Amazing . This news the best Sunday dinner I’ve ever had at a pub . Well recommended. Well worth the money I had beef was very tender just could not fault it in any way

Often go here for Sunday lunch, never disappointed, always, hot, tasty and extra gravy available. Staff are always friendly. Totally recommend especially for the Sunday lunch

Visited here as a party of eight , had a mixture of all 3 roast dinners which came with plenty of meat and mixture of vegetables and of course great gravy

Didn't try the food but the drinks are good and it's a lovely cosy pub atmosphere, just stopped in for a quiet drink but will come again

A great local boozer, not your craft ale pub but they do have a few decent ones on, and nice pub grub, all at decent prices. Friendly service. They run a fun pub quiz on a Monday night, starting 20:00.

Was disappointed with the fish. Small piece and more batter than fish. Small jug of gravy on the plate what's that about. So when that was taken off not much food on the plate. Not asked if food was ok. We were the first in for food that lunch time. Scampi was only warm.

Sunday dinner was absolutely dreadful. Came here a few weeks before Christmas and the experience was night and day difference. Couldn't fault the meal (Sunday dinner) we had before Christmas but this past weekend it was horrendous. Would not go back, which is a shame as it is a lovely pub with friendly staff.

This could be a great pub, but improve your menu and food quality. Before the new ownership the food was passable, but now it’s gone downhill again. You can tell the ingredients used are the cheapest they can get away with.

We were really looking forward to a nice Sunday roast - waited 45 minutes for our food (it wasn’t even that busy)and not once did anyone come and apologise for the wait -and then when it did come we were so disappointed-frozen roast potatoes - the veg comprised of 2 (yes 2) carrot batons and 3 small cubes of turnip -portions very small for the price

Super Sunday Lunch at The Millstone in South Gosforth. Fresh vegetables, luscious meat & great Yorkshires. Highly recommended

Massive changes since I was last in. Still a great pub. Very much a food pub now. Great selection of beers. Real ales were superb.

Went in after playing football for a drink. Others had a pint but I asked for a Black Current and Lemonade, it was a 14oz glass (barmaid called it that not me) for £3.65!!!! Wow a pint of black current and water £1.80! Then she called time at 09:40 and chase around 30 people out at 10:00. Poor form I'd say

We attend newcastle for hospital appointments and travel from scotland the night before appointments .We were looking for somewhere to go and have dinner and what a find. What a lovely atmosphere very friendly and clean as soon as we walked in, we had a warm greeting from the staff.the food was lovely warm and plentiful.to top our visit, there was a (free) quiz on, and the locals made us feel so welcome .at half time, each table was given a plate of chips (again, these were free). we honestly can not be more thankful to all the staff and locals for making our night memorable. we sure will be going back on our next visits to Newcastle

Thanks for business get out We decided to meet old friends and arrived just after 1pm settled in for a catch up and drinks all going lovely until a member of staff walked up to the table plonked a tile Down just before 4.30 and advised this table is booked for 5pm WHAT if they had advised at 1 pm fine even at 3 pm we asked where we were supposed to sit oh anywhere else that is free (rather busy at that point) why so little notice well any table can be booked why kick out paying customers who had been sitting all afternoon for those self entitled persons who think they are owed a seat! Needless to say we did’nt move until we were ready but won’t be back and they wonder why they are in administration customer service at its finest NOT

Great food and atmosphere. Inside was kept warm and I would recommend the bao buns. The smoking area is also sheltered and warm.

So arrived at 6.45pm to meet family as we do every year in boxing night from all over the north east. Tried to ring all week with no joy so we just took a chance on getting seats. Was so excited when realised we could get 14 seats together only to be told when ordering drinks that they were closing at 8pm!! Lots of family members are elderly with the oldest 90! What a complete disaster of a night …… I was told the reason I didn’t get an answer on phone all week was because the phone was broken and we checked the website which said nothing about closing early. Shocking customer service and won’t be returning after I don’t know how many years.

Had the Chicken and Chips and Curry Sauce, Chips overcooked, Chicken Breast piece sliced in 2, and so dry the Curry Sauce struggled to make it acceptable!

