This pub was just your fairly standard pub and nothing remarkable about it. However, it does allow dogs and has an outside beer garden. I didn't eat here so I can't comment on the food

Regular Guinness drinker. Well poured here & well kept. They don't make pubs like this anymore. Food is good. Lunch meal deals is a win

Best Fish and Chips in London, bit pricey but expected for the quality of service and food

This pub has steadily gone downhill. Lovely old decor and position. That’s it. It used to be a good old local salt beef sandwiches etc. I’m only talking the last few years . It now serves generic pub food designed mainly office workers and tourists. I used to drink here regularly but not anymore. The new staff have no customer skills to the point of rudeness. The new owners are living off the reputation of the old owners which took years to build. May as well be a Weatherspoons. Oh and it’s not cheap. Shame Actually we dropped in tonight on the way out and true to form the barman tonight was monosyllabic and rude to my wife. There is no history or reason for this service. Glad to hear an honest response.

Beautiful pub in the heart of Southwark ran by an Irish landlord and WOW does he run a great pub. The chicken dippers and chips were fantastic while washing it down with a Guinness in hand.

When back the the Clyde, busy night staff were great and helpful.

Where do I start! so when you book a area to spend time with your family and don’t even get a hello from the staff . Honestly crack a smile it won’t hurt maybe do a bit of customer service training . Charging difference prices for the same drinks not sure how that works. Also getting people to leave review to slag people kids off is pathetic and a great way to run a business , the kids had no impact on your business and was sat on iPads with there parents ,sorry it’s a inconvenience to everyone that the mens toilets are in a awkward place. when you go back to pub and ask them what the problem is you get a lot of apologies for what happened but online we don’t think the review is fair .

Had the area booked for 3:30pm and we were early and I just asked a question if we were allowed in and the woman behind the bar bit my head of, I understood we were early but normal people would just use a better way of wording things. A family member asked if the table could be wiped and she then rudely told her that she’d have to wait as the people just gave the seat up for them as they were elderly. We spent over £200 altogether possibly even more and certain family members were charged more for the same item than others. The lady with brown hair in a bun dropped a glass on the floor and made someone else clean her mess and kept rudely looking at all of us when we were trying to enjoy ourselves as a family and she was giving us dirty looks. The way she speaks to people is appalling and won’t be going back there as she’s a nasty woman with severe attitude problems.

Traditional old corner pub in South London. One big room and TVs make it a bit noisy. Range of standard beers and inner London prices.

Excellent pub experience! Very clean, warm, and comfortable. Staff are kind, knowledgeable, and courteous. Everyone makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door.

Conforme aux commentaires vus sur le site, le restaurant est assez petit, à peine séparé avec le pub. Commande au bar, petite carte mais suffisante. Excellent fish and chips à 17£...bonnes bière et vin, au prix classique londonien. Joli restaurant, assez typique et juste à l'écart de la foule. Simple à trouver.

Linsey, Michael and Becca were so welcoming and friendly, I felt like I was with family. Such a beautiful Edwardian pub with a diverse mix of regulars and visitors. Thoroughly recommend!!

Tiene solera, y como pub lo puntuaría mejor. Pero como restaurante es muy normalito tirando a bajo. Eso si, son muy estrictos con la edad de sus clientes si son menores (17 años)aunque no beban alcohol y estén acompañados de sus padres, a las 21:00 horas a la calle, o sea que son muy legales. Si vuelvo solo será para beber y/o ver deportes.

Nous avons choisi ce pub pour sa proximité avec les activités où nous nous trouvions et pour ses bons avis. La décoration est typique des pubs anglais et c'est pour cela que nous y sommes allés. L'accueil est sympa et souriant. On nous trouve rapidement une table et la commande se passe au comptoir. Nous avons opté pour des limonades, un fish & chips avec sauce tartare et petits pois en purée et frites ainsi que des saucisses purée avec petits-pois. Nous avons également tenté le brownie chocolat avec sa sauce et sa boule de glace. Les plats nous sont parvenus rapidement et étaient très bien préparés. Ni trop gras, ni trop salés, juste ce qu'il faut pour être savoureux. Le brownie était délicieux et très bien préparé, un régal. Nous en avons eu pour 46 £ à deux, sans taxe ajoutée (comme cela peut se faire dans d'autres endroits). Une très bonne adresse.

