I come here once a month for a private breakfast club gathering. Excellent friendly service who join in the banter of the customers. A great selection of cooked breakfast items and plenty of it, along with refills of hot drinks. If this is the service and standard of food for breakfast then the normal meals must be good! Went for a meal with my wife Saturday 5th December. I had a bird burger and she had the vegan burger. I’ve literally had a better microwave burger and the fries / salad were also very poor. My wife left the manager feedback when asked if we enjoyed everything and she told her it was the worst dining experience she’d had and was just told there’s nothing they can do about it. Basically my wife told her about the noise which was horrible ( people screeching and laughing like hyenas cz they’ve had too much to drink ) and the waiters asking if they need more drinks ? Surely they must be able to see they had too much? Unless taking their money was more of a priority than serving a decent meal to couples / families etc.

My husband and I visited on a Saturday evening (5pm). It felt like we were in a takeaway after a night out. We both had burgers. My husband had the chicken burger and I had the vegan burger, both were dry and lacked flavour. The salad consisted of limp lettuce, onion and cucumber. The fries were frozen and oven cooked. This place has such potential, if only, they would put more effort into the food. I expected the atmosphere to be relaxed, however, after an hour dining here I came away with a headache. If you’re looking for somewhere relaxed and with great views try the Wilcove Inn or Carbeille Inn. I live in Torpoint and these are two places where I would usually choose to dine. However, I wanted to try something different and was extremely disappointed.

I have had a wonderful meal me and my husband both had the 6oz burger and American pancakes to follow well worth recommending.

I had a very good experience, social distancing was first class, and very friendly staff. I would definitely recommend.

Can't fault the food or service as we had fish and chips on a groupon deal which was tasty and cooked fresh, such a lovely location definitely return without a deal as the food was delicious

Came here unexpectedly whilst waiting for bicycle to be repaired (right beside the ferry lanes) . Had cups of tea with bacon sandwich and toasted tea-cakes. Friendly staff, great ambience and food in really comfortable surroundings with a view of the river. Outdoor seating available. Will definitely return and recommend - carvery available on a Sunday.

Lovely place! My fiancé and I have just left this charming place. We had a burger with chips and a lovely fresh side salad and coleslaw. It was great!! The building is quirky and clean. The staff were welcoming. All in all, a good find !! We’ll be back and will 100% recommend.

The two of us went to use our Groupon Voucher for the breakfast with glass of fruit juice had the choice of orange or apple juice and a very enjoyable experience The Fisherman’s Breakfast was well worth it and served by a very pleasant waitress and owner both friendly and made to feel welcome very quick service from the time if ordering and food being served we will be back

Went with my daughter and grandson who is not yet one year old. My daughter is celiac but had the gluten free breakfast which was superb. I had the full English, delicious.

The food is lovely, we had the full English breakfast and it was delicious. They are family friendly, they have and indoor area, a terrace ideal for summer and parking. Not expensive at all for the quality of the food served

Came last night for the family orientated 60th of a good friend. Perfect setting, friendly staff, relaxed feel, good hot and cold buffet and fairly priced drinks. Will take a while to forget the delight of the five year old grandson who could not stop dancing even when he had to frequently rub his feet. Our friend had a lovely time. Highly recommended venue.

It was a brilliant christmas lunch .table was layed out with crackers . The staff were amazing and made you feel relaxed and chilled .they meals were well worth the money and so much of it . For a 2 course for 16.95 was well worth it and 3 course 20.95. I would recommend this to people . It was a great afternoon thank you to every one .

We went for lunch and took advantage of a set 3 course meal menu for £14 the food was lovely, the staff were excellent and the restaurant was lovely, clean, fresh and comfortable, Donna and I will go back for lunch dates in the future because it was a lovely meal

One of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a while, all freshly cooked and very tasty. A real bargain especially if you get the Groupon deal we’ll worth it.

this is a very good eating place , meals are very reasonably priced , the staff are very nice , it also has a bar , and a outside balcony which is great to use when the weather is right

Just come back from meal at The Old Rowing club earlier today.

