Sunday carvery. Two courses for £8.95, deserts @ £2.95. Excellent food. Busy but we were seated within five minutes. Many option of starter, we had mushroom soup and pate, both we very nice. Carvery was great lots of meat and the vegetables were brought to the table. I heartily recommend eating here.

First visit today. Not very busy. Tables well spaced out and staff good. Four of us had the Sunday roast and starters. Excellent selection of well cooked veg. Roast potatoes were wonderful. Very enjoyable meal and very reasonably priced all things considered. Would not hesitate to go again.

Decided to try here as heard good reviews from friends, really was a lovely experience, felt so relaxed and welcomed, the system was explained and we were shown to our table, my hubby chose the mushroom soup and my daughter and I decided on the prawn coctail and garlic mushrooms st £1.50 each more ( well worth it) the vege was brought to the table whilst we got our meat. There was plenty for us and some left, we didn't have pudding as we were all full. Would definately recommend and will be back in the future.

Attended Sunday 23rd of Feb for father in laws 86th Birthday. Pre booked table not ready, long queues at the bar, only one bar staff. Eventually shown to table, drinks finished before starter arrived. Eating pâté starter and felt a crunch. Sickened by findings of false thumbnail in salad. Called for manager. Very apologetic and checked kitchen..... None of our staff! More apologies and one glass of wine to compensate. All put off eating. No customer care or satisfaction.

What more could you wish for. Good starter choice with delicious home made soups, four meats on the carvery, four different vegetables plus two types of potatoes and all for only £4.95 for 2 courses. We had never visited before but we were told exactly how the system works with your veg being brought to the table whilst you are getting your meat. It ran as smooth as clockwork. There was also a good variety of sweets if desired for only £2.95 extra. Staff were extremely pleasant and not pushy in any way; just down to earth, nice people. Veg were cooked perfectly and nice and hot, the only problem, if you can call it a problem, is that there were far too many for us. First time visited, but definitely not the last. THANK YOU ALL!

This is my 4th visit to the New Tyke and again wasn't disappointed, food really good with both courses hot and tasty, choice of 4 roasts I had the beef and pork which were both very good, moist and tender and good servings, veg and potatoes waiting on the table when we returned back with our meat, all hot, 4 fresh vegetables Yorkshire pudding and 2 types of potato, roast and boiled. Overall a good Sunday lunch and great value for money, will definatly be back.

We went for Sunday Lunch following advice from a friend. In spite of being very large, the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. There is a limited menu, carvery based. In addition to the usual roast main course options there are several starters, some of which cost £1.50 extra. We had garlic mushrooms, which were delicious- definitely worth the £1.50....... The main course was fine- the vegetables are brought to the table in a tureen rather than you picking them at the carvery. We were too full for a dessert... The service was good- attentive but not overly so. We'll be back!

We visited on a Sunday afternoon in January. After reading some of the reviews I was apprehensive about the food and service. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at the good home cooked quality food. The staff were attentive and efficient with a friendly aura. A very reasonably prices Sunday lunch. Would definitely recommend.

Scorching hot day. Just couldn't face cooking. Been to the New Tyke befor and really enjoyed it. Today was no different. Same people working so it shows it must be a happy establishment. Got shown to our table as we had rang and pre booked. Ordered our starter and some drinks. Had the carvery. Nice selection of meats. Beef, Gammon, Turkey and Pork. The veg is all brought to your table separately while your getting your meats. Good variety and all piping hot. A decent selection of deserts and trust me the gateaux is not to be missed. Value wise. 2 adults and 2 growing kids, starters, carvery and desserts plus a round of drinks £39.00. Need I say more. Exceptional value. Can only highly recommend you try it for yourself.

I've visited the new tyke a few times now for Sunday lunch and each time amazing meal and lovely staff. What I like most about the new tyke is you order your carvery and when you go for your meat the waitresses bring all the veg fresh to your table when you return with your meat. It's always fresh and hot. The price is very reasonable too. I will be going back it's fabulous. Top marks 5 stars all the way.

Saw sign saying Sunday lunch £4.95 so gave it a try. I eat out every Sunday so thought we would see if this is value for money. Had to wait ages before we were allowed to go up for food. As we sat and waited we saw an elderly man eating the meat from behind the counter and also that customers were stood waiting whilst he had back to them. When we went up for our lunch, the meat had loads of fat/gristle on it. The veg was put on our table and I cannot state on here how poor it was as was asked to revise my view. The veg was all frozen veg and nothing was fresh. The gravy tastes like nothing I have tasted in my life. So watery and bitter and didn't even resemble gravy. I complained to the female manager who was extremely rude to us and told us that there's nothing wrong with the meal and it's all fresh veg. I felt very uncomfortable as she spoke down to us. I cook fresh veg all the time, and I know the taste difference between frozen and fresh! She had a very angry face as I asked her to taste the food. She refused to taste and we left. I will never return here and will never recommend this place to friends. Poor food and poor customer service! 0/10

Couldn't get my food sorted until 1 week before the wedding as owner was ever available. Wanted carvary like they do every weekend. 100 guaranteed covers you'd think the same price or less, right? Wrong. Wanted to charge me an extra £10 per head. Didn't want buffet at my wedding but seemed his preferred option so I had to go with it. Wish is gone to an Asian food place and got delicious food from them instead! The hot buffet was nice but the food was supposed to go away then come back out later in the evening. Never saw it again...If we booked their usual (not resident) DJ we could use their sound system. As the best mans son was doing this for us though he had to bring a lot of extra unnecessary equipment though. We weren't even able to use the existing equipment for a fee and no explanation was given for this. The venue would not sign for the wedding cake delivery. Husband had to agree with cake maker (luckily someone he knew through work) that it could be left unsigned for. No damage so don't understand what the problem was?Venue has since used photos of my cake to advertise themselves in Facebook. The one they wouldn't sign for. No I was not asked if this would be ok. Accused guests of drinking the toasting wine when it "ran out" despite them having dry glasses. Turned out the missing wine had been left at empty and children's seats?!Venue refused to cut the cake. My mum had to do this. On her daughters wedding day. In her outfit?! Booked the room for the day until 12 midnight. Still served breakfast to the public so I had to decorate only half the tables in the morning and trust that they'd copy the style. In all fairness this was done well but still a stress I could've done without. Started cleaning up at 10:30pm despite DJ still playing etc. cleaner also moaned at me for using table confetti as the Hoover struggled to pick it up. I smiled and said he needed a better Hoover then but what kind if person does that? Clearly from my dress I was the bride, not even a random guest!Toilets aren't very nice. Not for a wedding anyway. I'm quite a chilled out person and enjoyed my day despite the venues many shortfalls. This was because we got married - not because of the venue for the party. If you think any if these problems may "ruin" your big day stay away. You only get married once - don't let it be stressful :)On the plus side it could've cost more, yet I still expected some level of professionalism. Stick to birthdays etc.

my wife & i have just had another Sunday dinner at the new tyke near Thornton Bradford, the carvery is well worth a visit alone but there is a good choice of starters the garlic mushrooms are fabulous after the starter you are asked to go for your choice of meats while your steaming hot veg gets brought to your table, you are not rushed so if you want to order from the fantastic choice of deserts you will not be disappointed,we then finished off with a really great coffee all for only around £22.00 for the two of us,seriously whats not to like, book a meal and enjoy a Sunday lunch out, you wont regret it ..........
