Fantastic food was yummy and delicious beautiful place

Had several meals here whilst staying at a nearby hotel, tried many things on the menu and the food was really good. The steak here is highly recommended. Great service too. And if you want to work up an appetite this pub is the welcome final destination of a fantastic walk from Cooper bridge down the river and canal network via Battyeford island.

Been here a few times and always been pretty good. The last 2 visits have been fantastic though. Food quality is top notch and lots of choice on the menu. Service is great and very tolerant of our happy but not so relaxed 2 year old, which is always massively appreciated. Keep up the good work.

Nice beer but food was extremely disappointing. The burger looked and tasted like it had been buried in a freezer for a few years and hastily fried then thrown together. Inedible

Just been here and worst meal I’ve ever been out for.ordered a roast pork dinner and was given a plate full of fat with 1 carrot and 1 and half roast potatoes the whole plate was only a few mouth fullls. staff was very rude and not a care in the world will not be going back!!!

My partner ordered Hunter's chicken, the menu specified it was chicken breast with cheese and BBQ sauce, no mention of bacon. It arrived with bacon on, he told the server the menu didn't mention bacon and he didn't want it as he doesn't eat bacon, she took it back. The bacon was simply removed rather than a new one being cooked. The chicken still tasted of bacon. Really poor way of dealing with it. Sides were not value for money either, £3 for a small portion of extra fries.

First time here and was expecting a little more, have heard good things, service was good , but our food was just ok, nothing special, a little disappointing. We were sat near to the kitchen which wasn't a problem except for the carpet in that area being black with wear and years of spills, trodden in grime. This was very off putting and was a bit smelly. I'm sure people sat in other areas don't see or notice this. But for our party of 4 it did negatively affect our visit .

Six of us we for my son's birthday. All our meals were beautiful, & service was very good. Can't fault anything.

This Restaurant arrived in Worcester in May 2024 and after seeing the Menu on the window we thought it was worth a try. The food looked limited but good value. The bottles of wine at £16 looked value for money so we booked a table. On arrival we were told there was no availability for the house wine and no time soon would it be available. The next wine was £24 a bottle. Costing us £48 not £32. The food is simular to a Beef eater menu but without the expected 50% discount.

Ive been here on various occasions both with a friend and with family. The food is always exc ellent, service great. Separate kids menu which includes a dessert for £6.95. Also its dog friendly. Great beer garden overlooking the River Calder. Would recommend.

Last time I came it was amazing but not sure if that's because I got to sit outside. The inside is very tired in the restaurant.

My mum invited us here for a Saturday night feast. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, which was hot and fresh. Service was exemplary once we managed to get sat down.

First time we-have been here. We called in today after a drive out. The pub doesn’t look much from outside. We parked up and saw the lovely beer garden nestled along the river. In lovely settings. It was a lovely sunny day. We went into the pub it was very clean and tidy. The staff were lovely efficient and courteous. The food came and it was delicious. I honestly can highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed

Pretty quiet. Had been recommended to go here but food pretty mediocre. Pie was cold. Carrots hadn't been cleaned properly. Mushrooms old. Next table had fruit crumble but without any crumble on! ie stewed fruit. When he asked about it the lady said it must have disappeared into the fruit...

Service is friendly interesting menus with tasty choices. Goos value for money

Waited 45 minutes for bad food. Ordered Korean chicken that was just a large dry southern fried chicken breast with brown muck on top and Thai Red curry that had obviously been boiling away for the whole day, soggy peppers and bone dry chicken. I understand that’s not ‘pub’ food but if you can’t make it, don’t offer it. Poor.

Went with a group of friends yesterday for Sunday lunch had 3 courses and everybody loved the food all plates were empty. Staff were lovely friendly and polite. Would definitely go again.

We came for lunch on Monday so it was very quiet. I had a burger with melted cheese and fried gherkins, my wife had a turkey sandwich and our friend had a pork pie with mushy peas. The quality of the food was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. The only downside was that we had to wait a good 35 minutes for our food so not a good place if you are in a hurry.