We visited 3 times in July. A carvery, lunch and breakfast. Staff are friendly and always check if we have parked are car in the adjacent car park. (It's private land not owned by the venue). Food was delicious and a great price. Plenty of space and the view is lush.

What a lovely place this is. We sat out on the terrace and had a FISH & CHIP lunch and drinks for four and it was truly wonderful with lovely attentive staff. Will definitely be going again. ********

Popped in for lunch on Sunday and the place was doing a brisk trade with plenty of people taking the carvery option which looked very good.

This venue has a lovely outdoor seating area, and that's where we ate today! Overlooking Plymouth & the Edgecombe Estate on a sunny day - with lovely food & a good beer! All 4 of us had the Gourmet Burger on a Groupon. We've been before & always thought it top class & great VFM. The food is extremely well cooked & presented, the beer nice & cold - and the chefs "Home made dessert" (not part of the Groupon, but a great add-on) - cherry & apple crumble really was lovely - & huge portions too! Can heartily recommend. A special mention to the lovely lady who brought our food out - so very cheerful, thank you.

Had breakfast there at the beginning of June and going back again this Friday. We bought a groupon as well which made it even better value. English breakfast was very good with large portions. They have a varied breakfast and lunch menu and the staff were very friendly. Lovely view too overlooking the River Tamar. Highly recommended.

Used groupon for a Gourmet burger and beer for 2. The meal was excellent and all was good until I got a parking fine for £60-00. The car park is next to the pub. There are signs saying it is a private park if you look around but when you go to a pub for a meal your mind is usually on having a good time and when getting out of the car you are usually in conversation, rather than looking for warnings. There is a digital machine to type your number plate into when you enter but this can also be easily missed and the staff, despite there only being a few people in the pub, did not seem interested in asking me if I had a car as I should type in my number. It has happened on several occasions to others.

I had my son and girlfriend visiting from Suffolk and we wanted to go for breakfast and decided to go on the Torpoint Ferry and go to The Old Rowing Club after friends recommended it and they were spot on. Great setting beautiful views and superb service.

This is a great venue, roomy with a fantastic veranda, overlooking the River Tamar. The service here was prompt and efficient. Our party if three all ordered cocktails to start, then various items from The large menu. All the portions were generous, and tasty. I have removed a point as one of the dishes (a chicken and ham layered dish) was sadly rather dry. Still, the rest of the food was great, and the onion rings? Amazing.

Ten of us went down for lunch back in May, we spent over £100 on food and drinks (debit card receipt to prove). We entered our reg number into their machine upon arrival.

Private secure car park, made to feel welcome in the restaurant which was very clean and spacious, having visited the Old Rowing Club on previous occasions it was very satisfying to note that standards have not dropped. Food was excellent as was the ambiance of the restaurant with great views of the river Tamar and the Royal Dockyard .

Arrived for breakfast to a warm welcome and prompt polite service. Food was excellent as you can see in the picture. The nice fresh hot Cornish tea perfect. Will certainly be heading back for more, now that my wife found her wait out.

We went there for a pre-Christmas family meal. The atmosphere was pleasant, food good and the service prompt and friendly. Sunday carvery is also very good. Views over the mouth of the Tamar, Mount Edgcumbe and Torpoint ferries. Would recommend.

Booked in for a meal on New Year's Eve. I had rack of Lamb which was excellent! As was the prawn cocktail to start and the cheese board to finish. Couldn't fault the food.

Visited for a Groupon offer on breakfast, (but I had failed to read the small print that it was weekdays only .... silly me!)

As a regular patron, I felt the need to advise potential future customers not to read the negative comments regarding the parking issues and judge this as being an issue with the staff and manageress at The Old Rowing Club.

After eating here during the winter we decided to treat ourselves on the way back from Plymouth. A couple of weeks later a parking fine dropped through our letter box. After ringing the establishment and speaking to a disinterested member of staff and finally the manager we were told there were signs (we didn't see them). At no point did a member of staff mention the parking situation (you have to "sign in") and it was not as if the place was even busy when we popped in. We will not be "treating ourselves" again! Customer service at it's worst.

