Great pub, great staff, great atmosphere. Best pub in Eastleigh by a distance!

Visited the pub Saturday night while the blurtones were playing. Firstly great band, bar staff were very helpful all night and service was excellent. The pub was very clean and tidy and I would highly recommend visiting this pub if you are ever in the Eastleigh area.

I haven't been to this pub in about 11 years. Nice beer. Loved the garden in the sunshine. It has changed over time. I enjoyed the memories.

Visited the pub today after around nine months not being in town. Nice to see the pub has still maintained its clean standards inside. Staff were great I believe it was Taylor servicing polite and very engaging. Would be nice to se the outside area recreating but I believe the landlord Terry is in talks with Marstons regarding this. Overall il be back again soon. Thanking the pub.

Came for the band on Friday last, a little quiet but staff very friendly and band was good. Good speed of service and the pub was clean and tidy very good size garden could do with a jig about but overall a good experience. Will be returning for another visit

Visited with friends for the weekend and sat in the garden on the Friday and enjoyed the 2 for £7 deal on moretti. Staff were very friendly and helpful with all deals they have. Sat and spoke to the landlord lovely man was talking to him about all the plans that he would like to do with garden and I think it would be very appealing for single customers and family’s. We will definitely be visiting again

Since kirk the bar manager left it has gone down. There now seems to be a disgustingly rude and verbally abuse blonde girl working there who thinks nothing of going ballistic at her fellow colleagues with language in front of family with young children and just to top that off turns her nasty vile mouth and temper upon customers. That added to the over priced beer ......if they have not run out of it .....advice I stay Away from this pub .....unless you love live conflicts between staff members

Shame the original bar manager left .since then the atmosphere and staff friendly ness has taken a huge nose dive .the staff disgustingly scream at each other in front of customers with young kids .one bar maid even went on a rampage and started her viscousnes on customers. The landlord seems OK....if you ever get to see him .the prices are a lot dearer than most of Eastleigh pubs .my advice is simple...re employ the original workers that made the pub enjoyable. Until then ...save your money by the over pricing and avoid watching the new staff go ballistic at every thing and every one ......avoid

Visited on Saturday 9th , good entertainment with a dj which brought a good atmosphere to a pub and was nice to see a local pub with entertainment. Will be going back on Thursday for their charity quiz night

My husband and I visited this pub on Sunday 03/03/24, it wasn’t particularly busy, The young girl serving behind the bar wasn’t particularly happy either . She was supposed to have left at three and by then it was 3:30 and nobody was Available to take her place, Apparently the landlord or Manager was upstairs asleep, So she kicked us all out 3:30 Slamming doors, turning off lights, the manager, obviously oblivious to what was going on downstairs I imagined it was quite a surprise when he woke up to find his pub was in darkness, What Carry on, Don’t think we’ll be going back.

Terry (the old school landlord who we need more off) is the highlight of a decent weekend out, come here if you want a great classic pub experience. Best pub in the area, friendly staff, friendly locals, affordable drinks and awesome entertainment. If I could give it a higher rating I would.

I visited this pub with two friends. The pub itself is very friendly and the bar manager ( if that's what he is- tall slender guy) is very nice. But it cost nearly £12 for 2 glasses of standard wine - 175mls. One was rose and one white. I questioned the price as I thought this was a reasonably priced pub. So we went to another but ( not weatherspoons ) in eastleigh and got the two same sized drinks for £6.20. Sorry but in these times I think that is quite a price difference.

Came here for birthday celebrations with a big bunch of close family and had an excellent afternoon :)

Best pub in town. Came in to watch the football, screen is awesome. Beer is a good price and the food was delicious.

