10 of us went along to see The Lavelles dinner show. It was a great value visit, we had a night in the Ellington Lodge Hotel, a fabulous three course dinner, the show and dancing till 12.30am and a tasty breakfast. The food was really excellent with several choices, served fresh and hot to the whole table. We were all impressed with the quality and value. The show was great and there is a small dance floor which we all enjoyed using! A good night out for any celebration.

Attended the George Micheal tribute night. On arrival there was an issue with our booking but the hotel receptionist was calm, polite and resolved the issue quickly. Rooms are clean, poor quality pillows and quilts. The event was great, the food was fantastic for such a big venue, great choice, hot and tasty. The only issue was all dining tables at the back had a very restricted view when the non dinners stood at the bar when the show started. We felt this was rather unfair. The show was fantastic. The aftershow dj loved the sound of his own voice and did not play to the audience there. Despite the few negatives we had a great night.

Very friendly staff and the front of house service you cannot fault. 3 course dinner was a disaster though. 1st course the Pate French toast was harder than cement and actually broke a front tooth on & the 2nd course Duck I think was a Mitchellin Rubber Duck which just managed to eat half way through & needed a power saw rather than a knife. The very friendly and courteous front of house member of staff was very apologetic for the broken tooth incident and offered a free drink which we accepted in good spirits as the food was not a reflection on their service. The Stylistics were brilliant and made the whole evening worthwhile even though I dread to see what the dentist bill will be.

Drinks priced as you would expect @£26 for a bottle of Merlot. The band were brilliant and the whole evening was thoroughly enjoyable. We will definitely be coming back again

I can’t express how terrible welcoming the new year at this gala evening at the Concord, we would have had a better evening at home watching the TV! Too many tables squeezed into a shoddy, dangerous room, a health and safety officer would have a field day. Overpriced and oversold and did not deliver on anything. Just awful. Went to see the American four tops, Venue badly organised people sitting on stools next to the bar leaving a small area of the bar for people to order drinks, place is packed with tables for people dining leaving very little room for everyone else. Sound system needs updating as unless your near the stage sound is poor second time here doesn't look like there will be a third. Also the announcement before the band came on that anyone videoing or taking photos will be asked to leave seemed a little OTT.

The bar prices were extortionate £18.00 for two shorts. Now the entertainment was another level, two singers that were singing along to 80s/90s music and was worse that rubbish. DISABILITY AWARENESS. After requesting wheelchair access at point f booking in July, I called the venue two days prior to confirm & was assured by staff there would be no problem. On arrival I was faced with immediate danger due to many breaches of H&S and fire regulations. This saw me be tipped out of my wheelchair & have to use my leg to brace, taking the weight of myself and wheelchair. Due to the lack of safety standards, accessibility or any provision of reasonable adjustments as per the equality act 2010 I was forced to 'drive' my electric wheelchair into oncoming traffic over a bridge into the car park in darkness with two random members of the public to kindly assist. . On arrival of the marquee I asked for the accessible entrance but told there wasn't one and the doorway with step was the only option. The staff member stated 'well no one else with a wheelchair has ever had a problem', which I neither believe nor find acceptable . I asked if there was a portable ramp but was shrugged at. By now I was embarrassed as other guests were having to squeeze past me whilst I was left outside freezing in wind and rain plus the entire room of people could see and hear what was going on and my having to explain my capacity etc. I asked to speak to a manager but told he was busy. Other audience members were now asking if they could help and although very kind it was mortifying and not there responsibility. My companion again asked to speak to the manager & now 30 minutes left outside extremely cold a man turned up pro-porting to be the manager. He chose to stand behind my chair where I couldn't see him and very gruffly asked what the issue was. I again explained the accessibility problems and that I had requested wheelchair access, his reply being ' well what exactly do you expect me to do? By now I was shivering and having to twist around in my chair to try and speak to him. I asked if he would be kind enough to come and stand where I could see him which was met by a loud sigh.I again mentioned a ramp to which he replied 'we do have one but its to steep to be used here'. I found this not only frustrating but an admittance that he was fully aware ahead of my arrival that I would not be able to gain access. Throughout this exchange he consistently sighed, rolled his eyes and laughed at my situation offering no help, understanding or empathy. He continued to insinuate I was being a drama queen and overly cautious in the use of my chair as others had apparently had no issue with the entrance and insisted the threshold was safe for wheelchairs despite an approx 10cm ridge/step. I explained if I was to try to get over it I would have to drive head on at my maximum speed which would result in damage to my frame and battery and more than likely catapult me out. By now I had become the entertainment as everyone was watching and listening. I also told the manager of my accident and several near misses but he just ignored me. I also asked if he had a risk assessment or accessibility statement which he refused to answer, Eventually agent, not a staff member came forward with two mental sections of the dance-floor which he then used as a makeshift ramp. By now I was becoming visibly upset and wanting to just get in and 'disappear', By pure luck this gents plan worked and I was eventually able to get into the room. The manager immediately vanished.. Once in the room we were gruffly told 'your not allowed to sit there' despite me stating I would not be able to see. I also asked where the disabled loo was but told there wasn't one for the marquee but one in the hotel which I couldn't get too! Throughout the entire time I was shown no understanding and indeed the comments. statements and treatment toward my disability were at best rude and unprofessional. However, in truth the attitude. comments, behaviours I perceive were completely bullish and discriminating. I was now left in a room with no access to a toilet nor emergency escape route as the temporary ramp had again been removed. I firmly believe that the owners and management of the establishment failed in ensuring my safety and basic rights as per the equality act 2010 which states that those with disability should not be disadvantaged nor treated differently due to a protected characteristic. The whole site is dangerous for all due to its disrepair but for those with any mobility, sight or cognitive issue is particularly dangerous. This is something the establishment have had reports of by other guests over a extended time but have not addressed. It appears the interior is now well passed its best and what was once by all accounts a gem of a place, been run into steep decline by management who seemingly think themselves better than their customers and above the regulations and governance set out by law. In summary my advice would be to avoid at all costs.