Used to be a nice pub years ago. Second bad experience now, pub had 1 person in but we waited 45/50 minutes for our food and when it came it was worse than a hungry horse pub. Such a let down, staff are miserable and unwelcoming too. Would never go again!! Don’t waste your money.

I had 2 pints of caffreys it was lovely

Sunday lunch. Waited 50 minutes for meal when it came it was cold. Sent the meals back barman said the chef has said would you like the meals microwaved or a new meal. When the new meals arrived there was no roast potatoes. Also our table was booked in person the day before but when we arrived there was no booking. Things have gone downhill since Tracey left.

Went in 2pm, place was virtually empty, wanted lunch, woman at the bar (manageress?) was totally uninterested and unwelcoming, we left. We instead went to Geisha Italian in Benton which was the polar opposite of this place!

I ordered a cocktail for my wife and the barmaid says I haven’t got time to make it I’m on my own!! I says I thought you were a pub. It a disgrace, if you haven’t got enough staff get some more.

One member of staff on bar, yes you read that correctly ONE! Bar absolutely rammed que the full length of the bar. Must be over one hundred people. Whoever owns this bar needs to give himself a shake. First and last visit

Came for Sunday lunch and was advised that I couldn't have lunch because a group of people had come and the chef had only one joint of beef ? I was told I would have to wait until they had ordered to see what was left . Very disapointing to say the least.

Had a terrible experience at The Millstone on the 7/4 as me and my friends family went to eat at The Millstone on Haddricks Mill Road and my order wasn’t placed and when it finally arrived after ten minutes when everyone else at my table was finished eating and ready to leave the waiter spilt half my chips on the floor didn't even apologise and ran off back to behind the bar where he continued to chat with another member off staff when people were waiting to be served. When i started to eat my food i quickly realised that they hadn't sent me the right food we quickly left after the terrible service from this restaurant. very disappointed and will not be returning.

Lovely pub, great choice of drinks and a fantastic food menu.

Nice pub, good atmosphere, the rugby was on when we visited. Wasn't too impressed with the food. We ordered flatbreads which were supposed to come with hummus, this was spread so thinly I didn't think there was any there. We paid an extra £3 for chicken which there wasn't much of! I asked for chipotle mayo and it came with caesar dressing! We ordered dirty chips but there was nothing dirty about them it was just chips with some chorizo and a tiny amount of black pudding which was disappointing. We also ordered the boa buns which were not light and airy like they're supposed to be but quite hard 🙁 I probably would have given 5 starts if the food had of been spot on but it was disappointing.

We had a good Sunday lunch, food and drink good. Staff were very good. Veg on Sunday lunch needs a bit of work as only one parsnip, carrots soggy. Cheese cake was not great either

Just popped in for a quick drink. Staff were friendly. Early in the evening so not much atmosphere. Caffreys was only £2.50 which was a bargin. They have other offers on drinks B4 7pm and food £3.99 for a selection of meals. A winter deal.

Good bar with a decent range of drinks. Due to layout it can fill up quickly. Lovely outside in the summer

I was really disappointed to have sat down at a table where food plates and glasses covered a free table. We ordered drinks and expected they would be cleared once we sat down. When I went to order a second drink, I asked the bar staff if they could please clear the table of the plates and glasses. It still didn’t happen. Not an impressive service at all. Combined with the fact there’s never any toilet roll in the ladies or hot water in the tap, I think I’d much rather pend my money elsewhere.

I held an event in the upstairs function room recently and things couldn't have been more perfect! Staff were so helpful and friendly, room and amenities were spotlessly clean and tidy. Everyone attending agreed what a lovely atmosphere the pub has. An all round 5 star rating and 5 star recommendation. I hope to book your room again in the future!

Nice roadside pub. Had a veggie roast here one Sunday. The roast squash was delicious and we'll flavoured with a roasted peppers. The other veg was disappointing though - overboiled and soft like your Gran likes it and with roast potatoes that are made from frozen. Could be great with a more modern approach.

I liked this pub, good atmosphere. Not too loud, although they do have football on TV so pick your night. A mature clientele and a pleasant outside space with picnic tables and dogs. I enjoyed the food, my fellow vegitarian diner was happy. Nice spot.

