I work for the local DNO in Preston and we supply electricity to over 5 million properties in the North West. We had a power outage local to The Orchid and I needed to find a local business that was willing to help me provide hot food and drinks to over 35 properties (120 people) locally with somewhere warm for them to come and sit, charge their phones, etc, during the outage. Linda and her family were more than accommodating. They served breakfast, lunch, and even opened up to serve an evening meal and served engineers too. Thank you so much for supporting your local community during there and our time of need. The support you gave us at the drop of a hat on that day was beyond anything I expected and the local community was so grateful for your hard work. Thank you so much Rachel

I had to come up to Preston for a car seat repair and was recommended to try The Orchid Cafe Bar for breakfast. This was an excellent recommendation and it didnt dissapoint. The Full English Breakfast was very tasty in a home cooked style at a very reasonable price. I would also recommend their Cappucino's in a Mug which were rich tasting so a definite thumbs up from me. The owner and her assistant were also very friendly /sociable which made for a nice visit. If you are in the Longton area of Preston well worth a visit.

You know a top quality English Breakfast when you get one and this is it. Great owners, quick service and a brekky that can be improved on!

A large family seems to come here every Sunday morning for breakfast with a rather annoying young child. The child will scream, shout, screech and even throw things. The family seem to think that everyone else will just have to put up with this behaviour on their Sunday morning outing. This family is located far side of the cafe sitting at the long table so if you can’t avoid the above hours please for your sake sit on the other side of the building and bring ear defenders to avoid hearing loss. Apart from the above, the food is the excellent and staff are ever so kind providing a top quality service. Shame people have to ruin it for other people and make hard working business’ loose out on custom. Ps: Get your kids in order, if you fail to do so stay at home and stop ruining other peoples day!

Ordered a wrap for it to be burnt. Will not be coming back. However, my grandmas panini was perfect. Plates were not cleared once finished and waitress was sat on her phone at the table

Enjoyed a delicious breakfast this week. Not my first time ate the cafè and not the last. Tasty food and friendly atmosphere

Went here for breakfast with a friend thinking we will have a good meal and get set for the day. Tables were dirty with half eaten food on plates. We had to move all that dirty plates to another table that was fill of empty bottles Tha girl saw us but could not even be bothered I to get rid of the plates. We ordered breakfast and they put our food on the table without even wiping it down even though we did most of the work clearing it. Did not enjoy the food because the table was sticky. My cup of tea was dirty around where you would put your mouth. To dear as it cost us twenty pounds for two breakfast. Don't go there.

Always enjoy our visit here. Staff always welcoming and food always good and prompt. Well done and keep up the good work.

Just been here with my wife and have to say this is the best breakfast I've ever had being in the building trade for over 35 years I know my stuff about breakfast and I've got to say this was Heaven on Earth definitely worth the trip staff helpful and friendly brought my wife and we both thoroughly enjoyed it

We called into the Orchid for lunch after it had been highly recommended. Our expectations were fully met by the friendly atmosphere, the efficient service and the excellent quality of the food, all obviously cooked from fresh. Two clean plates were followed by a welcome mug of tea which rounded off a very enjoyable visit - and a real value-for-money experience.

Just had a lovely lunch at the Orchid Café Bar in Longton Preston, Very clean with friendly and obliging staff. No long wait for food which is prepared fresh.

This place needs some TLC. It’s slightly grubby inside (the mustard came out in a pot that was greasy), the quality of the ingredients is average or below (the sausages were particularly poor - that kind of puréed pork) and the door doesn’t shut so there is a perpetual draft. The service was ok.

We always enjoy eating here. The food is excellent, reasonably priced and friendly staff. What more could you ask for.

We regularly visit this cafe, we are never disappointed with the food or service. The chips are great! Superb breakfast and very accommodating for families.

Stopped for a late breakfast whilst waiting for nearby lighting shop to open, very pleased we did. Great staff, very clean, great food and reasonably priced. Fantastic.

It's the second time I've been. The first time the older woman(owner I think) did nothing but discuss a family fued. I don't know the family but I feel like I do now after sitting there for 30mins hearing nothing other than her astranged daughter! I recently visited again hoping it would of improved, I was met with a cold greeting, staff were rude, coffee was bitter and the full breakfast was, well, overcooked is an understatement!!Definitely won't be returning and will not be recommending.

Went in the orchid for a breakfast. first of all ordered white toast but brown turned up but that was put right straight away , the big breakfast looked ok to start with but then found the sausage was hard and the bacon as though it was all ready cooked and warmed up but the black pudding tasted of perfume,I love black pudding but never tasted any like this so obviously left it rest of the breakfast egg , mushrooms , beans , hash browns , tomatoes where ok on the whole a bit disappointing.

We spotted the Orchid Cafe as we drove past, there is parking at the front so we dropped in for a light lunch. The food was excellent & the staff were very friendly. The food was very tasty & well presented we will definitely call again when in the area.

Delicious breakfast- just right in the middle of a chilly cycle ride. Friendly,efficient and helpful staff provided great service. Thoroughly enjoyed the food we had- and there were lots of other dishes on the menu to tempt you. Have visited before and been very happy with food and service here. Happy to recommend- and looking forward to visiting again.

Me and my partner come here a couple of Saturday mornings a month and there's a reason we keep coming back.The food, staff and service are great. It's a nice atmosphere and its very reasonably priced. I often recommend it to people in the village.

Headed here last minute as all other tea rooms busy in Longton. Very quiet. No atmosphere. The food was ok. Nothing special. Flies were going all over the cakes on the counter. Should have been covered really. Didn't receive a bill. The woman behind the till just put the amounts in to the cash till and I was told a price. I like to receive a bill so I know exactly how much I am paying for things. I feel I was overcharged by at least five pounds. No baby changing facilities or space for prams. Will not waste my money here again.

Was a last minute decision to visit here and I was very impressed with my visit. Had a simple panini and coffee which was lovely and the service was excellent and the staff very helpful and polite. Will definitely be returning here and highly recommend it to anyone passing through Longton looking for a quick nibble.

I had a friend visit from Scotland, didnt know were to dine as it was over bank holiday. We chose to go to Longton at the Orchid, there was a full menu, plenty to choose from in a very enjoyable, friendly restaurant with good food thanks I will back again

We Ordered Home made meat pie and chips. After waiting 25 minuteswe were served a plate with mashed potato with a minute ammount of minced meat mixed in, on top was a small flat piece of pastry. It was accompanied with chips and mushy peas all was soaked in gravy. I took one taste of the mash and tried to cut the hard pastry.I sent the meal back and will not give them my custom again.Kenny

Decided to try The Orchid with a friend for lunch. The food was lovely and the service was good. Nicely decorated and very pleasant setting.Would we go again - yes

Visited with my 5 and 2 year old sons on Easter Sunday. Staff very friendly and treated boys to a chocolate egg each. Food and service excellent I can highly recommend the eggs benediction with black pudding....delicious. will be back and will recommend.

Just enjoyed a lovely Xmas meal, superb value, tasty, and far better than we expected! Highly recommended!
