The Mouse is a lovely local pub that has, according to my husband, a good selection of well kept West Country ales. It also has a great choice of ciders and wines, that I can vouch for! It isn't a gastro pub, the food is tasty pub grub, today we had scampi & chips and fish & chips. Both meals were hot, well presented and reasonably priced. Worth a visit for the views from the garden alone!

Wanted to put zero stars but not possible. Today I visited with my 3 sisters, one of them elderly and frail. Having read the good reviews we were looking forward to a lovely Sunday Roast. We were happy to see that they also offered a smaller size for those with smaller appetites. However, our experience was the worst we have encountered in our lives and in the 9 years visiting various local eateries in that area. My eldest sister ordered a coffee with her meal, the rest of us had cold drinks. We ordered a large chicken roast, a large beef roast and two small chicken roasts. When the drinks arrived my sister could not drink her coffee because it was SO strong, even after putting all the milk in from the jug it was still black. I took it back to the bar and explained and asked if another coffee could be made but not so strong. The man behind the bar who I think managed/co-owned it was not happy and got very defensive. He told me that was how it came and he couldn't change it but then said he could do a tea instead and my sister could leave the tea bag in as long or little as she wanted. My sister was happy to do this. The tea was brought and that was fine. The roasts arrived after and they looked good. Decent portion sizes too. However, as soon as we started eating we realised they were cold. The vegetables especially were cold, limp and very pale. They certainly didn't seem fresh or roasted and there was no evidence of a honey glaze. The peas were a little on the hard side too, but just about palatable for a few of us. The roasters were mixed. A few hot a few cold. One sister had no roasters at all. The gravy was very thin and watery and there wasn't much of it. The meat wasn't bad. The chicken was quite tasty and succulent but that was the only part of the meal that was enjoyable. One sister decided to ask for her meal to be reheated in the microwave so that she could at least attempt to eat it but again this was done begrudgingly. Three of us tried to eat some as we were very hungry but just couldn't continue. The reheated meal came back and although it was hotter, the meal itself was still unpleasant, especially the veg. We then decided to call the manager over to discuss what could be done to improve our experience. What happened next was beyond belief! We were told by the owner/manager that in her 21 years of being there, no one had ever complained. She also advised us that another family eating there had assured her their meal was piping hot. Her voice was raised and she was getting very angry and defensive. We asked her to taste our dinners but she would not. Instead she stormed back to the bar saying she would just give us our money back. The man behind the bar, who may have been a co-owner or even her husband then stormed over to us, screaming at us and pointing his finger in our faces, accusing us of being trouble makers. He was literally red in the face with anger. He said he knew from the moment we walked in that we would be trouble! They then started telling other customers about our complaint, we believe to try and get their support. The shouting and aggression really upset my elderly sister and left her very frightened and shaking. We could not believe how any professional business person could be so aggressive and rude to a cystomer! I tried to calm the situation but the owners were not having it. They just could not accept that anyone could find fault with their food. As soon as our money was returned to us we decided to leave so as not to get drawn any further into what was a very distressing situation. I however decided to go back in to explain to the lady manager that we were not there to cause trouble and had eaten in other pubs and restaurants in the area for years with no complaints and on this occasion it was our honest opinion that the meals were not up to standard. Had they dealt with the issue in a calm and professional manner things could have been very different. I am sure on reflection they will see this too, but if not then they have much to learn about customer service!

