Toby Carvery in Sefton

Enjoyed a lovely breakfast to be greeted by the lovely Theresa who has rejoined the team. She never fails to make our experience and we even started going to ainsdale for a carvery as we enjoy he company and service. It was very busy as usual but again nothing was too much for here. There was a big queue at the drinks machine and she offered to fill our drinks at the bar and bring them to our table. Food was great and got there just in time as the deck was replenished with fresh food which was really nice. Will definitely be back especially now Theresa has rejoined the team!

Highly Recomend this Carvery! The atmosphere is amazing , suprizes and Events! ( every Holidays different decorations like Christmas and Haloween) Service vize Staff always helping creating special moments ( for example birthday) they are friendly and always gonna do everything to have great time ! Food - lot of options to chose from! Starting Breakfast and after Carvery! Great quality fresh and Delicous! For people who are vegetarians or Vegans kitchen staff always ready to prepare something just for you ( ex. Coli flower without chease, steamed potatos) REMEMBER ! This Carvery sometimes REALLY BUSY! Waiting times to have food or get tables can take some time! Be patience and respectful to Staff and make their job easier they always do the best ! Thank you! Parking was easy, pub was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Service was a little slow due to time of day. We chose from the set menu. The starters were poor, not good value for the money, the best part was the cucumber curls - the dressing on mine! I had a carvery and my partner had the salmon in pastry. the meat at the carvery was lovely. The salmon was barely visible in the pastry. The pastry was layered too thick, and was around 5 inches thick, swamping the small amount of salmon. As a consequence it was very dry, barely edible. The vegetables and potatoes looked like they had been under the lights too long, the top of each option was dry and discoloured, not appetizing at all. All of the vegetables were lukewarm at best. It was very disappointing and I would not recommend eating here to anyone. Although plenty of staff were on duty, for the most part they were deep in conversation and we had to go to them to get their attention and service.

Long wait at door but only 6 people sitting down, plus didn't know if blue light card was accepted but was in the end.

Ran out of meat before we arrived for our reservation at 7pm on a Saturday.

My visit to the Toby went well, there was plenty of choice at the carvery unfortunately when I returned to my seat to enjoy my dinner my dinner was cold. the queue at the carvery was rather large by now I am disabled and not able to queue twice, it put a dampener on the night, the dinner was half price however the drinks were not.

Took the family out for dinner. They normally come to our house every Thursday. 7 adults and an infant. Food was lovely atmosphere was lovely. Queue was quite long. To me that is a good sign. Value for money..excellent.

Awful experience, paid for breakfast ended up with bacon on toast and a coffee because items not available, eggs in particular. Never again.

The service has gone downhill here the last few times we've been. Tonight for example when the waitress for our section finally appeared we placed an order for deserts, over 30 minutes later still no deserts yet 2 tables of people who ordered after us had had theirs and finished them. Used to regularly come to Toby Aintree, don't think we will be for a long time, would rather travel further afield to another Toby.

Fantastic place to eat and we're served by the very helpful Natalie, who couldnt do enough for us .. we will return very soon .

What a place to be, Picked up a breakfast to take away and it was prepared & served by a cracking bloke - Jack. Jack was so welcoming, polite and humble when I picked up my order and he even explained how he managed to put everything into the breakfast - which shows how he genuinely puts in the extra mile into his work with that sense of personal pride. I was made up and it’s made me realise that I will definitely be returning here again. Cracking place with brilliant and lively people.

My Sisters and I have had a meal tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was great great at.osphere and the staff are so lovely. Been here quite a few times now and to be honest it’s time to move on to elsewhere the standard of the food and the quality just goes down and down and todays carvery was absolutely awful 😡

We come to the Aintree Toby carvery 2-4 times a month and we are always welcomed by a friendly member of staff, especially Hannah and Teresa. The food is always great and clean and tidy.

Food was OK not very consistent and had no Yorkshire puddings Carvery with no Yorkshire puddings Hmmmm!

This was my second time this week I have been to Toby Carvery and the older lady who showed us to our table was very rude. Food and other staff members are nice. I think the older lady needs to cheer up.

A busy and popular restaurant, had a very nice meal here with family. Staff were very friendly and really helpful. Service brilliant and asked regularly if everything was okay with our orders. Therese was particularly attentive and nothing was too much trouble. She had a great sense of humour and made us feel very welcome, very professional too. Would definitely come here again 😁

Don't know if it's post Christmas but great to have parsnips and red cabbage in the line up. Still not sure why there's also mac and cheese! Had turkey and gammon which were both lovely though the beef and pork looked good too...I don't like a lot of fat and none of the meats looked fatty at all.

No roast potatoes delivered with a large roast dinner and clumpy gravy that would make you gag. Also delivered cold and in a wet bag.