I went for lunch with my 2 children, pleasant enough, we even thought about making it a monthly thing.... but not any more!! We ended up with a £60 parking fine as apparently you have to sign your registration number into an iPad on arrival. Nobody mentioned it to me during the visit, and the first I knew was the fine arriving.

We arrived as a group of four for the fish and chips offer with wine or a soft drink. We have been in the past and found this offer also the offer of the breakfast to be very good value. However on last nights meal forget it, the batter was well and truly cooked and on opening it found a very THIN piece of fish which looked to us as the tail of the fish. We mentioned this to the owner and she replied we buy a box of fish and we don’t look inside and I replied the chef must have seen what he was dropping into his batter.

I can't really expand on what has been said in the last few reviews as all are accurate. It is a gentle, soothing cafe/restaurant/bar with delightful, welcoming staff. The morning special is coffee and cakes which at £3.50 is bound to draw folk who naturally will return for restaurant service. Today they had freshly baked (large!) eclairs, yum! The club sandwich we shared was excellent.

Have visited many times; always good food and the relaxed riverside location is great. A choice of table or lounge style seating with a fully licensed bar.

We had our wedding reception here on the 30th August and it couldn’t have been any more perfect. Outstanding food, beautiful location and Vicky and her team of professional and very friendly staff made the day one that we will always remember. All our guests commented on how great it was too. Popped in here unexpectedly one afternoon and was overjoyed at the little gem we uncovered. The staff are super friendly and chatty and the place itself is immaculate. We sat and played cards for a few hours while the rain passed and ended up having some nibbles and the chips were spot on. Will definitely be retiring very soon!

Popped in whilst walking around the ferry area , had drinks only ,very nice indeed, good service, nice atmosphere, leather seats in a lounge area , tables in a restaurant area and an outside patio area overlooking devonport docks, would recommend, good for watching any naval ships .

Beacause the weather was so pleasant we were able to have our breakfast served outside on the verandah.The order was a full breakfast & the substantial meal served made for a very good meal.Certainly the staff are extremely pleasant & ordering was quick & served up without delay.All in all a very pleasant visit & will certainly try out the rest of the menu on offer.

This restaurant has a wonderful outside space and panoramic views out the windows of the Tamar, Plymouth sound beyond and mount Edgecumbe county park have been here before and enjoyed it. saw Groupon advert for carvery meal (and I didn't know they did it) so we decided to try it. as always a friendly welcome, convenient car park and stunning views. the carvery was excellent, meats perfectly cooked, veg was all fresh prepared and top notch gravy. at full price good value but if you can grab the groupon at 33% off its amazing value

We bought the Groupon deal for Fish Chips Peas And a glass of wine for two people.

Come here once a month. food is more than adequate portions very large and reasonably priced. The place is clean and there is outside space to eat and let children play safetly.

My husband and I had breakfast here on a groupon special and it was nothing short of spectacular. Great service , great food , great place. Can’t wait to go back for fish and chips or a roasty.

Popped here for a quick coffee and was really pleased with the quality of the coffee. One of the nicest lattes I’ve had in a long while. Will definitely come here again and try the food next time.

Went here on the bank holiday for Sunday lunch. The food was excellent with plenty of meat freshly carved and help yourself to as much veg as you like. Service was good. Large outdoor patio area if weather allows - with views over the river. Will go again.

Eventually went to have the carver after hearing really positive comments. We have been on many occasions and had the breakfast which is lovely and very tasty and value for money. Unfortunately we were disappointed in the beef it was very tough and chewy and unable to eat. When we told a member of staff we were told that a few customers had commented also. Then we saw the table next t us leave their beef and they also commented that is was very tough and unable to eat. We were very disappointed however we will try again as the food is normal spot on and the staff are friendly and the place is spotless.

Our son recommended we visit whilst we were in the area so we spent some time here on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

We booked a buffet for 20 people on Friday 27th April 2018. When we arrived, we are all surprised as to the amount of food and the quality. We paid £99 for the basic buffet for 20 people and it was far from basic. All of the food was freshly prepared with good quality ingredients and was well presented. All of the retirement party commented on how nice the food was and I would definitely book at the Old Rowing Club for any future work functions.

