Wanted a local Sunday lunch. Walked in without a booking. Luckily got the last table. Everyone was so welcoming and the lunch was delicious. Service was excellent. Will remember that booking is advisable. 100% Recomended

Went there yesterday with a mate to meet up with another old mate. It's certainly a well run pub/restaurant, pricey with Timothy Taylor Landlord at six quid a pint but the beer was in good condition and the ham, egg and chips I had was superb, probably the best chips I have ever tasted. I would go there again.

The Pickled Ploughman is a charming place to eat. The establishment is dog friendly and the decor is beautiful. My family and I stopped by for the fish and chips and were so pleased with our meals that we ordered dessert. The fish was fresh and hot. The breading was crispy and perfect. The chips were well seasoned and very generous. We had sticky toffee pudding and apple crumble (which were excellent as well.) I want to add the waitress was lovely and very helpful. We will be dining here again, and recommend it to anyone passing through.

Lovely meal at this well-kept country pub. We had four young children with us and the staff were helpful and accommodating. Food was great with a good range of kids options and dietary choices. Brilliant food service and staff

Had the most amazing Sunday roast last week and were still talking about how yummy it was 4 days later! Plenty of fresh veg, beautiful beef and roast potatoes were so yummy. Amazing attentive staff and your not rushed over your dinner, take your time, enjoy the food and best of all we were able to take our four legged friends. Thank you so much and would highly recommend.

We needed a place to hold a wake for my mum and Brett and Natalie could not have dealt with the whole situation better. They were very sensitive and accommodating at a very difficult time. Their recommendations for how they would set out the space in the garden and the food were spot on. On the day everything ran smoothly and both the savoury and sweet buffet were excellent. We have previously eaten here for lunches, celebrations, evening meals tried again today under the new management and was extremely disappointed food was inferior, no interest when commented on it being not as nice ... no bread rolls/Brown bread when requested(surely basics) Very underwhelmed won't be returning...

The food was really nice and we loved coming here until the new ownership took over. The food has become so basic and poor quality for the same price. We ordered a starter of buttered sourdough and it was day old bread and the butter was straight out the fridge. The options on the menu were basic and expensive compared to what they were. We ordered the sirloin steak, roasted duck and a cheese burger while the food was fine it was definitely not value for money. However the staff were friendly and attentive but the music didn't match the atmosphere.

The Pickled Ploughman Adderbury! - New ownership Wow visited this evening and hands down this is a great pub to visit, the food was excellent along with the service and cleanliness. Certainly will be visiting sooner rather than later!

What used to be my favourite pub in the area for food is no more☹️. The last time I visited was probably a year or two ago, they had the best menu and best quality dishes, I’d always go for a roast and they had a great burger. I think new people run the show now. Now the menu is incredibly basic with an okay roast. Still, this is a great place to go for a drink when it’s sunny as the seating area outside is very nice.

Stopped by on a Sunday lunchtime without reservation. Despite clearly being very busy, they could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Service was brilliant throughout our visit, food was delicious and didn't even have to wait long. Lovely place, would definitely recommend

My wife & I visited the Pickled Ploughman twice in the last week, whilst we were on holiday in Adderbury. We loved it! Brett & Natalie run an excellent pub. They are most welcoming, serve a great range of quality food and drink, & have friendly attentive staff. This is a gem! Nice to have met you.

We booked the pub to hold a family meal after my mums funeral and so glad that we picked this venue. From very first contact with Natalie I knew we had made the right choice, they were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. On the day was fantastic they made everyone feel very welcome and relaxed. The attention to detail from setting the tables to making sure everyone was catered for was second to none. The food was amazing and everyone said how lovely it was from the way it tasted to presentation. The staff were also very pleasant and you could tell that they enjoyed working there and took pride in what they do. I would highly recommend Natalie and Bret and The Pickled Ploughman and we will be returning in the future.

Visited here for a business lunch... It's a lovely building with a great decor. The food was excellent... Especially the exceedingly chunky chips... The staff were very friendly and helpful

Fitted us in last minute (large table of 9 people) They were brilliant. Fast, attentive service and lovely food. We were in our own room and had a lovely Sunday meal. The mushroom and spinach wellington was very tasty.

Nice food in a nice pub. One of the more pricey places we visited on our visit to the area. Food was nice and well cooked and presented. The prices were a little on the high side but to be expected and the menu didn't really have a great deal of choice. Would we visit again? Yes, for a drink but we'd probably go elsewhere for food due to the higher prices.

Absolutely exceptional food and service. Came for Sunday lunch on a bank holiday weekend, the team were very accommodating to fit us in last minute and the food was spectacular. Thoroughly enjoyed and will be back again.

Phenomenal Sunday roast, great ambience, and friendly staff. In the trio of meat the beef was the best, then pork, then chicken. Although all were fantastic. The pork came with a PHENOMENAL crackling.

