Enjoyed our recent lunch at Pennoyer Centre, freshly prepared food served by friendly staff. We had Cowboy pie which consisted of local sourced sausages, baked beans, onions, topped with cheesy mashed potato which was delicious. The homemade cakes looked so tasty and so tempting so of course we indulged, again delicious. We will be back.

I went today for lunch with my family after having the centre recommended to me. Simply put, everything was excellent! The centre has good parking, was very clean and the staff were super helpful with nothing being too much trouble. The homemade quiche was amazing, as were the cakes, and the coffee was also great. This really is a hidden gem that deserves huge success, and if you haven't been there yet, you're missing out!

We visited the Pennoyer Centre for a light lunch. We all enjoyed our food. Sandwiches are well presented and very generous with the addition of salad coleslaw and crisps. The cakes looked very yummy and I must add that the scones are amazing. I often choose a scone at a cafe and I would rate the scones at the Pennoyer Centre at 5 stars, just delicious. The cafe staff are very helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend this cafe to everyone.

I took my Mum out for a cuppa to Pennoyers this week. What an utter delight. As a dog owner, Mum was thrilled to see they have a dog-friendly table, complete with dog printed tablecloth and welcoming dog biscuits! On this occasion we sat outside in the sunshine where our lovely waitress Vicky brought us drinks and cakes. Mum had Lemon Drizzle and cappuccino. I had Banana Biscoffi and a cup of tea. As someone who used to make cakes as part of their job, I am quite hard to please, but these cakes were absolutely amazing. The Banana Biscoffi was a beautifully moist sponge, with toffee and banana buttercream filling, and it was LUSH!! I have eaten ( and made) a lot of lemon drizzle in my time, but that one was the best I have EVER had. I don't know how many lemons went into it, but it was incredibly lemony. Cannot recommend this cafe highly enough, we will most definitely be back!!

We like Pennoyer's and have been here several times before. Amongst the rush of Christmas food shopping, we went out of our way to call in for coffee. There was one other table occupied with some people having breakfast. We gave our orders and waited; watching as other people came in. The girl behind the counter took four other orders (and their money) - but after fifteen minutes, we still had no coffee. The first table, with about six people, received all the attention. We asked for our money back and went elsewhere. Honestly, making coffee is not difficult - but it seems, for some staff members, thinking is. What a shame - could the trustees have a word where it is needed?

Perhaps a long French stick filled with bacon and salad. I think you haven't taken locals Into account with your prices, would have been nice to have coffee and sandwich but your toooo overpriced, reduce prices and more oaps and low income families would flood the gates.

Having found the Pennoyer cafe by accident earlier in the year, this time we planned a special diversion to try it out again. We'd remembered the delicious cakes and vowed to return. This time, hubby had an all day breakfast, which was cooked to order with the eggs just as he likes them, and some great sasuages. Really good value for money, and worth the trip alone. I had some Thai soup, which was deliciously spicy and coconutty. We'd both made sure we had enough room for some of the cafe's amazing home-made cakes, the real reason for our visit. This time I chose an Orange Cake, which again was gluten-free while he had one of "Ruth's Cheese Scones". This was so enormous he had to take half away to eat later. Easily the best cheese scone he's ever tasted (and I got to have some too, and quite agree). My orange cake was one of those ones where the whole orange flavours it, and it was moist to the edge of sogginess but in a very good way. It was absolutely wonderful, and we'll definitely go back for more. We also discovered that you can take away cake from here, so we took some brownies with us and promptly forgot about them. Two days later we discovered the little box, and the brownies were as moist and full of chocolate as the day they were made. And the bill? Just under £26 for full English breakfast, soup, a cappuccino and a flat white, cheese scone, orange cake and two brownies to go. Wish we could find that in London!

This restaurant/cafe is in the most amazing community centre which was originally a school and chapel - now tastefully modernised. What a wonderful meeting place for the villagers. The cafe serves delicious jacket potatoes, soup and sandwiches and cakes made by ladies of the village - the best cake anywhere. All served by very friendly and smiling ladies. Thoroughly recommended.

An amalgam of 15th century chapel, 19th school and modern architecture, the centre offers a much needed cafe and community centre to the district. That's the good bit. Whether you like what the architects have done is a matter of personal taste. Some like it. Others feel that, while the derelict school and chapel were saved for posterity, the conversion was heavyhanded, lacks thought and subtlety and suppresses any sense of history or atmosphere.

