Great place for a relaxed meal. We dropped in for dinner and had a great evening. Good service, good beer and good food. No complaints from me.

The Pickled Ploughman would like to be the food pub in Adderbury, and has a very nice dining room/area, and old fashioned bar area. Hooky beer, and well kept. TT Landlord was on as well. Nathalie and Brett Botha running it now after a period of financial instability. On the Tuesday evening, I had Duck breast with Dauphinoise potatoes and five spice jus (£23), and small plates of Smoked Salmon and Chicken Gujons (£8-9 each) with chili sauce on the friday. The duck breast was beautiful and high quality duck. Very good Dauphinoise. The Salmon and Gujons were equally top class, although some might say the Salmon was a mild cure. It was good though. The one problem with the PP is that they do not have Chocolate Ice Cream, and I told them that if they want families in on Sundays, for example, they need chocolate Ice Cream! A very pleasant place to drink and eat, and they let me set up and work at my computer when I had to. Do I recommend The Pickled Ploughman? Certainly, and I hope to visit and eat and drink there at some time in the future. I hope to try their sunday lunch sometime. They did give me good Vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce, but Chocolate Ice cream please! Artisan if necessary!

Roast dinner was perfect could not fault anything I would recommend the pigs in blankets perfect. Nice variety of desserts. We had booked a party of 9 ( inc 3 children) for a Mothering Sunday family lunch . The Pickled Ploughman turned out to be an excellent choice in all respects - a warm welcome , a great selection of drinks and a superb Sunday menu which catered for all tastes and appetites . A young crew serving were on the ball and attentive throughout . A fabulous lunch was enjoyed by all - thank you !

We rang after a morning shopping in Banbury and were offered a table for three. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by very attentive staff. What a fantastic meal, my daughter and I chose the Roast Pork, my husband the Beef. WOW! What can I say, everything was piping hot on a hot plate, beautifully cooked and all wonderfully fresh. This is a regular 'half way point' meet up for my family. The food is really excellent and the service matches the food. We are always able to enjoy an unhurried family get together. nice fire roaring away always adds a welcome touch. I would absolutely recommend the Pickled Ploughman Pub. There is a nice little outdoor area for summer lunches.

Was visiting friends this weekend and we stopped in for some lunch last minute. Thankfully got a table as it was a busy Sunday. We had a mix of dishes - steak burger, fish and chips and cauliflower croquettes to fit various levels of hunger! My friend who is GF was so happy to see so many options, including fish & chips. We didn't have a roast but saw them go past and I'm definitely going back for one! They looked delicious. The food was excellent, service friendly and impeccable and I really couldn't fault it. Great to see South African Malva pud on the dessert too, yummy. Hats off to the team at The Pickled Ploughman!

The drinks a came halfway through the main course, I couldn't cut the meat let alone chew it. The meals went cold before you could finish them, the vegetables were 5 green Beans 2 slices of carrot and 3 small potatoes. The puddings were good, but the bill was wrong, and to top it all the woman 2 tables away let her dog piss all over the floor. One doorstep I won't be darkening again.

2 of us went there for lunch today and asked to be sat somewhere warm. I froze to death the whole time. We have always been complimentary about the new ownership but it was 2 degrees outside and not much more inside. You have to warm your place up.

Popped in mid afternoon, weekday for a hot drink, and had a pudding! Lovely food. Sat in bar by fire with the dogs. Very quiet.

We went at 12 noon for Sunday Roast, choosing the beef and the chicken. It could not be faulted!! I can only comment about the beef, which was perfectly cooked and very tender, with only a 10p size piece of fat which I had to leave . . so pleasing, but unusual. The roast potatoes were as my mother made them, the Yorkshires (I paid for an extra) superb, and the vegetable portions just the right size. So often you get drowned in veggies and much then gets returned to the bin. No wastage here!! On the recommendation of Kayla, I tried the Malva pudding. Anyone who describes it like Sticky Toffee pudding is incorrect. It's light and fluffy, and although it has a caramel sauce, it's not sickly sweet and cloying as Sticky Toffee. The prices are a little high, but the quality of both the food and the service are worth it. Kayla, our waitress, was helpful, friendly and fun, who made time to have a brief chat with us despite being busy. We felt cared for while we were there. In addition, during our meal, Brett came through the restaurant and had a few words at each table, inquiring if everything was good. Only one more comment which I refuse to call a negative. Sunday was the coldest day of the season so far, and it was raining. The restaurant did feel a little chilly, but I have no doubt that will be rectified now that the cold weather seems to be staying around. Maybe I will need to go and check on another Sunday . . . ;)

I live in the village and come quite a few times from coming back from uni. The food is amazing and good quality, the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming always. The pub is beautiful inside and out and I always know whenever I come I get delicious food and service. Will always return and recommend this to anyone who lives in Adderbury or is passing by. 10/10 !!!

