The Peregrine in Newcastle upon Tyne

The food is always great value for money and tasty! The reason we keep coming back is the atmosphere and the staff are just so friendly

food was awful, chicken breast was hard around the edges as if it had been reheated in the microwave, portion sizes were tiny.

We called in at the Perrigrine for food after a day at the Metro Centre. It's just off the A1, so it's not out of range for getting home. Picked a seat for the four of us, and a member of staff came straight across and told us she would be with us in two minutes. I love food from the Grill, so I went for the mixed grill, as did the son. Wife and daughter opted for Lasagne and Chicken Tikka Massala. Noticed there were a few TV's up on the walls and thought it would be an ideal place to watch the football. The waitress was really friendly when we ordered, asked the usual about allergies, still find this strange but I do understand why. Took our order and I think it took about 20 mins and it came out. One of my pet hates is when maybe two meals come out and you are waiting even 3 or 4 minutes for the others, but came out together and I thoroughly enjoyed my mixed grill, absolutely lovely. You can tell when the food is nice, nobody talks! I can really recommend this pub, food is spot on, friendly staff and very reasonably priced.

We have been on numerous occasions and found the food decent, however We went on the 9th of feb. The food was dry, tasteless. We won’t be returning for food that’s for sure.

It’s literally a joke to get served here unless certain staff are present. The lad with the blonde hair is more interested in trying to look like a gangster or ladies man than serving anyone. He just looks at you waiting then walks past into the kitchen out of the kitchen. Into the bar and back again. Staff serve the person next to you then walk away. I was literally ignored by 3 staff members. AM I STANDING AT THE BAR WITH MONEY IN MY HAND FOR NOTHING ? Weird weird staff energy. I’m so sorry to bother you wanting to order a drink guys. This isn’t just a one off either. It’s pretty regular.

Management is a joke rude and horrible who talk to paying customers like sonething they just walked in and bare people for putting reviews on Look forward to seeing alot more bad ones 😂

Brilliant atmosphere in the pub, excellent with the kids. Great service and lovely food. Very good value for money and the staff were really friendly, will definitely recommend for families.

Just a fabulous pub with lovely friendly staff clean toilets and good prices not forgetting best pub food good location easy to find. I’m visiting again next Wednesday for a curry night with friends from work good value theme nights

Pleasant greetings by pleasant staff cant fault them at all. Very reasonable prices for both food and drink. No rip off there as there currently is with many others jumping on the bandwaggon of corporate greed that is sweeping the country.Fish whilst not the largest was better than the local Fish & Chip shops. Chips VERY HOT with a powdery texture inside just like from a freezer shop. Chicken breast was NOT a Sunday dinner type of meat, It looked and tasted as if it was marinated in something and a very hard edge. Couldnt work out what it was but it was certainly nothing like any other Sunday dinner chicken anywhere. Huge tasty Yorkshire pudding probably made in house but sliced carrots were inedible,. Never tasted such nice shandy anywhere as was served up at The Perigrine. The only thing that was really spoiling our Sunday dinner was the gluey sticky table. Despite the staff wiping it and spraying with something it was still as sticky as the start. That was a spoiler for the rating.

Always a favourite of ours to visit, especially on a Sunday and today did not disappoint! Our best visit to date. The dinners are excellent, staff lovely and amazing service. Can't wait for next Sunday!

Not going to lie I was very disappointed with the food that was served not very nice tasting at all the poppadoms tasted fishyer than the scampi and the cutlery was very dirty when brought to table and children's high chairs are filthy all in all very disappointed

Fantastic service from a lovely member called jay, very attentive and approachable, excellent customer service I will be returning.

I came in yesterday to have a couple of drinks and was pleasantly surprised by the young lad behind the bar! Not only was Craig very polite, he also told me about the season ticket app and helped me set it up in order to get my free welcome drink. All in all a great time and I'm sure that I'll be coming in a lot more!

Decided to try The Peregrine as moved recently into Westerhope and glad to say very nice pub. We had some of the chicken wings which were lush and food good value and had a laugh with the staff. We ordered our food with Mike who took our order and such a happy and welcoming member of staff. Thanks and we will be coming back for sure.