Went for a carvery today at aintree ,I was served by a lovely member of staff called Charlie his service was 10/10 answered any questions that I had and quick service throughout made my Toby experience amazing ✨⭐️⭐️

Came on Saturday night, carvery was lovely especially it being late evening wouldn't have thought it be as nice but it was still fresh. The chef who served the meat was such a nice guy I got my dinner and even a takeaway for my son who said it was lovely too The place was very clean, nice atmosphere our server was polite and attentive Really enjoyed it and would definitely return

Just had a lovely Toby carvery Christmas Eve breakfast. We have visited every year apart from covid. Lovely food and atmosphere with the added bonus of fr Christmas and his very happy elf. He estado aquí antes, hace varios meses para su carvery, y después de haber disfrutado de ese pensamiento que volvería. Para tu información, fue un martes por la mañana. Como se indica en el título, no puedes equivocarte aquí. Todos los ingredientes para un inglés completo superior, de gran calidad, y todo lo que pueda comer. Y con té (o café) ilimitado, y todo por menos de diez, fantástico valor. Sin prisas inmediatas, tuve un delicioso brekkie cocido, terminando finalmente con tostadas y mermelada. Un comienzo de día encantador y relajado, y uno que seguramente repetiré. No podía fallar.

Best Toby Carvery in England hands down. Staff fabulous. Parkin plentiful. Toilets clean. Food....delicious! Lamb,beef,turkey and pork. Best roasties,peas (unusual for a carvery) macaroni cheese etc etc. All tasty and hot. Thersa and staff were super nice and it just leaves you with a feeling of "that was a great meal and great time ". I'd recommended it to everyone!

Usually at Christmas time, Restaurants are extremely hectic, the Staff are fraught, and the food below par. But I found The Rocking Horse in Aintree to be relaxing, with most welcoming Staff and excellent food.

I recently visited Tony's Cavery and was very disappointed with my experience. The staff used the same knife to carve all the meats without any regard for cross-contamination. When I pointed this out, instead of addressing my concern professionally, the server argued with me. This lack of attention to food safety is unacceptable. It's alarming to think that they don't take dietary restrictions seriously, and the staff's defensive attitude only made things worse. I attempted to speak with the manager, but she simply apologized and mentioned that she would discuss the issue with her staff. I found her response unconvincing, as she didn't seem interested in offering us any compensation. So we wont be going there again.

Booked online but in restaurant didn't even record as received email later saying we failed to attend. The vegetables and gravy were only lukewarm, though plentiful. When waiting on staff checked at table if everything was OK, I told her this. Her response was just 'oh really' and left. Our daughter had the bottomless drink but she returned with Robinsons orange drink, it tasted terrible - of cleaning fluid or chemicals. Went to bar to inform, mainly out of concern for any young children using, and very uninterested response, with offer of her to choose another drink from bar, though I she didn't want anything other than Robinsons which they didn't do. Went up to pay as no further sign of staff and just as paid in full, I remembered I had blue light discount code for 25% off. The server just shrugged and said I'd already paid. Admittedly, my fault but no attend to re process. Used Toby carveries all over and usually really enjoy everything, but this was by far the worst ever experience. Very poorly run with disinterested staff.

Theresa provided us with a lovely service as usual. We by luck attended when the “golden oldies” event was in full swing. What a lovely atmosphere. Food is always top notch. Highly recommend.

I was disappointed on this visit I am a regular customer to Toby but on this occasion we arrived Sunday evening too be informed that there was of choice of the roast meats my partner went to get her meal first she was only offered gammon and was given one slice of it there was no Yorkshire puddings ready at the time and she came back to the table I then went to join the queue and there was a few people in front of me waiting for more meats to come out of the kitchen one gammon and one roast beef came out after a short wait after getting my meal I returned to the table of Which my partner was already finished her meal . We then paid for the meal and left .we couldn't understand at 1930 hrs on a Sunday that the home of the roast had very little choice of meat etc

I had my carvery roast dinner delivered from the Aintree Toby carvery and it was absolutely rubbish.It was overloaded with carrots and it was all squashed into a container that wasn’t big enough and when I tried to put it onto my plate it came out in a heap of squashed uneatable food.Never again.

My experience on Toby Aintree is great. I have been going to Toby Aintree for many years and every time I go, I always get great service, especially when Theresa is there. She is so nice and makes me feel at home. She is always in a good mood and attentive. I highly recommend it, especially now that they have renovated the restaurant. Me and my girlfriend always have a great time 🥰🥂

Poor carvery, would not recommend of the three of us my daughter throw up before we left,my wife and I felt sick.service was good the poor server seem to be the only person there that was serving. There was no atmosphere but, There was wheelchair accessible the disabled parking but NOT next to the entrance which seems stupid to me WHY? I would not recommend the carvery or any food from this place at all. The only good thing was free to park. I would not give any stars for the food .