My stepmother and I had a wonderful lunch in this friendly pub – our first visit since it had reopened after refurbishment. We were not disappointed! The food was excellent (duck breast for my stepmother and sweet potato, tomato and apricot tagine with couscous for me, followed by the most delicious Eton Mess I think I’ve ever tasted) and the service was friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be back!

We had to cancel a lunch here because our daughter was isolating. We decided to have an evening takeaway instead, and it was fantastic! Particularly wanted to give a shout-out to the gluten-free bread, which my husband had with his smoked salmon starter and his mussels main (“the best mussels I’ve had for years”) - it was so good, a rarity in our experience! We enjoyed a family lunch time meal with two of the party having the beefburgers and I had the loin of Hake with shellfish sauce.The burgers were declared delicious and certainly worth the title of best in Banburyshire and the chips were fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside. My Hake was perfectly cooked and was served with a very tasty shellfish sauce perfectly complimented by the citrus crumb and salty samphire.The portions of all three meals were generous and the recommended New Zealand Sauvingon blanc was a lovely glass of wine which went very well with my fish.Thank you Pickled Ploughman

We had a very pleasant meal here and were made to feel very welcome by the lovely staff. The loin of hake with shellfish sauce was delicious as was the mushroom stroganoff, scallops and steak. Look forward to visiting again!

Really lovely pub. Have visited twice during the various stages of lockdown and enjoyed both times.Easy to park and sanitiser on entry/exit. Staff are sooo friendly and attentive, I love the vibrant shirts. Pricing is good (3 courses for less than 22 quid is fab!). Food is nice, plenty of it and good add ons such a cauliflower cheese - yum! We will visit again soon; it's always a pleasure!

We came here from Worcestershire to meet up with a friend from Surrey. The management followed all the Covid rules. I am bored with them but if it matters to you I think you should feel safe enough here.The first thing I noticed on arrival was that when you walked through the front door the toilets were to your right with the doors wide open. Not exactly the welcome I would have hoped for! The ladies' loo was entitled Ladies' laves and the mens' was described as the Bog. I did smile but would have preferred the conveniences to be out of sight.It is some weeks since our visit. I remember the waiter got my friend's wine order wrong but brought the correct wine straight away. I hope the wrong order was not poured down the sink because that would have been a waste of good wine!I ate a few of my other friend's chips and they were excellent. I do not remember what I had to eat. My friend who drove me to this venue had already driven from Wolverhampton. To be honest this pub was not worth the journey. It was good enough. I would come again if others wanted to come here again but would not choose it for myself.

Really enjoyed our visit the other evening. Great selection of beers and gins available. Staff were very helpful and personable, and the interior gives a relaxed atmosphere, complete with quirky little touches which made the place more homely.. I had the figs and the hake loin, my partner ate the salmon starter and the brie wellington. We were impressed with the presentation and great taste of each dish and, all in all, felt it was good value for money. Starters were fine, but 3 of 4 main curses weren't cooked as requested. 2x lamb chops were dry and tough (one couldn't be eaten) and the medium rare steak was well done. The waiting staff were good about it, said it would be fed back to the kitchen and the chop was removed from the bill. Expected more from the local advertising.

My partner and I are lunch here alfresco , mid week in June. The burger was absolutely superb and my partner's scampi was equally good. Their chips are fluffy and crisp and the sides are excellent. There was a good selection of wines by the glass and their selection of beers was good too. Service was excellent and we will be back to try three courses one evening for sure.

We had a gift voucher from work, booking was simple using the online booking system, plenty of hand sanitizer upon entry.Staff very freindly and welcoming, pub was very clean and inviting. Food was quick and was good quality i wasnt overwhelmed by the quality but i also wasnt disappointed and would be happy to eat again. I could see a lot of satisfied customers whilst we were there and previous reviews speak for themselves.Once we finished our meal we asked to be seated outside as it was a warm Evening and this was not a problem for the stafff at all, whilst outside the service was still great.I would recommed trying the place out it was great to be able to eat a meal inside after all this time. What an amazing job the team at this pub have done at making alfresco dinning with the Great British weather and COVID restrictions! A genuinely beautiful arrangement with little touches like blankets on the seats made it feel like a special experience. The menu was great, with a good variety to choose from.