Always a good visit. Came at lunchtime. Nice fires keeping you warm. Wine and beer were good. Wish we had eaten here, they have a good lunchtime deal. UPDATE 17/08/24 pint Addams Ghost Ship £6.25, even more expensive than the pubs in Borough Market. 😡😡

Another visit and yet again I wasn't disappointed. The bar staff are so friendly and welcoming. As always John was on top form. I had dinner - the fish was delicious. I always enjoy my visits and as always would highly recommend anyone to pop in for some food and drink.

Traditional pub with a community feel. Was very busy - the barman could have done with some help. Also a shame that a couple of the beers were off but overall a good experience.

No kids' menu in strong contrast to what their webpage claims. Furthermore, their menu was even more reduced than advertised, so the options which caused us to choose the pub were not available. The food was fine.

An excellent little pub a little bit off the beaten path in Southwark. Always a really friendly welcome - a great atmosphere in the winter and an excellent outside area for summer. A proper pub.

If ever someone was asking me what pubs to visit around Borough, I’d tell them to avoid the George and other touristy pubs around the market, walk 5 mins to The Lord Clyde. It’s a great boozer with great carpet, nice staff and decent booze. Haven’t eaten there so won’t comment on the food. If in the area, do go, it’s a proper pub 😊

This is a great old fashioned pub with lovely people and very friendly staff. Service is fast, food good and more importantly, the beer prices good. Optional outside seating to the front, great in this hot weather.

Nous souhaitions passer une soirée dans un pub anglais loin des grandes chaînes. Nous avons pu le faire dans ce restaurant chaleureux tant au niveau de l’accueil que de l’ambiance. Nous avons mangé à 4 en semaine avec nos enfants et tout a été parfait et les repas succulents. Si vous voulez un endroit typique avec des plats traditionnels et un peu à l’écart des chaînes, je recommande !

A group of us arranged to travel up last Saturday from Romford to watch The Grand National. Booking with John was easy and they were expecting us when we arrived. There was 13 of us in total. We ordered meals at various points of the day and all the food was spot on. Beers were cold, we were right by the main tele on the left side, we even had newspapers on our table for the horses. Was a top day and everyone said it was memorable.

Had a great few hours here we were made so welcome by the staff and landlord.. great atmosphere food was delivered promptly no complaints.. will definitely go back to this pub thank you for a great time John the landlord great hospitality

One of the top 20 pubs in London, for me Clyde.

Buzzing on a Tuesday lunchtime. Was slightly disappointed with the choice of ales, but hopefully there will be something more to my taste next time.

A cracking little number tucked away on the fringes of the larger Borough and London Bridge area. Worth walking the extra if you find yourself in need of a welcoming and less commercial offering.

Don't get many pubs like this anymore - price has gone up a bit in the past couple of years, but always a good night out

Nice pub and beer was good quality. I would recommend. I wasn't happy about the phone charging service, called Charged Up, which I feel is overpriced, but apparently this is decided by head office not this pub. The pub owner kindly addressed my concerns. Next time I am in the area I will stop back in for a few pints.

This is an old school masterpiece of a pub. Superb beer quality with an extremely welcome emphasis on Tim Taylor’s. Really friendly staff and cracking atmosphere.

Classic old English pub, forget your American dive bar. Fantastic, quick service. The pubs is laid out with 3 rectangle sections, each with a screen to show sport. The six nations was showing.

Was walking round the area and stumbled across this wonderful pub. Genuine welcome, speedy service and made to feel welcome. Was only staying for one but ended up having another one. Michael gave great service and was very hospitable. Will definitely return when next in the area. Thanks for a pleasant experience