Just had lunch today with family including a 2 year old. Food was really good, we all chose the 3 course meal offer and came out very full and each one of us enjoyed our choice and said we would definitely go back

A friend and I popped over on the ferry from Plymouth and we were not disappointed. Staff were very friendly, the Full English breakfast was one of the best I’ve had and the views over the river towards Plymouth and the Dockyard lovely, we’ll be back!

My wife and I have just popped in and had a bacon, and a bacon and egg sandwich and they were really, really, really good. I know 3 really word's are a bit old hat, but it is deserved, just great bacon and the bread is sooooo fresh, TOP NOTCH.

Went here early on a Saturday morning.. greeted with a lovely smile.. sat by the window and I said we had purchased the groupon breakfast.. menu was still shown to us and option of having anything removed.. breakfast was very nice.. and waitress asked if everything was ok.. it was lovely but too much !! Great views and a great deal as the breakfast was £6.75 and we had 2 for £8.. served with orange juice.. will definitely come again..

Great setting overlooking the river, good choice of breakfasts. We were impressed with the menu and thought it an ideal spot for dinner. Really surprised to be told they always close at 5pm ???

Had a lovely lunchtime meal with 2 friends recommended. Very good menu food excellent Good surroundings very clean great staff . Toilets very clean chart on the wall telling that they are cleaned 3 times a day all filled in and up to date

Sat looking out over the water, lovely view, second visit first time we had breakfast which was perfect. This time we had a large portion of fish and chips nicely served with tartar sauce and mushy peas well cooked and very tasty. We were going to have deserted but the meal was so filling we decided on just coffee which came with a complimentary biscuit. Service was excellent. Would recommend to anyone

Had tea here on Saturday. Lovely food and great service. Staff were welcoming and friendly the child's meal was huge. Definitely worth a visit. We will be going back.

This place has a great setting and huge decking and balcony on the river Tamar. It's very large inside. The food and drink is very good at reasonable prices.

Went here with a Groupon and had 2 all day breakfasts with 2 glasses of orange juice. Greeted very well on arrival and able to sit at a table overlooking the Tamar, which was a bonus. The food was excellent, well cooked and presented and very good portions. Ordered 2 coffees as extra, good quality and hot. Would have gladly paid full price so will definitely return and recommend.

Spotless premises with staff that cant do enough for you but are never overpowering. They are happy to oblige any special requests where possible. Well laid out, lots of space around each table which is a very welcome relief these days. Sofas in one area. Beautiful decor. Great views across the river lending itself to views of all different river/sea craft. Has its own car park. Huge extremely well furnished terrace facing the river too. Second time of visiting here but forgot to do a review last time! Sorry Rowing Club! First visit was for a breakfast as part of a baby shower celebration. Superb menu offering a great selection of breakfasts. Many of us had different so was great to hear everyone saying each was just perfect. 'Rivermans' breakfast is superb albeit huge - personal recommendation there - I will def order it again! Couple of people had Mediterranean breakfast which made a refreshing change, also veggie breakfasts. Menu is online on their website. Second visit was for lunch. Fish and chip meal, beautifully cooked and presented. Again staff couldn't do enough for you. Licensed bar. Some gorgeous cakes there too so would be nice to pop in for coffee and cake. A really super relaxing place. Highly recommend.

A very nice building on the bank of the Tamar river a very good choice of food and drinks at very reasonable prices. We purchased a great breakfast offer off Groupon great value. Lovely food and the staff are very pleasant. Very modern decour with a great view. Great for locals or tourists on a first stop in Cornwall.

We had breakfast at the Jette, it was okay. You could tell from the quality of the food it was cheap and cheerful but then again you get what you pay for. Tinned mushrooms, cold baked beans and fatty bacon.

Popped in for lunch. Had 3 sandwiches and they were brilliant. Service was spot on and the staff could not be more friendly, got to try it, best Club Sandwich ever.

Four of us visited for the first time; we had the Sunday carvery. We sat next to an open window but I suspect it could be very hot in hotter weather as there are a lot of large, south-facing windows.

We paid a visit to the Old Rowing Club last week with our elderly Mother whose in a wheelchair and 13 family members and kiddies and nothing was too much trouble to make our visit enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food delicious.