The Pickled Ploughman would like to be the food pub in Adderbury, and has a very nice dining room/area, and old fashioned bar area. Hooky beer, and well kept. TT Landlord was on as well. Nathalie and Brett Botha running it now after a period of financial instability. On the Tuesday evening, I had Duck breast with Dauphinoise potatoes and five spice jus (£23), and small plates of Smoked Salmon and Chicken Gujons (£8-9 each) with chili sauce on the friday. The duck breast was beautiful and high quality duck. Very good Dauphinoise. The Salmon and Gujons were equally top class, although some might say the Salmon was a mild cure. It was good though. The one problem with the PP is that they do not have Chocolate Ice Cream, and I told them that if they want families in on Sundays, for example, they need chocolate Ice Cream! A very pleasant place to drink and eat, and they let me set up and work at my computer when I had to. Do I recommend The Pickled Ploughman? Certainly, and I hope to visit and eat and drink there at some time in the future. I hope to try their sunday lunch sometime. They did give me good Vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce, but Chocolate Ice cream please! Artisan if necessary!

We had booked a party of 9 ( inc 3 children) for a Mothering Sunday family lunch . The Pickled Ploughman turned out to be an excellent choice in all respects - a warm welcome , a great selection of drinks and a superb Sunday menu which catered for all tastes and appetites . A young crew serving were on the ball and attentive throughout . A fabulous lunch was enjoyed by all - thank you !

What a wonderful place. Lovely atmosphere warm welcome. Very attentive server . Lovely touch with a Mother’s Day gift bag, a very nice gesture. Roast dinner was perfect could not fault anything I would recommend the pigs in blankets perfect. Nice variety of desserts. We rang after a morning shopping in Banbury and were offered a table for three. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by very attentive staff. What a fantastic meal, my daughter and I chose the Roast Pork, my husband the Beef. WOW! What can I say, everything was piping hot on a hot plate, beautifully cooked and all wonderfully fresh. This is a regular 'half way point' meet up for my family. The food is really excellent and the service matches the food. We are always able to enjoy an unhurried family get together. nice fire roaring away always adds a welcome touch. I would absolutely recommend the Pickled Ploughman Pub. There is a nice little outdoor area for summer lunches.

Was visiting friends this weekend and we stopped in for some lunch last minute. Thankfully got a table as it was a busy Sunday. We had a mix of dishes - steak burger, fish and chips and cauliflower croquettes to fit various levels of hunger! My friend who is GF was so happy to see so many options, including fish & chips. We didn't have a roast but saw them go past and I'm definitely going back for one! They looked delicious. The food was excellent, service friendly and impeccable and I really couldn't fault it. Great to see South African Malva pud on the dessert too, yummy. Hats off to the team at The Pickled Ploughman!

Popped in last night for a drink, ended up staying longer. Great setting, friendly owners and staff, looking forward to coming back to try out the food.

The drinks a came halfway through the main course, I couldn't cut the meat let alone chew it. The meals went cold before you could finish them, the vegetables were 5 green Beans 2 slices of carrot and 3 small potatoes. The puddings were good, but the bill was wrong, and to top it all the woman 2 tables away let her dog piss all over the floor. One doorstep I won't be darkening again.

2 of us went there for lunch today and asked to be sat somewhere warm. I froze to death the whole time. We have always been complimentary about the new ownership but it was 2 degrees outside and not much more inside. You have to warm your place up.

Thank you, Brett, Natalie, Kayla, Jordyn and the rest of your team for a marvellous Christmas Day Lunch. The food was superb and the atmosphere was wonderful. We will be back next year.

Popped in mid afternoon, weekday for a hot drink, and had a pudding! Lovely food. Sat in bar by fire with the dogs. Very quiet.

We went at 12 noon for Sunday Roast, choosing the beef and the chicken. It could not be faulted!! I can only comment about the beef, which was perfectly cooked and very tender, with only a 10p size piece of fat which I had to leave . . so pleasing, but unusual. The roast potatoes were as my mother made them, the Yorkshires (I paid for an extra) superb, and the vegetable portions just the right size. So often you get drowned in veggies and much then gets returned to the bin. No wastage here!! On the recommendation of Kayla, I tried the Malva pudding. Anyone who describes it like Sticky Toffee pudding is incorrect. It's light and fluffy, and although it has a caramel sauce, it's not sickly sweet and cloying as Sticky Toffee. The prices are a little high, but the quality of both the food and the service are worth it. Kayla, our waitress, was helpful, friendly and fun, who made time to have a brief chat with us despite being busy. We felt cared for while we were there. In addition, during our meal, Brett came through the restaurant and had a few words at each table, inquiring if everything was good. Only one more comment which I refuse to call a negative. Sunday was the coldest day of the season so far, and it was raining. The restaurant did feel a little chilly, but I have no doubt that will be rectified now that the cold weather seems to be staying around. Maybe I will need to go and check on another Sunday . . . ;)

I live in the village and come quite a few times from coming back from uni. The food is amazing and good quality, the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming always. The pub is beautiful inside and out and I always know whenever I come I get delicious food and service. Will always return and recommend this to anyone who lives in Adderbury or is passing by. 10/10 !!!

My stepmother and I had a wonderful lunch in this friendly pub – our first visit since it had reopened after refurbishment. We were not disappointed! The food was excellent (duck breast for my stepmother and sweet potato, tomato and apricot tagine with couscous for me, followed by the most delicious Eton Mess I think I’ve ever tasted) and the service was friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be back!