First time here and it very very enjoyable, my food was fantastic the chicken was cooked just how I'd expect and not dry. They were four of us and we expected the bill to be higher than it was, less than £50 for a meal and drinks for four people is a great deal and the views onto the canal were amazing

We enjoyed lovely meal and we were well looked after by very friendly staff! Plan to revisit on day with better weather to try the great looking riverside beer garden.

Food is cooked to perfection and well presented . The staff that serve the food are also amazing. We will be dining here again

A traditional pub on the outskirts of Mirfield next to the river. A busy place when we visited Friday afternoon, but there was a big football match on the TV. We ate in thd separate dining room and had fish and chips which was one of the best I've had. A large fish, tasty well cooked chips and mushy or garden peas. Well worth £13 50. Friendly, helpful staff, quick service. I'd definitely go again next time I'm passing.

went to the pear tree yesterday for my sisters birthday there were 19 of us they were very attentive and the food was really good and we all got served at the same time the food was hot and delicous our compliments to the chef and kitchen staff and all who work there thank you for our lovely evening

Just had a roast beef dinner have to say it's best I have had in a very long time ! Everything was delicious and the gravy top notch. Thank you 😊

Myself and my partner ordered 9oz ribeye steaks medium rare first time they came out 1 well done 1 medium well on their second attempt my partners steak came out cooked to preference although covered in pepper to an overpowering amount and my steak was nothing but gristle and connective tissue

Visited here on a very quiet Tuesday night. Our order was taken and the food arrived very quickly which indicated it was not cooked fresh. The meals were all re heats and my meal was inedible as the chips were burnt black and the lasagna was swimming in cheese oil from cheap cheese. Nobody checked our meals were ok and we could hear staff shouting and swearing during conversation in the kitchen which we could hear as the door to the kitchen does not close properly. The food was very over priced for what it was and I will not return and would advise people not to bother either.

The atmosphere was very rowdy as the football was on the big screen We were greeted at the entrance to 3 gents f-ing & jeffing. The service was slow to say the least and the sunday lunch was not what you would expect after reading the menu. The meat was mostly fat and the potatoes realy dry. Probably more of a pub than a restairant.

Great pub , restaurant too. The food is amazing . Some of the Thai dishes are really nice and authentic. Highly recommend the pear tree for a great pint and a bite to eat .

Once again we had an excellent meal, and good service. The menu has a good selection for all tastes and at a very reasonable price.

First time eating there, the food was very nice, not a lot of veg and my dessert of profiteroles were average and the icecream was crystallised (not sure if that was meant to be that way)and there were 11 of us and one of the meals got mixed up, and there was an issue with the deposit paid, everything was sorted and we had a great time

I've been coming to this place for. While now, so here is my review. Food is great and hand crafted from scratch. You can easily tell cheff experience from the begging to end of menu. This place features one of the very best staff service ever seen in a pub. Friendly atmosphere and a really fresh vibe going on. Place host multiple events, and it can host a lot of people at the same time. With an amazing view of the river, this place has a beer garden as beautifully as it can get. Place is safe to drink without having to worry about anything people here rarely fight or take the piss Easy to arrange party's and events with the managers as well. Decor changes during seasons. Drink variaty is abundant

After a disappointment at the Old Mill, the Pear Tree was a godsend! Lovely Yorkshire hospitality only rivalled by the traditional food served with a smile and on proper satisfying portions. The ladies serving were lovely and prompt. The place is clean and rustic at the same time. Don’t miss it!

Thai food is well worth a try, other food is good too. Amazing beer garden with lovely views of the river.

Went 2 times during a business trip, the service was really quick, waiters and waitresses were nice and polite, good food for correct prices, and good recommendations for the beers! Will definitely come back.

