We came for a meal, one of us had a steak that really was a piece of steak on a plate with fries nothing else, when the bill came they added a gratuity to the bill saying to ask when paying to have removed we asked this to be told it can't be taken off, surly tips should be discretionary not expected

This is a fabulous place to stay. We were in room 34 which is the biggest and it really is roomy with lovely views over Holmfirth, a quaint and pretty town with quirky shops and plenty of places to eat. The order ones amongst us will remember it from 'Last of the Summer Wine' .The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the town and is next door to the music venue we were there to visit. The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed and the food in the restaurant was good. The staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was relaxing. I would fully recommend this as a place to visit.

We have just got home from a lovely two night stay at The Old Bridge Inn. From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were given a warm welcome. The room that we booked was a cosy double. It was everything we expected. It was small but adequate for our stay. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There were plenty of complimentary tea, coffee , hot chocolate and biscuits in the room and a good size TV. The bathroom was also small but again adequate for a short stay. The toiletries were of high spec and the towels were large and soft. The food in the hotel was delicious and of high quality. The restaurant was always busy, which is always a good sign. I can honestly say that the breakfast was the nicest we'd ever had in a hotel. There was a great choice on both the restaurant menu and the breakfast menu. Thd hotel is right in the heart of Holmfirth so everything is on your doorstep. I would just like to say a special mention about Tate who was always attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. All staff were brilliant though. We will definitely return. Thanks for a wonderful stay

Went for lunch last week, we were one of onky 3 couples in the restaurant side of the place, ordered our meals which came and were nice, not once did anyone ask if we wanted a dessert, so I waited 15 minutes to see if anyone was going to ask us. By this time we were the only people in there. I had to get up and walk round the corner where I found a young man chatting with a child about what was on his laptop, I asked him if I could order a dessert and a coffee for me. The dessert arrived. I had to again go and ask the young man, who was chatting away again if I could have my coffee. He said he'd forgotten and didn't charge me for one. Food good, service was terrible.

Holmfirth is a Nice Friendly Place, WATCH OUT, For the Service Charge, Only Spotted it when I got Home, S.C, Charges are some time's used to boost employee's Low Pay ?? NOT a Happy Place if You look @ the Staffs Faces ?? Seated @ an uncleared table while the other side was unused, Once cleared & wiped the table was Sticky. The lady had a very Long face & looked very Bored with her job, Very Small Portions for sure, Just count the chips on the plate, (fish & Chips) 12, off Drinks Expensive,. Finished up Snacking in The Village as we walked Round, Need We Say More.? Love Holmfirth Been back this weekend, Things have Not improved really Small portions, tables outside not cleared away, staff with long faces, May be over worked & Underpaid, Card only payment.? Not real for sure... 😪.

Went on Saturday night before a concert and they were great finding us a table as not booked in advance. Had lovely meal and drinks, very friendly attentive staff. Top marks.

My husband and I stayed over on Friday 31st January in room 18. The room was small and pokey with just enough room to walk round the bed. There was cheap 3 in 1 Nescafé which we couldn’t drink. But the worst was our night’s sleep on a lumpy mattress. There was an adjoining door to the next room where ladies were chatting until after 1.30am. Of which we heard everything !!! Also there was thick dust in the window bottom. I appreciate there was scaffolding up all round to repair the roof but surely the rooms should have been checked before any guests arrived. I mentioned our poor sleep on checking out and was told it’s an old building!!! I was born and brought up in holmfirth so I know the building well and have visited downstairs very often but never an overnight stay before. I must point out that the staff, service and food were excellent after having an evening meal and breakfast. We expected a bit more luxury and were very disappointed after paying £160 which was not value for money.

Me and my daughter had lunch there a couple of days ago we had the two meals for £20 my daughter had sausage and mash and that's all you get no veg I had the fish and chips which was very disappointing frozen chips I think a few were still frozen they were that hard why any restaurant,pub can't do there own chips its not difficult. The fish was ok won't be going again.

Came here for the pub, very nice and cozy atmosphere. The menu items were great.

Very poor service very poor food would not recommend here at all and to top it off my girlfriend was poorly not long after eating here sent a msg to place. No response???

