Lovely crispy tasty fish, chips were nice too

Disappointed took ages to arrive and it’s freezing cold

Ordered 2 sausage in batter and 1 pickled onion. Got 1 sausage in batter and 2 pickled onions. Curry sauce was stone cold….rest was hot but looked like they had been cooked sometime.

Delicious. Delivered hot and fresh. Loved the salad for the burger was separately packed for my fussy child!

Lovely food. Fresh, perfectly cooked, nice and hot. Some of the best cod and chips I’ve ever had and very reasonably priced. I can’t recommend highly enough.

I had a delivery of large cod, chips and mushy peas. Simply lovely! It arrived fresh, hot and perfectly cooked. The chips were classic chip shop and very tasty and the fish was beautifully white and flaky, tasting very fresh and perfectly battered. I thought the price was very reasonable for a generous portion and I can recommend the Oval Fish Bar without hesitation.

When I got home portions were good ..£0 …Large cod & £2. Chips. Service Good 👍 When I ate it, the batter tasted 👅 of old oil. :@…Chips not so much. 6/10 for the fish not the batter:0/10 for it!! (((….Would not buy from here again. 1st 🥇 is :-Old Twn chipie9/10 2nd 🥈 Bedwell chipie..9/10 .

I live right by here and i prefer to drive to a different fish and chip shop as it’s not great. I had a battered sausage from here and it was honestly disgusting and scabby and I find their chips really soggy and unappealing. Room for improvement here!

I work long days and nights as a nurse so was really looking forward to my fish and chips dinner but sadly it wasn’t up to scratch, my fish was quite mushy inside didn’t look bright while and falling apart like I’ve had at other places, my chips were seriously overcooked brown and stone cold, and my pickled onion was mushy and looked a bit grey so all in all I didn’t get to have my dinner and had to spend another half hour or making something at home so not a happy customer and won’t be ordering from here again which is a shame as I went by all the good reviews. Just a waste of money

Best fish and chips ive had in ages. Chips are cooked properly and dont come in that horrible anemic colour thats off putting and fish always tastes fresh with thin crispy batter. Staff here are really friendly and inviting and couldnt praise this place high enough!

This is the best fish and chip shop. The food is always 10/10, the delivery time is 10/10 and the driver who delivers actually works at the fish shop and is very nice. Overall so happy and cannot recommend this enough!!!

I’ve been coming here for a while every Friday for me and my family , I normally get haddock but this time I decided to change to the chicken burger and wow I was amazed the bun was nice and soft and the chicken was nice and crispy , chips were also unreal.

Terrible, chips were not very nice and i recieved a burnt/dry/very thin chicken burger, the lettus was brown and i have to put it together myself as it was chucked together with no care. my wife had a veg string roll that she couldn't eat it was full of onion with 2/3 peas in it. Waste of money. Would definatly go 3 mins down the road to sea bream, their chicken burgers are fantastic ( they were shut ) I would not be going here again and I'm annoyed I wasted my money here

The only criticism was the size of the plaice. At £9.50 they could have given my husband 2 for the price of one.

Normally really good but this time the chips were awful - soft and mushy

Fish & chips were freshly cooked not greasy and tasty. Portion sizes were excellent and we had a little note wishing us a happy Christmas wrapped around the gherkin which made the kids laugh. Will re order for sure !

Have never ordered from them before. Couldn’t fault the delivery time and the driver, very polite. The chips were really tasty as was the cod although the batter was very greasy. The sausage was really dry and a bit tasteless so yes we would order again but would stick to fish

Great chips which are well seasoned and prepared! Have to say the prices seem a little bit high sometimes but then the portions of chips are pretty generous so I guess that makes it alright. Regularly get my chips from here and will continue to do so.

Very good fish and chips plus ready right on time.

Couldn’t fault the delivery time and the food turned up well wrapped and hot. The fish was the main disappointment bland and slightly sour flavour, hardly any curry sauce for £2 either. The highlight was definitely an excellent battered sausage, and an excellent piece of chicken.