Hsend it y could send it out the worst burnt meal ever had ale pie did not have mashed potatoes so had chips burnt pie black round edge chips the Same came three weeks ago every thing. Grate how thay could send it out nevecome again

This pub didnt look much from the outside, but we didnt know the area and just needed some food. It had some good reviews and looked to have a nice beer garden at the back so we thought we would try it. We sat inside and it wasnt great. It took a while for anyone to take our order, and we had to go and find menus and drinks at the bar ourselves, despite other tables having table service. We were seated in the small dining room at the back, which desperately needs an update! Non of the decor goes together, its all very ugly and shabby. I think it was lilac glitter wallpaper, a bad paint job, and then some old pub style stuff. Just a mess really. So we finally managed to put our food order in, while realising we had made a mistake and hoping that the food would at least be the saving grace, but it wasn't. The chips were the only part I could really eat. The marinade on the chicken gyro wasn't good at all, and really more of an asian style, definatly didnt go with the taziki. The kids meals weren't great and neither was my partners chicken sandwich. I really think this pub would benefit from a re vamp and them actually trying the food.

Great place for food on a sunny day by the waterside. Staff, food and atmosphere were fantastic.

A massive amount of choice on the menu(s). I plumped for the Pear Tree Burger and was not disappointed either in the taste nor the amount - a truly loaded burger. Great beer range incl ales, lagers & a great 6.7% stout on tap. Faultless service, many bar staff & a serving lady. A chilled out pub with great outdoor space ontop of the river. Eating in the 'restaurant' area or bar. I eat in the bar area as it was the weekend & the cricket was on the TV but either area would have been fine so can't complain at some drinkers fruity language. Will go again.

Our second visit to the Pear Tree and we weren’t disappointed. The place was buzzing last night. The menu is traditional pub food but there is also Thai food on offer and the weekly specials add a further dimension. We will be back!

We have visited this pub regularly for the past couple of years attracted by the efficiency and friendliness of the staff, good beer and OK food The food today was sub- standard in many respects and it would be surprising if it had been prepared by an experienced chef. When we started to tell the landlord of our concerns he immediately became confrontational and so we terminated the conversation. What a shame. We had already decided to give the pub another chance until this episode which put us off returning. No wonder pubs are struggling if they are not prepared to listen to customers’ concerns and to throw away several hundreds of pounds income over a year. Must say that the staff were as efficient and as friendly as usual.

Lovely pub, food was excellent as was the service. Staff very attentive but not in your face. Beer Garden was great but needs a bit of TLC, nice to sit by the river.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would do, went for a bar meal for the first time in years since I’ve been, it’s by far the best bar meal i have ever had it was absolutely amazing and a big size portion, in fact I have been talking about the meal I had days later still thinking about it now, I will make this my bar meal favourite place and 100% can’t wait to visit again

Not been for a long time but a poor lunch from previous meals. Burger bland, grey looking and tasteless. Chips pale and floppy and salad watery 🙁

Had the halloumi and chips - the portions were absolutely huge, I seriously doubt anybody is expecting 2 whole blocks of battered halloumi. Everything was a bit too greasy. Other than that is was great.

Food was beautiful and big portions,amazing pub grub. And it's dog friendly so my dog was loved and welcomed also. Will visit again

Was given a recommendation by a friend while visiting the area. The food is 10/10. The service is 10/10. The Sunday roast again 10/10!!!!

Lovely pub in side , & beer garden just at the side of canal

We visited the pub today for the first time as we were unfamiliar with the area and looking for somewhere to have lunch. We were not disappointed. I had the lamb kebabs and my wife the salmon. Not only were the portions huge and the food piping hot and well presented both meals were delicious and we both cleared our plates ( apart from a few chips which I could not manage). Prices very reasonable as well. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and pleasant surroundings.

Called in for a meal four of us and all really pleased with everything we had.