Local pub, went for a friends birthday on Saturday night, bar manager very unwelcoming and at times quite rude! Service was clipped and rushed as though you were an inconvenience and the pub was not very busy! Seemed to want everyone out as quickly as possible, called time at 10pm and 15 mins later walked round telling everyone to drink up. Drinks extremely expensive. No incentive to return I’m afraid local or not.

Can't really say much about this place called on new year's eve at dinner time but they had a problem with the kitchen hope they got through the evening celebrations we will try again

Mulled wine drink was like draculas blood..my sister in law had one sip it was putrid !! We ordered our meals and after 40 mins D'Arcy (head man) came and asked us our order again !! Bangers and mash .pie and mash and a simple sandwich ! So in all over an hour we waited..paid bill in full and left..!!!

I had planned a stay the night before a busy work gc to arrive refreshed. That did not happen! On arrival all seemed pleasant and it is well located and central. However when you attempt to enter the room and can’t because the bed gets in way it’s very disappointing. The room was ridiculously small a very small double bed uuyyuuuuu crying over it and thank god I was travelling alone! Maybe that’s why I was out in there. The room was also gadjoining which as woman travelling alone is a MASSIVE thing!!! At least the room was clean and well appointed. My night did get worse though, the people in the adjoining room were late night revellers.xx Constantly in and out of their room with no consideration for others. Thisgoodness I appreciate is not the mresponsibility of the hotel but it does affect the experience. Adam BBS bThe bar to the church goji back was also noisy and there is no privacy in the room. The windows have blackout blinds so once closed it’s a c dark room making getting dressed very difficult!

Disappointing. This was my second stay at the hotel. I loved it 2 years ago so was eager to stay again. This time around I found my room to be generally grubby. Carpet stains, areas needing a fresh bit of paint ( the wallpaper had come off) and just generally unclean. I'm all for boutique quirky hotels but this missed the mark with basic things not done. Food was fine, think Weatherspoon level, basic but fine. Staff are amazingly welcoming and frankly there smiles and chats saved my 4 night stay from being completely terrible. FYI music plays every fri/ sat night ( its a pub so i expected some noise from the venue) until 12 ish ( but from my experience people hang around outside until 2 ish) so bring your ear plugs, you can also hear everything from the next room. You are most likely going to have to take your suitcase up several flights of stairs, again I expect that from an older property but might be challenging for some people. I was so excited to stay here again so I was surprised how different my experience was from last time. I'm not sure why it has gone downhill?

Arrived mid afternoon to attend an event at the picturedome in the evening. Went into the bar for a drink but waited almost 20 minutes to be served(only one on the bar) understaffed! Food was ok but a tad expensive. Our room was on the top floor, no lifts so no good for disabled people. No windows just a roof light, felt a bit like a prison cell.

Lovely dog friendly place for dinner.

Need to up your game. The food was poor, over cooked vegetables and tough meat. The beer choice was good. Such a shame because the place is so nice.

I really enjoyed my stay here with my cousin. My only grumble was that the shower in Room 18 was difficult to get in and out of. The doors need changing. However, my cousin is a coeliac and there was a lot of choice on the menu for her and the chef even made her a special GF velouté for her chicken. The menu was excellent as was the breakfast menu. Easy access to Holmefirth town centre with residents parking. Staff very warm and welcoming. Nothing too much trouble-can thoroughly recommend.

I went to the restaurant/pub here. It was not very busy, but the staff we encountered were rather impatient and acting as if the place was packed and they didn't have time to wait for us to make any decisions as to what we were ordering. The food itself was very overpriced. They charged a lot for very small portions of low quality food. It also took a long time for the food to be served. My mother got a cheese sandwich which cost something like 12 pounds and it was literally two pieces of sliced white bread with a tiny bit of butter and some cheese in the middle and a few leaves of rocket on the side. She could have gotten a pre-packaged sandwich from Tesco's for less than 2 pounds and it would have been basically the same thing. Because of this I wouldn't recommend going here to eat.

Location perfect for a visit to the picturedrome. Room was on the small side but all you need to rest your head! Some noise was expected but didn't realise there were bars behind open to early hours, had to shut the windows which made the room so hot even with the fan on all night. Room was clean bar a few window cobwebs. Expensive for what we got but balanced with proximity to event made it OK.

Staff were abrupt. Breakfast was expensive and pretty poor quality...