Cute pub… doggy friendly… great deals on food for tues-thurs. Live music thurs…. Good outdoor seating area, but might need the outdoor heaters for the winter

Rude and patronising manager discriminated against a group of young adults all over 18 with identification. Was completely uncalled for with her pushing away potential customers as it was in her words”an adults pub “ not for young adults . This embarrassing display was a real shame .

I'll start with the positives! Lovely service the staff were very friendly. Drinks were fantastic - especially the Guinness! The area was lovely and clean. The toilets were lovely, even if the women's were all the way upstairs! The tables were quite squished together so there wasn't any room for social distancing or even getting past your table to get to the bar. Shame the food was lacking. We ordered two hunters chicken that came with barely any BBQ sauce that they were dry! The chicken platter was more batter than chicken. The sugar cane bone in the jackfruit was confusing and it was so vingerary in taste I couldn't eat it. And the menu is incorrectly labelled - FYI halloumi isn't vegan its made with goats milk! (to note VE usually stands for vegan where as V is normally vegetarian the menu was honestly baffling with how the foods were labelled) I'm vegetarian and not vegan so I didn't truly mind but a vegan would be very unhappy to see this. Overall the experience was lovely! I hope the kitchen is able to amend a few things and the menu is reprinted correctly. This place has a lot of potential!

Terrible lunch. The table was dirty, the chips undercooked and tasteless and id rather not know where the burger meat came from. The"kids menu" was 2 options, we chose the chicken which was more batter than chicken and completely covered in pepper, so my kid refused to eat it. There was clearly no kids menu. Overall, the worst pub lunch i have ever had!!!

Visité anoche con mi mamá. El gran ambiente y el servicio fue excelente, muy amable y rápido. Conseguimos nuestra comida en 15 minutos y estaba buenísimo. La hamburguesa de espinacas y falafel definitivamente valió la pena su precio. Muchas gracias por la increíble noche, ¡volveremos!

Visitamos el lunes festivo de agosto, una muy mala decisión. Aunque habíamos reservado una mesa, esperamos más de una hora para nuestra comida. El "risotto" de mi esposo era un plato de pudín muy pequeño de arroz con leche con algunos champiñones encima, sin patatas fritas de queso incluidas. A las 9 . 95 caro por alrededor de 9. Mi salmón y los espárragos estaban casi fríos, el espárrago estaba irreconocible, tenía un tono entre gris y limón pálido, estaba demasiado cocido y arrugado. El pesto de ajo estaba untado sobre el salmón y parecía ketchup. Absolutamente asqueroso. A las 11 . 95 el precio era increíble. ¿Qué diablos ha pasado con el menú anterior a un precio razonable? Sé que es necesario recuperar los ingresos perdidos, pero estafar a la gente y proporcionar comida horrible no es la manera de hacerlo. Fue el último día de "Comer fuera para ayudar", así que obtuvimos un descuento, pero incluso con eso, fue muy caro. Qué pena que este pub que antes era encantador ahora esté fuera de nuestra lista de pubs a los que ir. Cuando fui a pagar la cuenta sin decirle nada a la pobre señora que claramente estaba abrumada por todo, recibí una disculpa. Creo que ella era muy consciente de que las cosas estaban muy por debajo de los estándares por los que eran conocidos anteriormente. Realmente debe volver a cambiar el menú o arriesgarse a que otras personas abandonen este pub que antes era encantador.

Back to one of my favourite gastro pubs for my mother’s monthly treat situated in South Gosforth the food was fantastic as always real quality reasonably priced and superbly prepared and presented

Long wait for service considering it was quiet.

Having ventured into the Millstone i was a bit unsure having browsed the generic, predictable looking menu but the Cheese bake i ordered arrived and all my fears were allayed and proven to be missfounded. The Cheese, Pasta & Broccoli bake was proper home cooked tasty grub with massive wedges of garlic bread and the beer was also spot on. Despite how busy the pub was the barman was also very attentive and friendly.

