Absolutely excellent cafe. A lovely warm welcome and offer of help with my companions, some of whom had mobility issues. The service and food was absolutely lovely and not overpriced and everyone gave them a 10 out of 10. Highly recommend. There is very easy access to cafe and toilets and we shall return. Thanks to all the lovely staff 😊

We were staying at Hunton on holiday and wanted a local cafe so that we didn’t have to drive too far, ‘The Nest’ did not disappoint. What an incredible location, really friendly staff and gorgeous scones. Given that my Mum made thousands of them when we had a restaurant (and hers were always delicious), she gave 10/10 for the cherry one and I’d give the same rating for my yummy cheese one. If you like scones, stunning views and cute animals, this is the place for you!

Very disappointed. Not a warm welcome and the place and cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Only good thing was the view of the dales. Won’t be returning.

Coffee excellent, food all fresh daily, we had sausage roll and cheese scone, both excellent. Seating areas are top quality and outside area has great views due to glass partitions. Staff friendly and lady cook is a real character.

Outside seating was dog friendly - even Elvis the alpaca greeted us warmly. Stunning view over to Pen Hill in the west; sunny terrace in the middle of countryside, in which to enjoy a very tasty brunch.

Food was good but tables were not wiped down when cleared leaving crumbs and cup marks behind. We weren’t given an itemised bill so was overcharged by £2 which fair enough isn’t a lot but soon mounts up if it’s done several times a day. A bit disappointed as it had been recommended.

It’s more than “just a cafe” Yes it is a lovely cafe but it is also a great spot to sit look at the view and take in the selection of lovely animals they have on site. Small goats, sheep, llamas etc. Had superb brunch and numerous cups of great coffee and albeit a small selection of cakes the ones they have are excellent. Personally can’t fault it. Doesn’t open weekends though but open every day during the week as it’s adjacent a working but extremely well kept business park. Literally minutes from the A1 for anyone going North or South it’s the perfect stop off point with loads of free parking

I have visited on numerous occasions and have received a very warm and friendly welcome. The food.....freshly cooked....to perfection.....every time. Apart from that, I've loved eating my wonderfully prepared food whilst being observed by the most beautiful goats (Ohh...I love them), Llamas and sheep. (Okay, I love them too).......Really worth a visit....Promise you.xx

Stopped off here on our way to Scotland. It’s actually the cafe of a business park. The whole thing has been converted from a farm. There are still a selection of sheep, pigs and alpacas to see. It is small but excellent value. There’s a lovely outdoor seating area, overlooking an animal pen. The coffee and food are great as well.

Came down here to do some work and was taken aback by the beautiful views, hilarious alpacas and great good. I had a bacon sandwich and hot chocolate whilst I was there and they were really tasty. Will be back for sure! What a spot :)

We regularly attend Barkers Kitchen when we visit Family in Northallerton. We don’t Normally leave a review but on this occasion I felt it was necessary. When we arrived we joined the queue for hot food which I must say was absolutely delicious. The member of staff at the till was happy and smiley and her customer service was 100 percent ! We did however notice what I can only describe as a manager or supervisor was absolutely disgraceful towards a member of the team. I have been in hospitality for many years and I have never witnessed such a shocking experience in bad leadership and degrading a member of staff . She clearly has no values and total disrespect for staff I suggest management get a grip and get ontop of this situation. It made us feel uncomfortable and embarrassed so we have decided never to set foot in Barkers Kitchen again!

Under new management Any reviews prior to march 2025 are no longer valid. Good luck to the new landlord. I have been in and wasn’t keen, they have taken away the old feel of the standard. It feels more cramped and louder. Not tried the food. Cost me £9.40 for two drinks.

Living in Northallerton we have visited this place a lot. But for a while now the service has been slow and the staff seem to have a lack of training and not of great deal of knowledge. Visiting today on Mothers Day the chap that I assume was the manger for the day, was the only staff behind the bar and did not have the best attitude, very short and sharp in dealing with customers and did not have control of the staff at all. Staff certainly had not leadership or guidance. This I hope is a blip in the pub as it is a cracking pub we have come to for years and the previous manager, an Australian chap certainly had it right.