Popped in for lunch, we had a roast dinner. Was ok, thought the meat was a bit fatty and veg a bit hard, so didn't eat much, desert was lovely, Apple & Raspberry Crumble with Custard & had a lovely Latte` would recommend but I'd choose a different dinner than the roast.

Great central place to explore Holmfirth and surrounding area's. We stayed one night to attend a gig right next door. The room was small but perfectly fine for our needs. Great breakfast the following morning.

Great customer service, lovely setting, excellent breakfast. Manager Ellie is a very hardworking friendly young lady who couldn’t do enough to accommodate our visit. Well done Bridge Inn

Staff and service here extremely good the food was very tasty too be it breakfast or evening meal. The room we stayed in was very clean and the beds are comfortable too the only downside to our visit was the stairs to the top floor but having that said we would stay in that room again with views over Holmfirth and velux windows to let in the cooler air on warm nights. Overall I would say I would give it a score of 9.5 .

Went for lunch here while visiting Holmfirth. We ordered an egg mayo sandwich and a ploughman’s pot. For £8.95 for the sandwich I expected a bit more. The bread was slightly stale, a few sad pieces of rocket as a garnish. The ploughman’s pot wasn’t much better. The cheese was very warm and the pickle tasteless. Pickled onions were nice however. We also waited 40 minutes for our food.

Cracking hotel and staff in a central location for what I wanted. The breakfast was superb, will definitely book here again.

I can honestly say this is a beautiful pub but today the food was very poor they manged total mess up our order for two of the meals and the Yorkshire pudding where cold obviously been made early but so not fresh or any effort to serve them warm, the veg was almost raw as aldente didn't even come close and again not very hot, apple sauce had dill in it not sure who thought of that one but to my tasting and took the apple flavour totally away. Wife ordered pudwhich which is roast meet between two Yorkshire puddings with gravy then severed with skinny fries ?????? Surly roast potatoes who puts fries on a Sunday roast dinner ? Any we won't be venturing back not to our liking or our friends but each to their own

Great central location. Very clean, good food. All staff were excellent but particular praise for the duty manager Heidi who despite it being incredibly busy, found time for everyone and never stopped working , always with a smile. Give that woman a pay raise!

Great stayed 2 nights, the room and restaurant/pub we found clean and tidy the staff are very friendly and helpful. We ate in both nights and the food was wonderful, a big thumbs 👍 up for the chef.

Fantastic place to stay and eat .Cannot fault the service we received. Will be returning very soon .Central location does have a car park but if full there is a much larger on only three minutes walk away .

Brilliant place to socialise with large garden sheds put in during Covid and a lovely place for dogs. Very friendly staff and good food 😀

Lovely venue, heart of holmfirth next to the river with the sound of running water and church bells ringing leads to a relaxing and haunting experience. Nice coffee and the Maltesers are a nice touch. Back accepting cash too which is a brilliant change.

The dirty burger and fries are amazing. Fantastic food and service. Well done guys. 5 stars. Even the free water taste good.

Pre booked table and food for 7.30 as it was a large party. Slow on taking drink orders food was slow to arrive few wrong orders delivered mine and a few who had same kebab hanging chicken was just not hot chips was cold ridiculous since we put food order in when booked table. NEVER AGAIN 😡😡😡😡 for the price could of made a better job at home shocking.

Just went for lunch our experience was not good told we could not have a beef sandwich and chips we had to have a Yorkshire pudding instead when we asked why was told not on this menu by a young man who himself not very friendly will not be going again

Popped in Sunday dinner time just for a quick drink but ended up dining. I opted for the seafood linguine and my partner for the open fish buttie. My food was stunning I would definitely recommend . Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff

Fantastic place great atmosphere was busy but there was a gig on at The Picturedrome which we were attending. Ideally placed less than a minute walk to get to the Picturedrome. We pre booked a table, the food was really really good the best fish and chips we have had for a long time, lots of choice on the menu, staff are lovely. Food prices are good, nice bar area good choice of drinks. We really enjoyed it would go again.

Great place to visit as a tourist or a walker

In the main, the food here was really good. One of the starters had to be sent back as it was cold in the middle and to be fair to them, we weren't charged for it. The main courses were delicious, but here's why I've rated it as average. We were not offered a dessert. After the mains, a bill arrived without being asked for. It was the wrong bill. It was then replaced without apology. No offer at all of dessert and when we asked why, we were told that "we need your table back for the next booking, you've had your time". Sorry, but when you've messed up, it's not our fault that you need to move us out to accommodate the next people on your conveyer belt. Also felt that drinks were expensive. Overall, even though the mains were good, it's all a bit style over substance.

