The Oval Fish Bar in Bexley

I work long days and nights as a nurse so was really looking forward to my fish and chips dinner but sadly it wasn’t up to scratch, my fish was quite mushy inside didn’t look bright while and falling apart like I’ve had at other places, my chips were seriously overcooked brown and stone cold, and my pickled onion was mushy and looked a bit grey so all in all I didn’t get to have my dinner and had to spend another half hour or making something at home so not a happy customer and won’t be ordering from here again which is a shame as I went by all the good reviews. Just a waste of money

Best fish and chips ive had in ages. Chips are cooked properly and dont come in that horrible anemic colour thats off putting and fish always tastes fresh with thin crispy batter. Staff here are really friendly and inviting and couldnt praise this place high enough!

I’ve been coming here for a while every Friday for me and my family , I normally get haddock but this time I decided to change to the chicken burger and wow I was amazed the bun was nice and soft and the chicken was nice and crispy , chips were also unreal.

Terrible, chips were not very nice and i recieved a burnt/dry/very thin chicken burger, the lettus was brown and i have to put it together myself as it was chucked together with no care. my wife had a veg string roll that she couldn't eat it was full of onion with 2/3 peas in it. Waste of money. Would definatly go 3 mins down the road to sea bream, their chicken burgers are fantastic ( they were shut ) I would not be going here again and I'm annoyed I wasted my money here

Always lovely freshly cooked fish, would highly recommend as this is best fish shop in the area.

Great chips which are well seasoned and prepared! Have to say the prices seem a little bit high sometimes but then the portions of chips are pretty generous so I guess that makes it alright. Regularly get my chips from here and will continue to do so.

To me this is the best inland fish and chips bar I have eaten from. The fish and chips cooked very well, the fish falls apart once you cut into the batter. Also do a a curry roll that goes down very well. The Manager is a top guy as are the rest of his staff. Fully recommend it for a take away.

My families food did not even arrive, the restaurant did not answer their phones. Absolutely awful. I wouldn't recommend if you actually want you food!

Bought large cod and chips to share - waited for it to be cooked from scratch - about 15 minutes - and it was beautiful.

Our regular Friday fish and chip shop best in the area gets busy, you can park outside or near by.

The staff are so friendly and the food is outstanding.

It's okay, but had to mark it down due to inconsistency in portions. Order three identical meals and there was a significant difference between them in the quantity of chicken and spicy wedges. Food was okay, tasty and a reasonable temperature and staff were pleasant enough. Sadly won't be going back as it was expected that each meal would be enough for each person and that wasn't the case.

Always a good place for Fish and Chips

Great fish and chips, reasonably priced. Can be a bit of a queue on Friday evening but you never have to wait that long.
