Master Fryer in Bexley

Visited first time in a while and as expected we were disappointed. Ordered on the phone and told 20 minutes will be ready. Arrived in 15 minutes our food was ready but told we would have to queue. Waited 15 minutes to get our order which had been put aside. Was soggy and not very nice. Serving staff nice but only doing what they are. Will not be going back

Ordered chicken burger, stale bum. Chips hard and greasy, hygiene, not very good at all, handed money, then walked over, putting the cheese in the burger without washing hands. Been coming here for years last time. Vile

Purchased cod and chips. The fish was freshly cooked to order and hence was very hot. Chips were nice and hot and good sized portion. The staff were very polite. You can order on the phone to avoid having to wait. Cash and cards accepted. Parking in co-op car park next door is free for an hour but you need to display a ticket. I would definitely visit again.

Always been good quality. Good ribs , fish , chips. Decent size portions , staff efficient tho sometimes language barrier means not chatty. My issue is that I’ve seen fish and chips rise from £5 to nearly £11 in only a few years. That’s simply too much. I accept things are going up but my pension hasn’t doubled in that time! Maybe do special offers ? I rarely go there now. Shame. By far the best local takeaway in the area.

Been here a good few times and had mostly good experiences until today . They were very lucky that they had closed by the time it happened. Ordered 2 chicken burger both extremely greasy and tasteless . I bit into mine to find a extremely long grey hair In my burger I know 100% it was not mine. Put me completely off an already underwhelming dinner will not visit here again 😠

This used to be the best fish and chip shop Ever, but the hygiene is slipping. While I was waiting I saw 1 of the women serving, wipe her nose on a tissue, then put it in her pocket. Then use the tissue AGAIN and did not wash her hands. This happened several times, with 1 of the serving women, and 1 time with the other serving lady. Then a woman came in holding a dog. The woman was allowed to hold the dog so it was touching the counter. None of the staff said to her that she couldn't bring her dog in, or told her to keep her dog away from the counter, because it was a food shop. In fact she asked for a chip for the dog. That was then placed on the serving counter for the dog. This is revolting behaviour in a food shop. I thought that it was illegal to take dogs into food shops, unless it is guide dog. This was not a guide dog.

Ordered from Deliveroo, had a few bits of my fish, chips and curry sauce and ended up with food poising. Seemed to me, old oil, feel absolutely horrendous and I’m on day 2 of food poising. Such a shame !

The food was good but they have hiked their prices unreasonably over the last 12 months £8.50+ for a large piece of Rock and £2.50 for a bag of chips daylight robbery, i used to be a regular customer but i wont be going back!

I still prefer this shop than my local in Rochester. It's worth the 24 mile drive 👍

Picked up a takeaway from here o one Friday, it was pretty busy inside but we queued and made our order. After waiting 5-10 mins I was told they only had large cod ready as I’d ordered small cod, and small would be another 5-10 mins. I went for the large to avoid a further wait but they charged me for it and I felt the takeaway was expensive to what I normally pay elsewhere. The fish and chips was nice, I just felt a bit ripped off

Cold Stale chips, cod roe Hardy any batter on it nor did the battered sausage,might as well just called it a sausage, this place has changed since it been under new management and prices have gone up too

Used to use this chippy all the time, but so expensive now. The same items and quality in oscars around the corner is £3 less. 1 savaloy does not cost £2.50 that is pure greed and they are grissly

Fantastic fish & chips best in the area.

I have always been to this chip shop and spent a load of money over the years. First they stop card payments to orders below £5. Not they have cut their portion of chips in half. Clearly don't care about their customers but just their pocket. Always busy so it's hardly they need to get back loses from covid. Will be finding another chip shop in the future. Shame as they do have nice food.

No nonsense traditional fish & chip shop. I've been visiting for 20yrs and the fish and chips are always fresh and cooked perfectly. The Southern Fried Chicken has a crispy and tasty coating yet is succulent. Coop carpark is nextdoor and has free parking making it convenient when collecting.

Best fish and chip shop by miles, food is fresh and tasty, portion sizes are amazing. Staff are welcoming and polite......Won't going anywhere else from now on.

I always go to the Master Fryer for my fish and chips, which is most Friday's. The best without a shadow of doubt, never had a bad bit of fish, always excellent. I usually have to queue but would go nowhere else. Cannot understand some of the negative comments, they must have been very unlucky.

Have had fish and chips here for year. Always been good. However today was very disappointing... Fish was greasy, dripping of oil and chips were like from yesterday. Can only assume shop is now under new management??

Just had cod and chips. Actually the best I have ever had, better than the seaside! Fluffy chips and batter and the fish was thick and tasty. Great team too. Top tip, phone our order and you’ll get it quicker.

These reviews must be fake! I ate here and ordered a quick fish and chips. Great if you like greasy tasteless chips and a piece of fish no thicker than a sheet of A4. Absolutely disgusting. Would never ever go back.

Great staff and the food is on par with any other chippy but this lots prices will be hard to beat.

Good food and good prices, love the chicken burger most of the time but had a few occasions of it being so overcooked I can't get my teeth into it and once undercooked...
