We had been given an afternoon tea by family as they know we love afternoon teas. We arrived at our table to find it was quite cold where we were but seating was good.We had a glass of proscessco and our waitress served us our food which was put on our stand. Both of our goats cheese balls were frozen /thawing out .Our tree dessert with sponge was not overly great, while we were indulging into our food we both were still waiting for our order of Tea, in the end we actually had to ask for this to be sent to our table..My partner did complain and the Italian waiter did bring a fresh order of goats balls cheese and our Fruit tea. There was a lack of cutlery for what we needed and we also sent our cups back as these were dirty. Unfortunately because we’ve been to a lot of other establishments for afternoon tea this was well below our expectations and I’m sorry we would never go again which is a shame .Once again the lady at the till asked us our opinion and her words we’re “be honest’ so my partner did and by the look on her face this wasn’t a one off, Such a shame

Ended up with toasted sandwiches as preferred meals had run out. The sandwiches were nothing special and very over priced with bagged nothing special salad. Ordered chips on the side which were tepid and tasted reheated. No mayonnaise available, coffee was bitter. Considering the high price, don't expect to get own cutlery and individual condiments (the ones which were available that is). We shall not be visiting again.

Refused to allow me to buy a small meal and a coffee as I'm an adult. There was plenty of room in the café, there were no queues, the meal was listed on their menu, I did not need or want to buy a bigger meal.

Absolutely chaotic! Luckily we found the funny side today but we will not be returning! The staff we working their socks off but there just wasn’t enough of them, they were drowning in orders and actually wouldn’t let us place an order until the backlog had cleared (and even then it still took half an hour to receive a hot drink and a cake).

It was bitterly cold in there. Only one lady who didn’t keep her coat on. Everyone ate with coats scarves etc. Food is lovely but they need to have some form of heating in the restaurant. I shan’t go back till the summer.

We just popped in to look around the attached garden centre, and decided to have tea and cake. Service and quality was excellent, and the cafe itself was really nice, with one wall being a huge free-flying cage of multicoloured finches. Such a nice change from some of the rather sad tea-rooms at garden centres.

The new set up is great for a cosy meet and chat with friends. The old set up was cold and uninviting. Keep up the good work. Mike

Popped in for lunch yesterday, there is always a warm welcome, great selection of freshly made food. Lots of outdoor seating now too surrounded by a beautiful garden. I've had brunch lunch & tea with cake, but feeling I really need to book an afternoon tea soon 😉😊 A bit of a regular place for me, its always worth giving yourself a bit extra time to look around the shop & garden. I'm sure you'll have a good experience when you go

A fabulous adventure of Asian spices. Cooked to perfection by the staff at The Orangery. My Wife and I tasted and experienced a truly wonderful mix of curry dishes. Not to be missed. Thanks to Aaron Sam Kerry and the team. A great social experience.

Myself and my wife pop in here for lunch quite often and it is always friendly and serving good fresh food. The cakes are pretty good too :-) They make an excellent coffee as well. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

We have driven past the garden center hundreds of times and never gone in until a family recommended it. This is now a firm favorite. Whilst it may not look like much from the outside, the decoration inside is lovely. Staff are always friendly and willing to help and the food is amazing. Whether it is the vast selection of handmade cakes or the spectacular sandwich combinations we have never been disappointed. It is well worth the drive!

How better to finish off an afternoon to the garden centre than with lunch or afternoon tea at the Orangery. Have been here many times. The choice of pattiseries is superb. Generous portions, well presented. Have also had hot food and drinks. Only gripe was choosing a roast pork baguette on a Sunday. Was told that they keep most of the meat for those ordering the Sunday lunch, rather than putting enough into a baguette. Decor is quirky but comfortable. Always popular with lots of visitors.

The Orangery is part of the Arturis Garden Centre, but do not be confused by this. It is independent , and a wonderful experience helpful caring staff and choices from roasts to cream tea............ worth a peak !