Se dejó caer en el Hungry Horse Peregrine en West Denton a la hora del almuerzo. Agradable ambiente agradable. Pedí un pollo clásico newyorker. Las dos piezas de pollo parecerían tener una abeja cortada en dos de aproximadamente 40 x 30 x 10 mil, adornada sobre esto era una pieza de tocino de 12 mil x 75 molinos camuflada en salsa de barbacoa. Una pequeña porción de papas fritas y una pequeña ofrenda de guisantes. Llamado un pollo clásico, el neoyorquino parece exagerado. ¡Un pollo clásico West Denton parecería más apropiado! El queso macoronie era justo, venía con una pieza de pan de ajo, no como los menús y la guarnición consistía en algunas hojas de lechuga secas, monótonas y moteadas arrojadas al plato. Intentar adornar esta comida falló. ¡La taza de agua y la bolsita de té que recordaban a una cantina de construcción parecían inapropiadas y la taza de café podría tener raíces similares! No volveremos galopando a este hambriento abrevadero de caballos rápidamente.

Had dinner with friends on Sunday evening and kayley served me & my friends she was was very polite, with great service. Would definitely recommend going for dinner here if you are in the area. Will be visiting again :)

Come in here all of the time to watch sport. Always have everything on- multiple TV’s and great staff. Staff always friendly, Emily in particular. Always goes out of her way on orders and is always happy and friendly. A slice of lemon in lemonades please though!

What a lovely meal we had here at the peregrine. Beautiful service by Rachael and attended to all of our needs throughout our meal. Definitely recommend the food and the prices are even better! 2 meals for £10! Who can grumble at that?!

This pub is a shining example for greene king. The selection of drinks is outstanding and the Gins are fantastic. I love how Stevie always lets us know when a new gin comes in. She is so fun and friendly and makes the atmosphere behind the bar wonderful. She’s a asset to the place. Well done Stevie, great job as always

Not been to the perry for a while but visited today with a friend as we had a 2 for 1 voucher, we both had mini mixed grill, definitely not mini and was lovely, especially the gammon

Specifically asked for a CHEESE baguette (no onion chutney) bearing in mind they do not do TUNA on anything, the baguette arrived with onion chutney. When sent it back the comments from the chef were “ as a gesture of good will, we will change it but NEXT time, read the menu!” Absolutely appalling bearing in mind I specifically asked for NO ONION CHUTNEY!! Waitress delivering the message was very rude, abrupt and abhorrent behaviour.

Pub desaliñado! luego, para colmo de males, sucedió otra vez. Pedí hablar con el gerente, quien cuando salió obviamente no era el gerente, ya que me informó que en realidad era el gerente quien vivía arriba arrojando cigarrillos. Maravilloso servicio de atención al cliente. La mesa estaba llena de marcas de quemaduras del "gerente". ¡Ah, está en camino un correo electrónico a la fábrica de cerveza, no hay sinceras disculpas del personal que obviamente no se preocupó! Being in the area and previously visited the Peregrine my hubby and i decided to drop in for tea as we had always enjoyed the food on the menu.

It's been a while since I've been to the Peregrine as I live in the Midlands. I was up visiting my parents and we chose to go for lunch. 2 of us had the New Yorker. The chicken was not very warm and quite tough to cut, in fact the whole meal wasn't hot. My dad had the pensioners 2 course meal of Gammon, with an egg and chips then apple crumble and ice cream which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Fantastic good fantastic service had a great night with my daughter, wet and awful outside dropped in there atmosphere great and couldn't of asked for better value for money will defineyly return only bug bear was young kids running around but didn't spoil our visit

Visit with friends.First thing we noticed was that the menu was huge and vast, I don't usually like this as it means the food is bought in and reheated or not made with much care as what chef is trained in so much food.That said, all ordered and got fairly ok food for the price. I had a spices chicken dish which came with salad and rice which was nice and fresh, only bad thing was that I had finished my food before other people's even arrived which wasn't great.

I had the cheese pie today and it was disgusting, I normally order this and it's nice but today it taste like something in it was off. Never again it's put me off it

the menu looks very good but I have tried somethings on numerous occasion as a long established regular and everything seams to taste like they need to change to oils more regular, even the salads taste like they have been deep fried.as for the beer (ref yorki521) and they have now decided to change the glasses to cheep old ones from yesteryear they don't or rarely hold the head and goes flat unless you drink it relatively quick, probably not worth complaining management just shrug or tall you to e mail head office nothing to do with them. (wonder if fosters and the like know they are selling products out of named receptacles we will see eh) anyway trying the denton just opend after re ferb

me and my mum just been here for 2 baked alaskas and we were dissapointed. baked alaska is meant to have cake in it, this 1 had cookie which was solid. we could hardly cut it, the meringue was very runny when it should be set. it was terribly sweet. the icecream part was okay though.

The bar advertises a selection of cask ales however when I attempted to purchase one they informed me they were all off for cleaning. Not very good taking all off at once. I opted for the Guinness which was not very good either.

i went here with my family for a meal and have to say it was the worst meal i have had in years the food was cold and some of it was overcooked i complained but all i got was a ahh ok. take my advice do not order food from here.
