The Pheasant in Sefton

My daughter & I went to have lunch. We chose pork roast & fish & chips, we had my 6 month old granddaughter with us too. The order was taken promptly but, unfortunately we waited 45 minutes for our meals to arrive. While everyone else around us waited maybe 10/15 minutes. To our dismay the pork roast was stone Cold, no greens & was sent back. My fish & chips were luke warm , the peas were freezing cold. Once we had complained with the forgotten veg & how cold the meal was, another hot meal was brought out but the apple sauce which was offered never arrived. The waitress clearly wasn’t happy with our complaints. A couple on a table next to us same waitress took their order, also had problems. I heard the lady complain to her husband that she had not been given her greens . His roast arrived & he’d ordered a 3 meats roast which he never got so, again his meal had to go back to the kitchen. All in all the service was not good. The meals need more attention & served hot. Don’t think we’ll be back anytime soon

Fantastic food, great value and excellent service from Jackie. The steak and Malbec pie is to die for and well worth the price

The staff are welcoming, and the service was excellent. We both had the sea bass, and it was good . The resteraunt was closing at 6.00pm for staff training. Had a wonderful time.

Had relatives over from East Anglia and took them out for lunch. 3 of us had `so called` fillet steak sandwich and one just soup, lucky man! The sandwichs were unedible, the cob was rock hard the meat was scrag end. The meals were sent back . We were embarassed by it. Charles Davies.

My first visit to the Pheasant since 2017 and I was presently surprised. The Sunday Roasts were excellent, and the choice of sweets was great. Our server, a blonde haired lady with glasses, was lovely, so professional and helpful. What I do not like is the adding on of a 9% service charge. Tips should be left to the discretion of the diner, not added to top up poorly paid staff wages. Pay your staff a reasonable wage. Would we go again...yes.

Been here a few times now. I think this is a gem if a restaurant. I went at lunchtime and hadn't booked. Jackie served me and she remembered me from Feb so she must have A good memory. Ordered sticky chicken for starters £8.50 and pork belly with crackling with apple purée and gravy and I added scallops so this dish came to £23.25. I also had a peroni £2.95. starter was amazing, just enough sweets chilli and the chicken was cooked perfectly and the coating was crispy. The main came out and everything tasted amazing. Even the gravy was the best I've ever tasted. The pork was juicy and melted and the crackling nearly cracked my teeth it was that crackled haha. The scallops were amazing to. Had a cappuccino £3.95 so the bill came to £38.65 which was abit pricey but it tasted amazing. The place was nice,service was low key. It really friendly and the food I've not had a bad meal here. I will come again

Food was amazing, atmosphere good, booking great, drinks good but the service from the waitress Hannah is worth a mention.........she was excellent! Attended to us perfectly, went out of her way to make sure we were OK, so well mannered and kind....she was a star and is the main reason why we will return

Fabulous food, staff couldn’t do enough for us. Beautifully decorated too. We will definitely be back. An extra plus point for being dog friendly too and not having to sit outside!!!!!!!

Been here years ago and wasn’t impressed but have to say we did the wine and dine experience and it was lovely, service was great, special mention to Michelle who was brilliant. The only thing I would say if you dont have children then book later on but apart from that it was a great experience

Four of us visited for lunch today, we received a lovely welcome from our servers Jackie and Liv. They were friendly, efficient and helpful. We all had the set lunch menu and we throughly enjoyed our choices. None of us could manage a full dessert but we had coffee and a selection of mini puds. My brownie was perfect. Food was very reasonably priced. Only minor issue was that the main course was served as soon as we had finished the first course and we could’ve done with a little break.

I went with my mum for a late mother's day lunch. We had a lovely time, the staff were friendly and we both enjoyed our food.

Don’t bother trying here. What an experience! Went with family and friends and we were all very disappointed. Food was very underwhelming and the service to match. Staff stood about chatting and tables had dirty plates and still hadn’t been cleared. Lots of options on the menu if they actually had the stock. Overall very disappointing experience will not be returning!

Came in mothers day and quite frankly I wish I didn't. Service was slow, staff didn't seem interested at all and the food was pretty poor! All the staff looked asthough they had no guidance from anyone! I have reviewed this place a couple of times over the last few months highly recommending it!! Such a shame! I won't be returning in a hurry!

We booked on line and asked for a table in the Conservatory. We arrived slightly early, to a less than friendly reception and although there was a suitable empty table in the Conservatory we were told it was for someone who was coming in before us! There was a limited menu as there was a problem with a grill in the kitchen, so we all decided on the Sunday roast, one vegetarian, one chicken and two beef. The plates were piled high and drenched in gravy, only for the vegetarian option was the gravy separate. The meal consisted mainly of roast potatoes, the portions of roast beef were poor. the vegetables buried underneath were overcooked and the Yorkshire puddings were not good.Part way through my meal that I discovered there was no stuffing wrapped in bacon, I thought it too may be buried. Neither could my husband get any Horseradish Sauce for his beef. We have used this restaurant many times before to meet up with family, but we shall certainly be looking for somewhere else for the future.

We walked in to the restaurant it was very warm and welcoming. we was seated within 2 minute of us arriving paper menu were handed to us ….. would rather of got giving a real hard back menu the paper ones look cheap and tacky …….. ordered our starters they arrived within 10 minutes would give them a 5/10 they are very small for the price of about £8 I would advise getting 3 starters between 2 people ….. we ordered 2 mains and a pizza. The pizza was average 4/10 very thick and chewy was like eating a microwave pizza ….. for mains we got a chicken burger and the pork belly I had to send the chicken burger back as it looked like it had been left in the oil fat over night I took bite of the burger and had to spit it out due to being fat to greasy 5/10 ….. The pork belly was 6/10 was presented very well but the taste was just not there over all I give the pheasant 5/10

Just got home from our meal. We both had the Seabass, which was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. Our server Michelle couldn’t have been better, helpful and really friendly.

We had a lovely lunch, great service from Jackie. My friend particularly enjoyed her fish and chips 😊 and I'd recommend the coffee and mini pud option (berries).

Jackie and Liv were wonderful. The food was amazing. I’m vegan and I felt super taken care of. Also a very dog friendly place which is brilliant.

What a fabulous place with delicious food and warm and friendly staff. This is the second time we have been in two weeks. After having drinks the first time we went back to try the food as it had looked so amazing, it did not disappoint. I had the fish and chips, it was so so tasty and the batter was lovely and crispy. We met Marco last time we visited and he was there again yesterday to greet us with another lovely warm welcome and wonderful service with a smile. We will be back soon and I cannot recommend The Pheasant highly enough.
