Server Martine was absolutely lovely, couldn't ask for anything better.

Everything was great, hubby's beef was a bit chewy & quite fatty but apart from that, everything was nice & hot. Our waitress Jane was lovely and attentive.

We had great family lunch , woman called Catherine took time to interact with my toddler and was really lovely.

Had a fantastic experience for my first visit to tobys , was served by the lovely Natalie who was fantastic in everything we asked for and even phoned us a taxi to get us home . Will return very soon

I recently had a birthday meal here with my family the food and service was very good I would recommend this place to have a wonderful meal.

The food was excellent. Every member of staff was exemplary, polite & courteous. Service was very quick. The dining area was exceptionally clean, which was a lovely surprise. My only wish was for a greater range of beers at the bar. Only one bitter and one stout was a little disappointing but certainly not enough to stop us from returning. The beer was well kept and tasty though. Ten out of ten for the establishment as a whole.

Nice experience, friendly server that served me. Asked for a quiet area and this was not a problem. Food was lovely. Thankyou to the server Martine, she was lovely and top notch customer service

Now two stars is not a reflection on the staff. The staff is the only reason this place even got two stars one for the staff and one for the food. Again that sounds bad and dig at both but this is a star rating fault not their fault. Toby is suffering like so many these days but reducing staff and cost cutting ain't going to help them survive . The food which is average and affordable has always been the best thing about a Toby. But the cost cutting is being taken from the wrong areas focusing on profit for owners rather than service. And when service no matter how hard the staff try is affected. Wait times for everything from seating to paying as two wait staff struggle to maintain their areas. I feel for them I really do , they try but they can't keep up with the demands on them and ultimately this ruined the experience and will put many off returning which will no doubt result in more costing until once again we lose her another local pub. I wish the staff well and hope things improve for them

First time going here for a breakfast and was disappointed. Food was not hot and tasted oily. On a lighter note though staff were nice and friendly.

Lovely food and interior. Catherin was really helpful and attentive. Would recommend to anyone wanting a quick, but real meal.

very good carvery plenty of choice of meats and loads of veg all very good we opted for the meal deal, which had a pud as well (limited choice, but what they do have is very good excellent value attended to by a very posh waitress called michale highly recommended

I love it here. Great value, delicious breakfast and the staff and manager are very welcoming. Lovely atmosphere. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my Sunday breakfast.

Trish was so kind and polite from the minute we walked in the door, she was very helpful and we was served by her twice. Each and every time she collected all of our plates and and glasses and had such a lovely smile on her face. She asked us could she help us with anything else which brought us to the bar a second time and we said both times isn’t she lovely. Would definitely come here again!🥰💗💕

We were sat outside with our dogs for some lunch and drinks and the lady serving us, Hannah, was very helpful and nice and we had a laugh. Made the experience even better. Had a lovely time would recommend.

Katie was extremely attentive and provided fantastic customer service. We came for a family birthday and she was kind enough to bring out the birthday boys dessert with the staff singing happy birthday. All other members of staff were also lovely and attentive. Best carvery we’ve been to in Liverpool so far.

We are nearly alway very pleased and really enjoy our meals and visits, but on our last visit on Tuesday 30th July 2024 we were disappointed firstly trying to book over phone it kept saying there was no available bookings for 6pm which we wanted so we booked for a time slot they had at 4.50pm instead but for most of the time we were there many empty tables expecially at 6pm when we wanted , secondly the guy cutting the meat was very unfriendly and gave us the most smallest cuts of meat I have ever seen and mostly fatty meat I gave my plate back to him and said can I change this as its only 2 peacers of meat and there fatty what I was given was not that much better apart from feeling like Oliver asking for more I thought forgot it.. Here's to service back to normal on our next visit.

Our server Taylor handled our huge booking absolutely amazingly she worked so hard and made sure every one of us was okay we've absolutely enjoyed this service thankyou for making my mother in laws 50th so special and this girl needs to be spotted for a higher position I am absolutely amazed how she handled 22 guests so quickly and being on the ball the whole entire time.

Just had an amazing experience at the Toby Carvery.It was a birthday treat from my cousin to me..Food was absolutely delicious,staff courteous and professional..I would highly recommend this venue.

Staff are friendly and helpful. We got there for the first lunch service so the food should be fresh, but unfortunately a lot of the stuff had a skin on top or burnt due to the heat lamps. Food tasted okay and again always good value for money

Very disappointed. No Pepsi Max left, was expecting lamb to be available as advertised and it wasn't. After standing in a massive queue I got a slice of turkey and a fatty, tough chunk of beef from the near gone joint which was sitting next to a large fresh beef joint. Got to the gravy and sauces station, no gravy left and had to scrape the dishes to get some sauce. Didn't feel like standing around waiting for gravy while my meal was getting cold. We visit regularly usually mid week, but will not be visiting on a Sunday again. Quite expensive too for what we got, really not worth it.

Had the loveliest evening out with my kids the food was amazing and the waiter Charlie was so lovely and welcoming and he went out of his way to get everything we needed and helped when my kids where being abit fussy. We'll definitely be coming back. 😋

Original review stars was harsh .Breakfast stop, love a cooked breakfast and Toby didn't disappoint, the food was good. Only reason for the lower review was the assistant was due to the assistant, think she must have been having a bad morning. Sorry Toby, it wasn't you, food is always good.