We used our Groupon voucher last Saturday morning for full English breakfast with juice. What a lovely surprise this place was. It still has the old name (The Old Rowing Club) but I think it is now trading under the name The Jette. The staff were very friendly and the food was great. The view up the River Tamar is very good and the décor of the place is lovely, well worth a visit. All the years we have been waiting to cross on the Torpoint ferry and looked across at this place, we never knew how lovely it was inside.

First time here and we were not disappointed. We were impressed with the friendly and helpful staff. The food was good and very filling. Sat outside, what a wonderful location. We will definitely return.

Visited here a few times and will keep coming back. Had breakfast sometimes and also tried their Sunday carvery. On a lovely day it's pleasant to sit out on their decking with a drink and enjoy the view. Very clean and obliging staff.

We had a lovely table reserved by the window, looking out over the water and a very polite waitress. Went here today with a Groupon for a breakfast for 2 and a glass of orange fruit juice each. What a lovely greeting from the lady in charge and shown to a reserved table with a lovely view of the estuary. The whole area was spotless and very tastefully decorated. The biggest surprise was the lovely breakfast, 4 halves of toast and butter each and the breakfast was cooked to perfection and was more than adequate. The staff were all so friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. We will definitely return and recommend.

I have visited this restaurant on a few occasions and have found the food to be of good quality, and cooked perfectly. The staff are polite, well mannered and make you feel welcome.

Visited twice and had steak both times as it was the 'safest option'. The presentation of the food was good but the taste wasn't brilliant. Greasy onion rings, not the best quality steak. Was part of a large party and the meals were brought out of the kitchen either one or two at a time by a waitress who didn't seem very enthusiastic. One of the parties meals didn't come out so everyone else was nearly finished by the time their food arrived. I think that the jetty/the jette/the old rowing club (lost track of what it's actually called due to all of the name changes) is very average when it has the potential to be something much better.

We visited the Old Rowing Club for our 23rd Wedding Anniversary at the end of April. It was a Sunday evening and the carvery had just finished.

I booked for a carvery last Sunday (April 23rd) and I wasn't disappointed. The beef was soft and tender and the vegetables were all very well cooked. I will definitely be back this week.

Nice place and staff but disappointed in the breakfast items , deep fried basic sausage, tinned mushrooms and tinned tomatoes , such a shame they don't use fresh items and quality ingredients. This is obvious that profit margin to them is more important than repeat custom and satisfied customers.

Loved this place! The girl behind the bar makes the place to be honest, she so friendly, chatty and helpful. i suppose she would be one of the reasons we returned.

At £7.25 for the pair of us really good,, drew us in & will go back & pay the menu price , as what you get for the full English is good value, I cant wait for the sun to shine later in the year & sit on the balcony with my coffee & full English watching the river world go by.

Breakfast was a bit poor by my standards but was lovley waiters and drinks there havnt tried the dinner though yet

Had the jette brekkie, never disappointed when eating here from the breakfast, day menu and the carvery, all absolutely excellent value for money, lovely staff and very well cooked and tasty food.

Just had our 3rd Sunday lunch at The Jetty (or Jette, why the name change?) and I have to say this the best roast I've had for quite some time (don't tell the misses😉) Well done The Jetty-Jette👍especially the kitchen team!!

I have been twice to the jetty and had 2 very different experiences the first time I went for lunch the food was really nice and well worth it with excellent service however the second trip in the evening was a complete disappointment although the service was good the food was unrateable and as a result I didn't enjoy it and wouldn't visit again

We have used the Jetty on 5 or 6 occasions now and find it great the service is always friendly and the food excellent and the price well its amazing can afford to use 2 or three times a week.The view and decor make it the place to be. Will use many more times.

The welcome was warm and the food delicious: it is not the Ritz but deserves a 5-star rating for being what it is. We went for a quick snack on a voucher we had won some long time ago and ended up with a delicious lunch! Not only was the service friendly and helpful - it was also timely and food arrived hot!

First time at the Jetty. Went with my partner and son. The staff were friendly and attentive. The kids menu was good and portion size for the little man was great. Us adults had the carvery. It was delicious. Will definitely be returning.