This is the most amazing place! Small village on the Suffolk/Norfolk border with fascinating historic building (featured on the Restoration Village programme) beautifully restored and added to. We came across it while staying nearby and were fascinated by its story - for the history alone it is worth a visit and the food is excellent. We had coffees and cake one morning, and on the day we left we decided to go for breakfast - yum! It is filled with interesting art work and artefacts and history displays and the staff are so very friendly and helpful We came away with loads of ideas for improving our own village and its facilities. The people of Pulham St Mary deserve congratulations.

Happened on this lovely cafe when passing through en route to visit friends. The weather was foul, but the Centre was so warm and welcoming. We had delicious freshly made cappuccino and some of the best cake I've ever tasted. Hubby had lemon and coconut sponge, three tiers of fabulously light and lemony cake, and I had a gluten-free brownie with sour cherries in it. So lovely to have brownie, squidy and gorgeous, rather than the usual lemon/almond offering that most of us coeliacs get! Staff were friendly, if a little busy, but the place kept us occupied looking at the history of the building, which has an old chapel attached. Friday night bistro menu looked good too, but we had to press on!

I have visited the Pennoyer Centre twice recently, once with friends and once with husband. The food is freshly prepared to order. The menu is compact but perfect for lunch or afternoon tea. We had jacket potatoes which had a very substantial and delicious filling. There is a huge selection of cakes all made by ladies of the village - one of the best range of homemade cakes I have ever seen in any tearoom. The service is very friendly and efficient. We sat chatting for hours but were not rushed and the coffee kept coming. A truly delightful place to visit.

My husband and myself have been here several times but not recently! Today's visit was very pleasant, warm and welcoming, the cheese scone was the best we have tasted.the butternut squash and ginger soup sounded lovely but I didn't see this until after we had ordered.. A very pleasant place for coffee or a lunch.

At the heart of the Pennoyer Centre in Pulham St Mary is a Cafe which recently added another award to the many the Centre has won since opening its doors in August 2010: Beautiful Baking in the EDP Norfolk Food & Drink Awards. The delicious cakes (including gluten-free offerings) are only a small part of what's on the daily menu which changes with the seasons and with regular themed food promotions. On a Saturday morning I often drop in with the weekend papers for breakfast and indulge in a bacon sandwich with a barista-style coffee (sometimes on a combo deal). The bacon sandwich is always perfectly cooked and the kitchen team are happy to accommodate my dietary requirements (coeliac disease) - I'd also recommend the full English which is a hearty plate full: delicious and great value. It's also a great place for lunch and afternoon tea, offering delicious soups and seasonal fare and of course fine baking, all at very reasonable prices, served up by a team of enthusiastic local people. Enjoy!

One of the very best places to eat in Norfolk excellent food ,service and value. It's a really shame they don't serve alcohol. A glass of red wine would have gone down a treat with a beef pangang curry

A Roasting Good Time This little pub is a hidden gem. Their roast dinner is the stuff of legends. The meat is cooked to perfection, the veggies are spot on, and the Yorkshire pudding is fluffy and golden. The gravy? Divine. If you're a fan of a good roast, this is the place to be.

Such a wonderful place. The cakes and pastries are absolutely top notch. Also, usually find it difficult to get decent coffee in this country, but the coffee in Teles Patisserie is so good, really rich and flavoursome. Realky friendly people too. I'd fully recommend a visit.

My first time back for 6 years when Carorline still used to serve the "Naughty breakfast" in their old premises across the road. Now replaced by 3 others which includes the "Large breakfast "which is a feast. Consistent quality over three visits in a fortnight & a lovely warm welcome every time. Worth a trip all the way from Africa.

Dreadful ‘brunch’ experience Extremely poor customer service, one menu for 3 people, lack of interaction and information with a misleading menu. States they had a ploughman’s sausage roll which when we order we were told it wasn’t available. No signs as to what the cakes were, asked, the one we wanted although there were some on display were then ‘unavailable’ Ordered 2 diet cokes as husband is insulin controlled diabetic, 2 large glasses of coke arrived, I took a sip, and questioned what coke it was to be told she had indeed served us ‘normal’ coke….potentially very dangerous!! When the diet cokes then did arrive they were half the size of the original ones… There was also no ice. Cheese scone ordered, arrived dry and solid. There were only 3 other people in the cafe besides us 3, and we waited a ridiculous amount of time for food and drinks. When the toastee arrived rather than walk an extra few steps she lent over the banister, and 2 of our party to pass to me at the far end of the table when she could of just walked round and put it down in front of me. Overpriced and food disappointing compared to other local cafe’s. This was the first time we had visited and it will most definitely be the last. Give this terrible establishment a very wide berth!