From the outside the venue is smart and well kept, has an air of “oh this is going to be nice” about it. Step inside and boom, it’s 1992 and your back in Butlins. We went to see BagaChips for a drag show and I have to say the act was great the venue was basic and lacking. The main show was as on a stage crammed in at the front, speaking of crammed, they pack this venue like a cattle market, so be prepared to get very cosy with the guests sitting next to you. We were originally plonked at the back, in some random chairs with people who were eating their dinner …. No thanks. The staff were very good I will say and moved all of us out of the dining area and to the stage left. All of the chairs look and feel tired, stains and chipped legs, the carpets have seen better days and it has that feel of being tired and rundown. For anyone at the back, how they could even see the stage is beyond me, there are so many pillars and bits of equipment in the way that the view must have been so poor. Toilets are upstairs so be prepared to squeeze out of the packed show room and then head upstairs and do the same upon your return. How does this venue make money? The bar - order at your own risk, I totally understand mark ups, it’s a business after all, but some of the drinks are horrifyingly overpriced. As I say staff were nice enough, well presented and engaging which was nice to see. All in all, ritz prices for a Butlins experience.

It's OK but the chairs were uncomfortable, looked like they were salvaged from The Titanic and were crammed so tightly together that I nearly got accused of cheating as I was literally sat on the lady's lap next to me! There was a distinct smell of damp, mold and it felt like I was back in 1993. Service was not great, the girl serving was miserable, yawning and looked like she would rather be playing on the motorway. The location is alright but the carpark is quite small and if full, your screwed as there is no where else to park nearby. Luckily we got a space. All in all, the whole place could do with either a long overdue refurbishment or knocking down and starting again.

Having just been to see Amgelo Starr and his band I can honestly give 5 stars for the performance. Absolutely brilliant apart from some people barging there way onto the dance floor with no concern of anyone else. Unfortunately I can only give the Concorde Club one star . This is mainly because the room was way too crowded with people who were eating. This used to be behind the barrier but now encroaches over the majority of the room Also how can they charge £3.75 for a pint of coke. Finally , when I first started to attend the Concorde club I asked about booking a table due to a disability., I was told that this was not possible so how come on my last 2 visits the first 2 tables by the DJ booth have been reserved.

We unfortunately can’t make it due to family emergency and asked for a refund due to current financial climate and they refused to give it to us despite explaining the situation. We would understand if it’s a case we changed our minds but when it comes to an actual emergency it is out of our control and the fact that we are already gutted we can’t make it is hard enough. The venue really showed its true colours towards a difficult situation. Gave us voucher to use at hotel which is ridiculous as we wouldn’t ever visit again especially the fact it’s 3 hours away from where we live. Not happy, really upsetting.