Great pub to watch sport or play a game of pool! Large pub with a large rear outside area with plenty of seating! Sadly there is no food served here and the drinks are on the expensive side but that aside it has a friendly welcoming atmosphere

Since the new landlord has been in so much has gone on to improve the quality of our local including a face lift. Currently covid safe and compliant and a super evening suntrap. Lovely new bar staff, manager and landlord, very friendly and great with our kids. Always made to feel welcome no matter how busy

Has real potential to be a great venue, but doesn't quite cut it. It's a good place for the regular locals but as a local who wanted a change scene, it's not a very welcoming environment. I assume day of the week and time of day will play a part on this buuuut first impressions really weren't great. The thing that pushed me over the edge was the fruit flies (or bar flies), swarming around our table made the evening rather annoying instead of relaxing. Makes me think the place isn't very hygienic which is especially important at this current time. Other than that the interior is very modern and with some improvements it could definitely be a 5 star venue!

Place has gone downhill since new landlord, bar and garden is packed no idea on social distancing. Asked the landlord to get the garden to be quiet and got a blank stare back. Currently 00.45 and noise is stupid. You need to have more regard for your neighbors in a residential area.

They are not following any guidlines no bacterial soap no distancing nothing absolutely disgusting should be shut down

visited the Chamberlayne in Eastleigh today, 13 February, pub has recently been refurbished, pretty good job has been done, it's a typical town pub,in as much that it's a drinking place rather than an eating place, the menu is your typical pub fayre,

Nice pub newly refurbished. Good prices but unfortunately some loud mouth shouting and cursing aggressively spoilt the vist.

Visted this lovely old pub loads of times over the last couple of years since new couple took it over. Lots of sports. Bands. And very nice people running it and working there. Have had food every time we have been here. And it been brilliant. And good value for money. Christmas 3 course dinner was great.

Even when this place is quiet it is noisy with televisions covering premiership and European football juke boxes. A classic working man's pub conveniently located near the Swan Centre which gets pretty busy with its pool darts and live music. The beer is also well priced.

Visited and planned to enquire about a making a large group booking however didn’t even make it inside. Rude man in car park shouting at me telling me to move car as it’s a private car park - I tried to explain I was here for the pub however he ignored me and went off. If you’re to attract business whoever that was in your car park needs a serious lesson in talking to people! If you can’t treat customers parking appropriately I worry about how poor the service inside would be. Going elsewhere!

Wasn't sure what to expect but pleasantly surprised, visited on a Saturday night for a few pre run pints in October, having visited Eastleigh before I didn't even know this place existed but glad we found it, good service decent prices & live entertainment which was decent too, friendly locals always a plus! Will definitely return when back down that way next!

The Chamberlayne is one of those pubs you could easily discount as a place to avoid...due in part to the town of Eastleigh's reputation as a magnet for losers...(a reputation gained by tracksuit wearing families, twattoos and vape smokers congregating around EVERY doorway.)The Chamberlayne is bright, welcoming and staffed by friendly management and bar staff. The locals are friendly and make you very welcome...even on match days!!! On my last visit, 2 visiting away team supports, resplendent in their teams away kit shirts, were treated too friendly and jovial banter. Which was reciprocal and taken in the same light hearted fashion.But where The Chamberlayne excels and makes it special...is the astonishing prices. A pint of Stella Artois is £3.15!!!Next time you find yourself in Eastleigh or environs...check out this great local's local. You won't be disappointed.Sports on TV, small garden, parking lot, free WiFi and plenty of seating.

Went with a number of family members and we each recieved a high-quality meal. Plenty of food and quick service, with pleasant staff and a buzzing atmosphere.

No sólo tiene este pub sirve yo y mis amigos. El manejo por encima y más allá para hacernos sentir bienvenidos. Magnífica comida, especialmente los asados los domingos, 7 verduras, más carne para alimentar un león n el resto de los adornos. No vale la pena cocinar y tener pelo del perro! Generalmente seguido por música en vivo o karaoke. Algo para todo el mundo, y los niños son bienvenidos a las 9 de la noche. En mi opinión es el mejor pub de la comunidad en Eastleigh y larga estancia que de esa manera.