Fantastic Sunday lunch with family yesterday! The Yorkie wrap was lovely, plenty meat and gravy....roast potatoes were amazing too!! 😍

Love this pub, it’s always busy but never overcrowded and everyone is so friendly.We had a great Sunday lunch today, food is tasty, really good value for money. Top marks to Tommy, Amber and Lewis who looked after us really well

Fantastic choice on the menu opted for the cajon chicken with sweet potato fries and salad could not fault it brother had gammon with all the trimmings and wife had fish pie all dishes were fantastic and at reasonable prices will definitely come back sooner than later what a great lunch also the staff were very professional and friendly absolutely fantastic place very enjoyable

Fantastic sunday lunch today at the millstone, perfection. Staff are fabulous, courteous and cannot do enough for you especially when you have 2 babies with you. Would highly recommend this place and extremely good value for Lunch. Will definitely be back 👍

Visited for the first time recently & was really pleased! The food was lovely and we didn’t have to wait long at all for our order to come out, despite it being a busy period. The staff behind the bar were really friendly and welcoming. Will definitely come back.

No somos locales, por lo que siempre es un poco arriesgado probar un nuevo lugar para comer en una ciudad extraña. En esta ocasión tuvimos suerte. Fuimos recibidos calurosamente y atendidos por la encantadora Amber. El servicio fue rápido, la comida caliente y sabrosa e incluso obtuvimos un poco de información turística. Gran descubrimiento: volveremos la próxima vez que estemos en la zona.

El Millstone fue una vez un lugar encantador que ofrece excelentes comidas. Debido a la mala salud que no hemos visitado en mucho tiempo y es muy triste ver el lugar ir cuesta abajo como lo ha hecho. Visitamos hoy, tuve el pollo tikka que era insípido, claramente una comida de microondas, con tantos lugares excelentes para comer en el área, es una pena que la piedra de molino haya renunciado de esta manera. La joven gerente rubia en el bar estaba más interesada en hablar con el chef que en tomar mi pedido. Tampoco había papel higiénico en el inodoro a media tarde, claramente no se reponía en absoluto. Todo el pub podría hacer un estiramiento facial y una buena limpieza.

Visité The Millstone muchas veces y siempre es un ganador. La comida es de gran valor con precios justos para buenas raciones. No se puede equivocar para 2 comidas para 11. Por lo general, opto por la hamburguesa, que es mucho mejor que cualquiera de las hamburguesas que obtienes en las articulaciones de la ciudad. No he probado muchas bebidas aquí, pero todas tienen un precio razonable también. No tiene la decoración más moderna en su interior, pero tiene la sensación de un pub tradicional dorado. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente si en la zona.

La cerveza generalmente está bien cuidada y hay una buena elección. El precio también es genial. Todo el lugar necesita un poco de atención y hay momentos en que entro, se siente como una vida asistida. El más cutre de los tres pubs de la zona, pero generalmente hay más de una pinta decente, no agria, los precios son excepcionalmente amigables y, lo más importante, no hay perros corriendo por todo el lugar. Nunca tuve la comida. Parece, eh, abundante, por decir lo menos.

Called in at my local pub the Millstone, South Gosforth Newcastle upon Tyne for lunch and I decided to have the "BELLY Buster" 3 meat main course and it was absolutely delicious. I didn't think I would finish it but I did. The main course was £9.95 which is only £2.70 more than the standard main course (£7.25). Many thanks to the Manageress and staff who made me and all other diners most welcome in the pub.

We arrived about 1:30pm, hadn’t booked a table and the bar was very busy. Worried we wouldn’t get a table, we were greeted by a lovely woman who re-arranged some tables that had bookings on so we could fit in. Pleasantly surprised that it was waiter service, so we didn’t have to go to the bar either. We ordered two large mixed meat Sunday lunches and WOW. It was a traditional, fresh home cooked Sunday lunch. The meat was thick with lots of roasties, parsnips, two Yorkshire’s, stuffing, mash and veg. I can honestly say it was one of the nicest roasts I’ve ever eaten out. We were stuffed after that so didn’t get a dessert. The staff were all so friendly and accommodated to our needs. We will definitely be returning here ! 5 * from us ! Thank you

Visited today for first time. Would defo say you have to book as we arrived at 2pm and had booked and lots of people turned away as was busy. Staff really friendly especially woman with blonde curly hair. We had a bit of a hiccup where order wasnt ordered to kitchen however she was brilliant at the way she handled it. It was nice to get piping hot food when it arrived. If you dont mind a wait about 30 mins for average then it is good value for what you pay. Could have bit more veg variety and I miss turnip on a Sunday lunch however we will fo back as staff are lively and we will try fish fryday. Give it a go just leave yourself plenty time in a Sunday. Good portions too.

