legs, sticky topped tables, guys this seriously needs addressing. I'm from the industry and have done many a hotel inspection. Our meal was so so. The mixed grills gammon and steak was a bit stingie, and although my other half is wierd and likes well done meat, said it was all lacking in seasoning, and was tough, chicken is very bland anyway so they need perhaps to baste it in say butter/garlic butter perhaps, but in fairness two sauces were available but the other half didnt like either. My rump steak salad was very nice, a little bit more Stilton next time please! The young men serving were excellent, checking in on us at the right stages, not overly done. Really nice wine, Malbec. We will visit again, as we do lile it here, but the place needs some TLC. If they tried harder to perfect the meals and the cleaning, this place should be a little goldmine. Hats off to them for trying.

Meanwhile I tried to book using the on-line booking service, submitted my request, and 24 hours later still not had a response. Whats going on? Not exactly confidence inspiring, is it. My friend and I visited for a meal on a busy xmas Saturday night last weekend and although we had pre-booked there was a mix up and we weren't in the system. After sorting us a spot in the restaurant the manager (Michael) went above and beyond to look after us and we had a lovely meal and a great night. Even though they were busy he went out of his way to ensure we got what we wanted from the menu. All our food was hot and delicious, and the chef made me a fresh gluten free meal which was much appreciated (lamb shank - very yummy!). We will definitely be back and again thanks to Michael and the team for looking after us :)

Decorated to a high standard, it's a shame I can't say the same about the food, the quality of ingredients are poor, Aldi style burger bun, if you placed them together you'd never know which one was which. Frozen skin on fries. Flatbread pizza was doughy and undercooked, the starters wasn't too bad at all, we quite enjoyed them, this is our second time dining at The Plough At Eaves, but unfortunately will not be returning for a third time, there is better choices in the surrounding areas.

Called in early evening for a meal with my two teen children. Bar maids were lovely and friendly apologised as we had to wait half an hour for the chef to arrive before food started but it wasn’t a problem at all. Lovely and clean quaint old pub. Food arrived in super fast time once chef arrived (he wasn’t late he had something on at his other pub). We were told of a brilliant offer on the grill menu of £29 for two meals which included fillet steak, hanging kebabs and lamb chops. Unfortunately my children wanted meals from the main menu and so I chose the steak and ale pie. My goodness it was jam packed with the softest braised steak not an ounce of fat in the richest delicious gravy and a light crumbly pastry. Honestly the most delicious Steak and ale pie I have ever had. Even driving home when I was full to the brim when I spoke about it my mouth watered! My son had the chicken a la creme with rice and tender stem broccoli which he wolfed down and said it was delicious and my daughter who is a teenager and picks at her food generally seemed to inhale her fish and chips! You could see how fresh the batter and fish were. The portions were huge I am still full now some three and half hours later. Could not fault this little gem of a pub. Have already told my husband we will be returning for Sunday lunch. Thanks to all of the staff at the plough we really enjoyed our impromptu meal.

Nice setting. Plesant staff and good service. Really pleased this pub has reopened. It was busy, especially when the weather is nice and sunny. Food was ok but not brilliant. We had a selection of small plates. Tempura prawns had way too much heavy batter. Not tempura style at all. Mushrooms and chorizo tasty but certainly not creamy! Chips were really great though! Desserts are not worth bothering with. Had Eton mess not sure what it was but it certainly wasn't Eton Mess. Jam mixed with custard maybe? Far too sweet and one limp strawberry on top. Didn't eat much of it.

7 of us here for dinner and a variety of dishes chosen. Pies very well thought of, starter soup (parsnip & ginger) excellent. However, let down by vegetables. Sprouts over-cooked, mashed potato forgettable/ordinary, roast potatoes worst i've had in a long time (really horrible) but carrot & swede mash was good. Not the biggest portions ever seen but enough. Xmas pudding was notably small. Choice of beers not the widest either. Overall good but definitely lots to improve on. Very popular with older people - hardly any young people in the place except for staff - probably due to prices which are very good (low). Would be 3 'stars' rating but prices merit 4.

first and last time at this nice looking country pub, had the mixed grill £14.95 each, when it arrived it looked like the dogs dinner, small plate with everything thrown on to it, no presentation what's so ever, the meat was very bland will not be visiting again, shame because the pub itself was in a nice location we went on trip advisors recommendation took a lot of the meat home for the dog, she enjoyed it most expensive meal she's had.

Such a lovely place for a spontaneous dinner out. Lovely friendly staff who are very attentive. The food is excellent, the quality and portion sizes are perfect. Home made curry came with naan and poppadam Specials are on a blackboard which they bring to your table. Traditional desserts are to die for. Sticky toffee pudding, pavlovas and chocolate brownies.

Visited here as it was recommended to us by other members of our family and it was really nice and we really enjoyed the food and service. We particularly liked how quiet the restaurant was as it is in a rural area and is quite far out from Preston which made the visit quite peaceful and relaxing. The food was very nice and good service, would definitely recommend as it was very nice and we will return here in the future.

Called in for lunch, first visit in many years. Friendly welcome, good choice of draught beers. Comprehensive menu plus specials board. I chose a hot roast beef sandwich, It came with succulent beef and onions with gravy, plenty of good chips and salad - a full meal! Assorted places to sit, good atmosphere.

Food ok. Bar man should find a job that dosent involve customer service. Bad language at the bar made me feel very uncomfortable. Won't go again.

I work here as the Chef. Amazing food choices which are delivered daily and kept fresh for service. With a small team as BOH, working at all hours of the day to prepare and cook your delicious food. The best part about being a chef is dinner time and I can cook my own food. Also with a discount!

I've been here a couple of times recently and have been very pleasantly surprised. The staff are lovely and took good care to ensure the order was right. The chicken salad was super- fresh and tasty! If they had coca cola rather then Pepsi it would be even better 😉

Visited on a Saturday night with a large group of family. Staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. Menu is extensive with lots of choices for all dietary requirements. 3 of us had the vegan mushroom and ale pie and it was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend and would go back and order it again. Fantastic! Compliments to the chef!

Not a fan of bottomless brunches in general, only went for my daughter’s birthday. The food was so horrid it was actually amusing, I thought it was our complimentary starting platter , not a main meal to share with 6 of us 😂 chips, spring rolls and small pieces of chicken that looked and tasted like icelands’ finest. If you’re going for the food don’t bother 😂 The drinks, atmosphere and service top notch though, the bingo is good fun, time flew by. You get your monies worth with the drinks alone, glasses were never empty. Up the food quality and portions and this place will do well.