Spectacular location. Right next to the river and in the center of town. Quiet at night, with good parking. The room we stayed in was massive with plenty of tea, biscuits and chocolates. We didn't need to use the car after we arrived, as there were plenty of good walks around. Food in the restaurant was okay, but had better nut roasts. Would come back.

Great friendly bar. Felt a bit sorry for the guy behind the bar, he was totally efficient but run off his feet. Think another member of staff needed behind the bar. He was ace and so friendly xxxx nothing fazed him 💯💯💯💯

Location, location, location. Right in the heart of Holmfirth, right next to the river with its own private carpark for residents. Really nice helpful staff. Great decor and bar area. Really busy at weekends. The rooms are large enough with a small bathroom but very clean. The bed was comfy enough, not the best I've ever slept on, but for one night not bad. Again the decor could do with an upgrade, brown is quiet dark and looks old fashioned. But everything works and it's clean.

Always enjoy staying here, excellent breakfast.

We had a table booked for 1915 tonight at your premises. We both ordered the steak which we both found to be awful and not cooked tour liking as requested We then selected a sticky toffee pudding and a coconut rum rice pudding. Both arrived and my wife’s pudding was neither warm or cold. My pudding was semi warm ,no flavour of rum at all and the topping of nuts were burnt. I voiced my displeasure at the bar and if your gourmet chef needs further training send him to our guest house and I will be pleased to show him.. Needless to say you ruined our very first wedding anniversary and I will make sure our guests know of your standards. I have tried to leave feeback on FB but I cannot as it seems others can’t eithers. Certainly tells a story...Am I right ? I look forward to your reply. Mr S D Headey

Me and my wife called in here recently for a light lunch and we weren't disappointed.We both had an open sandwich(fish butty) and it was really nice.It was well presented and really tasty,would definitely go here again !

I stayed here for the two night Christmas package. Got a lovely welcome from Steph on arrival. The room was lovely and Steph sorted out a couple of little things quickly and efficiently. I slept very well in the very comfortable bed. All meals were included in the package and were all absolutely Delicious 😋. All staff throughout the break were friendly, polite and efficient, including Steph, Hollie and Ellie, The General Manager, who really does have a fantastic team 😊. I highly recommend 😊.

Ellen the cleaner to jack to Ryan to Ellie, Lynn, Phil & Hollie and Issy and all the staff was nice and perlite and kind to me I injoried myself and the lovely people of holmfilth the bed was nice and comfortable and the room was a little small and the floorboards were a bit creaky but they adds its own personality. The building has… shower room could be little bigger .. I left out few names to mention on my first review I wanted to say the staff work extremely hard for us customers at the old bridge inn and I think they all deserve a mention too the cook does amazing food too so tasty the food is I fully recommend old bridge inn .. my visit was from 23rd October to 27th October 2023.. my check in time was for 1500hrs..

We had an overnight stay and had a lovely Sunday lunch and breakfast in the restaurant . The room was very comfortable with a nice view over the town and good quality toiletries. The staff were all really friendly and efficient and we would certainly recommend and will certainly be returning .

We just called for a drink on a very wet Monday afternoon, very expensive, card only payments and no atmosphere at all, all you could hear was the coffee machine which the staff seemed to like playing with all the time!

We went for lunch. Immediately told there was an half hour wait for food and a 20 minute wait for a coffee! This actually felt as though they were hinting that we should just leave - as many others did. There were plenty of staff on duty but only one lady actually pulling her weight - shocking to be honest! I ordered fish and chips and was asked small or regular portion. I asked for the small portion which was still £11.99 as I recall - so was really expecting more than the 6 - yes - 6 chips and what could only be described as a battered goldfish fin! Oh my goodness - however - it tasted nice. Needless to say, we won’t be going again. Another thing - the place was nice but no ambience whatsoever - dim the lights and put some background music on for heavens sake.

What a beautiful and clean hotel. Must say the staff here are 5 star!! Nothing is too much. Fantastic chef in the morning for breakfast. Rooms are just what you need for a short break away.

