This olde world pub is close to London Bridge and Borough Market. It is down a side road. The staff are so friendly, you get greeted as soon as you walk in the door. Full of atmosphere. Our food was delicious and well presented. Good choice of beer's, wines and spirits. We had a great experience as a family. This pub is a must to visit to get a taste of an old London pub.

Such a lovely welcoming old London pub. The bar staff were very friendly and Angie in particular. We will definitely be back on our next trip in December for Christmas. We could have stayed all afternoon but after 2 pints of Sussex it was time to get back to the Union Jack Club to get ready to go to see Kiss Me Kate later. A pub for everyone and don't miss the opportunity. Hello to everyone at the old King's Head.

we escaped the crowds at the borough market in search of a more authentic place, and it's there! Dare to enter this small alley to find this traditional pub, with the regulars at the counter, locals and a few tourists. the atmosphere is family, the welcome impeccable, traditional food well served, large choice of beers, at a reasonable price. special mention for the waitresses who took great care of a couple who were visually impaired, they took the time to explain everything to them, to detail everything, and were attentive to them so that they had a good time and enjoyed their meal: well done!

We were stuck about finding somewhere nice to eat and didnt want to pay shard restuarant prices! I looked on trip advisor and spotted this place. old world music and a good range of real ales and looking at the menu quite reasonable prices. Tuna baguette with chips and salad for £8 which my wife really enjoyed and I elected for the minced beef pie with chips and peas on the specials board for £13 ... lovely and meaty and a generous portion but not over the top. My son had a 1/4 pound beef burger with the trimmings which he thoroughly enjoyed. When the food came it was all very well presented. I would certainly visit again this little gem which was hidden away in the side street. staff were very friendly and only insisted on payment when we had finished. 3 good meal, 3 drinks and 2 sides for £58 which i felt was good value for money concidering shard prices were upwards of £40 each but then you get what you pay for!!!

What we call a 'proper pub'. Nothing pretentious about it. Slightly dark but not too dark, good amount of furniture, with right space between tables to have distance but keep atmosphere. A cracking old style bar, with good staff. The happy hour runs 4-7pm Monday to Thursday where you can still get a £5 pint. Sport on the screens inside usually with no sound, space to stand or sit and drink outside in the alley. Never had the food but portions look huge. The crowd is reflective of the pub, just normal people who like a drink or two. My favourite pub in the area and there are plenty to choose from round here.

We held our wedding lunch at here on the 12th October 2024, and everything about our lunch was just perfect. The food was out of this world - the pork fat and scotch bonnet on toast was incredible, and the main course lamb, and salted caramel brownie for dessert, utterly delicious. The service was impeccable, with everything happening effortlessly and almost invisibly, meaning we could just focus on the occasion. We’d 100% recommend the CA for private events, and hope to visit again soon for lunch. 10 out of 10!! Thank you!

From the moment we arrived, Lawrence greeted us with a warm smile and took the time to understand my parents’ preferences—a challenge since they’re not particularly fond of British food. Terrible experience! I work nearby and used to go with coworkers. Their Sunday Roast is excellent so I made a reservation to go with friends on Sunday 22nd September. They offered me two slots at 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. I chose 15.30 and it was confirmed by Sonata. When the day arrived I called early in the morning to let them know if we could postpone it to 4:30 pm because my friend was late, they told me it was no problem. Our surprise was that when we arrived at the place they told us that they did not have our reservation, despite having a written confirmation, and that the kitchen was closed (even though you could see the plates of food coming out of the kitchen to the tables) and that this Sunday was its last day open. If they close the kitchen at 4.30pm, how can they offer us to eat at 5pm? A whole bunch of lies...they left us stranded and didn't bother to offer an apology. The bar staff was the most unhelpful. We had to leave the places without eating and the whole experience was a great disappointment. I will never set foot in this place again... And I absolutely do not recommend it to anyone. They don't value clients!
