we went on Sunday 13th April. The food is absolutely perfect. Triple cooked chips are superb. I had the to fishless goujons which were delicious. My partner had the saveloy as she can't stand anything fishy. That was also delicious. Mushy peas are a treat for me as n one in my family likes them, again spot on as was the home made tartar sauce. The staff were lovely , very friendly and food served quickly. Nice chilled atmosphere. I will be back and have already recommended to friends. They even allowed my small friendly dog to come in.

Without a doubt giving this place 5 stars. We had cod goujons, battered sausage and chips, then deep fried oreo for dessert. And it was absolutely incredible! I have never come across a vegan fish and chip shop in the UK so this place is one of a kind. Being a seaside girl, I always loved going to the chip shop, so this was an experience aswell as eating the most tasty food! Pros: Amazing food, Traditional salt and vinegar pots on the tables, Nice staff Cons: None

The chips were amazing! The sausages were delicious too. They had a bit of a kick. My only issue was that the batter wasn’t at all crispy. I haven’t had vegan batter before so I don’t know if that’s the norm or we caught them on a bad day. If that was fixed, I would give 5/5.

I’ve never actually had fish and chips before going vegan, so I don’t have much to compare it to—but as a Norwegian, I do know my fish, and I really miss it. This was seriously good. The vegan fish and chips were fantastic—generous portion size, with the standard menu offering four pieces of fish and a ton of chips (or fries, as I’d say). I tried it with both the spicy sauce and tartare, and also added a side of calamari rings. Honestly, the calamari was so close to the real thing I was almost shocked. The service was super friendly and helpful, especially for someone who’s never eaten traditional fish and chips—they even showed me how to use the sauces and condiments. The restaurant itself was small and cozy, but it somehow managed to fit everyone comfortably. All in all: 10 out of 10. Totally recommend this place—vegan or not, I think everyone will leave happy.

The chips were the saving grace. I’m not vegan but am forced to eat this way and don’t get me wrong I love vegan food… however… I ordered the smoked tofish and it’s put me off food today. The smoked flavour was there but that’s it. The fish is more like soggy bread. I’ve had vegan fish fingers before which had a flakey feeling and fish taste but this today was disappointing. I will say the chips are some of the best I’ve had in Brighton. Also mine had a lemon but my partners didn’t. Needs more care too!

Lovely place. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. It had been years since I tried vegan fish at a vegan festival and back then I didn't like it, if felt wrong as I found the texture and smell a bit too realistic and it just put me off. Now 8+ years vegan I was keen to give it another go and picked the 'haddock' and chips and I found it very tasty, so did my non-vegan partner. Of course you wouldn't confuse it for real fish and one of the customers tried to have a go at the staff for misleading them as they had thought they'd walked into a regular fish & chips place and once they tasted it they thought something wasn't quite right and what they had been given wasn't actually haddock (how they missed the massive Vegan sign outside, as well as everywhere on the Menu inside I do not know...). Overall I would go again and recommend it to vegans who used to enjoy fish or anyone feeling a bit adventurous and open-minded.

I was just passing by but remembering that Brighton is a haven for vegan diners, I looked up what was around and found this place. It was highly recommended on Happy Cow so we dropped in. The first problem was parking. It's a great location but Brighton is extremely expensive for parking. We parked in a street nearby and had to pay £10 for the pleasure. Not their fault but an additional expense to be aware of. It's a simple place, this little take away, with some seating for dining in. I opted for the latter. The cod and chips was sold out so I went with the smoked haddock. After a short wait, a fine looking "fish" and chips was brought out to me. The vegan haddock was fine. The batter was crispy and tasty. The filling was very edible though not quite the consistency of fish and a weird sweetness to it, kind of like someone had added a layer of maple syrup between the batter and the filling. It was nice enough but I would try something different next time. The chips were to die for. Wow! My wife, not vegan, remarked on how good the chips were too. They made the meal. I wasn't tempted by dessert, battered Oreos. The meal for one and a soft drink came to about £17 so not cheap but reasonable enough given this is not standard fare. It does reinforce the notion that you need to be reasonably well off to afford to be vegan. Overall a nice place with very nice staff working there. They were doing a roaring trade and there were food delivery drivers coming in to collect meals the whole time. Clearly very popular.