Hemos estado bebiendo y bajar en los brazos Chamberlayne durante algún tiempo ahora y puedo decir honestamente que nunca ha sido mejor. El jardín es precioso y tienen una variedad de bebidas, ofrecen una excelente relación calidad-precio y mantener la cerveza así que siempre sabe bien. La animación es genial, pero incluso cuando no hay música porque tiene un gran ambiente. . Gracias siempre tenemos una maravilla :-)

Visité los brazos Chamberlayne recientemente una noche de viernes con un par de amigos que viven en Eastleigh. Nos decidimos por este pub ya que tenían música en vivo jugando y no nos decepcionó.

El Rey Rufus hizo un trabajo excelente. Buena comida, buena relación calidad-precio y alegre; el personal eficiente. El menú tiene una variedad de opciones. "paneles" es ideal para una excursión de grupo y el pub está en la ruta de los autobuses de Winchester a Southampton, así un lugar conveniente para los conductores, así como los conductores.

We went to this pub to meet friends when my girlfriend who has a strong non Hampshire accent was trying to be friendly to the landlady and was met with a sturn look of distaste and ignorance, We felt very uncomfortable during out time there that we couldn't wait to leave, neither I nor my friends will step foot in this place ever again.

We found this pub by accident, we were looking for somewhere to watch the rugby on a Saturday morning. The owners were welcoming the place was clean and looked recently refurbed. We had their brunch which was freshly cooked and excellent value.If I lived closer this work be a great local, I don't understand all the previous negative comments

Didnt even want to go there jn the first place as I have been before and dont like the aggresive and rude atmosphere in there. I was meeting a friend on this occasion before heading out for a meal with other friends.I have been there before and, although the car park is small and awkward, had never been charged for parking there. I was literally there for 40 minutes before leaving and for some reason have just received a parking fine in the post!I phoned up to ask about this and the rude woman sounded blunt and almost as if she was fed up of getting phone calls about this so didnt want to talk to me.Will never be going back there. Horrible attitude, ridiculous fine.

im allergic to dogs and the dogs in this pub are all over you despite a request to bar staff. the food is greasu spoon quality and the carpark has a parking eye which unless you know about and register with the bar staff you recieve parking fines from a very aggressive company. Each to their own if you like a pub that feels lived in then this is for you.

Parked in the car park, went in to look at the menu, nothing suitable, so left again straight away. Now received £100 parking charge from Parking Eye for "staying longer than authorised". Our annual spend with the Marston pub group is considerable, but no more after this event. Be warned!

AVOID AT ALL COST!!!After buying a ticket from a ticket machine 2 meters away (located on the street) from where I was parked was told on my return that that ticket is not valid on their car park and that I need to be their customer to qualify for 3 hours parking.The lady behind the bar (not very polite) told me I will get a penalty. I said let us have dinner, we are 5 people, that will qualify is for a free 3h parking. She said "no, too late now"Everything was a bit doggy. She looked more interested in making quick money with the penalty rather then serving food. It is sad that we live in a world where which parking eye system is "legal".

The sole barmaid in this very large pub welcomed us by saying "I hope you don't want food, the chef hasn't turned up". Luckily we were only there for a drink. We were thinking about taking on a Marstons pub and wanted to check out a couple. This particular venue is a "sports pub" and boy did we know it. The volume on the TV was so loud it was impossible to hold a conversation. The pub itself is centrally located with a big garden area and a car park. And that's the end of the good stuff. Since our visit in October my husband ha been harassed by the company operating the parking area as, allegedly, he was parked illegally. A huge notice states that the car park is for patrons of the pub, which we quite clearly were. Such aggressive money demanding tactics are outrageous whether operated by the pub or their representatives. We'll certainly never go back and will not recommend this place to anyone else.

Many years ago I used to meet friends here at lunch time - so I thought a trip may remind me of my youth days. Its changed a lot, its now a brighter place than I remember. Good selection of ales, food is served but I didn't sample. Brought back some memories but don't think I will return.

Found the particular member of staff very rude and abrupt almost like they didn't want u there when asked to put the reg of my vehicle into the parking eye stapled and said "u only got three hours " used to come here all the time shan't be again

Not a place I will be returning to in a hurry. Place looks a lot better then it used to be but place attracts a lot of chavs. Atmosphere isn't great unless you out with a big group of you.