I read the reviews and thought this pub would be the place for me and my 3 sisters to enjoy Sunday lunch. How wrong was i. Coffee ordered was so strong even the jug of milk which came with it could not make it drinkable and only left it cold. Apologies were given by the waitress and request for a different hot drink was accepted. Lunch arrived and what a disappointment. The chicken was nice enough though cold , the vegetables were cold, tasteless and limp and those of us who had the luxury of gravy, found it to be minimal and tasteless, almost clear in colour. Feeling hungry and not wanting to unsettle one of our sisters who struggles with her health, we tried to 'enjoy' our meal. I asked for mine to be heated and this was taken and returned to me. This made little difference to the taste, and like my sisters, i found I could not eat this food. It was inedible. Asking to speak to the manager again, we were shock to hear her dismiss our views which was then backed up by another member of staff who approached us aggressively saying " I knew you were trouble the minute you walked in". Absolutely shocking behaviour which continued until we left. My sister had her payment returned which we had not even requested and we would have rathered enjoyed a meal. My sister spoke further to the manager whilst we took our other sister away from this upsetting scene and she was told that it was our fault that our food was cold because we had asked for the coffee to be changed. This was one hot drink and other than us, there was few others eating. The manager shared that their food was piping hot. Really why as a customer would you even say this? We found a local coffee shop which serve lovely hot drinks and cakes. We have eaten in many places in this area, wanting to give back to local businesses. I over heard the manager say before our meal was delivered that she had passed this pub to another and heading to clevedon. We will mot be returning and I hope that this manager accesses training for her and her team particularly in customer service and food prep and delivery.

Our bus driver Mike circled a day off in Bristol and told us we were going to head to one of the best pubs we've ever been to. Bold statement - and The Mouse delivered! A group of 8 or 9 of us rolled in right around dinner time and our only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer. The chili with chips was some of the best comfort food I've ever had, and everyone else raved about their selections. Amazing home-cooked food and great beer selections. The staff were so welcoming and kind to us, I can't wait to head back. There were so many things on the menu I wanted to try.

Came for lunch with my sister and our friend. Firstly, we ordered tea and coffee whilst we perused the menu. The drinks were served in large mugs but sadly mine was cracked, a very large crack, all the way down - very surprised this wasn't noticed by the barista. I complained and was eventually served with a replacement (but as it wasn't hot I guessed it was simply poured straight from the cracked mug). Then we ordered fish n chips for my sister and me, our friend ordered the ham, eggs and chips. My sister and our friend were fairly satisfied with their choice, but sorry to say I found my fish n chips to be tepid and greasy, plus the fish was flat and nearly all batter. The ladies' toilets are clean, which is always a good point.

It has been a year since we lunched at The Mouse Pub when we had to sit outside in accordance with the Covid rules at that time. This time we were able to sit inside although as it was a nice day we could easily have sat outside again - there is a beautiful scenic view from the rear terrace!! We had to sit outside, of course in a covered nook, but, as there was a chilly breeze, the kind barista turned an overhead heater on for us! It did make a difference. The lunch was lovely - my companion had Harvest Chicken with all the trimmings - I confess I had fish and chips (my weakness). "Have something different," my friend said, but no I had to plump for the fish n chips which were very nice. Mushy peas and salad to go with it. The staff are so kind and helpful. The lovely baristress gave my companion an unopened packet of visors which had arrived that morning and she needn't need. The toilets are pristine, always a good touch! From the back garden where we sat, there is a wonderful scenic view over the surrounding area. The Mouse Pub is highly recommended!

Charming and bijou-sized local boozer, this decidedly average watering hole comes into its own in the summer months. Its small but perfectly formed pub garden means you can avoid the ubiquitous big screen footie and average lager which characterises the inside, and enjoy a drink with one of the best views around. Perfect on summer evenings, this place has sunset views over the Blaise and Kingsweston estates and bizarrely is the spot of some of my most romantic nights out locally.

Excellent home cooked food, with a varied menu and large portions making it great value for money... The landlady was very accommodating and helpful in all aspect of making the lunch for 14 people a lovely birthday experience! Well worth a visit...

This is the go to pub. If anyone ever ask to go out for a drink, our first thought is the mouse! It is a great pub.

very poor customer service and coffee tasted really bad. Few girls standing behind the counter and just gossiping whilst customers awaiting in the front.

So much to like in this friendly pub. Staff nice, good beers, nice layout and great garden. But…..the food is disappointing. The pizzas are ok but the rest really should be better. Feel bad writing this because I love the place. Would be great if they could upgrade the food a bit.

A few drinks on a Sunday, and a bit of karaoke to boot. Lost my card somewhere but the super helpful bar people, and security made sure I'd cancelled it, and even got me a taxi home. Such a great pub.
