Asked for large cod ,got kids portion and the batter was soft . Really disappointed used to be so good !

Used to rate this as a good fish & chip shop,which it is,but the likes of uber eats & now just eat let this establishment down,the food is real good quality,tasty & good value,the people who work there are very helpful,but thanks to the useless food apps,they are slowly destroying the wonderful food of BIG DADDIES

order from here tonight , sent my delivery out with other orders , in the opposite direction and took over 30 mins to get here and when it did arrive it was stone cold , i called the restaurant and they didnt want to know anything about it , some of the WORST customer service i have ever been greeted with . ive been ordering from here for well over 5 years and if this is how they want to treat customers , i will not be ordering from there again

I have been visiting Big Daddy's for over 25 years and until recently was very good. The original owner was bought out several years ago. I have been there several times recently, and have noticed that the quality and service has got a lot worse. The first time the 'cod' I had bought did not taste anything like the cod I'm used to. Also the large portions of chips used to be so good and plentiful that one portion was enough for both my wife and I. Twice recently, including tonight, the portions have been at least 50% smaller than they usually are. Prices have gone up considerably over recent months, but as energy and food costs have gone up I accept the increases were justified. But I feel that you can't have it both ways. You either raise prices or reduce portions NOT both.

Very friendly staff. Had cod and chips. Waited a while and saw it come out of the fryer. Got it home and the chips were clagged together and were soggy. The batter wasn't cooked through. But the fish was excellent. I ate the fish and binned most of the rest. I appreciate that the food steams in the 5 minutes it takes to get home but all in all, I'll go elsewhere next time I want a chippy tea.

Ordered a large haddock and large chips. Haddock is always made to order so you're guaranteed to get it freshly battered. Chips were hot too. Enjoyed by all in the family!

I ordered 4 x cod and chips at 5.40pm and was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. I ordered 4 kebabs from next door so i thought excellent i can collect at the same time. As i turned up i was meet with a que ( mostly take away delivery drivers) so i thought no problems ive ordered already so i will just wait. Got to the front of the que at 6.15 and said i ordered earlier, I was ignored for 5 minutes then asked again and said i would have to wait. They had not even cooked the fish. I had to wait another 25 minute's while my kebabs were getting cold. Not good enough at all. The chips were very oiley as well. This is not the first time this has happened either.

Hands down the best quality chippy in the area. They skin their fish before battering it and frying it fresh too. Does mean a bit of a wait unless you call ahead but well worth the wait if you don't.

Had fish and chips they were very nice, but the 2 young members of staff that work there are very rude and ignorant, I’m afraid that I will NOT be returning there, I will only go to a place where members of staff and polite and well mannered, and that’s one thing they are NOT. As my parents have always said” manners cost nothing”.

Sometimes I have to wonder why we display traditional fish n chips , just display get what your given fish n chips , I use occasionally but am now re thinking chips are hit and miss sometimes ok sometimes very poor but I want great chips every time as for the cod well the last few visits all I can say is poor. Fish and chips is not cheap so for me if your charging top dollar give us something good to review, I will now have to get in the car a travel further a field

We eat from here every so often and always find they are happy to cook a fresh piece of fish for you whilst you wait. I find quite a lot of batter from other shops makes me ill, but this batter is very light and never gives me indigestion. Very good cod and chips. Never buy it elsewhere.

Best fish and chips I have had for a long while. Crispy batter not soaking in oil and the chips were also very nice with big portions, Fish was skinned also so you could eat everything. The prices are also very cheap for what you get.

This is a very popular and well known local fish and chip shop. It does the best fish and chips in Bexleyheath. The prices are very cheap for the large portions that you get. Chips are in paper bags not wrapped up in paper. The staff are always polite, fast and efficient, you don't have to wait long for your meal. You can get your whole evening meal to go with a variety of fish, pickled eggs and gherkins and of course various pies, sausages, saveloys and chips. There are no table and chairs as it is purely a take away restaurant. I recommend this fish and chips shop to anyone visiting Bexleyheath or the surrounding areas.