This is approximately the 7th year we have been coming to this event, the last 2 years we have been members. We have always stayed at Ellington Lodge for the duration of the festival and up until this year we have always eaten in the Restaurant. Booking for the Festival This year, things were done differently which meant if you were staying at the Hotel that you had to book for the whole 3 day experience at a cost of £495. In the past, you could just book for the nights that you preferred to see the entertainment. Allocation of Rooms Again, this year, bookings were made on a first come first served basis with bookings open on the 1 September 2022 at 10 am. On the basis we were hoping to book a Garden Room in order for us to overlook the outdoor Snows Stage, despite booking at 10 am on the day, we were unsuccessful with our booking for a Garden Room. We were, however, allocated an Executive Room on the first floor that overlooked the Snow Stage. Food in the Concorde Restaurant The Club rotate their menu once per month and as we are regular’s at the Club events, we did not book a meal as the menu remains the same and so we chose to eat elsewhere in the area. Plus, a cost of a 3 course meal is £35 per person, this soon mounts up, plus alcohol. Having said that, the food is always very good, served hot and is to a good standard. Wine is on the expensive side. Phony Fest Entertainment Tables and chairs are provided at the outdoor venue at the Snow Stage as is an outdoor bar. We were not so keen on the acts provided on each of the days on the SNOW STAGE – well with the exception of Colplayer. However, poor guy was a one man band and so he did everything. MOLDY FIG – We spent most of our time in here and particularly enjoyed the Blues Brothers! Concorde Stage – As we were not eating in here, we did not see many acts we did see Tina Turner on the Saturday who was excellent. THE COMPARE It was a breath of fresh air NOT TO HAVE THE USUAL KEITH LEMON commenting on the Saturday as another guy stood in!! we just feel that he has done is time, the character is out of date and is not funny! Acts in General – we feel that the Club have a smaller budget for the acts as they all seem to be skimmed down, for example Coldplayer. To Sum Up – All staff and acts work very hard, most of the staff are very friendly and they go above and beyond. It is not a cheap weekend when you add it all up £495, plus food and drink. This will be our last time staying at the Hotel and if we do decide to come in 2024, it will be as day guests on the Saturday.

Where to start: Receptionist in hotel very friendly. Manager needs to learn to be more welcoming! Meal was ok but not really complaining as it was only £169 per room for 3 course meal, entertainment, overnight stay with breakfast. Very, very rushed. Food is obviously plated up already. As soon as you order your food arrives within 2 minutes. Whole meal over in 45 minutes. The 80s group we were expecting did not perform. We have a band who played dire music from the 80s, no Kylie, no Madonna. Ok if you were a rock fan, Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi etc. No explanation as to why the original group did not perform. Group of 7 of us left the venue at 11.30 we went back to one room to chat and nightcap. As we walked in the receptionist actually put his fingers to his lips and told us to sshhhh. Really! so rude. Within 2 minutes he then came up and knocked on our door and told us to keep quite that he had already had 1 complaint. But as we have had booked 4 rooms and the band had two rooms next to us we couldn't work out who complained. (we don't actually think anyone did). 10 minutes later, another knock at the door, a different chap, one who I recognised from the venue earlier, may have been the bar manager but dressed so casually probably not. Again told us to be quiet. We had no music playing and were just chatting in room 116 which was the further room away from anywhere! We said we would be 10/15 minutes to which he replied, no immediately. It was 11.55! The 'quiet' time starts at 12pm. We then went back our own rooms. Later one of the party thought she heard knocking at the door she opened the door and it was one of the band knocking on the next door she said sorry thought you knocked my door, within 2 minutes the night receptionist was stood by them demanding they return to their own rooms. My god, what the heck. What is this hotel all about. It is a hotel and a hotel which is attached to a venue which hosts loud events. To be told to return to your own rooms by someone is demeaning, controlling and downright rude. My friend certainly was not going to entertain anyone from the band, but even is she did it was her business not the man who thinks he's running a boarding school. The hotel is tired and dated. The smell of the river is pungent and the continuous ringing of some sort of electrical equipment was horrendous. Cheap but definitely not cheerful. Although the woman cleaning the glass doors to the Moldy Fig was very pleasant, smiley and polite. Maybe she could train some of the waiting staff from the evening before.

Me, my fiance and my family came here for a 90's themed evening with a 3 course meal. Food was delicious, even though the meal was a bit on the pricey side, it was worth it. The band was fantastic and the atmosphere was amazing.