Lovely homely atmosphere that felt comfortable, welcoming and relaxed, seating was comfy chairs and not pub standard, food was top notch and prices were great, we had 3 meals for £34, the portions were massive, none of us cleared our plates and we couldn't manage desert (didn't see a desert menu-doubt they need one lol), staff were lovely, service was quick - we were asked to wait 15 minutes before ordering as they were serving a big party - might have been 15 to 20 people - think we waited 10 minutes to order and didn't wait long for our food which surprised me - kitchen staff must be really organised and should be proud. Massive tvs in 2 rooms playing football/golf (not my thing) for anyone that likes that. Toilets were spotless. Beer garden is a terrace that overlooks the river, looks gorgeous. I can't wait to go again honestly.

Went with friends for Sunday lunch. We all had Sunday roast, 3 of us had with meat, I, being a vegetarian, went for the vegetarian option without meat, same price but everything except meat but more roasties etc (thats what it was advertised as). It came & I got exactly same portion of veggies etc as everyone else, nothing extra! Don't get me wrong I enjoyed what I had but shouldn't get charged the same as everyone that had meat & I didn't! You should either give a vegetarian option with meal or charge less, shouldn't be charging £12.50 for a plate of veg!

I love this Pub, the staff, the Landlord, the buzz, the Wainright local ale, live music but mostly the Polish chef who makes everything juicy and melt in your mouth. Alert the Hallouminati, we have a winner!

Used to go years ago,moved away,called today as I was passing, busy beer still good choice,restaurant was busy,football on in snug and few in the beer garden which looks over river,so still as good as ever

Great food, not bad price. Nice position along canal with plenty of searing. Good selection of lagers and real ales. Has sky sports as well so can catch footy on TV

Great place to eat. Lovely atmosphere, plenty of choice, and not that expensive. Free parking. The food was delicious as well. Great outdoor seating area to eat at. Unfortunately, we went in the evening so couldn't make the most of it.

Just had a mesl with the missus. It was fabulous. I had the Steak and Ale pie and she had the Hunters chicken. Massive portions. Also had the chicken gougons and local pate. Again both fantastic and very generous portions. Service excellent as well.

Friendly pub with comprehensive bar food, a good selection of real ale and a formal restaurant attached. There's even a terrace by the river which is lovely in the summer.

I chose from the weekly specials menu, so my choices may not be available now. Having said I'm sure the quality will be the same. I chose courgette fritters which came with saffron aoli and a small side salad, they were very fresh and tasty, I'd definitely have that again. For mains I chose Halloumi fajitas, the halloumi and vegetables came on a sizzling platter, the wraps had been lightly toasted and were on a plate with side salad and fries. The fries weren't really needed as they added nothing to the dish which was very good. My wife only wanted a main and chose a fish butty in a granary roll with rustic chips which she really enjoyed. As well as the good food they usually have a decent range of real ales, beers, lagers and ciders.

Lovely spot with very friendly staff and delicious food. Kid friendly and they have a wonderful menu with lots of different type of food on it.

Large party of us & we all enjoyed our food. Bar staff did well, considering they were understaffed just before Christmas, which seemed the case almost everywhere.

Had Christmas day lunch, the food was amazing, with large portions. Staff were warm and friendly, can honestly say it was the best Christmas lunch out so far. Thank you to all the staff for making it such a great day. I wish all the staff a Happy New Year! 😊 x

Bad customer service. We have heard good things about this pub so we went in for a drink. My girlfriend wanted to order some chips with our drinks but the bar staff said they don’t do food at the bar area. We were annoyed because they served three tables with food after that at the bar area. Just say you are busy and can’t take any more orders than say we don’t serve food at the bar area. Totally ruined our visit. Please train your staff properly!

This was our first visit and it was a proper treat. Garlic mushrooms were mega and plentiful. I had the lamb kebab and there was loads, very tasty and different from anywhere else I've been. Himself had the pear tree burger and for the first time ever he couldn't finish it all and he couldn't manage afters! Friendly staff, we weren't rushed and great choice and value. It's now on our list of favourite places.