Well I love no catch, it is one of the main reasons I go to Brighton. Is nice to get take away and sit on the beach or when the weather is not so good eat in. The chips are probably the best chips anywhere, the ‘cod’ is my favourite but I think it’s all so tasty. Make sure you get a pickled onion and curry sauce to make it truly authentic.

it’s great to have a vegan chip shop, just as a heads up they no longer have gluten free fish options :( the staff were super apologetic and hopeful that it would return to the menu soon (fingers-crossed bc it was bomb). they do have one gluten free option and it’s basically a deep fried sausage—which is good but not the same, ya know? but still glad to have this as a vegan option for people who can eat gluten

Good, but... Got a takeaway from here in February 2025 as a couple. The chips were amazing, service was quick, staff member was welcoming and friendly, the place was clean and décor was cool. But, they had no vegan fish in stock (it was Saturday 5pm) no fake fish at all, so I had to order chips and battered sausage. Chips and battered sausage were amazing. So only reason 4 stars is no vegan fish on a Saturday. I could recommended though, amazing chips.

It’s a good idea, and I enjoyed my meal, but it’s not really what I was looking for.. the chips were much more like pub chips than chip shop chips.. I’ve had chips from chip shops all over the UK, dozens and dozens of them, No Catch was the only one to serve this style of chips… which tbh I’m not into. What I want, and what I think most people want, from No Catch is the authentic fish and chip shop experience.. just without the suffering. They haven’t quite achieved this and tbh it makes me not want to go back as it just doesn’t hit that spot. I had the battered sausage with mine, pretty sure these are the Richmond no meat sausages, however I have no issue with that as they are very taste, shame they’re not the classic length but it can be forgiven. The sausage did hit the spot, would be curious to try the ‘fish’.. But please, revise your chips!

OH MY GOD. I had visited hoping for good things and Holy eff they did not miss! Seriously. The quality or this food is out of this world. The battery was fresh and crisp and light. The chips were perfectly cooked, fluffy inside, crispy outside - almost like the perfect roast potatoes but in chip form. All items are vegan but people should not let that stop them visiting because seriously the quality is superb. We tried the vegan sausage smoked haddock and cod and they were all delicious. I was actually surprised how much the smocked haddock tasted different to the cod because I expected a similar taste but it was so smokey and sweet! My two year old absolutely loved it. Visited here with a vegan sibling who'd been raving about it and it is pretty good! The chips are wonderfully crisp whilst still be large fish and chips style, and the homemade tartare sauce was insanely good, with the pickles standing out. The fish tasted more like scampi than fish to me and the portion a little small, but was overall tasty with great firm texture. We ate in to avoid the cold and the place is a little sterile looking with it's white lights, but what fish and chip store isn't. I've taken a couple bites of the image below, but I believe it was £11.99. I'd say that's deserved if the fish was just a little bigger.

My daughter and I were staying around the corner and were delighted when we found No catch. We both ordered the 'cod' and chips, my daughter got the kids portion. They were only doing takeaway as it was late but that was fine with us. The restaurant itself was lovely and clean, decorated nicely and staff was friendly and helpful. We brought the food home and my daughter wasn't a fan so only ate the chips. I ate mine but within 30 minutes I was sick and then was sick for most of the night. It must have been the tofu as we both ate the chips. Even the smell from the bag made me so much that in between being sick I had to find a bin out of our room to throw it away. I hate that this happened as I love supporting fully vegan restaurants but I really was so sick for most of the night and have woken up still not well or able to eat which isn't ideal as we're only here for 2 nights!