Called in on saturday early evening with friends.had not been un here for 30 years! Great nenu plenty choice, unbelieabke prices...so reasonable for some of the best home cooked food! We all ate different meals and were all pleased with the food and the great service.dud not wait long at all. Went back in bank holiday monday and again had some grest food...try the liver and inions.fush and chips and the steak oie ...allk freat .will defo be back here next time in the toon !

Looking for somewhere to host my good lady’s birthday, and the Millstone was suggested. Met with the manageress who couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. The upstairs room was exactly the size we were looking at - not huge, but a nice size to accommodate guests on the evening. We visited the following week to confirm a few things for the evening, and decided to stay for Sunday lunch. We hadn’t booked but a nice table was available. The food was excellent - I had the pork, which came with a good piece of crackling, and all the usual trimmings. Well worth a visit, however I’d recommend booking as it’s very popular from what I could see. Looking forwards to the party night in June. Thanks to all atThe Millstone.

My husband and I visited on valentine's Day. We were given the valentine's menu. 3 courses for £23 and a complimentary bottle of wine. We weren't expecting much with the price being so cheap. Wow how wrong! The food was beautiful. My partner got burger and home made chips which came with home made onion rings and slaw. I got rump steak with chips mushrooms, onion rings and peas. Been here lots of times, and tried a few things on the menu, corned beef pie, steak pie are really nice, as are they chips. Good value.

Visité aquí de nuevo un par de veces en Navidad. Es un local amigable con un buen personal y un ambiente agradable. La comida es perfectamente buena y bien presentada con un servicio rápido. Una selección razonable de cervezas, y una opción entre un bar muy cómodo y un salón luminoso y alegre.

10 of us decided to try this venue for Sunday Lunch on the 2nd Dec. Well impressed..in the hands of a new manager..most had Sunday lunch with a selection of traditional meats and veg..all well impressed.

This pub has a lovely atmosphere due mainly to the friendly staff. Have been for Sunday Lunch on a number of occasions and it’s always been spot on.

Had dinner here today wow best ive ever had at millstone well done jenny fran tommy will defo be back .

Was driving to novocastrians to watch my team play rugby and stopped off here for lunch. Food was delicious and an absolute bargain. Staff very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much effort. Have considered driving the 2 hours just to return for a Sunday roast. Fabulous!!

Estuve aquí solo brevemente, un viernes a última hora de la tarde a finales de marzo, pero me alegro de haber hecho el esfuerzo y haber probado un par de cervezas en el proceso. Estaba tranquilo en el momento de mi visita, pero sin duda se habrá agotado una vez que la gente terminó el trabajo y era evidente que el Millstone es un espacio encantador no solo para beber sino para comer, así como había un menú completo y una cocina adecuada.

Vengo aquí a menudo para almorzar con mi familia, solemos reservar la gran mesa de 10 asientos en la parte trasera del bar, sin embargo, la decisión no es mía, es normalmente mi padre.

Visitamos hoy aquí por la recomendación de mis padres, que siempre están en la búsqueda para encontrar la perfecta cena domingo! Que había visitado la semana anterior y ha señalado cómo sus asados eran así que decidimos darle una oportunidad.

Aunque he dado 3 estrellas, esta una ocasión pusiesen cene en el era simplemente porque era el padre de día y decirle a mi padre elegir donde él quería ir. Hemos visitado aquí antes simplemente para salir a comer en vez de comer y ha sido muy impresionante pero esta vez fue diferente.

Yo estaba aquí el lunes para comida y bebidas con dos amigos. La selección de cervezas era bueno, siete para elegir. Decidimos pedir comida y dos de nosotros pedimos desde el menú especial de lunes. Yo tenía en conserva tarta de carne con patatas fritas y mi pareja tenía lasaña servido con patatas fritas.