First we must compliment Steph on welcoming us on our arrival. She is a real credit to this place! She was pleasant, cheerful and efficient during our 2 night stay. There is a small free parking area. We missed the entrance first time round! We had a twin room facing an alley area - noisy at night till about 1130pm. The room was very good - very comfortable beds. It was quite warm but a fan was provided. Toiletries were of a high standard as were tea and coffee ( tea pigs and ground coffee bags). Towels were fluffy and large. Bathroom had a shower over the bath but it was nice to be provided with a rubber mat. Housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner was excellent - good variety and good value. Although I didn't get my first choice of pudding the first night, I had Cappuccino Creme Brulee on the second night. Definitely worth the wait! Breakfast was also very good - variety of cold and freshly cooked items. We would recommend this hotel.

Food was good, all freshly cooked, steaks to order, no complaints at all. Good size servings. I had the rump with peppercorn sauce, really good. Staff friendly and not overpowering. Dogs allowed which was great.

We stayed at Old Bridge Inn Hotel for two nights from Thursday to Saturday. First night was ok. Even room was very small. We had to have fan running all night and windows fully open other way it would be too hot to sleep. Up to the Friday evening everything was relatively good. Let's say 4stars even the room was dated and looked 80's. The second night was a nightmare. We had a room above some back alley. There was a place called Tavern with live music. It was loud. Even they closed around midnight there was still people shouting laughing and obviously having lots of fun. I can understand hotels location in the town centre and other businesses around, you can do nothing about. But what you can do is changing the windows for double or triple glazing so when your guests close them they may have at least little bit of noise level down. I don't think I will ever stay in Coaching Group Hotel anymore.

My partner went for Sunday Lunch for his Mums Birthday, He had pork. That evening I started with very bad pains in my stomach and nausea. It continued throughout the night and the next two days. Having to have two days off work.he was very ill the first day and had to stay in bed. The food poisoning lasted for around a week. He had only had toast before the meal at The Old Bridge that day. He notified the manager and he said he would report it to Environmental Health and email him. He heard nothing for two weeks, then we went for a drink into the bar and spoke to another manager. Who said they would ask the manager to contact me. He's heard nothing! Very poor customer service.

Booked here for a gig at the picturedrome as it was literally next door. I had a lovley single room. It had everything i needed in it. The bed was extremely comfortable. Had a meal in the evening which was delicious and reasonably priced served by efficient friendly staff. Breakfast was also extremely tasty. Would definitely stay again.

We. stayed here Thursday 22June. It’s a really good hotel in a great setting and we would highly recommend it. Rooms were clean and the breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices. There is a cosy bar and restaurant and outdoor seating for eating and drinking outside in the lovely sunshine A special mention for the staff especially the barman on Thursday night who was very attentive, pleasant and hardworking . Would stay here again .

Couldn’t fault the food or service, which was friendly, helpful and efficient. I had salmon risotto and my partner had gammon, both meals were very tasty and generous portions meant they were good value for money. Will definitely eat there again when we return to Holmfirth.

We had two meals at the pub in May 2023 and really enjoyed the service. We were a large group of 11 but the food came quickly and was tasty. Star of the show was our server, I think she was called Issy, amazing nonstop smile and was able to bat back all our awkward questions! The restaurant is comfortable with the option of outdoor seating if it's warm enough. We had most things off the menu between us, my meat and potato pie was filling and my burger and chips was delicious (a few more chips please?) The meals were all good sized portions except the standard fish and chips which was the size of a stickleback. Puddings were well presented and filling, apple crumble was the go to pudding for most of us as hungry cyclists!

We pooped in here for Sunday lunhc and had the full roast, it was lamb that day. I've eaten Sunday's all over the place and paid lots of different prices - I would pay twice what they asked for this one; but I'm still full...

Poor service , young shy waitress asked what sauces we anted for Sunday lunch then did not deliver? , poor food with missing item , the mash potato was a liquid mess running around plate , cool in restaurant fire not on. Enough said first...

The Old Bridge Inn is excellent in every way, perfectly located right in the centre of town, excellent food and a great place to stay.

Called into restaurant without a reservation. Not a problem . Offered water at table without asking . Drinks order taken and meals from menu were very good . Minor problem was dealt with immediately and without fuss . Really do recommend service and food
